1Study on Retinal Ganglion Cell Apoptosis after Explosive Injury of Eyeballs in Rabbits显示文摘Purpose: To explore the pathological changes of retinal ganglion cell apoptosis and its relation to the value of glutamate concentration in vitreous body after explosive injury of eyeballs in the rabbits.Method: Similar explosive injury models of eyeballs in 10 adult grey rabbits were made.The rabbits were killed on scheduled time. The retinal tissues of studied eyes and control eyes were obtained for the pathological examination with TUNEL method respectively.The value of glutamate in vitreum of injured eyes was measured and was compared with that of contralateral eyes. Statistical comparison analysis on the experiment data was performed.Result: The value of glutamate in vitreum of injured eyes was significantly higher than that of contralateral eyes in all rabbits in the study. A lot of TUNEL positive cells were observed in the injured eyes. It suggested that apoptosis of the retinal ganglion cells took place.Conclusion: We speculate that apoptosis of the retinal ganglion cells is perhaps among the causes resulting in damage of visual function after explosive injury of eyeballs and that the increasing of the value of glutamate in vitreum possibly associated with apoptosis of the retinal ganglion cells.Suihua Chen, Zhenping Huang, Lili Wang, Tao Jiang, Bo Wu, Guiqin Sun Department of Ophthalmology, General Hospital of PLA Nanjing Command, Clinical School of Medical College of Nanjing University. 2Effect of Seawater Soaking on Explosive Cornea Injury显示文摘Objective: To observe the changes in corneal tissue after explosive corneal injury and the effect of seawater soaking on the healing of cornea after explosive injury with the help ofoptical microscope. Methods: Make 10 similar explosive injury models of rabbit′s eyeball using 10 adult greyrabbits. For each rabbit, both eyes are artificially injured through explosion; its right eye is the comparison eye and after the injury the left eye is soaked in seawater for 30 minutes.Conduct slit lamp examinations, fluorescein dyeing, and ultrasonic cornea thickness metering on the corneas at intervals, that is, before the injury, 1 , 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 12, 15days after the injury respectively. Examine the corneas under the optical microscope andmake comparisons.Results: The corneal thickness of the experiment eye becomes apparently thicker than thatof the comparison eye after the injury. The corneal clouding of the former apparentlyaggravates compared with the latter. The healing of corneal epithelium in the injured eye isslower compared with that in the comparison eye. Comparative examination under the opticalmicroscope shows: after the injury, the corneal tissue of the experiment eye changesdistinctly, its healing is delayed and the vascularization degree becomes high in cornealstroma.Conclusion: Scars and vascularization of various degrees will appear in corneal stroma afterexplosive injuries. 3Pleural fluid from tuberculous pleurisy inhibits the functions of T cells and the differentiation of Th1 cells via immunosuppressive factors显示文摘Immunosuppressive mediators in tuberculosis pleurisy(pleural fluid(PF))are associated with the course of disease,but they remain poorly defined.To study the local immune status of patients with tuberculosis pleurisy,we examined the effect of PF on the functions of T cells and the differentiation of Th1 cells.PF could inhibit the ability of T cells to produce cytokines.However,tumor-necrosis factor(TNF)-a derived from non-T cells was not impaired.Further analysis indicated that cell activation and cell cycle progression were also suppressed.Moreover,PF could inhibit Th1 cell differentiation.Importantly,we found that inhibitors of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase(IDO)and adenosine and neutralizing antibodies against IL-10 and transforming growth factor(TGF)-b could reverse cytokine production,suggesting that IDO,adenosine,IL-10 and Transforming growth factor–b1 in PF might take part in impairing T-cell functions.Taken together,our data demonstrate for the first time that several immunopathological factors participate in the downregulation of T-cell functions in local PF.Qin Li Li Li Yun Liu Xiaoying Fu Dan Qiao Hui Wang Suihua Lao Fengyu Huang Changyou Wu 2011Cellular & Molecular Immunology2011,8,2:4
