1Internet of Things for the Future of Smart Agriculture: A Comprehensive Survey of Emerging Technologies显示文摘This paper presents a comprehensive review of emerging technologies for the internet of things(IoT)-based smart agriculture.We begin by summarizing the existing surveys and describing emergent technologies for the agricultural IoT,such as unmanned aerial vehicles,wireless technologies,open-source IoT platforms,software defined networking(SDN),network function virtualization(NFV)technologies,cloud/fog computing,and middleware platforms.We also provide a classification of IoT applications for smart agriculture into seven categories:including smart monitoring,smart water management,agrochemicals applications,disease management,smart harvesting,supply chain management,and smart agricultural practices.Moreover,we provide a taxonomy and a side-by-side comparison of the state-ofthe-art methods toward supply chain management based on the blockchain technology for agricultural IoTs.Furthermore,we present real projects that use most of the aforementioned technologies,which demonstrate their great performance in the field of smart agriculture.Finally,we highlight open research challenges and discuss possible future research directions for agricultural IoTs.Othmane Friha Mohamed Amine Ferrag Lei Shu Leandros Maglaras Xiaochan Wang 2021IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2021,8,4:15

3Fertilization strategy and application model using a centrifugal variable-rate fertilizer spreader显示文摘With the sustainable development of precision agriculture and the steady progress of variable-rate fertilization technology,the centrifugal variable-rate fertilizer spreader has attracted research attention due to its lower incidence of crush damage,high efficiency,and low cost.To improve fertilization accuracy and uniformity,spreading performance tests were conducted using this spreader in accordance with the test methods specified in ISO 5690 and ASAE S341.2,in which particle mass was weighed in a two-dimensional matrix of collection boxes.The effects of fertilization strategies that control the feed gate flow rate and the disc rotation speed on particle distribution,and application rate per unit area and effective swath width,were investigated.A variable-rate fertilization model was developed by analyzing the variation characteristics resulting from an increasing and decreasing application rate,and field experiments were conducted to verify its accuracy.The results indicated that when the feed gate flow rate was 300 g/s,the mean application rate was 26.47 g,the standard deviation is 2.81,and the coefficient of variation of particle distribution is at its minimum value of 14.25%.When the disc rotation speed was 600 r/min,the fertilizer was most evenly distributed with a coefficient of variation of 13.86%,and an average effective spreader swath width of 24.51 m.The proposed variable-rate fertilization model showed a high fitting degree with an S-shaped function curve for both increasing and decreasing distribution rates and the yielding coefficients of determination were more than 0.82 and 0.71,respectively.The average error between the model predictions and the test results was 9.47%,and the coefficients of determination for the increasing and decreasing distribution rates were 0.91 and 0.82,respectively,which confirmed the accuracy of the proposed variable-rate fertilization model.This investigation provided a theoretical basis for traditional empirical fertilization using centrifugal variable-rate fertilizer spreaders,and guides the selection of a multiple trajectory,variable-rate fertilization strategy.Yinyan Shi Zhichao Hu Xiaochan Wang Morice O.Odhiambo Guoxiang Sun 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,6:6

5Image segmentation algorithm for greenhouse cucumber canopy under various natural lighting conditions显示文摘In this study,machine vision technology was used to capture images of greenhouse cucumber canopy,and image segmentation was implemented under various natural lighting conditions.The images were enhanced by multi-scale retinex with color restore(MSRCR),and the MSRCR images were segmented by four algorithms:normalized difference index(NDI),excess green(ExG),modified excess green(MExG),and modified excess green minus excess red(MExG-ExR).The results indicated that compared with the original images,under various lighting conditions,the average evaluation indexes of brightness,information entropy,average gradient and mean gray value of the MSRCR images were increased by 38.71%,8.04%,4.54%,and 37.81%,respectively,and only the contrast degree decreased by 12.13%.The MExG-ExR segmentation