2Two mode photon bunching effect as witness of quantum criticality in circuit QED显示文摘We suggest a scheme to probe critical phenomena at a quantum phase transition (QPT) using the quantum correlation of two photonic modes simultaneously coupled to a critical system. As an experimentally accessible physical implementation,a circuit QED system is formed by a capacitively coupled Josephson junction qubit array interacting with one superconducting transmission line resonator (TLR). It realizes an Ising chain in the transverse field (ICTF) which interacts with the two magnetic modes propagating in the TLR. We demonstrate that in the vicinity of criticality the originally independent fields tend to display photon bunching effects due to their interaction with the ICTF. 3Visualization and quantification of water movement in porous cement-based materials by real time thermal neutron radiography:Theoretical analysis and experimental study显示文摘Water movement in porous cement-based materials is of great importance when studying their deterioration processes and durability.Many traditional methods based on mass changes,electricity or nuclear magnetic resonances are available for studying water transport in cement-based materials.In this research,an advanced technique i.e.thermal neutron radiography was utilized to achieve visualization and quantification of time dependent water movement including water penetration and moisture vapor in porous cement-based materials through theoretical analysis and experimental study.Because thermal neutrons ex-perience a strong attenuation by hydrogen,neutron radiography exhibits high sensitivity to small amounts of water.A neutron transmission analysis for quantitative evaluation of raw radiographic measurements was developed and optimized based on point scattered functions(PScF).The determinations of the real time and space dependent water penetration into uncracked and cracked mortar samples,as well as the drying process have been presented in this paper.It is illustrated that thermal neutron radiography can be a useful research tool for visualization and quantification of water movement in porous building materials.The obtained results will help us to better understand deteriorating processes of cement-based materials and to find ways to improve their durability.ZHANG Peng1,WITTMANN F H1,2,ZHAO TieJun1,LEHMANN E3 & JIN ZuQuan1 1 Center for Durability & Sustainability Studies of Shandong Province,Qingdao Technological University,Qingdao 266033,China 2 Aedificat Institute Freiburg,Freiburg D-79100,Germany 3 Department of Spallation Neutron Source(ASQ),Paul Scherrer Institute,Villigen PSI CH-5232,Switzerland 2010Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,5:6

5Raman Spectroscopic Study of Silicon Nanopowders显示文摘Vibrational properties of silicon nanopowders are discussed with reference to Raman spectroscopic measurements. The powders were produced in a low pressure rf plasma from the cluster induced agglomeration of positive ions formed during the dissociation of silane. Influence of thermal treatment and the crystallization phenomena of the powder were studied. Raman spectroscopic measurements reveal size quantization effects for the particles as well as the existence of partially ordered regions in the apparently amorphous primary particles. The crystalline and amorphous volume fraction in the material were calculated from the relative spectraI intensities. 7Amphiphilic dendronized homopolymers显示文摘A series of second generation of amphiphilic dendronized homopolymers are efficiently synthesized,and their thermoresponsiveness in aqueous solutions and secondary structures in methanol solutions are described.These polymers are constructed in each repeat unit with various generations of hydrophobic 4-aminoproline and hydrophilic oligoethylene glycol (OEG)-based dendrons,and their over-all hydrophilicity is tuned by varying these dendron generations.Polymers with or without the first generation of proline dendron show good water solubility at room temperature,but exhibit typical thermoresponsive behaviors at elevated temperatures as characterized by turbidity measurements using UV-vis spectroscopy,while the polymer with the secondary generation of proline dendron is not soluble in water.All polymers show ordered secondary structures as evidenced by the optical rotation and circular dichroism experiments.Finally,assembly of these amphiphilic homopolymers into porous films via breath figure (BF) technique is described,and polymer structures are found to show significant influence on the morphology of porous film.LI Wen 1 & ZHANG AFang 1,2 1 Institute of Polymers,Department of Materials,ETH Zurich,Wolfgang-Pauli-Str.10,8093 Zurich,Switzerland 2 Department of Polymer Materials,College of Materials Science and Engineering,Shanghai University,Shanghai 201800,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,12:2
8At the crossroad of conception and infection: initiatives for immunoglobulin-based contraceptive R & D显示文摘Better understanding of the immunological inechanisms implying the insemination and the infertility of some menand women is needed and crucial to the developnlent of an effective imlntmocona'aceptive method. To provide goodprotection against conception or infection, and avoid any possible and unexpected complications which immunocontra-cepfive 'vaccine' my arise of, it seems the right time for scientists to create a virtually new thinking for this extremelyurgent and important issue.