4Pathological Changes in Rabbit Retina and Its Relationship with Glutamic Acid after Injuries from High-Speed Bullets显示文摘Purpose:To observe the pathological changes in rabbit retinas and the measure of glutamic acid levels in the vitreous body after suffering from high-speed bullet injuries.Methods:Rabbits eyeball contusion models were established with high-speed bullets,i.e,the rabbits eyes were shot with a fixed air rifle at a speed of 90 m/s.(using plastic bullets,weighing 0.201 g,on average).Retinal tissues treated with HE staining and were prepared for light microscopy examination and glutamate levels were tested at different time points after the injury.Results:Edema,exudation,hemorrhage,and rupture were evident in rabbit retinas following bullet injuries.Meanwhile,glutamate levels gradually increased as time proceeded.Conclusion:Visual impairment is related with retinal damages after high-speed bullet injuries.Increased glutamate concentration serves as a potential factor for aggravating retinal injuries.Chuang Nie Suihua Chen 2011Eye Science2011,26,4:3

6Ocular Siderosis显示文摘Ocular siderosis refers to intraocular iron deposition in ocular tissues caused by the long-time retention of penetrating iron-containing foreign bodies, commonly leading to a series of characteristic alterations and severe disorder of visual function. 11Analysis of the Activation of the Nrf2-ARE Pathway Following Optic Nerve Injury in Mice显示文摘Purpose:The Nrf2-ARE pathway plays a cytoprotective role in many tissues,but its protective function in the optic nerve is unclear. The purpose of the study is to investigate the changes in activation of the Nrf2-ARE pathway following optic nerve injury (ONI) in mice. Methods:Using ONI mice models,the expression levels of Nrf2 in optic nerves were determined by real-time PCR at various time points. Results:The expression of Nrf2mRNA was significantly up-regulated at 1 d after ONI, peaking at 30 min after ONI. 15INFLUENCE OF ORDINARY ACCELERATORS ON HYDRATION OF BELITE CEMENT显示文摘The study revealed that ordinary accelerators for Portland cement also improves early strength of Belite cement remarkably, but one serious defect exists which lead to a high strength reduction at the age of 28 days. The paper analyzes the action mechanism of ordinary accelerators on Belite cement. It shows that these accelerators can not accelerate the hydration of β-C2S directly. The reason that they can increase early strength of Belite cement is that they can promote hydration of C3A and C4AF, through which can make early hydration of β-C2S in clinker advanced relatively. The strength reduction at 28 day age is mainly because these accelerators restrain the further hydration of β-C2S at later age. 16Analysis on the Characteristics of the Coseismic Response of Water Levels Recorded in Three Wells in Hainan,China to the Two Sumatra-Andaman Strong Earthquakes显示文摘The characteristics of seismic water level fluctuations of the two Sumatra-Andaman strong earthquakes with magnitude 8.7 and 8.5 on December 26,2004 and March 29,2005 recorded at Jiaji well,Qionghai,Hainan were analyzed,the features of the infrequent 'step' changes of well water level after the two earthquakes were also analyzed and the mechanism of the 'step change' of well water level was discussed.Then the high-sample-rate digital observation data of seismically-induced water level fluctuations of the Sumatra-Andaman strong earthquakes with magnitude 8.7 and 8.5 recorded at Nanbin well,Sanya and Tanniu well,Wenchang were analyzed.The results suggest that the dominant period of the seismic well water level fluctuation in all three wells was comparatively accordant,the amplitudes of seismic water level fluctuation of the same earthquake in different wells were clearly different,the time duration of seismic water level fluctuations of different earthquakes at the same well was also clearly different.Li Zhixiong Gu Shenyi Yuan Xiwen Liu Wei Ming Suihua Yang Guang Guo Nan 2008Earthquake Research in China2008,22,4:0
17Semi-LDPC Convolutional Codes:Construction and Low-Latency Windowed List Decoding显示文摘This paper presents a new coding scheme called semi-low-density parity-check convolutional code(semi-LDPC-CC),whose parity-check matrix consists of both sparse and dense sub-matrices,a feature distinguished from the conventional LDPC-CCs.We propose sliding-window list(SWL)decoding algorithms with a fixed window size of two,resulting in a low decoding latency but a competitive error-correcting performance.The performance can be predicted by upper bounds derived from the first event error probability and by genie-aided(GA)lower bounds estimated from the underlying LDPC block codes(LDPC-BCs),while the complexity can be reduced by truncating the list with a threshold on the difference between the soft metrics in the serial decoding implementation.Numerical results are presented to validate our analysis and demonstrate the performance advantage of the semi-LDPC-CCs over the conventional LDPC-CCs.Qianfan Wang Suihua Cai Li Chen Xiao Ma 2021Journal of Communications and Information Networks2021,6,4:0
