| 4 | Cambrian trilobite Ovatoryctocara granulata Tchernysheva,1962 and its biostratigraphic significance显示文摘The genus Ovatoryctocara Tchernysheva,1962,and its key species Ovatoryctocara granulata Tchernysheva,1962,are revised. Ovatoryctocara granulata occurs near the base of the Ovatoryctocara Zone and ranges up into the lower portion of the Kounamkites Zone in the Siberian Platform. O. granulata also appears in southeastern Guizhou,South China,but O. granulata in northern Greenland may represent an indefinite species. Specimens of Ovatoryctocara from Newfoundland cannot be identified to species level. Specimens includ-ing two cranidia and three pygidia from the lower part of the Aoxi Formation at Yaxi Village,Shizhu Town,eastern Tongren,north-eastern Guizhou,were previously assigned to O. granulata,which is now reassigned as a new species O. yaxiensis sp. nov. It bears the following main features: glabella club-shaped,slightly expanded medially,with four pairs of lateral furrows,of which S1-S3 are trian-gular pits,S4 is shallow,connecting with axial furrow; shorter palpebral lobe situated a little anterior to the midway of facial suture across the fixigenae,longer posterolateral area (exsag.); semielliptical pygidium consisting of seven axial rings with a terminal piece and with eight pairs of marginal tips giving a sawtooth-like shape of the lateral margins in dorsal view. Although O. granulata is a widely distributed species,the FAD of O. granulata,for a global stage boundary,still has some disadvantages. First,its distribution is not as wide as that of Oryctocephalus indicus (Reed,1910). Second,specimens of O. granulata are common only in Siberia. Third,the strati-graphic range of the species has not been studied in detail in all continents. Fourth,O. granulata is relatively small and easily affected by post-burial distortion. Last but not least,there exists obviously a facies change between the Ovatoryctocara Zone (lower Amgan Stage; deeper water facies) and the underlying Anabaraspis splendens Zone (Toyonian Stage; shallow water facies) in Siberian Platform. | 6 | High production-yield solid-state carbon dots with tunable photoluminescence for white/multi-color light-emitting diodes显示文摘Plastic waste is generally resistant to natural degradation and has become a major environmental pollution problem globally. The pollution of ecosystems seriously affects the health and survival of organisms,including humans. Much attention has been paid to finding suitable ways to convert plastic waste into high-value-added carbon materials. To this end, we report the high production yield(60%–85%) of carbon dots(CDs) for solid-state fluorescence(SSF) obtained by a one-step solvothermal method using waste expanded polystyrene as the precursor. The SSF mechanism of the CDs was also explored. Their emission wavelength, with a large full width at half maximum of 150–200 nm, exhibited tunable photoluminescence from white to yellow and orange. CDs powder was used to fabricate single-component white and multi-colour light-emitting diodes on UV chips. | 7 | Carbon-Isotope Excursions Recorded in the Cambrian System,South China:Implications for Mass Extinctions and Sea-Level Fluctuations显示文摘Cambrian carbonates with abundant fossils of agnostoid trilobites deposited on the southern slope(Jiangnan slope belt) of the Yangtze Platform and in the Jiangnan deepwater basin are well exposed in the Wangcun Section of western Hunan, South China, and in the Duibian A Section of western Zhejiang, southeastern China, respectively. To better understand the response of carbon-isotope excursions to depositional environment changes, mass extinctions and eustatic events, we collected 530 carbonate samples in fresh roadcut exposures of the two measured sections for analysis of carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions. Data of δ13 C from the Wangcun Section, western Hunan, South China, demonstrate that the Cambrian carbon-isotope profile includes three remarkable positive excursions CPEwc-1, 2, 3 in the Upper Series 2, in the Lower and in the Middle Furongian Series. Three distinctive negative excursions CNEwc-1, 2, 3 were separately tested in the Lower Terreneuvian Series, Lower Series 3 and in the Upper Furongian Series. Similarly, in the corresponding horizons in the Duibian A Section, Zhejiang Province, southeastern China, three positive excursions CPEdb-1, 2, 3 and three negative excursions CNEdb-1, 2, 3 also have been discovered. | 12 | Diurnal and seasonal variations in carbon fluxes in bamboo forests during the growing season in Zhejiang province, China显示文摘Bamboo forest is an important forest type in subtropical China and is characterized by fast growth and high carbon sequestration capacity. However, the dynamics of carbon fluxes during the fast growing period of bamboo shoots and their correlation with environment factors are poorly understood. We measured carbon dioxide exchange and climate variables using open-path eddy covariance methods during the 2011 growing season in a Moso bamboo forest(MB, Phyllostchys edulis) and a Lei bamboo forest(LB, Phyllostachys violascens) in Zhejiang province,China. The bamboo forests were carbon sinks during the growing season. The minimum diurnal net ecosystem exchange(NEE) at MB and LB sites were-0.64 and-0.66 mg C m^(-2) s^(-1), respectively. The minimum monthly NEE, ecosystem respiration(RE), and gross ecosystem exchange(GEE) were-99.3 ± 4.03, 76.2 ±2.46, and^(-1)91.5 ± 4.98 g C m^(-2) month^(-1), respectively,at MB site, compared with-31.8 ± 3.44, 70.4 ± 1.41,and^(-1)57.9 ± 4.86 g C m^(-2) month^(-1), respectively, at LB site. Maximum RE was 92.1 ± 1.32 g C m^(-2) month^(-1) at MB site and 151.0 ± 2.38 g C m^(-2) month^(-1) at LB site.Key control factors varied by month during the growing season, but across the whole growing season, NEE and GEE at both sites showed similar trends in sensitivities to photosynthetic active radiation and vapor pressure deficit,and air temperature had the strongest correlation with RE at both sites. Carbon fluxes at LB site were more sensitive to soil water content compared to those at MB site. | 14 | Enhancing mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of nickel-aluminum bronze via hot rolling process显示文摘The mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of as-cast, as-annealed and hot-rolled nickelaluminum bronze(NAB) alloy(Cu-9 Al-10 Ni-4 Fe-1.2 Mn, all in wt.