| 1 | The corrosion behavior of Ti-6Al-3Nb-2Zr-1Mo alloy:Effects of HCl concentration and temperature显示文摘Investigation about the corrosion behavior of Ti alloys in different ambient environment is of great significance for their practical application.Herein,we systematically investigate the corrosion behavior of a newfound Ti-6 Al-3 Nb-2 Zr-1 Mo(Ti80)alloy in hydrochloric acid(HCl)ranging from 1.37 to 7 M,and temperature ranging from 25 to 55℃,by means of electrochemical measurements,static immersion tests and surface analysis.Results manifest that increasing either HCl concentration or temperature can accelerate the corrosion of Ti80 alloy via promoting the breakdown of native protective oxide film and then further facilitating the active dissolution of Ti80 matrix.According to potentiodynamic polarization curves,Ti80 alloy displays a spontaneous passive behavior in 1.37 M HCl at 25℃,compared to a typical active-passive behavior under the other conditions.As indicated by cathodic Tafel slope,the rate determining step for cathodic hydrogen evolution reaction is likely the discharge reaction step.The apparent activation energies obtained from corrosion current density and maximum anodic current density for Ti80 alloy in 5 M HCl solution are 62.4 and 55.6 kJ mol-1,respectively,which signifies that the rate determining step in the corrosion process of Ti80 alloy is mainly determined by surface-chemical reaction rather than diffusion.Besides,the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests demonstrate that a stable and compact oxide film exists in 1.37 M HCl at 25℃,whereas a porous corrosion product film forms under the other conditions.Overall,the critical HCl concentration at which Ti80 alloy can maintain passivation at 25℃can be determined as a value between 1.37 and 3 M.Furthermore,the corroded surface morphology characterization reveals that equiaxedαphase is more susceptible to corrosion compared to intergranularβphase due to a lower content of Nb,Mo,and Zr in the former. | Baoxian Su Binbin Wang Liangshun Luo Liang Wang Yanqing Su Fuxin Wang Yanjin Xu Baoshuai Han Haiguang Huang Jingjie Guo Hengzhi Fu | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,15: | 5 |
| 2 | An efficient method for vibration and stability analysis of rectangular plates axially moving in fluid显示文摘An efficient method is developed to investigate the vibration and stability of moving plates immersed in fluid by applying the Kirchhoff plate theory and finite element method.The fluid is considered as an ideal fluid and is described with Bernoulli’s equation and the linear potential flow theory.Hamilton’s principle is used to acquire the dynamic equations of the immersed moving plate.The mass matrix,stiffness matrix,and gyroscopic inertia matrix are determined by the exact analytical integration.The numerical results show that the fundamental natural frequency of the submersed moving plates gradually decreases to zero with an increase in the axial speed,and consequently,the coupling phenomenon occurs between the first-and second-order modes.It is also found that the natural frequency of the submersed moving plates reduces with an increase in the fluid density or the immersion level.Moreover,the natural frequency will drop obviously if the plate is located near the rigid wall.In addition,the developed method has been verified in comparison with available results for special cases. | Yanqing WANG Han WU Fengliu YANG Quan WANG | 2021 | Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2021,42,2: | 3 |
| 3 | The mechanosensitive lncRNA Neat1 promotes osteoblast function through paraspeckle-dependent Smurf1 mRNA retention显示文摘Mechanical stimulation plays an important role in bone remodeling. Exercise-induced mechanical loading enhances bone strength,whereas mechanical unloading leads to bone loss. Increasing evidence has demonstrated that long noncoding RNAs(lnc RNAs) play key roles in diverse biological, physiological and pathological contexts. However, the roles of lnc RNAs in mechanotransduction and their relationships with bone formation remain unknown. In this study, we screened mechanosensing lnc RNAs in osteoblasts and identified Neat1, the most clearly decreased lnc RNA under simulated microgravity. Of note, not only Neat1 expression but also the specific paraspeckle structure formed by Neat1 was sensitive to different mechanical stimulations, which were closely associated with osteoblast function. Paraspeckles exhibited small punctate aggregates under simulated microgravity and elongated prolate or larger irregular