| 1 | Non-invasive in Situ Simultaneous Measurement of Multi-parameter Mechanical Properties of Red Blood Cell Membrane显示文摘The purpose of this study was to develop a new dynamic image analyzing technique that will give us the ability to measure the viscoelastic parameters of individual living red blood cells non-invasively, in situ and in real time. With this technique, the bending modulus Kc, the shear elasticity μ and their ratio ε were measured under different temperatures, oxygen partial pressures and osmotic pressures. | 5 | Fabrication of laminated TiB2-B4C/Cu-Ni composites by electroplating and spark plasma sintering显示文摘We proposed a new method, electroplating followed by spark plasma sintering(SPS), to fabricate laminated TiB_2-B_4 C/Cu-Ni composites with high strength and high toughness. It is found that a thin intermediate Cu layer can effectively enhance the strength of the interface between the ceramics and the metals, resulting in a high flexural strength and toughness of the laminated TiB_2-B_4 C composites simultaneously. | 7 | Continuous wave operation of GaAsBi microdisk lasers at room temperature with large wavelengths ranging from 1.27 to 1.41 μm显示文摘Submicron-meter size GaAsBi disk resonators were fabricated with the GaAsBi/GaAs single-quantum-well(QW)-structure grown by molecular beam epitaxy. The GaAsBi/GaAs QW revealed very broad photoluminescence signals in the wavelength range of 1100–1400 nm at 300 K. The 750 nm diameter and 220 nm thick disk resonators were optically pumped and exhibited lasing characteristics with continuous wave operation at room temperature.To our knowledge, it is the first demonstration of a lasing wavelength longer than 1.3 μm with a maximum value of 1.4 μm in a GaAsBi/GaAs material system. The lasing wavelength spans about 130 nm by adjusting the disk diameter, covering almost the entire O band. | 9 | Toxic effects of pesticides on the marine microalga Skeletonema costatum and their biological degradation显示文摘Pesticides are considered to be toxic pollutants that are harmful to the health of humans and animals or dangerous to the environment.The pesticides chlorpyrifos,acetochlor,and dicofol,representatives of organophosphorus,acyl amide,and organochlorine pesticides,are widely used in agriculture and have been frequently detected in aquatic environments.However,the toxicity of these pesticides to marine microbes is unclear.In this study,the toxic effects of the three pesticides on a representative marine microalga,the diatom Skeletonema costatum(S.costatum),were investigated.Microalgal cell density and chlorophyll-a(Chl-a)content were analyzed to investigate the toxic effects after S.costatum was exposed to the three pesticides both individually and in combination.The N/P ratio in the culture medium and the degradation of the pesticides were also analyzed during exposure.Individual acute toxicity analysis indicated that the growth of S.costatum was significantly inhibited by acetochlor,followed by the effect of dicofol and chlorpyrifos.The cell membrane of the microalgae was impaired by acetochlor.Combined toxicity analysis indicated that the presence of acetochlor increased the toxicity of dicofol and chlorpyrifos.In contrast,the presence of dicofol reduced the toxicity of acetochlor and chlorpyrifos.The N/P ratio in the culture medium was largely increased at late growth stages;however,it was significantly lowered when the microalgae were exposed to chlorpyrifos compared to acetochlor and dicofol.The degradation of the pesticides was promoted by microalgae,suggesting that microalgae might contribute to the removal of these pesticides from the marine environment.The toxic mechanism of the pesticides on the marine microalgae and the fates of pesticides in the ocean need to be further studied. | Zilian ZHANG Qiulan CHEN Bo CHEN Taojie DONG Meng CHEN | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,3: | 0 |
| 10 | DMT:A model detecting multispecies of tea buds in multi-seasons显示文摘In China,tea products made from fresh leaves characterized by one leaf with one bud(1L1B)are classified as“Famous Tea”,which has better taste and higher economic value,but suffers from a labor shortage.Aiming at picking automation,existing studies focus on visual detection of 1L1B,but algorithm validation is limited to a specific variety of tea sprouting in a certain harvest season at a certain location,which limits the engineering application of developed tea picking robots working in various natural tea fields.To address this gap,a deep learning model DMT(detecting multispecies of tea)based on YOLOX-S was proposed in this paper.The DMT network takes YOLOX-S as a baseline and adds ECA-Net to the CSP Darknet and FPN of YOLOX-S.The average precision(AP),precision,and recall of DMT are 94.23%,93.39%,and 88.02%,respectively,for detecting 1L1B sprouting in spring;93.92%,93.56%,and 87.88%,respectively,for detecting 1L1Bsprouting in autumn.These experimental results are better than those of the five current object detection models.After fine-tuning the DMT network with another dataset composed of multiple tea varieties,the DMT network can detect 1L1B for different varieties of tea in multiple picking seasons.The results can promote the engineering application of picking automation of fresh tea leaves. | Taojie Yu Jianneng Chen Zhiwei Chen Yatao Li Junhua Tong Xiaoqiang Du | 2024 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2024,17,1: | 0 |