%) in 3.5 wt.% Na Cl solution were investigated. The results show that annealing introduces a large number of k phases to precipitate in the k phase. However, after further hot rolling, the original continuous k phases are spheroidized and dispersed, increasing the strength, hardness, and elongation of the alloy. In addition to the enhanced mechanical properties, the corrosion resistance of the NAB samples is also improved significantly by hot rolling, as revealed by the mass loss measurements, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS), and cross-sectional corrosion morphology. Selective phase corrosion occurs by the preferential corrosion of the k phase, which acts as an anode to the k phases, and the uncorroded k phases are retained in the corrosion product film. The interfaces between the k phases and the surrounding corrosion products become discontinuous caused by the spheroidization of k phases, reducing the corrosion of the substrate by the corrosive medium via the channels. | 15 | Adaptive cavity-enhanced dual-comb spectroscopy显示文摘Resolution and bandwidth are critical for cavity-enhanced dual-comb spectroscopy(CE-DCS). Here, we pioneer an adaptive approach in CE-DCS to improve the broadband as well as the resolution. Postcorrections to dualcomb interferograms adaptively compensate the relative phase jitters of the optical frequency combs and result in both a mode-resolved spectral resolution and a signal-to-noise ratio of 440:1 in 1 s. Meanwhile, an adaptive combcavity locking scheme exploits more than 90% of the comb modes, covering 340 cm-1(10 THz) at 6450 cm-1. For a single dual-comb interferogram, more than 40,000 comb teeth spaced by 250 MHz are measured in less than7.5 ms, contributing to a noise equivalent absorption per spectral element of 2 × 10-10 cm-1·Hz-1∕2. | 16 | Effect of STAT3 siRNA-Induced Inhibition of STAT3 Gene Expression on the Growth and Apoptosis of Lewis Lung Cancer Cells显示文摘OBJECTIVE To determine the effect of short interference RNA (siRNA) against STAT3 induced inhibition of STAT3 gene expression and on the growth and apoptosis of Lewis lung cancer cells. METHODS pSilencer 2.1-U6 STAT3 siRNA against STAT3-mRNA was synthesized. Lewis lung cancer cells were divided into 3 groups: vehicle, plasmid, and STAT3 siRNA in which the cells were treated with RPMI-1640 culture media, or transfected with pSilencer empty vector, or pSilencer STAT3 siRNA. Semiquantitative RT-PCR and Western blot analysis of STAT3 gene expression in the cells was performed 72 h after transfection. MTT assay for cell proliferation, flow cytometry and DNA laddering electrophoresis were used for determination of cell proliferation and apoptosis. RESULTS STAT3 was markedly expressed at both the mRNA and protein levels in the cells treated with RPMI-1640 media or transfected with the plasmid vector, whereas STAT3 expression was significantly reduced in cells treated with STAT3 siRNA. These findings suggest that STAT3 siRNA effectively inhibited STAT3 expression. Transfection of the cells with STAT3 siRNA resulted in significant cellular growth inhibition and enhanced apoptosis. Aiming at this difficulty,in this paper,a kind of fast approximate reasoning method in hierarchical DSmT is proposed. Presently,this method is only fit for the case that there are only singletons with assignment in hyper-power set. These singletons in hyper-power set are forced to group through bintree or tri-tree technologies. At the same time,the assignments of singletons in those different groups corresponding to each source are added up respectively,in order to realize the mapping from the refined hyper-power set to the coarsened one. And then,two sources with the coarsened hyper-power set are combined together according to classical DSm Combination rule (DSmC) and Proportional Conflict Redistribution rule No. 5 (PCR5). The fused results in coarsened framework will be saved as the connecting weights between father and children nodes. | 19 | Optical fiber SPR biosensor complying with a 3D composite hyperbolic metamaterial and a graphene film显示文摘In the present study, an optical fiber surface plasmon resonance(SPR) biosensor was developed for measuring time-and concentration-dependent DNA hybridization kinetics. Its design complies with a 3D Au∕Al2O3 multilayer composite hyperbolic metamaterial(HMM), a graphene film, and a D-shaped plastic optical fiber.According to the numerical simulation and the experimental demonstration, the SPR peak of the designed biosensor can be effectively altered in the range of visible to near-infrared by varying the HMM structure. The sensitivity of the appliance was shown to achieve a value of up to 4461 nm/RIU, allowing its applicability for bulk refractive index sensing.
