| 1 | Foregut duplication cysts:A report of two cases with emphasis on embryogenesis显示文摘Duplication cyst of the stomach with a pseudostratifie columnar ciliated epithelium is extremely rare.We de scribe two cases of these cysts, with emphasis on the immunophenotype and embryogenesis. The first patien was a 29-year-old man who presented with crampin abdominal pain in his left lower quadrant. The secon patient was a 26-year-old woman who had a history over several years,of chronic epigastric abdominal pai radiating to her back. Both lesions were surgically re moved. They showed the same histomorphology.Th cysts were lined by a pseudostratified respiratory ep thelium with ciliated cells. The first cyst was connecte to the stomach, while the second cyst was not connect ed.Both cysts expressed thyroid transcription factor(TTF-1) and surfactant. In this report,we explore th possible embryogenesis of these lesions in the light o TTF-1 and surfactant expression. | Thaer Khoury Louis Rivera | 2011 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,1: | 5 |

| 14 | A New System for Road Traffic Optimisation Using the Virtual Traffic Light Technology显示文摘Large cities suffer from traffic congestion, particularly at intersections, due to a large number of vehicles, which leads to the loss of time by increasing carbon emissions, including fuel consumption. Therefore, the need for optimising the flow of vehicles at different intersections and reducing the waiting time is a critical challenge.Conventional traffic lights have been used to control traffic flow at different intersections and have been improved to become more efficient by using different algorithms, sensors and cameras. However, they also face some challenges, such as high-cost installation, operation, and maintenance issues. This paper develops a new system based on the Virtual Traffic Light(VTL)technology to improve traffic flow at different intersections and reduce the encountered loss of time and vehicles’travel time.Additionally,it reduces the costs of installation, maintenance and operation over various conventional traffic light systems.Consequently, the system proposes algorithms for traffic scheduling and lane identification by using vehicle ID,priority and time of arrival. To evaluate the system, four scenarios were presented where each scenario uses a different number of vehicles consisting of three types(emergency vehicles, public buses and private vehicles),each given a different priority. The proposed system is evaluated by integrating two simulators, namely,(OMNeT++)and(SUMO),and two frameworks, namely,(VEINS)and(INET)to prepare an appropriate working environment.the results prove that an improvement in the average travel time for several vehicles reaches 44.43%–49.76%compared with conventional traffic lights.Further,it is proven from the obtained results that the average waiting time for emergency vehicles is enhanced by 96.63%–97.63%,while the average waiting time for public buses is improved by 94.81%–97.23%.On the other hand, the waiting time for private vehicles‘improved by 87.14%to 89.71%’. | Ahmad A.A.Alkhatib Adnan A.Hnaif Thaer Sawalha | 2023 | Computer Systems Science & Engineering2023,47,10: | 0 |
| 15 | Improving Crude Oil Flow Using Graphene Flakes under an Applied Electric Field显示文摘Graphene flakes(GF)have been prepared and assessed as a material for improving flow in oil pipelines under the effect of an electric field. In particular, different amounts of GFs have been considered in order to determine the optimal flow conditions. The GFs were prepared from graphite foam, derived from the dehydration of sugar with a particle size of 500-600μm,which was dispersed in ethanol and exfoliated in a ball mill under a shear force. After 15 h of exfoliation, sonication, and subsequent high-speed centrifugation at 3000 rpm,irregular-shaped GFs of 50-140 nm were produced and characterized using scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffractometry, atomic force microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. The prepared graphene sheets have been found to display excellent morphology and good graphitic structure.Experiments on flow improvement were conducted using the central composite rotatable design method for three parameters:stimulation time(15,30,45,and 60 s),applied voltage(150,170,200,and 220 V),and concentration of the GFs(0,100,200,and 400 mg/L).The optimal conditions for improved crude oil flow were then determined using the STATISTICA and WinQSB software packages. The results have confirmed the effectiveness of the use of the prepared GFs as a flow improver for crude oil, where the flow improvement is essentially a result of a reduction in viscosity and suppression of friction in the crude oil system. | Thaer Al-Jadir Laith S.Sabri Wafaa A.Kadhim Saja Mohsen Alardhi Raheek I.Ibrahim | 2023 | Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,8: | 0 |
| 16 | The Effect of Dividends and Earnings per Share on the Stock Market Value by Moderating Bank Size显示文摘The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of dividend distributions and earnings per share by moderating bank size as measured by its total assets on the stock market value of banks operating in Jordan during the period between 2011 and 2016.The hypotheses of the study were tested based on multiple and hierarchical regression method. The most important result of the study is that the earnings per share is the strongest variable that helps in predicting the stock market value of the bank shares,in addition to the significant effect of bank size as measured by its total assets. | Sanaa Maswadeh Thaer Ahmad Abutaber Mustafa Saeed Alathamneh | 2018 | Journal of Modern Accounting and Auditing2018,14,8: | 0 |
