Effects of genistein on neuronal apoptosis, and expression of Bcl-2 and Bax proteins in the hippocampus of ovariectomized rats显示文摘Genistein is one of several isoflavones that has a structure similar to 17β-estradiol, has a strong antioxidant effect, and a high affinity to estrogen receptors. At 15 weeks after ovariectomy, the expression of Bcl-2 in the hippocampus of rats decreased and Bax expression increased, with an obvious upregulation of apoptosis. However, intraperitoneal injection of genistein or 17β-estradiol for 15 consecutive weeks from the second day after operation upregulated Bcl-2 protein expression downregulated Bax protein expression, and attenuated hippocampal neuron apoptosis. Our experimental findings indicate that long-term intervention with genistein can lead to a decrease in apoptosis in hippocampal neurons following ovariectomy, upregulate the expression of Bcl-2, and downregulate the expression of Bax. In addition, genistein and 17β-estradiol play equal anti-apoptotic and neuroprotective roles. | Yun Peng Bo Jiang Huiling Wu Ruchun Dai Liming Tan | 2012 | Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,36: | 6
Improved and excellent CO sensing properties of Cu-doped TiO_2 nanofibers显示文摘Cu-doped TiO2 nanofibers with an average diameter of about 80 nm are synthesized through an electrospinning method. Both anatase and rutile crystallographic structures are found in the fibers based on XRD results. Compared with pure TiO2 nanofibers, the Cu-doped TiO2 nanofibers exhibit improved CO sensing properties at 300°C. The sensitivity of Cu-doped TiO2 nanofibers is up to 3 when the sensor is exposed to 5 ppm CO, and the response and recovery times are about 4 and 8 s, respectively. Good selectivity is also observed in our investigations. These results indicate that the Cu-doped TiO2 nanofibers can be used to fabricate high performance CO sensors in practice. | WANG Biao ZHAO YuDong HU LiMing CAO JunSheng GAO FengLi LIU Yun WANG LiJun | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,3: | 3
Large-scale multiferroic complex oxide epitaxy with magnetically switched polarization enabled by solution processing显示文摘Complex oxides with tunable structures have many fascinating properties, though high-quality complex oxide epitaxy with precisely controlled composition is still out of reach. Here we have successfully developed solution-based single-crystalline epitaxy for multiferroic(1-x)BiTi(1-y)/2FeyMg(1-y)/2O3–(x)CaTiO3(BTFM–CTO)solid solution in large area, confirming its ferroelectricity at the atomic scale with strong spontaneous polarization.Careful compositional tuning leads to a bulk magnetization of 0.07±0.035μB/Fe at room temperature, enabling magnetically induced polarization switching exhibiting a large magnetoelectric coefficient of 2.7–3.0×10^-7 s/m.This work demonstrates the great potential of solution processing in large-scale complex oxide epitaxy and establishes novel room-temperature magnetoelectric coupling in epitaxial BTFM–CTO film, making it possible to explore a much wider space of composition, phase, and structure that can be easily scaled up for industrial applications. | Cong Liu Feng An Paria S.M.Gharavi Qinwen Lu Junkun Zha Chao Chen Liming Wang Xiaozhi Zhan Zedong Xu Yuan Zhang Ke Qu Junxiang Yao Yun Ou Zhiming Zhao Xiangli Zhong Dongwen Zhang Nagarajan Valanoor Lang Chen Tao Zhu Deyang Chen Xiaofang Zhai Peng Gao Tingting Jia Shuhong Xie Gaokuo Zhong Jiangyu Li | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,1: | 2
Enantioseparation by HPLC Using an Inorganic Chiral Mesoporous Silica with Highly-ordered Structure显示文摘Highly-ordered inorganic chiral mesoporous silica(HOCMS)has attracted substantial interest in recent decades.High performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)is the most important approach for the separation of enantiomers and herein reported an HPLC chiral stationary phase composed of HOCMS.The column was fabricated by conventional high pressure slurry packing.Eighteen racemates, including alcohols, ketones, amines, aldehydes and organic acids, were resolved on the column.Good chiral separations of hydrobenzoin, metoprolol, propranolol hydrochloride,4-methyl-2-pentanol,omeprazole,2,2′-furoin and ketoprofen were obtained. The relative standard devi-ations for five replicate separations of racemates were 0.1%–0.16%for retention time and 1.73%–2.64%for peak areas. The results suggest that HOCMS is a promising candidate for preparation of chiral stationary phases for HPLC. | PENG Bo FU Shiguo LI Yanxia ZHANG Junhui XIE Shengming LI Li LYU Yun DU AN Aihong CHEN Xuexian YUAN Liming | 2019 | Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2019,35,6: | 1

