1Genome and transcriptome of Papaver somniferum Chinese landrace CHM indicates that massive genome expansion contributes to high benzylisoquinoline alkaloid biosynthesis显示文摘Opium poppy(Papaver somniferum)is a source of morphine,codeine,and semisynthetic derivatives,including oxycodone and naltrexone.Here,we report the de novo assembly and genomic analysis of P.somniferum traditional landrace‘Chinese Herbal Medicine’.Variations between the 2.62 Gb CHM genome and that of the previously sequenced high noscapine 1(HN1)variety were also explored.Among 79,668 protein-coding genes,we functionally annotated 88.9%,compared to 68.8%reported in the HN1 genome.Gene family and 4DTv comparative analyses with three other Papaveraceae species revealed that opium poppy underwent two whole-genome duplication(WGD)events.The first of these,in ancestral Ranunculales,expanded gene families related to characteristic secondary metabolite production and disease resistance.The more recent species-specific WGD mediated by transposable elements resulted in massive genome expansion.Genes carrying structural variations and large-effect variants associated with agronomically different phenotypes between CHM and HN1 that were identified through our transcriptomic comparison of multiple organs and developmental stages can enable the development of new varieties.These genomic and transcriptomic analyses will provide a valuable resource that informs future basic and agricultural studies of the opium poppy.Li Pei Baishi Wang Jian Ye Xiaodi Hu Lihong Fu Kui Li Zhiyu Ni Zhenlong Wang Yujie Wei Luye Shi Ying Zhang Xue Bai Mengwan Jiang Shuhui Wang Chunling Ma Shujin Li Kaihui Liu Wanshui Li Bin Cong 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:4

8Selenium-containing core-expanded naphthalene diimides for high performance n-type organic semiconductors显示文摘The incorporation of heavy atoms into molecular backbone is an extremely straightforward strategy for fine-tuning the optoelectronic properties of organic semiconductors.However,it is rarely studied in n-type small molecules.Herein,by selenium substitution of NDI3 HU-DTYM2,two Se-decorated core-expanded naphthalene diimides(NDI)derivatives DTYM-NDI3 HUDSYM(1)and NDI3 HU-DSYM2(2)were synthesized.In comparison with the reference S-containing compound NDI3 HUDTYM2,the highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO)and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)energy levels of 1 and 2 were fine-tuned with?HOMO of about 0.2 e V,?LUMO of 0.1 e V and the narrowed HOMO-LUMO gaps.More surprisingly,the as-spun organic thin film transistors(OTFTs)based on 1 and 2 both showedμe,satvalues as high as1.0 cm2 V-1 s-1,which are 2-fold higher than that of NDI3 HU-DTYM2 with the same device structure and measurement conditions.In addition,the single crystal OFET devices based on Se-containing compound NDI2 BO-DSYM2 showed a highμe,satvalue of 1.30 cm2 V-1 s-1.The molecular packing of NDI2 BO-DSYM2 in single crystals(two-dimensional supramolecular structure formed by intermolecular Se···Se interactions)is quite different from that of a S-containing compound NDI-DTYM2(one dimensional supramolecular structure formed by intermolecularπ-πstacking).Therefore,the Se substitution can cause dramatic change about molecular stacking model,giving rise to high n-type OTFT performance.Our results demonstrated an effective strategy of the heavy atom effect for designing novel organic semiconductors.Wenjie Han Zhongli Wang Yunbin Hu Xiaodi Yang Congwu Ge Xike Gao 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,9:0

10Dealloying of an amorphous TiCuRu alloy results in a nanostructured electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘Development of an electrocatalyst that is cheap and has good properties to replace conventional noble metals is important for H_(2) applications.In this study,dealloying of an amorphous Ti_(37)Cu_(60)Ru_(3) alloy was performed to prepare a freestanding nanostructured hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)catalyst.The effect of dealloying and addition of Ru to TiCu alloys on the microstructure and HER properties under alkaline conditions was investigated.3 at.%Ru addition in Ti_(40)Cu_(60) decreases the overpotential to reach a current density of 10mA cm^(-2) and Tafel slope of the dealloyed samples to 35 and 34mV dec−1.The improvement of electrocatalytic properties was attributed to the formation of a nanostructure and the modification of the electronic structure of the catalyst.First-principles calculations based on density function theory indicate that Ru decreases the Gibbs free energy of water dissociation.This work presents a method to prepare an efficient electrocatalyst via dealloying of amorphous alloys.Jinsen Tian Yuanchao Hu Wenfei Lu Jiahua Zhu Xiaodi Liu Jun Shen Gang Wang Jan Schroers 2023Carbon Energy2023,5,8:0
11A chronological review of photochemical reactions of ferrioxalate at the molecular level:New insights into an old story显示文摘Owing to its outstanding photoactivity,ferrioxalate is originally used as an actinometer and subsequent work has discovered that photochemistry of ferrioxalate is also fundamentally or technically important in atmospheric chemistry and water treatment.While the overall products generated from photolysis of ferrioxalate are known to include Fe(Ⅱ),a series of oxidizing(e.g.,·OH,O_(2)^(·-)/HO_(2)^(·-))or reducing(C_(2)O_(4)^(·-)/CO_(2)^(·-))radicals and H_(2)O_(2),however,at the molecular level,the primary step of the photoreaction of ferrioxalate remains as an unsolved mystery due to the difficulty in examining such ultrafast processes.Benefiting from the development of time-resolved spectroscopy,this old question has been studied with increasing vigor recently,by means of such ever-more-sophisticated techniques(e.g.,flash photolysis,time-resolved X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS),femtosecond infrared(IR)absorption spectroscopy,ultrafast photoelectron spectroscopy(PES)).There are two contrary views on the primary reaction mechanism:(1)Intramolecular electron transfer(ET)precedes the cleavage of the metal-ligand bond;(2)The dissociation of C-C or Fe-O bond occurs before intramolecular ET.Thus,this review presents a comprehensive summary about the overall reaction mechanism and molecular level mechanism of ferrioxalates.In chronological order,we have elaborated two predominant but controversial views from the perspectives of different experimental approaches.Some challenges and research opportunities in this active field are also briefly discussed.Xiaodie Li Meiru Hou Yu Fu Lingli Wang Yifan Wang Dagang Lin Qingchao Li Dongdong Hu Zhaohui Wang 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,5:0