algorithm was used to segment the MSRCR images(fifty images under various lighting conditions in the test and it performed best among the four segmentation algorithms,average overlap ratios and recognition rates of were 99.28%and 98.91%,respectively,while 38.39%and 37.95%respectively for original image.These results indicated that the MExG-ExR segmentation algorithm applied to a MSRCR canopy image produced the most stable results among the four algorithms.By using the MSRCR image enhancement algorithm,the interference of lighting on greenhouse cucumber canopy images was reduced and the foundation for achieving accurate segmentation of a canopy region was laid,which is of great significance for greenhouse cucumber phenotypic parameter measurements.Sun Guoxiang Li Yongbo Wang Xiaochan Hu Guyue Wang Xuan Zhang Yu 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,3:4
6Novel sol-gel material for fabrication of a long period waveguide grating filter as a precise thermometer显示文摘A new kind of organic-inorganic hybrid HfO 2/SiO 2 sol-gel material with a large thermo-optic coefficient and a wide linear tunable temperature range has been developed for fabrication of a long period waveguide grating (LPWG) filter,whose parameters were optimized and designed by using finite difference time domain (FDTD) simulations.The LPWG filter,a periodic rectangle-corrugated grating structure,was easily fabricated with soft-lithography technique.At a temperature range from 19°C to 70°C,the fabricated LPWG filter element demonstrated a high temperature sensitivity of about 6.5 nm/°C and a wide linear tunable temperature range of 51°C,so that it can be used as a precise thermometer.Our results are useful for the designs of LPWG filters for the implementation of a wide range of thermo-optic functions.WANG Xin LI XiaoChan ZHANG Tao HU CanDong ZHU QiuXiang CHEN SiHai LI Yun XU Jia HE Miao NIU QiaoLi ZHAO LingZhi LI ShuTi ZHANG Yong 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,11:2

9Response characteristics and efficiency of variable rate fertilization based on spectral reflectance显示文摘The key technical problem of variable rate fertilization system based on spectrum information was precise variable fertilization in certain area according to the acquired spectrum information.Hysteretic fertilizing is a critical problem in most of current fertilizer equipment.Hysteresis model was built and analyzed in this study to improve the system.Fertilizing tests were conducted on different wheat breeds and the results were analyzed.The tests showed that variable rate fertilization had obvious hysteresis phenomenon with the maximum lag distance of 3.82 m,the minimum lag distance of 1.73 m and average of 3.06 m.Hysteresis phenomenon of the variable rate fertilization system was obviously decreased when implanting a correction time of 2.04 s with the maximum lag distance of 0.61 m.Variable effects varied by different wheat breeds.Variable rate fertilization had an advantage of improving spatial differences of Yangmai-23,and the spatial variability of which decreased by 14.23%.In the small test area,the amount of fertilizer in Zhenmai-168 decreased by 2.84 kg,while the amount of which in Yangmai-23 increased by 3.83 kg.Yield of Zhenmai-168 in small area was lower than that in traditional pattern,but the condition of Yangmai-23 was on the contrary.Valuable information for increasing performance of fertilization in variable rate fertilization system was provided in this paper.Man Chen Zhenjie Yang Xiaochan Wang Yinyan Shi Yu Zhang 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,6:1
10Sea salt bittern-driven forward osmosis for nutrient recovery from black water: A dual waste-to-resource innovation via the osmotic membrane process显示文摘A dual“waste-to-resource”innovation in nutrient enrichment and recovery from domestic black water using a sea salt bittern(SSB)-driven forward osmosis(FO)process is proposed and demonstrated.The performance of SSB as a“waste-to-resource”draw solution for FO was first evaluated.A synthetic SSB-driven FO provided a water flux of25.67±3.36 L/m2 h,which was 1.5-1.7 times compared with synthetic seawater,1 M NaCl,and 1M MgCL.Slightly compromised performance regarding reverse solute selectivity was observed.In compensation,the enhanced reverse diffusion of Mg+suggested superior potential in terms of recovering nutrients in the form of struvite precipitation.The nutrient enrichment was performed using both the pre-filtered influent and effluent of a domestic septic tank.Over 80%of phosphate-P recovery was achieved from both low-and high-strength black water at a feed volume reduction up to 80%^90%.With an elevated feed