3Application of enriched stable isotope technique to the study of copper bioavailability in Daphnia magna显示文摘The biokinetics of Cu in Daphnia magna, including dissolved uptake, assimilation and efflux, has been determined using a gamma 67 Cu radiotracer methodology. However, this gamma emitting radioisotope is not readily available due to its very short half-life. In the present study, we employed a stable isotope tracer ( 65 Cu) to determine the Cu biokinetics and compared our results to those determined using 67 Cu. The dissolved uptake rate constant of 65 Cu was 3.36 L/(g·day), which is higher than that of 67 Cu (1.32 L/(g·day)). With increasing food concentrations from 2×10 4 to 1×10 5 cells/mL, the Cu assimilation efficiency (AE) decreased from 46% to 11%, compared to a decrease from 27% to 16% when determined using 67 Cu. The efflux of Cu from Daphnia magna was quantified following both dissolved and dietary uptake. The efflux of waterborne Cu was comparable to that of dietborne Cu and the efflux rate constant (0.32-0.52 day 1 ) was higher than that determined by 67 Cu (0.19-0.20 day 1 ). By considering different water properties and handling procedure between the two experiments, we believe that these differences are reasonable. 5High-performance all-polymer solar cells enabled by a novel low bandgap non-fully conjugated polymer acceptor显示文摘The non-fully conjugated polymer as a new class of acceptor materials has shown some advantages over its small molecular counterpart when used in photoactive layers for all-polymer solar cells(all-PSCs),despite a low power conversion efficiency(PCE)caused by its narrow absorption spectra.Herein,a novel non-fully conjugated polymer acceptor PFY-2TS with a low bandgap of~1.40 eV was developed,via polymerizing a largeπ-fused small molecule acceptor(SMA)building block(namely YBO)with a non-conjugated thioalkyl linkage.Compared with its precursor YBO,PFY-2TS retains a similar low bandgap but a higher LUMO level.Moreover,compared with the structural analog of YBO-based fully conjugated polymer acceptor PFY-DTC,PFY-2TS shows a similar absorption spectrum and electron mobility,but significantly different molecular crystallinity and aggregation properties,which results in optimal blend morphology with a polymer donor PBDB-T and physical processes of the device in all-PSCs.As a result,PFY-2TS-based all-PSCs achieved a PCE of 12.31%with a small energy loss of 0.56 eV enabled by the reduced non-radiative energy loss(0.24 eV),which is better than that of 11.08%for the PFY-DTC-based ones.Our work clearly demonstrated that non-fully conjugated polymers as a new class of acceptor materials are very promising for the development of high-performance all-PSCs.Qunping Fan Ruijie Ma Tao Liu Jianwei Yu Yiqun Xiao Wenyan Su Guilong Cai Yuxiang Li Wenhong Peng Tao Guo Zhenghui Luo Huiliang Sun Lintao Hou Weiguo Zhu Xinhui Lu Feng Gao Ellen Moons Donghong Yu He Yan Ergang Wang 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,8:3

9The cloning and preliminarily functional analysis of the human neurotrimin gene显示文摘Proteins of the immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF) are involved in a variety of spe- cific cell-cell interactions in the developing nervous system. To identify and characterize new members of this protein family in human nervous system, we screen the human fetal brain cDNA library and isolate a full-length cDNA clone which contains a 1032 bp open reading frame en- coding a protein of 344 amino acids. Sequence analysis reveals that it is a glycoprotein com- prised of three C2-1ike immunoglobulin domains and is anchored to the plasma membrane via a post-translationally attached glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol (GPI) moiety. The protein shows high sequence similarity to the rat Ntm (97%), so we term it human neurotrimin (NTM). Northern blot analysis reveals that (HUMAN)NTM has three different transcripts with the length of 3.2 kb, 4.0 kb and 9.0 kb respectively. It has a wider expression pattern than that of (RAT) Ntm. Notably, the expression of NTM in fetal brain is higher than that in mature brain and is stronger in nervous tumors than that in normal brain tissues. We insert an HA epitope tag between the third Ig-like domain of NTM and the site of GPI attachment, then construct it into the eukaryotic expression vector pcDNA3.1+/Zeocin. The pcDNA3.1-HA-NTM is transfected into the Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells. 18Outcomes of surgery for epiblepharon accompanied with lower eyelid retraction secondary to buphthalmos in children显示文摘Importance:In cases of epiblepharon with lower eyelid retraction secondary to glaucoma,correcting epiblepharon alone is ineffective.Combined surgery should be performed to obtain satisfactory outcomes.Objective:To investigate outcomes after surgery to correct epiblepharon with lower eyelid retraction secondary to buphthalmos in children.Methods:A retrospective analysis of six eyes in four patients was performed included lower lid retractor recession combined with marginal rotation with tarsal fixation.The margin reflex distance-2,lagophthalmus,resolution of clinical symptoms,and complications were assessed during 6 to 12 months of follow-up.Results:In all cases,epiblepharon and lagophthalmus were corrected,symptoms of photophobia and epiphora were relieved,and the corneal epithelium was repaired.The margin reflex distance-2 decreased and remained normal during the follow-up period,but slightly regressed within 6 months postoperatively.Interpretation:Epiblepharon caused by buphthalmos in children is often associated with lower eyelid retraction.Lower lid retractor recession combined with marginal rotation with tarsal fixation fundamentally solves the problems of high eyelid tension,lower eyelid retraction,and epiblepharon and reduces the recurrence rate.Wenhong Cao Yuan Wang Li Li Yunwei Fan Wen Liu Cheng Li Tianwei Liang Junyan Zhang Qian Wu 2021Pediatric Investigation2021,5,4:0
