BLT1 in dendritic cells promotes Th1/Th17 differentiation and its deficiency ameliorates TNBS-induced colitis显示文摘Leukotriene B4(LTB4)synthesis is enhanced in the colonic mucosa in patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).BLT1,a highaffinity receptor for LTB4,exhibits no effect on the progression of dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)-induced colitis, which mostly relies on innate immunity. Here,we reported that BLT1 regulates trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS)-induced colitis, which reflects CD4+T-cell-dependent adaptive immune mechanisms of IBD.We found that BLT1 signaling enhanced the progression of colitis through controlling the production of proinflammatory cytokines by dendritic cells(DCs)and modulating the differentiation of Th1 and Th17.BLT1−/−mice displayed an alleviated severity of TNBS-induced colitis with reduced body weight loss and infiltrating cells in the lamina propria.BLT1 deficiency in DCs led to reduced production of proinflammatory cytokines, including IL-6,TNF-α,and IL-12,and these results were further confirmed via treatment with a BLT1 antagonist. The impaired cytokine production by BLT1−/−DCs subsequently led to reduced Th1 and Th17 differentiation both in vitro and in vivo.We further performed a conditional DC reconstitution experiment to assess whether BLT1 in DCs plays a major role in regulating the pathogenesis of TNBS-induced colitis, and the results indicate that BLT1 deficiency in DCs also significantly reduces disease severity. The mechanistic study demonstrated that BLT1-regulated proinflammatory cytokine production through the Gαiβγsubunit-phospholipase Cβ(PLCβ)-PKC pathway.Notably,we found that treatment with the BLT1 antagonist also reduced the production of proinflammatory cytokines by human peripheral blood DCs.Our findings reveal the critical role of BLT1 in regulating adaptive immunity and TNBS-induced colitis, which further supports BLT1 as a potential drug target for adaptive immunity-mediated IBD. | Jinfeng Zhou Weiming Lai Wanjie Yang Juping Pan Hu Shen Yingying Cai Cuixia Yang Ningjia Ma Yue Zhang Ru Zhang Xin Xie Zhongjun Dong Yuan Gao Changsheng Du | 2018 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,12: | 9
Dynamical decoupling of electron spins in phosphorus-doped silicon显示文摘Quantum coherence is an important enabling feature underpinning quantum computation. However, because of couplings with its noisy surrounding environment, qubits suffer from the decoherence effects. The dynamical decoupling (DD) technique uses pulse-induced qubit flips to effectively mitigate couplings between qubits and environment. Optimal DD eliminates dephasing up to a given order with the minimum number of pulses. In this paper, we first introduce our recent work on prolonging electron spin coherence in γ-irradiated malonic acid crystals and analyze different decoherence mechanisms in this solid system. Then we focus on electron spin relaxation properties in another system, phosphorous-doped silicon (Si:P) crystals. These properties have been investigated by pulse electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). We also investigate the performance of the dynamical decoupling technique on this system. Using 8-pulse periodic DD, the coherence time can be extended to 296 μs compared with 112 μs with one-pulse control. | RONG Xing WANG Ya YANG JiaHui ZHU JinXian XU WanJie FENG PengBo WEN XuJie SU JiHu DU JiangFeng | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,7: | 4
Potential of geosynchronous SAR interferometric measurements in estimating three-dimensional surface displacements显示文摘The ability of differential interferometric synthetic aperture radar(DIn SAR) technology used for centimeter level deformation detection has been well-proved. Nevertheless, the applications of DIn SAR under the low Earth orbit(LEO) are limited to the line-of-sight(LOS) measurements, the limited observation area and the long revisited time. Geosynchronous SAR(GEO SAR), which runs in the height of 36000 km with the advantage of a short revisit time and a large observation area, is a potential approach to overcome the series problems in LEO SAR. This paper focuses on estimating three-dimensional(3D) displacements by using GEO SAR DIn SAR measurements acquired from multiple imaging geometries. Aiming to provide a normal solution for geologic hazard monitoring and relative geophysical application in the future, the errors induced by decorrelation noise, orbital ramp and ionospheric distortion are analyzed for the GEO SAR DIn SAR measurements. A series of experiments have been conducted to find the relationship between the 3D displacements and the DIn SAR observations which are provided with different noises and combinations of imaging geometries. The results reveal that 3D displacements can be expected from the combination of left-and right-looking GEO SAR DIn SAR measurements. In particular, the north-south solution can achieve centimeter and even millimeter level. | Wanji ZHENG Jun HU Wei ZHANG Changjiang YANG Zhiwei LI Jianjun ZHU | 2017 | Science China(Information Sciences)2017,60,6: | 2