structures under mechanical loading. Neat1 knockout mice displayed disrupted bone formation, impaired bone structure and strength, and reduced bone mass. Neat1 deficiency in osteoblasts reduced the response of osteoblasts to mechanical stimulation. In vivo, Neat1 knockout in mice weakened the bone phenotypes in response to mechanical loading and hindlimb unloading stimulation. Mechanistically, paraspeckles promoted nuclear retention of E3 ubiquitin ligase Smurf1 m RNA and downregulation of their translation, thus inhibiting ubiquitination-mediated degradation of the osteoblast master transcription factor Runx2, a Smurf1 target. | 7 | Biocompatible chitosan/polyethylene glycol/multi-walled carbon nanotube composite scaffolds for neural tissue engineering显示文摘Carbon nanotube(CNT)composite materials are very attractive for use in neural tissue engineering and biosensor coatings.CNT scaffolds are excellent mimics of extracellular matrix due to their hydrophilicity,viscosity,and biocompatibility.CNTs can also impart conductivity to other insulating materials improve mechanical stability guide neuronal cell behavior and trigger axon regeneration.The performance of chitosan(CS)/polyethylene glycol(PEG)composite scaffolds could be optimized by introducing multi-walled CNTs(MWCNTs).CS/PEG/CNT composite scaffolds with CNT content of 1%,3%,and 5%(1%=0.01 g/mL)were prepared by freeze-drying.Their physical and chemical properties and biocompatibility were evaluated.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)showed that the composite scaffolds had a highly connected porous structure.Transmission electron microscope(TEM)and Raman spectroscopy proved that the CNTs were well dispersed in the CS/PEG matrix and combined with the CS/PEG nanofiber bundles.MWCNTs enhanced the elastic modulus of the scaffold.The porosity of the scaffolds ranged from 83%to 96%.They reached a stable water swelling state within 24 h,and swelling decreased with increasing MWCNT concentration.The electrical conductivity and cell adhesion rate of the scaffolds increased with increasing MWCNT content.Immunofluorescence showed that rat pheochromocytoma(PC12)cells grown in the scaffolds had characteristics similar to nerve cells.We measured changes in the expression of nerve cell markers by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR),and found that PC12 cells cultured in the scaffolds expressed growth-associated protein 43(GAP43),nerve growth factor receptor(NGFR),and class IIIβ-tubulin(TUBB3)proteins.Preliminary research showed that the prepared CS/PEG/CNT scaffold has good biocompatibility and can be further applied to neural tissue engineering research. | Shengbo SANG Rong CHENG Yanyan CAO Yayun YAN Zhizhong SHEN Yajing ZHAO Yanqing HAN | 2022 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2022,23,1: | 2 |

| 20 | Comparisons of Wave Force Model Effects on the Structural Responses and Fatigue Loads of a Semi-Submersible Floating Wind Turbine显示文摘The selection of wave force models will significantly impact the structural responses of floating wind turbines.In this study,comparisons of wave force model effects on the structural responses and fatigue loads of a semi-submersible floating wind turbine(SFWT)were conducted.Simulations were performed by employing the Morison equation(ME)with linear or second-order wave kinematics and potential flow theory(PFT)with first-or second-order wave forces.A comparison of regular waves,irregular waves,and coupled wind/waves analyses with the experimental data showed that many of the simulation results and experimental data are relatively consistent.However,notable discrepancies are found in the response amplitude operators for platform heave,tower base bending moment,and tension in mooring lines.PFT models give more satisfactory results of heave but more significant discrepan-cies in tower base bending moment than the ME models.In irregular wave analyses,low-frequency resonances were captured by PFT models with second-order difference-frequency terms,and high-frequency resonances were captured by the ME models or PFT models with second-order sum-frequency terms.These force models capture the response frequencies but do not reasonably predict the response amplitudes.The coupled wind/waves analyses showed more satisfactory results than the wave-only analyses.However,an important detail to note is that this satisfactory result is based on the overprediction of wind-induced responses. | HAN Yanqing LE Conghuan ZHANG Puyang XU Shengnan | 2024 | Journal of Ocean University of China2024,23,1: | 0 |
