| 1 | Defects enriched hollow porous Co-N-doped carbons embedded with ultrafine CoFe/Co nanoparticles as bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst for rechargeable flexible solid zinc-air batteries显示文摘The construction and design of highly efficient and inexpensive bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts substitute for noble-metal-based catalysts is highly desirable for the development of rechargeable Zn-air battery(ZAB).In this work,a bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts of based on ultrafine CoFe alloy(4-5 nm)dispersed in defects enriched hollow porous Co-N-doped carbons,made by annealing SiO2 coated zeolitic imidazolate framework-67(ZIF-67)encapsulated Fe ions.The hollow porous structure not only exposed the active sites inside ZIF-67,but also provided efficient charge and mass transfer.The strong synergetic coupling among high-density CoFe alloys and Co-N_(x) sites in Co,N-doped carbon species ensures high oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)activity.First-principles simulations reveal that the synergistic promotion effect between CoFe alloy and Co-N site effectively reduced the formation energy of from O^(*)to OH^(*).The optimized CoFe-Co@PNC exhibits outstanding electrocatalytic stability and activity with the overpotential of only 320 mV for OER at 10 mA·cm^(−2) and the half-wave potential of 0.887 V for ORR,outperforming that of most recent reported bifunctional electrocatalysts.A rechargeable ZAB constructed with CoFe-Co@PNC as the air cathode displays long-term cyclability for over 200 h and high power density(152.8 mW·cm^(−2)).Flexible solid-state ZAB with our CoFe-Co@PNC as the air cathode possesses a high open circuit potential(OCP)up to 1.46 V as well as good bending flexibility.This universal structure design provides an attractive and instructive model for the application of nanomaterials derived from MOF in the field of sustainable flexible energy applications device. | Zhao Lei Yangyang Tan Zeyi Zhang Wei Wu Niancai Cheng Runzhe Chen Shichun Mu Xueliang Sun | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,3: | 9 |
| 2 | Preparation and Characterization of Nano-silver Loaded Montmorillonite with Strong Antibacterial Activity and Slow Release Property显示文摘Nano-silver loaded montmorillonite (Ag-MMT) was prepared by ion-exchange and then a UV-photoreduction two-step approach was applied. The silver content in Ag-MMT determined by Volhard method was about 6.4 wt%. The morphology and structure of as-synthesized Ag-MMT were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results showed that the Ag nanoparticles were spherical and their diameters were about 15-20 nm. Moreover, the structure of MMT did not change. The minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) of Ag-MMT was 100×10-6 and the sterilizing efficiency (SE) of Ag-MMT was approximately 100% against Escherichia coli ATCC 11229 (E. coli). | 3 | The Tibetan Plateau Surface–Atmosphere Coupling System and Its Weather and Climate Effects: The Third Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Science Experiment显示文摘The Tibetan Plateau(TP) is a key area affecting forecasts of weather and climate in China and occurrences of extreme weather and climate events over the world. The China Meteorological Administration, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly initiated the Third Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Science Experiment(TIPEX-Ⅲ) in 2013, with an 8–10-yr implementation plan. Since its preliminary field measurements conducted in 2013, routine automatic sounding systems have been deployed at Shiquanhe, Gaize, and Shenzha stations in western TP, where no routine sounding observations were available previously. The observational networks for soil temperature and soil moisture in the central and western TP have also been established. Meanwhile, the plateau-scale and regional-scale boundary layer observations, cloud–precipitation microphysical observations with multiple radars and aircraft campaigns, and tropospheric–stratospheric air composition observations at multiple sites, were performed. The results so far show that the turbulent heat exchange coefficient and sensible heat flux are remarkably lower than the earlier estimations at grassland, meadow, and bare soil surfaces of the central and western TP. Climatologically, cumulus clouds over the main body of the TP might develop locally instead of originating from the cumulus clouds that propagate northward from South Asia. The TIPEX-Ⅲ observations up to now also reveal diurnal variations, macro-and microphysical characteristics, and water-phase transition mechanisms, of cumulus clouds at Naqu station. Moreover, TIPEX-Ⅲ related studies have proposed a maintenance mechanism responsible for the Asian 'atmospheric water tower' and demonstrated the effects of the TP heating anomalies on African, Asian, and North American climates. Additionally, numerical