Mapping three-dimensional co-seismic surface deformations associated with the 2015 MW7.2 Murghab earthquake based on InSAR and characteristics of crustal strain显示文摘Three-dimensional(3 D) co-seismic surface deformations are of great importance to interpret the characteristics of coseismic deformations and to understand the geometries and dynamics of seismogenic faults. In this paper, we propose a method for mapping 3 D co-seismic deformations based on InSAR observations and crustal strain characteristics. In addition, the search strategy of correlation points is optimized by adaptive correlation distance, which greatly improves the applicability of the proposed method in restoring deformations in decorrelation areas. Results of the simulation experiment reveal that the proposed method is superior to conventional methods in both the accuracy and completeness. The proposed method is then applied to map the 3 D co-seismic surface deformations associated with the 2015 MW7.2 Murghab earthquake using ascending and descending ALOS-2 PALSAR-2 images. The results show that the seismogenic fault is the Sarez-Karakul fault(SKF), which is dominated by NE-SW strike slips with an almost vertical dip angle. The north section and the south segment near the epicentre have obvious subsidence along with a southwestward motion in the northwest wall, and the southeast wall has northeast movement and surface uplift trend along the fault zone. The strain field of the earthquake is also obtained by the proposed method. It is found that the crustal block of the seismic area is obviously affected by dilatation and shear forces, which is in good agreement with the movement character of the sinistral slip. | Jie GAN Jun HU Zhiwei LI Changjiang YANG Jihong LIU Qian SUN Wanji ZHENG | 2018 | Science China Earth Sciences2018,61,10: | 2
A size-dependent composite laminated skew plate model based on a new modified couple stress theory显示文摘In this study, a size-dependent composite laminated skew Mindlin plate model is proposed based on a new modified couple stress theory. This plate model can be viewed as a simplified couple stress theory in engineering mechanics. Governing equations and related boundary conditions are derived based on the principle of minimum potential energy. The Rayleigh–Ritz method is employed to obtain the numerical solutions of the center deflections of simply supported plates with different ply orientations. Numerical results show that the normalized center deflections obtained by the proposed model are always smaller than those obtained by the classical one, i.e. the present model can capture the scale effects of microstructures. Moreover, a phenomenon reveals that the ply orientation would make a significant influence on the magnitude of scale effects of composite laminated plates at micro scale. Additionally, the present model of thick skew plate can be degenerated to the model of Kirchhoff plate based on the modified couple stress theory by adopting the assumptions in Bernoulli–Euler beam and material isotropy. | Dan He Wanli Yang Wanji Chen | 2017 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2017,30,1: | 2
Visible transparent, infrared stealthy polymeric films with nanocoating of ITO@MXene enable efficient passive radiative heating and solar/electric thermal conversion显示文摘Visible transparent yet low infrared-emissivity(ε)polymeric materials are highly anticipated in many applications, whereas the fabrication of which remains a formidable challenge.Herein, visible transparent, flexible, and low-εpolymeric films were fabricated by nanocoating decoration of indium tin oxide(ITO)and MXene on polyethylene terephthalate(PET)film surface through magnetron sputtering and spray coating, respectively. The obtained PET-ITO@MXene(PET-IM)film exhibits lowεof 24.7%and high visible transmittance exceeding 50%,endowing it with excellent visible transparent infrared stealthy by reducing human skin radiation temperature from 32 to 20.8°C,and remarkable zero-energy passive radiative heating capability(5.7°C).Meanwhile,the transparent low-εPET-IM film has high solar absorptivity and electrical conductivity, enabling superior solar/electric to thermal conversion performance.Notably, the three heating modes of passive radiative and active solar/electric can be integrated together to cope with complex heating scenarios. These visible transparent low-εpolymeric films are highly promising in infrared stealth, building daylighting and thermal management, and personal precision heating. | Xingyuan Du Xiangxin Li Yuxuan Zhang Xinyi Guo Zhengji Li Yanxia Cao Yanyu Yang Wanjie Wang Jianfeng Wang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,2: | 1
