| 1 | Sensitive electrochemical DNA sensor for the detection of HIV based on a polyaniline/graphene nanocomposite显示文摘A nanocomposite of polyaniline/graphene(PAN/GN)was prepared using reverse-phase polymerization. The nanocomposite material was dropcast onto a glassy carbon electrode(GCE).Then,a single-stranded DNA(ssDNA)probe for HIV-1 gene detection was immobilized on the modified electrode, and the negative charged phosphate backbone of the HIV-1 was bound to the modified electrode surface via p-p*stacking interactions. The hybridization between the ssDNA probe and the target HIV-1 formed doublestranded DNA(dsDNA),and the electron transfer resistance of the electrode was measured using impedimetric studies with a[Fe(CN)6]^(3-/4-)redox couple.Under the optimized experimental conditions, the change of the impedance value was linearly related to the logarithm of the concentration of HIV genes in the range from 5.0×10^(-16)M to 1.0×10^(-10)M(R=0.9930),and the HIV sensor exhibited a lower detection limit of 1.0×10^(-16)M(S/N=3).The results show that this biosensor presented wonderful selectivity, sensitivity and specificity for HIV-1 gene detection. Thus, this biosensor provides a new method for the detection of HIV gene fragments. | Qiaojuan Gong Haixia Han Haiying Yang Meiling Zhang Xiaoling Sun Yunxia Liang Zhaorong Liu Wenchan Zhang Jinli Qiao | 2019 | Journal of Materiomics2019,5,2: | 5 |
| 2 | Photonic matrix multiplication lights up photonicaccelerator and beyond显示文摘Matrix computation,as a fundamental building block of information processing in science and technology, contributes most of the computational overheads in modern signal processing and artificial intelligence algorithms.Photonic accelerators are designed to accelerate specific categories of computing in the optical domain, especially matrix multiplication,to address the growing demand for computing resources and capacity.Photonic matrix multiplication has much potential to expand the domain of telecommunication, and artificial intelligence benefiting from its superior performance.Recent research in photonic matrix multiplication has flourished and may provide opportunities to develop applications that are unachievable at present by conventional electronic processors. In this review,we first introduce the methods of photonic matrix multiplication, mainly including the plane light conversion method,Mach–Zehnder interferometer method and wavelength division multiplexing method. We also summarize the developmental milestones of photonic matrix multiplication and the related applications. Then,we review their detailed advances in applications to optical signal processing and artificial neural networks in recent years. Finally,we comment on the challenges and perspectives of photonic matrix multiplication and photonic acceleration. | Hailong Zhou Jianji Dong Junwei Cheng Wenchan Dong Chaoran Huang Yichen Shen Qiming Zhang Min Gu Chao Qian Hongsheng Chen Zhichao Ruan Xinliang Zhang | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,2: | 4 |
| 3 | Efficacy of second-course intra-arterial chemotherapy in children for advanced retinoblastoma recurrence after intra-arterial chemotherapy显示文摘Purpose: The present study determined the efficacy and toxicity of second-course intra-arterial chemotherapy(IAC) in advanced retinoblastoma(RB) recurrence in children following failed initial IAC. Materials and Methods: A total of 24 child patients with unilateral or bilateral intra-ocular advanced RB(IIRC Group D and Group E) undergoing second-course IAC treatment after initial intra-arterial chemotherapy between September 2011 and November 2016 were enrolled. Global salvage, ocular adverse events, and systemic adverse events were assessed. Results: Following second-course IAC, 15(62.5%) showed complete control at 34 months follow-up, while 8 cases(33.3%) failed the treatment and 1 patient with metastatic disease(4.2%) eventually died of brain metastasis after refusing treatment. Ocular adverse events included eyelid edema(n=12), ptosis(n=5), forehead erythema(n-5), enophthalmos(n=3), and cataract(n=2). None of the patients had systemic adverse events, such as stroke or sepsis. Also, no secondary neoplasms and technical complications were observed. Conclusion: Second-course IAC is a potential alternative to enucleation in children with advanced RB, who fail an initial course of IAC. However, patients with advanced RB should be managed at experienced centers in order to consider all the alternatives before enucleation. | Hua Jiang Gang Shen Wenchan Xu Chuanqiang Niu Zhenyin Liu Jiejun Xia Jing Zhang | 2018 | Journal of Interventional Medicine2018,1,2: | 2 |
| 4 | Enhanced optical nonlinearity in a silicon–organic hybrid slot waveguide for all-optical signal processing显示文摘Silicon photonic integrated devices used for nonlinear optical signal processing play a key role in ultrafast switching, computing, and modern optical communications. However, current devices suffer from limited operation speeds and low conversion efficiencies due to the intrinsically low nonlinear index of silicon. In this paper,we experimentally demonstrate enhanced optical nonlinearity in a silicon–organic hybrid slot waveguide consisting of an ultranarrow slot waveguide coated with a highly nonlinear organic material. The fabricated slot area is as narrow as 45 nm,which is,to the best of our knowledge, the narrowest slot width that has been experimentally reported in silicon slot waveguides. The nonlinear coefficient of the proposed device with a length of 3 mm is measured to be up to 1.43×10^(6) W^(-1)km^(-1).Based on the nanostructure design, the conversion efficiencies of degenerate four-wave mixing showed enhancements of more than 12 dB and 5 dB compared to those measured for an identical device without the organic material and a silicon strip waveguide, respectively. As a proof of concept,all-optical canonical logic units based on the prepared device with two inputs at 40 Gb/s are analyzed. The obtained logic results showed clear temporal waveforms and wide-open eye diagrams with error-free performance, illustrating that our device has great potential for use in high-speed all-optical signal processing and high-performance computing in the nodes and terminals of optical networks. | YONGHUA WANG SU HE XIAOYAN GAO PIAOPIAO YE LEI LEI WENCHAN DONG XINLIANG ZHANG PING XU | 2022 | Photonics Research2022,10,1: | 1 |
