1Characterization of chromophoric organic matter in effluent from Vitamin C wastewater anaerobic-aerobic treatment显示文摘Chroma is not effectively removed from Vitamin C(VC)wastewater by traditional anaerobic-aerobic treatment.This means cur-rent treatment does not meet the strict new discharge standard for VC wastewater in China.However,to date,no studies have investigated the removal of chroma from VC wastewater,or characterized the chromophoric organic matter in wastewater.In this study,choromophoric organic matter in effluent from anaerobic-aerobic treatment of Vitamin C wastewater was characterized using high performance gel permeation chromatography(HPGPC),ultrafiltration,and infrared(IR)and ultraviolet-visible(UV/Vis)spectroscopy.Routine water-quality indices were determined,and indicated that the organic matter in the effluent contained nitrogen.The molecular weight of most organic matter in this effluent was below 1000 Da,while the remainder was between 1000-3000 Da.These compounds are likely biodegradation products of high molecular weight organic matter in the effluent,which are raw materials and byproducts from VC production.IR spectra indicated that the low molecular weight(<1000 Da)organic matter and higher molecular weight(1000-3000 Da)organic matter contain similar major functional groups,including-OH,-NH2,-CO-NH2,-C=O-,and-COO-.The effluent was treated using electrolysis,and UV/Vis spectra of this effluent before and after electrolysis indicated that-C=O is an important chroma group in this effluent.Electrolysis can easily break-C=O,and provides a feasible technology for the advanced treatment of anaerobic-aerobic effluent from VC wastewater treatment.XU Ke REN HongQiang DING LiLi XIE JiCheng REN XinKun 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,33:3
2Effect of silver growth temperature on the contacts between Ag and ZnO thin films显示文摘Highly c-axis oriented ZnO thin films were deposited on Si substrates by the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method. At different growth temperatures,200 nm silver films as the contact metal were deposited on the ZnO thin films. The growth temperatures have great influence on the crystal quality of Ag films. Current-voltage characteristics were measured at room temperature. The Schottky contacts between Ag and ZnO thin films were successfully obtained when silver electrodes were deposited at 150 ℃ and 200℃. Ohmic contacts were formed while the growth temperatures were lower than 150℃ or higher than 200 ℃. 3Detection of laser-induced optical defects based on image segmentation显示文摘A number of vision-based methods for detecting laser-induced defects on optical components have been implemented to replace the time-consuming manual inspection.While deep-learning-based methods have achieved state-of-the-art performances in many visual recognition tasks,their success often hinges on the availability of a large number of labeled training sets.In this paper,we propose a surface defect detection method based on image segmentation with a U-shaped convolutional network(U-Net).The designed network was trained on paired sets of online and offline images of optics from a large laser facility.We show in our experimental evaluation that our approach can accurately locate laser-induced defects on the optics in real time.The main advantage of the proposed method is that the network can be trained end to end on small samples,without the requirement for manual labeling or manual feature extraction.The approach can be applied to the daily inspection and maintenance of optical components in large laser facilities.Xinkun Chu Hao Zhang Zhiyu Tian Qing Zhang Fang Wang Jing Chen Yuanchao Geng 2019High Power Laser Science and Engineering2019,7,4:2
4High proportion strontium-doped micro-arc oxidation coatings enhance early osseointegration of titanium in osteoporosis by anti-oxidative stress pathway显示文摘The excessive accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS)under osteoporosis precipitates a microenvironment with high levels of oxidative stress(OS).This could significantly interfere with the bioactivity of conventional titanium implants,impeding their early osseointegration with bone.We have prepared a series of strontium(Sr)-doped titanium implants via micro-arc oxidation(MAO)to verify their efficacy and differences in osteoinduction capabilities under normal and osteoporotic(high OS levels)conditions.Apart from the chemical composition,all groups exhibited similar physicochemical properties(morphology,roughness,crystal structure,and wettability).Among the groups,the low Sr group(Sr25%)was more conducive to osteogenesis under normal conditions.In contrast,by increasing the catalase(CAT)/superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity and decreasing ROS levels,the high Sr-doped samples(Sr75% and Sr100%)were superior to Sr25% in inducing osteogenic differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells and the M2 phenotype polarization of RAW264.7 cells,thus enhancing early osseointegration.Furthermore,the results of both in vitro cell co-culture and in vivo studies also showed that the high Sr-doped samples(especially Sr100%)had positive effects on osteoimmunomodulation under the OS microenvironment.Ultimately,the collated findings indicated that the high proportion Sr-doped MAO coatings were more favorable for osteoporosis patients in implant restorations.Xinkun Shen Kai Fang Kendrick Hii Ru Yie Zixin Zhou Yiding Shen Shuyi Wu Yue Zhu Zhennan Deng Pingping Ma Jianfeng Ma Jinsong Liu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,4:2