Manipulating the antioxidative capacity of melanin-like nanoparticles by involving condensation polymerization显示文摘Melanin is ubiquitous in nature and plays important roles in physiological activities especially in keeping the oxidative balance. Both natural and synthetic melanin were synthesized via the free radical polymerization of 5,6-dihydroxyindole(DHI)monomer,which may lead to the inherent compactπ-conjugation stacking microstructures and finally results in limited antioxidative capacities. To address this issue,we have strived to involve condensation polymerization during the melanin synthetic process, aiming to disrupt the compact stacking microstructures and improve the total antioxidative performance. The resulting melaninlike nanoparticles(NPs)indeed possessed less compact stackingπ-conjugation structures and decreased density, which further demonstrated enhanced antioxidative abilities compared with conventional melanin-like polymers such as poly-5,6-dihydroxyindole(Poly-DHI)and polydopamine(PDA).Their excellent free radical scavenging capability was further confirmed by the intracellular cell protection effects against reactive oxygen species(ROS)as well as in vivo therapy for acute diseases including acute kidney injury and acute liver injury. This work would promote future work toward new types of melanin-inspired nanomaterials with tunable and improved functions beyond nature. | Peng Yang Tianyou Wang Jianhua Zhang Hengjie Zhang Wanjie Bai Gaigai Duan Wei Zhang Jinrong Wu Zhipeng Gu Yiwen Li | 2023 | Science China Chemistry2023,66,5: | 1
A Bioinspired Strategy Toward UV Absorption Enhancement of Melaninlike Polymers for Sun Protection显示文摘Due to the complexity of the structure within melanin and synthetic polymers(i.e.,polydopamine,PDA),it is a challenge to regulate the ultraviolet(UV)absorption. In nature, melanocytes can biosynthesize more pheomelanins than eumelanins via protein and gene overexpression for photoprotection when the UV irradiation is enhanced.During this biosynthetic pathway,L-cystine,transported by xCT gene, can be involved to form a new monomer structure incorporating a benzothiazole group, finally resulting in the formation of UV absorption-enhanced pheomelanin.Inspired by this,we have proposed a facile strategy to regulate the UV absorption of PDA by introducing the benzimidazole(BI)unit through the thiol-Michael addition reaction during the polymerization process. It was further found that the introduction of BI units not only significantly increased the content of chromophores and auxochromes, but also effectively restricted the red-shift of the absorption spectrum via interrupting the conjugated microstructure within PDA,both of which contribute to UV absorption enhancement. These UV absorption-enhanced PDA nanoparticles could be used to fabricate bio-inspired sunscreens for efficient sun protection. This work will provide a facile strategy to regulate UV absorption of melanin-like materials and open new horizons for the design and construction of bioinspired sunscreens. | Zhen Yang Jianhua Zhang Huijie Liu Junfei Hu Xianheng Wang Wanjie Bai Wei Zhang Ye Yang Zhipeng Gu Yiwen Li | 2023 | CCS Chemistry2023,5,10: | 1
Low infrared emitter from Ti3C2Tx MXene towards highly-efficient electric/solar and passive radiative heating显示文摘Realizing all-day and all-weather energy-saving heating is crucial for mitigating the global energy and ecology crisis.Electric/solar heating are two promising heating approaches, yet materials with high elec-trical conductivity, high solar absorptivity, and low infrared emissivity at the same time are rare in na-ture,which are highly anticipated and of great significance for highly efficient electric/solar heating. In this work,we demonstrate that Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) MXene with low IR emissivity(14.5%)fills the gap in the absence of the above materials, exhibiting a remarkable electric/solar heating performance. The saturated heating temperature of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) film reaches a record-high value of 201°C at a low driving voltage of 1.5 V,and reaches 84.3°C under practical solar irradiation(750 