| 1 | Waste oyster shell as a kind of active filler to treat the combined wastewater at an estuary显示文摘Estuaries have been described as one of the most difcult environments on Earth. It is difcult to know how to treat the combined wastewater in tidal rivers at the estuary, where the situation is very diferent from ordinary fresh water rivers. Waste oyster shell was used as the active filler in this study in a bio-contact oxidation tank to treat the combined wastewater at the Fengtang Tidal River. With a middle-experimental scale of 360 m3/day, the average removal efciency of COD, BOD, NH3-N, TP and TSS was 80.05%, 85.02%,86.59%, 50.58% and 85.32%, respectively, in this bio-contact oxidation process. The living microbes in the biofilms on the waste oyster shell in this bio-contact oxidation tank, which were mainly composed of zoogloea, protozoa and micro-metazoa species, revealed that waste oyster shell as the filler was suitable material for combined wastewater degradation. This treatment method using waste oyster shell as active filler was then applied in a mangrove demonstration area for water quality improvement near the experiment area, with a treatment volume of 5 × 103m3/day. Another project was also successfully applied in a constructed wetland, with a wastewater treatment volume of 1 × 103m3/day. | 2 | Quantum network coding for multi-unicast problem based on 2D and 3D cluster states显示文摘We mainly consider quantum multi-unicast problem over directed acyclic network, where each source wishes to transmit an independent message to its target via bottleneck channel. Taking the advantage of global entanglement state 2D and 3D cluster states, these problems can be solved efficiently. At first, a universal scheme for the generation of resource states among distant communication nodes is provided. The corresponding between cluster and bigraph leads to a constant temporal resource cost. Furthermore, a new approach based on stabilizer formalism to analyze the solvability of several underlying quantum multi-unicast networks is presented. It is found that the solvability closely depends on the choice of stabilizer generators for a given cluster state. And then, with the designed measurement basis and parallel measurement on intermediate nodes, we propose optimal protocols for these multi-unicast sessions. | 3 | Design of readout electronics based on peak-holding circuit and multiplexer for a fast neutron spectrometer显示文摘Background Fast neutron detection is meaningful in many research fields such as space environment monitoring.A scintillating fiber array model for fast neutron detection was proposed and developed in 1980s.Aerospace applications of the model require electronics in small size.Purpose To design a dedicated electronic system to readout and process the 384-channel signals from scintillating fiber array,and to use the designed system to fabricate a neutron detector for aerospace applications.Methods With the method of nuclear recoil,fast neutron is detected by tracking recoil proton of n–p scatter in scintillating plastic fibers.Using the peak-holding circuits and multiplexers,the system size and power consumption were reduced.Results The detector fabricated with the designed system,had 34 cm×34 cm×27 cm mechanical size,20.4 kg weight,and 30.05W power consumption.Comparing to traditional waveform sampling electronics,the designed electronics was highly integrated and had a small size.The readout electronics also gave a better energy resolution of 39%in neutron detection,while the energy resolution was 43%in previous version.Conclusion In this study,a highly integrated readout electronic system was designed and verified.The detector using the system gave good performance.The designed electronics had potential development in fast neutron detection and other high energy physics detection system. | Liyang Sun Kai Zhuang Xiaoming Wang Fanjian Zeng Heng An Daowu Li Yuxiong Xue Zhiming Zhang Wei Zhou Yingjie Wang Baotong Feng Peilin Wang Xiaohui Li Jiale Cai Teng Tong Fanhui Meng Junguang Zhou Huan Huang Xuanhou Hu Xiubo Qin | 2018 | Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2018,2,1: | 1 |