pH(~9),approximately 60%-85%enriched phosphate-P was able to be recovered in the form of precipitated stuvite.Whereas the enrichment performance of total Kjeldahl nitrogen(TKN)largely differed depending on the strength of black water.Improved concentration factor(i.e.,3-folds)and retention(>60%)of TKN was obtained in the high-nutrient-strength black water at a feed volume reduction of 80%,in comparison with a weak TKN enrichment observed in low-strength black water.The results suggested a good potential for nutrient recovery based on this dual“waste-to-resource”FO system with proper management of membrane cleaning.Wenchao Xue May Zaw Xiaochan An Yunxia Hu Allan Sriratana Tabucanon 2020Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2020,14,2:1
11Experiment and analysis on mechanical properties of Artemisia selengensis stalk显示文摘The technology used for the storage and transportation of Artemisia selengensis is becoming increasingly important with its increasing consumption and demand;moreover,the amounts of artificial planting contribute to the challenges in Artemisia selengensis harvesting.Therefore,the mechanical property parameters of the Artemisia selengensis stalks were determined and researched to reduce the mechanical damage during harvesting,transportation,processing and storage.The Artemisia selengensis stalks were taken as the test object and a physical test method was adopted to study the impact of different positions,diameters,and directions on the mechanical properties by using the TMS-Pro texture analyzer;then,the relevant changing trends of the characteristic mechanical parameters were analyzed using statistical software.In the compression test,the compression load-deformation curve was observed and the breaking force and deformation were obtained;then,the compressive strength,elastic modulus and compression energy were computed.Next,the curve-fitting of the compressive strength and compression energy was carried out.In the shear test,the shear stress-deformation curve was obtained and the shear force,deformation,shear strength,and shear work were calculated.Then,the regression fitting of the section area,peak shearing stress and shearing work was conducted.Finally,in the last bending test,the bending stress-deformation curve,bending peak force,deformation,and bending work were obtained.Then the bending forces of other plants were tested,the results were compared and analyzed with the theoretical values,and finally the regression fittings were implemented.All the analysis results showed that Artemisia selengensis stalks can be considered to be anisotropic materials.The results also showed that the compressive strength and elastic modulus decreased with the height of stalk position,while the deformation increased.In addition,with the increase in the stalk diameter,the bending strength and fracture mechanical work increased,while the deformation decreased.The research results can provide a theoretical basis and reference for the design of the harvest equipment of Artemisia selengensis while minimizing its mechanical damage.Shi Yinyan Chen Man Wang Xiaochan Zhang Yongnian Morice O.Odhiambo 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,2:1
12Verteporfin-mediated on/off photoswitching functions synergistically to treat choroidal vascular diseases显示文摘Choroidal vascular diseases,such as age-related macular degeneration,are the leading cause of vision impairment and are characterized by pathological angiogenesis.Verteporfin-mediated photodynamic therapy is a current strategy that selectively occludes choroidal neovasculature.However,the clinically used large-dose systemic administration increases the risk of systemic adverse events,such as phototoxicity to superficial tissues.In this study,we developed an in situ verteporfin delivery system with a photoswitching synergistic function that disassembles in response to intraocular inflammatory enzymes.Under light-on conditions,verteporfin-mediated photodynamic therapy effectively occurs and this leads to vascular occlusion.Under light-off conditions,non-photoactive verteporfin negatively regulates vascular endothelial growth factor-induced angiogenesis as a yes-associated protein inhibitor.Taken together,our system serves as an intraocular verteporfin reservoir to improve the bioavailability of verteporfin by innovatively exploiting its photochemical and biological functions.This work provides a promising strategy with synergistic antiangiogenic effects for the treatment of choroidal vascular diseases.Yahan Ju Xiaochan Dai Zhimin Tang Zunzhen Ming Ni Ni Dongqing Zhu Jing Zhang Bo Ma Jiajing Wang Rui Huang Siyu Zhao Yan Pang Ping Gu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,8:0

