| 18 | The effect of reforestation on stream flow in Upper Nan river basin using Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)model显示文摘Forests are an important natural resource,vital to all life.Forests are an important source of food,clothing,and medicines,as well as a place to live.Water released from forests drains into the soil causing groundwater to emerge as stream flow throughout the year.In Thailand,most forests have been encroached by logging,paper production,and housing construction.Population growth and the need for farming area for crop and livestock production have also caused forest encroachment.Technical tools are needed to support the decision makers and planners if they are to achieve objectives of water conservation,and development.These technical tools are needed for assistance in the engineering,socio-economic,and environmental planning.The Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)was used in the hydrological modeling in this study of the complex and dynamic problems of The Upper Nan river basin.This was a case study to evaluate the impact of changing conditions in the river basin affected by the stream flow due to reforestation.The watershed area was delineated into 5 sub-watersheds based on surface topography provided by the Digital Elevation Model(DEM)and the parameters of each of these watersheds were calculated.The land use data was processed and reclassified to match with the SWAT model land use code.Ten different categories of land use in the study area were used for SWAT processing.Types of land use consist of:mixed forest(33.7%),disturbed forest(30.2%),evergreen forest(17.7%),paddy field(7.1%),orchard(3.7%),range brush(2.7%),field crop(1.7%),planted forest(1.7%),urban(1.4%)and water resources(0.4%).Twenty-two types of soil were found in the basin.The initial curve number values were assigned based on the land use type and soil hydrologic group for the average antecedent moisture condition of the curve number method.The potential evapotranspiration was computed using the Penman-Monteith method.The simulation was performed using three reforestation scenarios to assess stream flow:(1)improved disturbed forest,(2)field crops and range grass,and(3)both disturbed forest and field crops.The results of reforestation from scenarios 1 and 3 can increase stream flow in the drought season and can also reduce the flow in the wet season in the main stream and its tributaries.For scenario 2 Reforestation had no significant effect on the main stream. | Winai Wangpimool Kobkiat Pongput Chinnapat Sukvibool Samran Sombatpanit Philip W.Gassman | 2013 | International Soil and Water Conservation Research2013,1,2: | 0 |
| 19 | Incidence and predisposing factors of anterior chamber gas bubbles during femtosecond laser flap creation显示文摘AIM:To investigate the incidence and the predisposing factors of anterior chamber(AC)gas bubbles during femtosecond laser(FS)flap creation for laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK).METHODS:All patients who underwent FS-LASIK surgery at CMU LASIK Center between January 2013 and May 2016 were retrospective reviewed.Preoperative and intraoperative data including keratometry,white-towhite(WTW)corneal diameter,flap parameters(diameter,thickness,hinge position,and tunnel length)and pulse energy were reviewed and compared between incident group and control group.To determine the risk factors,univariate and multivariate conditional logistic regression were used;the eye was unit of analysis.RESULTS:The incidence of AC gas bubbles was 1.6%(22 out of 1378 eyes).The median WTW in the AC bubbles group was 11.5 mm(range 11.1-12.1),which was significantly different from the control group(11.7 mm,range 10.5-12.8,P=0.021).The result of the median WTW minus the flap diameter in the AC bubbles group was 2.5 mm(range 2.1-3.2),which was statistically different to the control group(2.7 mm,range 1.5-3.8,P=0.008).The logistic regression analysis showed that the result of the WTW minus the flap diameter in the AC bubbles group had an adjusted odds ratio of 0.204(95%CI;0.056-0.747,P=0.016).CONCLUSION:Development of AC gas bubbles during FS flap creation is not an uncommon event in Asian eyes which typically have a small WTW.The flap diameter when adjusted relatively to the WTW is a predisposing factor to the possibility of AC gas bubbles occurrence. | Muanploy Niparugs Sumet Supalaset Chulaluck Tangmonkongvoragul Napaporn Tananuvat Winai Chaidaroon Somsanguan Ausayakhun | 2020 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2020,13,8: | 0 |
| 20 | Fish Meal Lecithin as Alternative Precursor of Docosahexaenoate and Choline显示文摘Choline and docosahexaenoate (DHA) are essential nutrients for maintaining normal brain function. However, their existence in fish lecithin is ignored and excluded during the degumming step of conventional fish oil manufacturing process. The study aims to introduce fish lecithin as alternative precursor of choline and omega-3 fatty acids especially DHA for nutritional supplements. Four grades of Thai fish meals with protein contents ranging from 60-70% were used. Their lipid characteristics were examined. Fish meal’s fats and lecithln were 9-15 and 2-3 g/100 g, respectively. Total fatty acids constitute 23-27% monoenes without erucic acid and 24-28% polyenes including 15-19% DHA. Lecithin with 50% purity was prepared from grade-1 fish meal by means of consecutive methanol/nhexane/acetone extraction. The obtained lecithin contains choline upto 66-70 mole% with DHA reaches to 20-23%. Its peroxide value of 57 and acid value of 9 are accepted for food grade leclthin preparation, however, the further refinery process is still suggested.
