1Thermal evolution effects on the properties of converting Cs-polluted soil into pollucite-base glass-ceramics for radioactive cesium immobilization显示文摘The Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan on March 11,2011,produced large amounts of Cs-polluted soil which must be controlled to prevent the spread of hazardous Cs into the environment.In this paper,the effects of heat treatment on the structure and properties of Cs-containing glass-ceramics,as a simulated nuclear waste form,were systematically investigated.Cesium atoms are chemically bonded in the pollucite structure,and the amorphous phase further encapsulates the pollucite crystals in the glassceramics,thus providing an extra protective layer for the immobilized Cs.XRD analysis,Raman and FT-IR studies on the glass-ceramics synergistically indicated that the optimum crystallization temperature for pollucite is around 1000℃.The pollucite is predominantly the main crystalline phase with a narrow crystal size distribution between 0.5 and 2 mm.Standard leaching test results show that the leaching rate of Cs was very low(3.0×10^(-3) g/(m^(2)·d)).The study offers a practical method for immobilizing Cs in pollucite-base glass-ceramics.Moreover,the experimentally obtained data may provide some important references for converting Cs-polluted soil into pollucite-base glass-ceramics waste form.Yong Yang Xin Cao Lifen Shi Zhengyi Zhang Pingping Wang Jinwei Li Yangshan Sun Shuyong Chen Tianhe Wang Liyun Ma Shou Peng 2021Journal of Materiomics2021,7,6:2
2Effects of Heat Treatments on Microstructures and Precipitation Behaviour of Mg_(94)Y_4Zn_2 Extruded Alloy显示文摘Microstructures and precipitation behaviours of Mg_(94)Y_4Zn_2(at.%) extruded alloy during solution treatment and ageing processes were investigated.Three major phases were observed in the as-cast Mg_(94)Zn_2Y_4 alloy:a-Mg,block shaped 18R long period stacking ordered(LPSO) phase and M_(94)Y_5 cuboid particles.After homogenization and extrusion,the block shaped LPSO phase changed into plate-like shape aligned along the direction of extrusion.During solution treatment,a small fraction of LPSO phase was transformed from 18R structure to14H type.The nano-scale β' phase with its close-packed planes being perpendicular to the direction of both a-Mg and LPSO structure was precipitated at ageing stage.The coexistence of β' and LPSO phase contributes to the strengthening of the alloy,with microhardness for the matrix and LPSO structures reaching 145.8 and155.0 HV,respectively.Huan Liu Feng Xue Jing Bai Jian Zhou Yangshan Sun 2014Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,2:2
3Microstructure and wear properties of the electroslag remelting layer reinforced by TiC particles显示文摘The electroslag remelting (ESR) layer reinforced by TiC particles was obtained by electroslag remelting. The microstruc-ture and wear properties of the ESR layer were studied by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and wear test. The results indicate that TiC particles are synthesized by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) reaction during the electroslag remelting process. The size of TiC particles is in the range of 1-10 μm, and the distribution of TiC particles is uniform, from outside to inside of the ESR layer, and the volume fraction and the size of TiC particles decrease gradually. Molten iron and slag flow into porosity due to the SHS process leading to rapid densification and the elimination of porosity in the ESR layer during the ESR process. TiC particles enhance the wear resistance of the ESR layer, whereas CaF2 can improve the high temperature lubricating property of the ESR layer.Qianlin Wu Yangshan Sun Guoqing Li 2008Journal of University of Science and Technology Beijing2008,15,6:2