The construction and optimization of engineered yeast chassis for efficient biosynthesis of 8-hydroxygeraniol显示文摘Microbial production of monoterpenoid indole alkaloids(MIAs)provides a sustainable and eco-friendly means to obtain compounds with high pharmaceutical values. However, efficient biosynthesis of MIAs in heterologous microorganisms is hindered due to low supply of key precursors such as geraniol and its derivative 8-hydroxygeraniol catalyzed by geraniol 8-hydroxylase(G8H).In this study,we developed a facile evolution platform to screen strains with improved yield of geraniol by using the SCRaMbLE system embedded in the Sc2.0 synthetic yeast and confirmed the causal role of relevant genomic targets.Through genome mining,we identified several G8H enzymes that perform much better than the commonly used CrG8H for 8-hydroxygeraniol production in vivo.We further showed that the N-terminus of these G8H enzymes plays an important role in cellular activity by swapping experiments. Finally, the combination of the engineered chassis, optimized biosynthesis pathway, and utilization of G8H led to the final strain with more than 30-fold improvement in producing 8-hydroxygeraniol compared with the starting strain.Overall, this study will provide insights into the construction and optimization of yeast cells for efficient biosynthesis of 8-hydroxygeraniol and its derivatives. | Yu Zhang Mengdi Yuan Xinxin Wu Qiuhui Zhang Yuzhu Wang Liming Zheng Tsan-Yu Chiu Huiming Zhang Lei Lan Feng Wang Ying Liao Xuemei Gong Shirui Yan Yun Wang Yue Shen Xian Fu | 2023 | mLife2023,2,4: | 0
Seven amino acid peptide mimic from HVR1 of HCV influences cytokine profile of immune cells显示文摘Objective:To investigate the actions of cytokine profile in the immune cells by a seven amino acid peptide mimic from HVR1 of HCV (GQTYTSG,named 7P).Methods:The peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from 17 healthy blood donors were stimulated with 7P,and the cytokine levels in CD4+CD8-,CD4-CD8+ T cells,NK,NKT cells were analyzed by the intracellular cytokine staining. Results:The frequency of cells which secreted interferon-γ (IFN-γ) was found to be significantly increased in all cells,interleukin-10(IL-10) was significantly increased in CD4+CD8-,CD4-CD8+ T cells but decreased in NK,NKT cells, and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) was decreased in CD4+CD8-,CD4-CD8+ but increased in NK cells.Conclusion:7P could induce a cytokine profile in different immune cells in vitro and there was some difference between the CD4+CD8-,CD4-CD8+ T cells which represented the adaptive immunity cells and NK,NKT cells which represented the innate immunity cells. This kind of variation of cytokine profile might contribute to anti-virus and anti-inflammatory immune reaction. | Song Chunhui Chen Liming Yang Bin Chi Shuping Cheng Yun | 2010 | Journal of Medical Colleges of PLA(China)2010,25,5: | 0
A phase II study on Mefatinib as first-line treatment of patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer harboring uncommon EGFR mutations显示文摘Dear Editor,Uncommon mutations in exons 18-21 of the epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)gene account for 10%–15%of all EGFR mutations when considered as a whole group[1,2].However,each variant confers heterogeneous clinical outcomes to different generations of EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs)with G719X,L861Q,and/or S768I showing adequate sensitivity to EGFR inhibition[1–3].Osimertinib,based on its superior survival outcomes, has become the preferred first-line treatment for patients diagnosed with advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)harboring common EGFR mutations[4];however,its efficacy in patients harboring G719X,S768I,and/or L861Q mutations was comparable or even inferior to Afatinib[5].Afatinib,a second-generation EGFR-TKI,has received approval for extended clinical indication in treating previously untreated patients with metastatic NSCLC harboring G719X,L861Q,and/or S768I based on the findings from the pooled analysis of three clinical trials(LUX-Lung 2/3/6)[2].The real-world clinical efficacy of Afatinib for treating this patient subset has been consistently demonstrated by two large retrospective studies[6,7].In China, chemotherapy remains a standard first-line treatment for this patient subset, with Afatinib available only as an off-label treatment option. | Pingli Wang Liming Cao Panwen Tian Shengxiang Ren Liyun Miao Chengzhi Zhou Yun Fan Yuping Li Dongqing Lv Xin Zhao Mei Yang Chaonan Zhu Bing Yu June Xu Yong Song Kai Wang | 2023 | Cancer Communications2023,43,9: | 0
Structural Geology and Tectonics in Marine Science:Perspectives in the Research of Deep Sea and Deep Interior显示文摘The fields of structural geology and tectonics have witnessed great progress over the last decade and are poised for further expansion in the future. One of the significant breakthroughs is the establishment of the 'Beyond Plate Tectonics Theory' where a combination of conceptual models and numerical modeling on plume tectonics and plate tectonics has enabled new insights into the structural and tectonic architecture and processes in the deep interior and deep sea. This paper synthesizes developments of structural geology and tectonics from a macroscopic perspective in deep interior and deep sea. Four key techniques are also reviewed: satellite altimetry for surface structures in deep-sea multi-beam sea-floor mapping; tomography for tectonics of the deep interior; diverse modeling approaches and software for unfolding dynamic evolution; and techniques for HT/HP experiments on material rheology and in situ component measurements. | LI Sanzhong JIN Chong SUO Yanhui M.Santosh DAI Liming LIU Xin MA Yun WANG Xiaofei ZHANG Bingkun YU Shan | 2012 | Journal of Ocean University of China2012,11,3: | 0