W/m^(2))with a high solar to the thermal conversion efficiency of 75.3%,which is far superior to other reported materials.Meanwhile, the low IR emissivity endows Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) with a remarkable passive radiative heating capability of 7.0°C,ensuring zero-energy heating without electric/solar energy supply. The intrinsic characteristic of high electrical conductivity, high solar absorptivity, and low IR emissivity makes Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) unique existence in nature, which is highly promising for all-day and all-weather energy-saving heating. | Mingming Shen Jiahao Ni Yanxia Cao Yanyu Yang Wanjie Wang Jianfeng Wang | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,2: | 1
Effect of bond length and radius on superconducting transition temperature for FeAs-based superconductors显示文摘By comparing the data of lattice parameters of more than 50 new FeAs-based high temperature superconductors in two syetems, the effect of bondlength on superconducting transition temperature (T C ) was found that, for both FeAs superconductor systems with similar ionic radii of cation A, the bond length L As-A between Arsenic atom and its nearest neighbor cation at the A site is in an inverse proportion to T C , i.e. the larger the bond length L As-A , the lower the T C . In addition, we also found a noticeable effect of ionic radius on T C , in which deviation from the tendency line of bond length vs. T C decreases with the increasing ionic radius. Both bond length-T C and ionic radii-T C relations indicate that the interaction of cation A and As ion have significant effect on superconductivity. The analysis on the electronic structure indicates that there exists the proximity of the secondary-outer p-orbit of the cation A and the 4s orbit of the As ion, both in energy space and in real space. Some high frequency individual vibrating modes would be established through exchange coupling on their inner orbits. It is worth of mention that the superconducting condensation is influenced by the interaction between the cation A and the As atoms. | CHEN Ning 1 , LIU Yang 1 , JIA YaKui 1 , QU ShaoPeng 1 , ZHANG WanJie 1 & LI Yang 2 1 School of Material Science and Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China 2 Department of Engineering Science and Materials, University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez, Mayaguez PR 00681-9044, USA | 2010 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,1: | 0
A REVIEW ON ARTERY WALL SEGMENTATION TECHNIQUES AND INTIMA-MEDIA THICKNESS MEASUREMENT FOR CAROTID ULTRASOUND IMAGES显示文摘Stroke and heart attack, which could be led by a kind of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular disease named as atherosclerosis, would seriously cause human morbidity and mortality. It is important for the early stage diagnosis and monitoring medical intervention of the atherosclerosis.Carotid stenosis is a classical atherosclerotic lesion with vessel wall narrowing down and accumulating plaques burden. The carotid artery of intima-media thickness(IMT)is a key indicator to the disease. With the development of computer assisted diagnosis technology, the imaging techniques, segmentation algorithms, measurement methods, and evaluation tools have made considerable progress.Ultrasound imaging, being real-time,economic,reliable,and safe, now seems to become a standard in vascular assessment methodology especially for the measurement of IMT.This review firstly attempts to discuss the clinical relevance of measurements in clinical practice at first, and then followed by the challenges that one has to face when approaching the segmentation of ultrasound images.Secondly, the commonly used methods for the IMT segmentation and measurement are presented.Thirdly, discussion and evaluation of different segmentation techniques are performed. An overview of summary and future perspectives is given finally. | XIN YANG WANJI HE KAITONG LI JIAOYING JIN XUMING ZHANG MING YUCHI MINGYUE DING | 2012 | Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2012,5,1: | 0