| 4 | Patterning the neuronal cells via inkjet printing of self-assembled peptides on silk scaffolds显示文摘The patterning of neuronal cells and guiding neurite growth are important for neuron tissue engineering and cell-based biosensors. In this paper, inkjet printing has been employed to pattern self-assembled I_3 QGK peptide nanofibers on silk substrates for guiding the growth of neuron-like PC12 cells. Atomic force microscopy(AFM)confirmed the dynamic self-assembly of I_3 QGK into nanofiber structures. The printed self-assembled peptide strongly adheres to regenerated silk fibroin(RSF) substrates through charge-charge interactions. It was observed that in the absence of I_3 QGK, PC12 cells exhibited poor attachment to RSF films, while for RSF surfaces coated or printed with peptide nanofibers, cellular attachment was significantly improved in terms of both cell density and morphology. AFM results revealed that peptide nanofibers can promote the generation of axons and terminal buttons of PC12 cells, indicating that I_3 QGK nanofibers not only promote cellular attachment but also facilitate differentiation into neuronal phenotypes. Inkjet printing allows complex patterning of peptide nanofibers onto RSF substrates, which enabled us to engineer cell alignment and provide an opportunity to direct axonal development in vitro. | 6 | Boosted lithium storage performance by local build-in electric field derived by oxygen vacancies in 3D holey N-doped carbon structure decorated with molybdenum dioxide显示文摘Three-dimensional holey nitrogen-doped carbon matrixes decorated with molybdenum dioxide(MoO_(2))nanoparticles have been successfully synthesized via a NaCl-assisted template strategy.The obtained MoO_(2)/C composites offered multi-advantages,including higher specific surface area,more active sites,more ions/electrons transmission channels,and shorter transmission path due to the synergistic effect of the uniformly distributed MoO_(2) nanoparticles and porous carbon structure.Especially,the oxygen vacancies were introduced into the prepared composites and enhanced the Li^(+)intercalation/deintercalation process during electrochemical cycling by the Coulomb force.The existence of the local built-in electric field was proved by experimental data,differential charge density distribution,and density of states calculation.The uniquely designed structure and introduced oxygen vacancy defects endowed the MoO_(2)/C composites with excellent electrochemical properties.In view of the synergistic effect of the uniquely designed morphology and introduced oxygen vacancy defects,the MoO_(2)/C composites exhibited superior electrochemical performance of a high capacity of 918.2 mAh g^(-1) at 0.1 A g^(-1) after 130 cycles,562.1 mAh g^(-1) at 1.0 A g^(-1) after 1000 cycles,and a capacity of 181.25 mAh g^(-1) even at 20.0 A g^(-1).This strategy highlights the path to promote the commercial application of MoO_(2)-based and other transition metal oxide electrodes for energy storage devices. | Chuanxin Hou Wenyue Yang Hideo Kimura Xiubo Xie Xiaoyu Zhang Xueqin Sun Zhipeng Yu Xiaoyang Yang Yuping Zhang Bin Wang Ben Bin Xu Deepak Sridhar Hassan Algadi Zhanhu Guo Wei Du | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,11: | 0 |
| 7 | Optimizing impedance matching by a dual-carbon Co-regulation strategy of Co_(3)O_(4)@rGO/celery stalks derived carbon composites for excellent microwave absorption显示文摘Both macroscopic composition and microstructure should be considered for reasonable microwave ab-sorbent designing.In this study,Co_(3)O_(4)@reduced graphene oxide(rGO)/Celery stalks derived carbon(CDC)was prepared by loading Co_(3)O_(4) particles into rGO and biomass-derived carbon mixture through oxidation precipitation.By changing the mass ratio of rGO to CDC,the dielectric and impedance matching proper-ties of the composites can be easily regulated.The RL min value of Co_(3)O_(4)@rGO/CDC_(13) composite(weight ratio for rGO:CDC is 1:3)reaches-84.3 dB with a thickness of 4.6 mm,and the widest effective band-width can be obtained at 4.5 GHz with a matching thickness of 2.8 mm.The Co_(3)O_(4)@rGO/CDC_(13) compos-ite with multiple components(Co_(3)O_(4),CDC,rGO)and 3D net structure produces magnetic/dielectric loss combinations,interfacial polarization,and multiple reflections and scattering,and the CDC with half tube and half sheet structure is conducive to the optimization of impedance matching.The strategy of co-regulating dielectric properties of materials with double carbon provides a novel pathway for the prepa-ration of lightweight,low-cost,and high-performance absorbers. | Xiubo Xie Yukun Wang Xueqin Sun Heshan Wang Ronghai Yu Wei Du Hongjing Wu | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,2: | 0 |

| 9 | Tadpole-shaped polymers based on UV-induced strain promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction显示文摘In the present study, we synthesized well-defined tadpole-shaped polystyrene(PS) via the combination of atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP) and UV-induced strain promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddtion(SPAAC) reaction. A di-bromo ATRP initiator(Br-ini-Br) containing cyclopropenone-masked dibenzocyclooctyne group was used to prepare the linear PS with a cyclopropenone-masked dibenzocyclooctyne in the middle of the chain and bromo groups at both ends(Br-PS-Br). Then we used the single electron transfer-nitroxide radical coupling(SET-NRC) reaction to transfer the bromo end groups to azide groups(N_3-PS-N_3).
