1Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7 — Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China, 2001–2021显示文摘Escherichia coli(E.coli)that produce Shiga toxin or verocytotoxin is commonly known as Shiga toxinproducing E.coli(STEC)or verocytotoxin-producing E.coli(VTEC).Hemorrhagic enteritis(HC),caused by foodborne zoonotic pathogen enterohemorrhagic E.coli(EHEC)O157:H7,was first reported in the United States in 1982 and has since caused outbreaks of human infections in various countries such as Canada,Japan,and China.In China,the pathogen was isolated from the feces of patients with diarrhea in Xuzhou City,Jiangsu Province in 1986.It later caused an outbreak in Xuzhou and adjacent areas from 1999 to 2000(1).Measures that included investigation of diarrhea patients,identification of the pathogen,and clearing epidemiological characteristics were implemented to control the spread of the disease.Subsequently,a surveillance program was reformulated in 2001 in Tongshan District,Xuzhou City based on the national O157:H7 surveillance program and the reality of Jiangsu Province.The program included 18 towns for diarrhea patients and food surveillance,and 3 major animal farming towns for animal surveillance.The program has led to changes in the detection rates and virulence genes of the strains.In this study,we analyzed O157:H7 surveillance data from 2001 to 2021 to predict possible transmission risks.Wenwen Zhu Hui Guo Jingjing Xu Weiwei Wu Yanmin Yi Jiao Wang Ran Duan Jing Tong Yangguang Du 2023China CDC weekly2023,5,14:0
2Pt nanodendrites with (111) crystalline facet as an efficient, stable and pH-universal catalyst for electrochemical hydrogen production显示文摘High-performance nanomaterial catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction via electrochemical water splitting are significant to the development of hydrogen energy.In this work,we report a robust and highly active catalyst fabricated through direct electrochemical deposition of Pt nanodendrites at the surface of activated carbon(Pt NDs).Owing to the large elect roc he mically active area and the exposed(111) facet of Pt,Pt NDs exhibits outstanding activity towards hydrogen evolution reaction with a low requiring overpotential of 0.027 V at 10 mA/cm2 and Tafel slope of ≈22 mV/dec in acidic media.In addition,the hydrogen yield of Pt NDs is 30%-45% larger than that of commercial Pt/C at the same Pt loadings.Moreover,Pt NDs exhibits excellent lo ng-term durability whose hydrogen production efficiency remains unchanged after six-hour hydrogen production,while the efficiency of commercial Pt/C catalyst decayed 9% under the same circumstance.Considering the superiority of catalytic activity and stability,this Pt NDs present great potentiality towards practical hydrogen production application.Huifang Sun Qi Zeng Chen Ye Yangguang Zhu Feiyue Chen Mingyang Yang Li Fu Shiyu Du Jinhong Yu Nan Jiang Jianxiong Liu Tianzhun Wu Cheng-Te Lin 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,9:0
3Layer-by-layer stacked graphene nanocoatings by Marangoni self-assembly for corrosion protection of stainless steel显示文摘Graphene nanosheets are widely used in anti-corrosion polymeric coating as filler,owing to the excellent electrochemical inertness and barrier property.However,as the arrangement of graphene nanosheets is difficult to form a perfect layered structure,polymeric coating with graphene nanosheets usually needs micron-scale thickness to ensure the enhancement of corrosion protection.In this work,layer-by-layer stacked graphene nanocoatings were fabricated on stainless steel by self-assembly based on Marangoni effect.The anti-corrosion property of graphene coatings were studied through Tafel polarization curves,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and accelerated corrosion test with extra applied voltage.The self corrosion current density of optimized three-layered graphene coated sample was one quarter of that of bare stainless steel.And the self corrosion potential of optimized sample is increased to-0.045 V.According to the results,graphene nanocoatings composed of layered nanosheets exhibits good anticorrosion property.Besides,the self-assembly method provide a promising approach to make layeredstructure coating for other researches about 2 D material nanosheets.Chen Ye Yangguang Zhu Hongyan Sun Feiyue Chen Huifang Sun Wen Dai Qiuping Wei Li Fu Aimin Yu Shiyu Du Minghui Yang Liang-Feng Huang Jinhong Yu Nan Jiang Cheng-Te Lin 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,1:0
4Photobiomodulation inhibits the expression of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans after spinal cord injury via the Sox9 pathway显示文摘Both glial cells and glia scar greatly affect the development of spinal cord injury and have become hot spots in research on spinal cord injury treatment.The cellular deposition of dense extracellular matrix proteins such as chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans inside and around the glial scar is known to affect axonal growth and be a major obstacle to autogenous repair.These proteins are thus candidate targets for spinal cord injury therapy.Our previous studies demonstrated that 810 nm photo biomodulation inhibited the formation of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans after spinal cord injury and greatly improved motor function in model animals.However,the specific mechanism and potential targets involved remain to be clarified.In this study,to investigate the therapeutic effect of photo biomodulation,we established a mouse model of spinal cord injury by T9 clamping and irradiated the injury site at a power density of 50 mW/cm~2 for 50 minutes once a day for 7 consecutive days.We found that photobiomodulation greatly restored motor function in mice and down regulated chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan expression in the injured spinal cord.Bioinformatics analysis revealed that photobiomodulation inhibited the expression of proteoglycan-related genes induced by spinal cord injury,and versican,a type of proteoglycan,was one of the most markedly changed molecules.Immunofluorescence staining showed that after spinal cord injury,versican was present in astrocytes in spinal cord tissue.The expression of versican in primary astrocytes cultured in vitro increased after inflammation induction,whereas photobiomodulation inhibited the expression of ve rsican.Furthermore,we found that the increased levels of p-Smad3,p-P38 and p-Erk in inflammatory astrocytes were reduced after photobiomodulation treatment and after delivery of inhibitors including FR 180204,(E)-SIS3,and SB 202190.This suggests that Sma d 3/Sox9 and MAP K/Sox9 pathways may be involved in the effects of photobiomodulation.In summary,our findings show that photobiomodulation modulates the expression of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans,and versican is one of the key target molecules of photo biomodulation.MAPK/Sox9 and Smad3/Sox9 pathways may play a role in the effects of photo biomodulation on chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan accumulation after spinal cord injury.Zhihao Zhang Zhiwen Song Liang Luo Zhijie Zhu Xiaoshuang Zuo Cheng Ju Xuankang Wang Yangguang Ma Tingyu Wu Zhou Yao Jie Zhou Beiyu Chen Tan Ding Zhe Wang Xueyu Hu 2024Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,1:0