14Controlled synthesis of hierarchically-structured MnCo_2O_4 and its potential as a high performance anode material显示文摘To satisfy the upsurging demand for energy storage in modern society,anode materials which can deliver high capacity have been intensively researched for the next generation lithium ion batteries.Typically,the binary MnCo_2O_4 with a characteristic coupled metal cations showed promising potential due to its high theoretical capacity and low cost.Here,by means of a well-designed synthesis control,we demonstrated a scalable process to achieve a hierarchical structure of MnCo_2O_4,which existed as uniform microspheres with embedded mesopores,showing favorable structural characters for high performance during a fast charge/discharge process.Our synthesis highlighted the importance of sodium salicylate as an essential additive to control the precipitation of the two involved metal cations.It was proved that a dual role was played sodium salicylate which cannot only facilitate the formation of microspheric shape,but also act as an effective precursor for the creation of inner mesopores.We confirmed that the hierarchically-structured MnCo_2O_4 showed outstanding performance when it was tested as an anode material in lithium ion batteries as revealed by its extraordinary cycling stability and high rate capability.Zixiao Wu Fuhai Li Yonggang Sun Deshan Bin Junyu Piao Xijie Lin Xiaochan Liu Anmin Cao Li-Jun Wan 2017Science China Chemistry2017,60,9:0
15Image compression algorithm of floral canopy based on mask hybrid coding for ROI显示文摘To achieve high-quality image compression of a floral canopy,a region of interest(ROI)mask of the wavelet domain was generated through the automatic identification of the canopy ROI and lifting the bit-plane of the ROI to obtain priority of coding for the ROI-set partitioning in hierarchical trees(ROI-SPIHT)coding.The embedded zerotree wavelet(EZW)coding was conducted for the background(BG)region of the image and a relatively more low-frequency wavelet coefficient was obtained using a relatively small amount of coding.Through the weighing factor r of the ROI coding amount,the proportion of the ROI and BG coding amount was dynamically adjusted to generate embedded,truncatable bit streams.Despite the location of truncation,the image information and ROI mask information required by the decoder can be guaranteed to achieve high-quality compression and reconstruction of the image ROI.The results indicated that under the same bit rate,the larger the r value is,the larger the peak-signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)for the ROI reconstructed image and the smaller the PSNR for the BG reconstructed image.In the range of 0.07-1.09 bpp,the PSNR of the ROI reconstructed image was 42.65%higher on average than that of the BG reconstructed image,43.95%higher on average than that of the composite image of the ROI and BG(ALL),and 16.84%higher on average than that of the standard SPIHT reconstructed image.Additionally,the mean square error of the quality evaluation index and similarity for the ROI reconstructed image were both better than those for the BG,ALL,and standard SPIHT reconstructed images.The texture distortion of the ALL image was smaller than that of the SPIHT reconstructed image,indicating that the image compression algorithm based on the mask hybrid coding for ROI(ROI-MHC)is capable of improving the reconstruction quality of an ROI image.When the weighing factor r is a fixed value,as the proportion of ROI(a)increases,the quality of ROI image reconstruction gradually decreases.Therefore,upon the application of the ROI-MHC image compression algorithm,high-quality reconstruction of the ROI image can be achieved through dynamically configuring r according to a.Under the same bit rate,the quality of the ROI-MHC image compression is higher than that of current compression algorithms of same classes and offers promising application opportunities.Sun Guoxiang Wang Xiaochan Ding Yongqian Li Yuhua Zhang Baohua Li Yongbo Zhang Yu 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,5:0