Dietary ribose supplementation improves flesh quality through purine metabolism in gibel carp(Carassius auratus gibelio)显示文摘Since the aquaculture industry is currently observing a deterioration in the flesh quality of farmed fish, the use of nutrients as additives to improve the flesh quality of farmed fish species is a viable strategy. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of dietary D-ribose(RI)on the nutritional value, texture and flavour of gibel carp(Carassius auratus gibelio).Four diets were formulated containing exogenous RI at 4 gradient levels:0(Control),0.15%(0.15RI),0.30%(0.30RI)and 0.45%(0.45RI).A total of 240 fish(150±0.31 g)were randomly distributed into 12 fibreglass tanks(150 L per tank).Triplicate tanks were randomly assigned to each diet. The feeding trial was carried out in an indoor recirculating aquaculture system for 60 d.After the feeding trial, the muscle and liver of gibel carp were analysed. The results showed that RI supplementation did not result in any negative impact on the growth performance and 0.30RI supplementation significantly increased the whole-body protein content compared to the control group. The contents of collagen and glycogen in muscle were enhanced by RI supplementation. The alterations in the flesh indicated that RI supplementation improved the texture of the flesh in terms of its water-holding capacity and hardness, therefore improving the taste.Dietary RI facilitated the deposition of amino acids and fatty acids in the muscle that contributed to the meaty taste and nutritional value.Furthermore,a combination of metabolomics and expression of key genes in liver and muscle revealed that 0.30RI activated the purine metabolism pathways by supplementing the substrate for nucleotide synthesis and thereby promoting the deposition of flavour substance in flesh. This study offers a new approach for providing healthy, nutritious and flavourful aquatic products. | Wanjie Cai Lele Fu Cui Liu Linyue He Haokun Liu Dong Han Xiaoming Zhu Yunxia Yang Junyan Jin Shouqi Xie | 2023 | Animal Nutrition2023,,2: | 0
Desirable molecule discovery via generative latent space exploration显示文摘Drug molecule design is a classic research topic.Drug experts traditionally design molecules relying on their experience.Manual drug design is time-consuming and may produce low-efficacy and offtarget molecules. With the popularity of deep learning, drug experts are beginning to use generative models to design drug molecules.A well-trained generative model can learn the distribution of training samples and infinitely generate drug-like molecules similar to the training samples. The automatic process improves design efficiency. However, most existing methods focus on proposing and optimizing generative models. How to discover ideal molecules from massive candidates is still an unresolved challenge. We propose a visualization system to discover ideal drug molecules generated by generative models. In this paper,we investigated the requirements and issues of drug design experts when using generative models,i.e.,generating molecular structures with specific constraints and finding other molecular structures similar to potential drug molecular structures. We formalized the first problem as an optimization problem and proposed using a genetic algorithm to solve it.For the second problem,we proposed using a neighborhood sampling algorithm based on the continuity of the latent space to find solutions. We integrated the proposed algorithms into a visualization tool, and a case study for discovering potential drug molecules to make KOR agonists and experiments demonstrated the utility of our approach. | Wanjie Zheng Jie Li Yang Zhang | 2023 | Visual Informatics2023,7,4: | 0
Endozoochorous seed dispersal by golden snub-nosed monkeys in a temperate forest显示文摘Seed dispersal is essential for plant recruitment and the maintenance of biodiversity.Colobine monkeys are primarily folivorous, but they also consume fruits and are often assumed to be seed predators.Although they are known to be epizoochorous seed dispersers, their role as endozoochorous seed dispersers needs reassessment. We examined potential endozoochory in golden snub-nosed monkeys(Rhinopithecus roxellana)at Dalongtan in Shennongjia National Park, central China,by assessing potential germination of ingested seeds(n=1806,9 species)from fecal samples.Intact seeds were in almost all fecal samples(ranging from 5-130 seeds),and ingested seeds were from small seeded species(seed width<4.5 mm).The 2 most abundant species were Actinidia arguta(73%)and Rosa caudata(15%).The fruits of A.arguta were unripe when ingested(i.e.effective seed predation)and the ingested seeds did not germinate in the trials. Therefore, ingestion of unripe seeds does not lead to effective seed dispersal. However, germination rates of defecated R.caudata(9%)were greater than control seeds(6%and 0%),demon-strating potential endozoochorous seed dispersal. Thus, colobine monkeys do indeed disperse mainly small-seeded from multi-seeded fruits through potential endozoochory and this process enhances the recruitment of seedlings. | Hui YAO Yanpei BAI Yuan CHEN Haochun CHEN Wanji YANG Xiangdong RUAN Zuofu XIANG | 2021 | Integrative Zoology2021,16,1: | 0
