2A new discovery of macroscopic fossils from the Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation in the Yangtze Gorges area显示文摘Two new horizons with macroscopic fossils are reported in the Doushantuo Formation, Ediacaran System, from the Yangtze Gorges area. The fossils were discovered in the lower and middle black shales of the Doushantuo Formation in the new section at Sandouping Town, Zigui County, Hubei Province. The new macroscopic assemblages in- clude Chuaria and Tawuia, and occur below the well- known ”Miaohe Biota”. These fossils indicate that after the Nantuo ice age, macroscopic multicellular organisms gradually increased in abundance and diversity. Simple, discoidal carbonaceous compres- sions such as chuarids are present in the initial macrofossil assemblage of the Doushantuo Stage. This assemblage was eventually replaceded by the more diverse Miaohe macrofossils, including unam- biguously branching forms, in the uppermost Dou- shantuo Formation. 3New material of microfossils from the Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation in the Zhangcunping area, Yichang, Hubei Province and its zircon SHRIMP U-Pb age显示文摘The Zhangcunping area is located at the north limb of the Huangling anticline in Yichang, Hubei Prov-ince. Here, the sedimentary succession of the Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation is similar with that in the Weng'an area, Guizhou Province. A large number of new microfossils (mainly acanthoacritarchs) from the Doushantuo Formation in this area are reported in this paper. The fossil assemblage shows similarity as the phosphatized biota of the Doushantuo Formation at Weng'an, Guizhou Province and the silicified biota of the Doushantuo Formation at the Yangtze Gorges, which suggests that the Zhangcunping area is a key for correlation of the Doushantuo Formation between the Weng'an area, Guizhou Province and the Yangtze Gorges. Besides, a new zircon SHRIMP U-Pb age (614.0±7.6 Ma) is first obtained from a horizon underneath the exposed surface in the middle of the Doushantuo Forma-tion in the Zhangcunping area. This age not only provides a new datum for subdivision of the Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation, but also indicates that the age of the exposed surface in the middle of the Doushantuo Formation in the Yangtze Platform should be posterior to 614.0±7.6 Ma. 4Discovery of phosphatized gastrula fossils from the Dou-shantuo Formation,Weng'an,Guizhou Province,China显示文摘Globular fossils from Doushantuo phosphorites at the Weng’an area are for the first time identified as a gas-trulation stage of phosphatized embryos. They are got from the fossiliferous remains after acetic acid maceration. The fossils are found together with formerly reported animal resting eggs and embryos of the earlier cleavage stage. The oblate-shaped fossils with the same size as those reported embryos and invaginate at the middle part into the embryos, show the characteristics of the late blastula to the early gas-trula stage of the embryo development. 6Microtubular metazoan fossils with multi-branches in Weng'an Biota显示文摘Microtubular metazoan fossils with multi- branches are found at least 4 times from the Sinian (Ediacarian) Doushantuo Formation at Weng’an, Guizhou, China. Their living mode should be the benthonic colony with higher ability of asexual re- production. The inner of the tube with cross-walls and chamber shows that these fossils are basal or stem- group cnidarians, similar to extinct tabulates. 7Qingbaikouan and Crygenian in South China:Constraints by SHRIMP Zircon U-Pb dating显示文摘The Qingbaikouan System is the lowest unit of the Neoproterozoic Erathem in Chinese stratigraphic succession,and it now provides a precise geochronological framework and geological time scale for mapping and stratal correlation in China.However,a sensitive high-resolution ion microprobe(SHRIMP)U-Pb zircon age date(1368±12 Ma)obtained from a bentonite in the Qingbaikouan Xiamaling Formation indicates that it belongs to the Mesoproterozoic Erathem instead.This change is a milestone in understanding the Precambrian Stratigraphic Time Scale in China,and it has had great influence on Precambrian correlations in Asia.Otherwise,a large amount of geochronological work has been done in the'Jiangnan Orogen Belt'of South China,and new isotopic data have redefined the traditional recognition of metamorphosed Mesoproterozoic strata from the Sibao orogeny to the Neoproterozoic Erathem.Based on SHRIMP zircon U-Pb age data,the authors regard the Sibao orogeny(equal to the Wuling orogeny)as a movement at ca 820 Ma,meaning that the Sibao orogeny was not equivalent to the Grenvillian orogeny.Finally,we report here the first SHRIMP U-Pb age of the boundary between the top of the Qingbaikouan Gongdong Formation(786.8±5.6 Ma)and the bottom of the Chang’an(diamictite)Formation(778.4±5.2 Ma),which is the age of the lowest diamictite of the Nanhuan System in China.GAO Linzhi DING Xiaozhong YIN Chongyu ZHANG Chuanheng Frank R. 9A New Diverse Macrofossil Lagersttte from the Uppermost Ediacaran of Southwestern China显示文摘A new macrofossil Lagersttte was discovered from the uppermost Ediacaran Jiucheng Member at Jinning and Jiangchuan of the eastern Yunnan,yielding numerous diverse well-preserved thallophyte macrofossils.These include the previously-known