modeling studies show that the Γ distribution of raindrop size is more suitable for depicting the TP raindrop characteristics compared to the M–P distribution, the overestimation of sensible heat flux can be reduced via modifying the heat transfer parameterization over the TP, and considering climatic signals in some key areas of the TP can improve the skill for rainfall forecast in the central and eastern parts of China. | 4 | Microstructure and properties of indium tin oxide thin films deposited by RF-magnetron sputtering显示文摘Tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) thin films were prepared using conventional radio frequency (RF) planar magne-tron sputtering equipped with IR irradiation using a ceramic target of In2O3/SnO2 with a mass ratio of 1:1 at various IR irradiation temperatures TI (from room temperature to 400°C). The refractive index, deposited ratio, and resistivity are functions of the sputtering Ar gas pressure. The microstructure of ITO thin films is related to IR TI, the crystalline seeds appear at TI = 300°C, and the films are amorphous at the temperature ranging from 27°C to 400°C. AFM investigation shows that the roughness value of peak-valley of ITO thin film (Rp-v) and the surface microstructure of ITO thin films have a close relation with TI. The IR irradiation results in a widening value of band-gap energy due to Burstein-Moss effect and the maximum visible transmittance shifts toward a shorter wavelength along with a decrease in the film’s refractive index. The plasma wavelength and the refractive index of ITO thin films are relative to the TI. XPS investigation shows that the photoelectrolytic properties can be deteriorated by the sub-oxides. | 5 | The roles of microRNAs in regulation of mammalian spermatogenesis显示文摘Mammalian spermatogenesis contains three continuous and organized processes, by which spermatogonia undergo mitosis and differentiate to spermatocytes, follow on meiosis to form haploid spermatids and ultimately transform into spermatozoa. These processes require an accurately, spatially and temporally regulated gene expression patterns. The microRNAs are a novel class of post-transcriptional regulators. Cumulating evidences have demonstrated that microRNAs are expressed in a cell-specific or stage-specific manner during spermatogenesis. In this review, we focus on the roles of microRNAs in spermatogenesis. | 7 | Viability of primary cultured retinal neurons in a hyperglycemic condition显示文摘The retina of Wistar rats within 1-3 days of birth were dissociated into a retinal cell suspension using 0.05% trypsin digestion. The cell suspension was incubated in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium for 24 hours, followed by neurobasal medium for 5-7 days. Nissl staining showed that 79.86% of primary cultured retinal cells were positive and immunocytochemical staining showed that the purity of anti-neurofilament heavy chain antibody-positive cells was 71.53%, indicating that the primary culture system of rat retinal neurons was a reliable and stable cell system with neurons as the predominant cell type. The primary cultured retinal neurons were further treated with 0, 5.5, 15, 25, and 35 mM glucose for 24, 48, and 72 hours. The thiazolyl blue tetrazolium bromide test and flow cytometry showed that with increasing glucose concentration and treatment duration, the viability of retinal neurons was reduced, and apoptosis increased. In particular, 35 mM glucose exhibited the most significant effect at 72 hours. | 8 | High efficiency synthesis of HKUST-1 under mild conditions with high BET surface area and CO_2 uptake capacity显示文摘This study focuses on the development of a hydrothermal method for the rapid synthesis of good quality copper benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate(referred to as HKUST-1)with high yield under mild preparation conditions to address the issues associated with reported methods.Different synthesis conditions and activation methods were studied to understand their influence on the properties of HKUST-1.It was found that mixing the precursors at50°C for 3 h followed by activation via methanol refluxing led to the formation of a product with the highest BET specific surface area of 1615 m^2/g and a high yield of 84.1%.The XRD and SEM data illustrated that the product was highly crystalline.The sample was also tested on its capacity in CO_2 adsorption.The results showed strong correlation between surface area of the sample and its CO_2 uptake at 1 bar and 27°C.The HKUST-1 prepared in this study demonstrated a high CO_2 uptake capacity of 4.2 mmol/g.It is therefore concluded that this novel and efficient method can be used in the rapid preparation of HKUST-1 with high surface area and CO_2 uptake capacity. | Yipei Chen Xueliang Mu Edward Lester Tao Wu | 2018 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2018,28,5: | 3 |