7Research on the photoluminescence of spectral broadening by rapid thermal annealing on InAs/GaAs quantum dots显示文摘Photoluminescence (PL) test was conducted to investigate the effect of rapid thermal annealing (RTA) on the opticalperformance of self-assembled InAs/GaAs quantum dots (QDs) at the temperatures of 16 and 300 K. It was found that after RTAtreatment, the PL spectrum of the QDs sample had a large blue-shift and significantly broadened at 300 K. Compared with theas-grown InAs QDs sample, the PL spectral width has increased by 44.68 meV in the InAs QDs sample RTA-treated at800 ℃. 11Effects of Thickness on the Electrical Conductivity of Sputtered YSZ Film with Nanocrystalline Columnar Microstructure显示文摘In order to investigate the effect of the thickness on the electrical conductivity of yttriastabilized zirconia(YSZ) film, the nanocrystalline columnar-structured YSZ film with thickness of 0.67-2.52 μm was prepared by magnetron sputtering through controlling the deposition time. All the sputtered films with different thicknesses consist of the main phase of cubic YSZ as well as a small amount of monoclinic YSZ. The thicker films exhibit a typical columnar grain structure based on the fractured cross-sectional SEM observations. The average diameters of columnar grains increase from about 40 nm to 100 nm with the film thickness from 0.67 μm to 2.52 μm according to TEM analysis. The thinnest YSZ film with 0.67 μm thickness shows the highest apparent electrical conductivity in the four films in 400-800 ℃ due to the contribution from the highly conductive film/substrate interfacial region. On the other hand, the real electrical conductivities of YSZ films increase with film thickness from 0.67 μm to 2.52 μm after eliminating the contribution of the film/substrate interface. 13Symptom burden in advanced breast cancer patients and its association between death anxiety and psychological distress显示文摘Objective:Recent research has documented psychological distress in advanced breast cancer(ABC)patients,but few studies have examined how death anxiety is affected by the symptom burden.Therefore,this study aims to explore the association among symptom burden,death anxiety and psychological distress(depression and anxiety)in ABC patients.Methods:This cross-sectional study used the Death and Dying Anxiety Scale(DADDS),9-item Patient Health Questionnaire(PHQ-9),General Anxiety Disorder-7(GAD-7)and MD Anderson Symptom Inventory(MDASI)to assess death anxiety,depression,anxiety,and symptom burden,respectively.Bias-corrected bootstrapping methods were used to estimate indirect effects and 95%confidence intervals.Results:Two hundred ABC patients completed the questionnaires.All of the respondents were females,with a mean age of 50±10 years.Initial correlation analyses revealed significant associations of death anxiety with depression(r=0.57,P<0.001),anxiety(r=0.60,P<0.001)and symptom burden(r=0.43,P<0.001).Moreover,depression(r=0.53,P<0.001)and anxiety(r=0.45,P<0.001)were significantly correlated with symptom burden.An analysis using Hayes’PROCESS macro revealed the partial effecting role of death anxiety in the relationship between depression and symptom burden,and between anxiety and symptom burden(contributions to the total effect of 0.247 and 0.469,respectively).Conclusions:This study provides insight into the relationship between death anxiety and symptom burden.The results suggest that interventions addressing death anxiety may be more effective for alleviating the depression and anxiety experienced by ABC patients with a symptom burden.Zhongge Su Yuhe Zhou Xinkun Han Ying Pang Shuangzhi He Lili Tang 2022Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2022,34,3:1

16Phenylboronic acid-modified hollow silica nanoparticles for dual-responsive delivery of doxorubicin for targeted tumor therapy显示文摘This work reports a multifunctional nanocarrier based on hollow mesoporous silica nanoparticles(HMSNs)for targeting tumor therapy.Doxorubicin(DOX)was loaded into HMSNs and blocked with cytochrome C conjugated lactobionic acid(CytC–LA)via redox-cleavable disulfide bonds and pH-disassociation boronate ester bonds as intermediate linkers.The CytC–LA was used both as sealing agent and targeting motif.A series of characterizations demonstrated the successful construction of the drug delivery system.The system demonstrated pH and redox dual-responsive drug release behavior in vitro.The DOX loading HMSNs system displayed a good biocompatibility,which could be specifically endocytosed by HepG2 cells and led to high cytotoxicity against tumor cells by inducing cell apoptosis.In vivo data(tumor volume,tumor weight,terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling and hematoxylin and eosin staining)proved that the system could deliver DOX to tumor site with high efficiency and inhibit tumor growth with minimal toxic side effect.Ling Huang Qingfeng Zhang Liangliang Dai Xinkun Shen Weizhen Chen Kaiyong Cai 2017Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,2:0