representatives of vendobionts, Vendotaenia and Tyrasotaenia,and the biggish multicellular benthos such as Chuaria-like and Tawuia- like fossils,as well as Longfengshaniaceaens with diverse holdfast structures.There are still some other problematic macrofossils with peculiar configurations as well as uncertain relatives.The distinct dominance of the giant,unbranching thallophytes occasionally with hoidfast structures distinguishes this assemblage from the other Ediacaran macrofossil Lagerstttes in the Doushantuo Formation at Miaohe,Wenghni and Lantian,and the contemporary assemblage in the Shibantan Member of Dengying Formation,Yangtze Gorges area.This paper outlines the characteristics of some of the multicellular macrofossils from the Jiucheng Member at Jiangchuan.They include some macrofossils with different types of holdfast structure,larger Chuaria-like and Tawuia-like morphology and questionable affinities as well.The discovery of greater diverse macrofossil assemblages from the Jiucheng Member of eastern Yunnan has further indicated that an important diversification and evolutionary radiation of metaphytes took place in the latest Ediacaran time.This radiation of large- scale,benthic metaphyte along with phytoplankton was likely important contributors to the early Cambrian explosion of metazoans.TANG Feng YIN Chongyu LIU Pengju GAO Linzhi ZHANG Wenyan 2008Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2008,82,6:6

12New Data of Phosphatized Acritarchs from the Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation at Weng'an,Guizhou Province,Southwest China显示文摘Abundant phosphatized acritarchs are preserved in the late Precambrian (Ediacaran) Doushantuo Formation at Weng’an, Guizhou Province, southwest China. Most of them are large with various spinous ornaments and multilayered outer walls. The general characters of these fossils are quite similar to those found from the homochronous deposits of the Yangtze Gorges, southern China. Therefore the Doushantuo Formation in the Weng’an area can be correlated directly with the Doushantuo Formation of the Yangtze Gorges. Four species in four genera, including two new genera, two new species and one uncertain species are systematically described for the first time from the studied locality. The taxa are Bacatisphaera baokangensis Zhou, Brasier et Xue, 2001, Taeniosphaera doushantuoensis gen. et sp. nov., Rugospinasphaera speciosa gen. et sp. nov. and Meghystichosphaeridium sp. 13The microfossils in phosphate deposit in Doushantuo stage, Sinian System, Weng' an, Guizhou Province显示文摘The aim of this study is to discuss the microfossils in phosphate deposit in the Doushantuo stage, Sinian System, weng’an, Guizhou Province. Based on the detailed observation in morphology and microstructures, it is considered that those acritarchs with interior spicules probably belong to sponge animals. However, some explanations for a part of soft-tissue are stili contrioversial. The reliable conciusion stili needs more evidence to study. The modem embryology is a branch of study on the organism’ s embryos. The palaeoembryology is a new field in palaeontology, and it has not been considered an important field before, because the invertebrate’s eggs or embryos are minute size and without mineralized envelope. Until now, fossilized eggs of invertebrates in Cambrian have been rarely reported and most of them are small globular structures without recognizable features. 16Optical experimental solution for the multiway number partitioning problem and its application to computing power scheduling显示文摘Quantum computing is an emerging technology that is expected to realize an exponential increase in computing power. Recently,its theoretical foundation and application scenarios have been extensively researched and explored. In this work, we propose efficient quantum algorithms suitable for solving computing power scheduling problems in the cloud-rendering domain, which can be viewed mathematically as a generalized form of a typical NP-complete problem, i.e., a multiway number partitioning problem.In our algorithm, the matching pattern between tasks and computing resources with the shortest completion time or optimal load balancing is encoded into the ground state of the Hamiltonian;it is then solved using the optical coherent Ising machine, a practical quantum computing device with at least 100 qubits. The experimental results show that the proposed quantum scheme can achieve significant acceleration and save 97% of the time required to solve combinatorial optimization problems compared with classical algorithms. This demonstrates the computational advantages of optical quantum devices in solving combinatorial optimization problems. 18Microfossils from the Chert in the Lower Cambrian Shuijingtuo Formation at Miaohe, Zigui, Hubei Province显示文摘This paper reports for the first time on the microfossils discovered in the black cherts of the basal part of the Lower Cambrian Shuijingtuo Formation at Miaohe village, Zigui County, Hubei Province, all of which were observed in thin sections. Nine genera, 9 species and 3 indeterminate species (including a new species) are described. According to these microfossils, the conclusion is made that the microfossil zone may be equivalent to the small shelly fossil assemblage zones 2—3 of the Meishucun stage.