16Shoot rot of Zizania latifolia and the first record of its pathogen Pantoea ananatis in China显示文摘The aquatic grass Zizania latifolia grows symbiotically with the fungus Ustilago esculenta producing swollen structures called Jiaobai,widely cultivated in China.A new disease of Z.latifolia was found in Zhejiang Province,China.Initial lesions appeared on the leaf sheaths or sometimes on the leaves near the leaf sheaths.The lesions extended along the axis of the leaf shoots and formed long brown to dark brown streaks from the leaf sheath to the leaf,causing sheath rot and death of entire leaves on young plants.The pathogen was isolated and identified as the bacterium Pantoea ananatis,based on 16 S ribosomal RNA(r RNA)gene sequencing,multilocus sequence analysis(atp D(β-subunit of ATP synthase F1),gyr B(DNA gyrase subunit B),inf B(translation initiation factor 2),and rpo B(β-subunit of RNA polymerase)genes),and pathogenicity tests.Ultrastructural observations using scanning electron microscopy revealed that the bacterial cells colonized the vascular tissues in leaf sheaths,forming biofilms on the inner surface of vessel walls,and extended between vessel elements via the perforated plates.To achieve efficient detection and diagnosis of P.ananatis,species-specific primer pairs were designed and validated by testing closely related and unrelated species and diseased tissues of Z.latifolia.This is the first report of bacterial sheath rot disease of Z.latifolia caused by P.ananatis in China.Zilan XIAO Jianping DENG Xiaojun ZHOU Liyan ZHU Xiaochan HE Jingwu ZHENG Deping GUO Jingze ZHANG 2022Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2022,23,4:0

18High-throughput first-principle prediction of collinear magnetic topological materials显示文摘The success of topological band theory and symmetry-based topological classification significantly advances our understanding of the Berry phase.Based on the critical concept of topological obstruction,efficient theoretical frameworks,including topological quantum chemistry and symmetry indicator theory,were developed,making a massive characterization of real materials possible.However,the classification of magnetic materials often involves the complexity of their unknown magnetic structures,which are often hard to know from experiments,thus,hindering the topological classification.In this paper,we design a high-throughput workflow to classify magnetic topological materials by automating the search for collinear magnetic structures and the characterization of their topological natures.We computed 1049 chosen transition-metal compounds(TMCs)without oxygen and identified 64 topological insulators and 53 semimetals,which become 73 and 26 when U correction is further considered.Due to the lack of magnetic structure information from experiments,our high-throughput predictions provide insightful reference results and make the step toward a complete diagnosis of magnetic topological materials.Yunlong Su Jiayu Hu Xiaochan Cai Wujun Shi Yunyouyou Xia Yuanfeng Xu Xuguang Xu Yulin Chen Gang Li 2022npj Computational Materials2022,,1:0
19Geographic Variation in the Skull Morphometry of Four Populations of Batrachuperus karlschmidti(Urodela:Hynobiidae)显示文摘Geographic variation of morphology is an important topic of evolutionary biology,and research on geographic variation can provide insights on the formation,evolution,and adaptation of species and subspecies.The vertebrate skull is a developmentally and functionally complex morphological structure with multiple functions,that is susceptible to vary according to selection pressure.In this study,geographic variations in skull morphology of Batrachuperus karlschmidti from four different geographic populations(Shade,Gexi,Shangluokema,and Xinduqiao)were examined via geometric morphometrics.No significant differences were found among these populations with regard to skull size;however,significant variation was found in skull shape.The most notable shape changes are the relative sizes and positions of the frontal,maxilla,pterygoid,and vomer.Skull shape changes were not related to allometry.However,due to limitation of sample populations and size,the results of this study need to be further verified by more sample populations and individuals in the future.The results of this study contribute to our knowledge about these aspects of morphological variability in this species as well as in hynobiid salamanders.Qiangqiang LIU Jianli XIONG Jianping GOU Xiaochan GAO 2020Asian Herpetological Research2020,11,3:0
20基于SCI-E文献计量的牛布鲁氏菌病研究趋势分析显示文摘基于SCI-E(科学引文索引扩展版)的数据,利用文献计量学方法,统计分析1994—2012年SCI-E收录牛布鲁氏菌病的相关研究文献,探讨国内外牛布鲁氏菌病文献的文献量变化与被引频次、语种、国家或地区分布、学科类别、主要研究机构、期刊分布、基金资助等。结果显示:牛布鲁氏菌病研究发文量自2003年后逐年增加,其中发文较多的国家为美国、法国、西班牙等;发文量较多的机构为法国农业科学研究院(INRA)、德克萨斯农工大学(TEXAS A&M; UNIV)、路易斯安那州立大学(LOUISIANA STATE UNIV)等;主要的发文期刊为感染与免疫(INFECTION AND IMMUNITY)、兽医微生物学(VETERINARY MICROBIOLOGY)、细菌学杂志(JOURNAL OF BACTERIOLOGY)等,主要的学科类别为兽医科学、微生物学、免疫学等;主要语言以英语为主;主要基金资助机构为美国国立卫生研究院(NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH)、中国自然科学基金(NATIONAL NATURAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION OF CHINA)等。该文分析了牛布鲁氏菌病研究的总体状况和发展态势,为牛布鲁氏菌病科研工作者及决策者提供参考。王艳萍 ZHAO Junming HU Xiaochan 2015巴音郭楞职业技术学院学报2015,0,3:0