| 9 | Tuning the dual-active sites of ZIF-67 derived porous nanomaterials for boosting oxygen catalysis and rechargeable Zn-air batteries显示文摘The rational control of the active site of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)derived nanomaterials is essential to build efficient bifunctional oxygen reduction/evolution reaction(ORR/OER)catalysts.Accordingly,through designing and constructing a Co_(3)O_(4)-Co heterostructure embedded in Co,N co-doped carbon polyhedra derived(Co_(3)O_(4)-Co@NC)from the in-situ compositions of ZIF-67 and cobalt nanocrystals synthesized by the strategy of in-situ NaBH4 reduction,the dual-active site(Co_(3)O_(4)-Co and Co-N_(x))is synchronously realized in a MOFs derived nanomaterials.The formed Co_(3)O_(4)-Co@NC shows excellent bifunctional electrocatalytic activity with ultra-small potential gap(ΔE=E_(j=10)(OER)–E_(1/2)(ORR))of 0.72 V,which surpasses the commercial Pt/C and RuO_(2) catalysts.The theory calculation results reveal that the excellent bifunctional electrocatalytic activity can be attributed to the charge redistribution of Co of Co-N_(x) induced by the synergistic effects of well-tuned active sites of Co_(3)O_(4)-Co nanoparticle and Co-N_(x),thus optimizing the rate-determining step of the desorption of O_(2)^(*)intermediate in ORR and OH^(*)intermediate in OER.The rechargeable Zn-air batteries with our bifunctional catalysts exhibit superior performance as well as high cycling stability.This simple-effective optimization strategy offers prospects for tuning the active site of MOF derived bifunctional catalyst in electrochemical energy devices. | Zeyi Zhang Yangyang Tan Tang Zeng Liyue Yu Runzhe Chen Niancai Cheng Shichun Mu Xueliang Sun | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,7: | 3 |
| 10 | Vertebrate Dynein-f depends on Wdr78 for axonemal localization and is essential for ciliary beat显示文摘Motile cilia and flagella are microtubule-based organelles important for cell locomotion and extracellular liquid flow through beating. Although axonenal dyneins that drive ciliary beat have been extensively studied in unicellular Chlamydomonas, to what extent such knowledge can be applied to vertebrate is poorly known. In Chlamydomonas, Dynein-f controls flagellar waveforms but is dispensable for beating. The flagellar assembly of its heavy chains (HCs) requires its intermediate chain (IC) IC140 but not IC138. Here we show that, unlike its Chlamydomonas counte『part, vertebrate Dynein-f is essential for ciliary beat. We confirmed that Wdr78 is the vertebrate orthologue of IC3 Wdr78 associated with Dynein-f subunits such as Dnah2 (a HC) and Wdr63 (IC140 orthologue). It was expressed as a motile cilium-specific protein in mammalian cells. Depletion of Wdr78 or Dnah2 by RNAi paralyzed mouse ependymal cilia. Zebrafish Wdr78 morphants displayed ciliopathy-related phenotypes, such as curved bodies, hydrocephalus, abnormal otolith, randomized left-right asymmetry, and pronephric cysts, accompanied with paralyzed pronephric cilia. Furthermore, all the HCs and ICs of Dynein-f failed to localize in the Wdr78-depleted mouse ependymal cilia. | 20 | Transcriptome-wide Dynamics of m^(6)A mRNA Methylation During Porcine Spermatogenesis显示文摘Spermatogenesis is a continual process that occurs in the testes,in which diploid spermatogonial stem cells(SSCs)differentiate and generate haploid spermatozoa.This highly efficient and intricate process is orchestrated at multiple levels.N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A),an epigenetic modification prevalent in mRNAs,is implicated in the transcriptional regulation during spermatogenesis.However,the dynamics of m^(6)A modification in non-rodent mammalian species remains unclear.Here,we systematically investigated the profile and role of m^(6)A during spermatogenesis in pigs.By analyzing the transcriptomic distribution of m^(6)A in spermatogonia,spermatocytes,and round spermatids,we identified a globally conserved m^(6)A pattern between porcine and murine genes with spermatogenic function.We found that m^(6)A was enriched in a group of genes that specifically encode the metabolic enzymes and regulators.In addition,transcriptomes in porcine male germ cells could be subjected to the m^(6)A modification.Our data show that m^(6)A plays the regulatory roles during spermatogenesis in pigs,which is similar to that in mice.Illustrations of this point are three genes(SETDB1,FOXO1,and FOXO3)that are crucial to the determination of the fate of SSCs.To the best of our knowledge,this study for the first time uncovers the expression profile and role of m^(6)A during spermatogenesis in large animals and provides insights into the intricate transcriptional regulation underlying the lifelong male fertility in non-rodent mammalian species. | Zidong Liu Xiaoxu Chen Pengfei Zhang Fuyuan Li Lingkai Zhang Xueliang Li Tao Huang Yi Zheng Taiyong Yu Tao Zhang Wenxian Zeng Hongzhao Lu Yinghua Lv | 2023 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2023,21,4: | 1 |
