1Quantitative genetic analysis of chlorophyll a fluorescence parameters in maize in the field environments显示文摘Chlorophyll fluorescence transient from initial to maximum fluorescence('P' step) throughout two intermediate steps('J' and 'I')(JIP‐test) is considered a reliable early quantitative indicator of stress in plants. The JIP‐test is particularly useful for crop plants when applied in variable field environments. The aim of the present study was to conduct a quantitative trait loci(QTL) analysis for nine JIP‐test parameters in maize during flowering in four field environments differing in weather conditions. QTL analysis and identification of putative candidate genes might help to explain the genetic relationship between photosynthesis and different field scenarios in maize plants. The JIP‐test parameters were analyzed in the intermated B73 Mo17(IBM) maize population of 205 recombinant inbred lines. A set of 2,178 molecular markers across the whole maize genome was used for QTL analysis revealing 10 significant QTLs for seven JIP‐test parameters, of which five were co‐localized when combinedover the four environments indicating polygenic inheritance and pleiotropy. Our results demonstrate that QTL analysis of chlorophyll fluorescence parameters was capable of detecting one pleiotropic locus on chromosome 7, coinciding with the gene gst23 that may be associated with efficient photosynthesis under different field scenarios.Domagoj ?imi? 19Cauda equina arachnoiditis–a rare manifestation of West Nile virus neuroinvasive disease:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Data regarding the neuroradiology features of the West Nile virus neuroinvasive disease(WNV NID)is rather scarce.To contribute to the knowledge of the WNV NID,we present a patient with a combination of encephalitis and acute flaccid paresis,with cauda equina arachnoiditis as the main magnetic resonance(MR)finding.CASE SUMMARY A 72-year-old female patient was admitted due to fever,headache and gait instability.During the first several days she developed somnolence,aphasia,urinary incontinence,constipation,and asymmetric lower extremities weakness.Cerebrospinal fluid analysis indicated encephalitis.Native brain computed tomography and MR were unremarkable,while spinal MR demonstrated cauda equina enhancement without cord lesions.Virology testing revealed WNV IgM and IgG antibodies in serum and cerebrospinal fluid,which confirmed acute WNV NID.The treatment was supportive.After two months only a slight improvement was noticed but cognitive impairment,loss of sphincter control and asymmetric inferior extremities weakness remained.The patient died after a month on chronic rehabilitation.CONCLUSION Cauda equina arachnoiditis is a rare,but possible neuroradiological feature in acute flaccid paresis form of WNV NID.Marija Santini Ivana Zupetic Klaudija Viskovic Juraj Krznaric Marko Kutlesa Vladimir Krajinovic Vlatka Lovrakovic Polak Vladimir Savic Irena Tabain Ljubo Barbic Maja Bogdanic Vladimir Stevanovic Anna Mrzljak Tatjana Vilibic-Cavlek 2020World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,17:0
20Six-Year Outcome after Valve Replacement and Resynchronization Therapy in TGA Patient显示文摘Patients with complete transposition of the great arteries(TGA)treated by the Senning procedure have a higher risk of developing heart failure due to:a)additional work load of the systemic(morphologic right)ventricle(sRV),b)arrhythmias,mainly caused by surgical implications at the atria as well as c)worsening of systemic tricuspid regurgitation.We present a unique case of a female patient who developed all these complications,who was successfully treated and was able to carry out a twin pregnancy.This breakthrough approach was based on:1.detecting reversibility potential of myocardial systolic dysfunction in a severe valvular lesion combined with continuous systemic afterload settings and permanent tachyarrhythmia,and 2.prevention of subsequently iatrogenic worsening of systemic ventricular function due to permanent pacing.Surgical replacement of systemic tricuspid valve(sTV)and cardiac resynchronization device(CRT)implantation after nodal ablation resulted in recovering of the systolic function and a positive remodeling of the sRV.The reversal of a further decline in systolic function was achieved by permanent arrhythmia control,synchronous pacing with epicardial leads of CRT,sTV replacement as well as echocardiographic monitoring during pregnancy to determine the right time for delivery.Two years after delivery,the patient remains in NYHA Class I.Jadranka Separovic Hanzevacki Marija Brestovac Vlatka Reskovic Luksic Blanka Glavas Konja Martina Lovric Bencic Josko Bulum Darko Anic 2021Congenital Heart Disease2021,16,5:0
