| 1 | Promotional effect of Si-doped V_2O_5/TiO_2 for selective catalytic reduction of NOx by NH_3显示文摘TiO2 supports doped with different amounts of Si were prepared by a sol-gel method, and 1 wt% vanadia (V2O5) loaded on Si-doped TiO2 was obtained by an impregnation method. The mole ratio of Si/Ti was 0.2, NOx conversion exceeds 94% at 300℃ and GHSV of 41,324 hr-1 , which is about 20% higher than pure V2O5/TiO2 . The catalysts were characterized by XRD, BET, TEM, FT-IR, NH3-TPD, XPS, H2-TPR, Raman and in situ DRIFTS. The results of FT-IR and XPS indicated that Si was doped into the TiO2 lattice successfully and a solid solution was obtained. V2O5 active component could be dispersed well on the support with the increasing of surface area of the catalyst, which was confirmed by Raman and XRD results. | 4 | Chemical dehydration coupling multi-effect evaporation to treat waste sulfuric acid in titanium dioxide production process显示文摘In order to concentrate the diluted sulfuric acid from the titanium dioxide(TiO2)production of sulphate process,a new concentration process was proposed by coupling chemical dehydration and multi-effect evaporation.The ferrous sulfate monohydrate(FeSO4·H2O),as the dehydrant,was added to the diluted sulfuric acid to form ferrous sulfate heptahydrate(FeSO4·7H2O)according to the H2SO4-FeSO4-H2O phase diagrams,which partially removes the water.This process was named as Chemical Dehydration Process.The residual water was further removed by two-effect evaporation and finally 70 wt%sulfuric acid was obtained.The FeSO4·H2O can be regenerated through drying and dehydration of FeSO4·7H2O.The results show that FeSO4·H2O is the most suitable dehydrant,the optimal reaction time of chemical dehydration process is 30 min,and low temperature is favorable for the dehydration reaction.45.17%of the entire removed water can be removed by chemical dehydration from the diluted sulfuric acid.This chemical dehydration process is also energy efficient with 24.76%saving compared with the direct evaporation process.Furthermore,51.21%of the FeSO4 dissolved originally in the diluted sulfuric acid are precipitated out during the chemical dehydration,which greatly reduces the solid precipitation and effectively alleviates the scaling in the subsequent multi-effect evaporation process. | Hongyin Pang Ruifang Lu Tao Zhang Li Lü Yanxiao Chen Shengwei Tang | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,4: | 7 |
| 5 | Enhanced photocatalytic N2 fixation by promoting N2 adsorption with a co-catalyst显示文摘Photocatalytic N2 fixation involves a nitrogen reduction reaction on the surface of the photocatalyst to convert N2 into ammonia.Currently,the adsorption of N2 is the limiting step for the N2 reduction reaction on the surface of the catalyst.Based on the concept of photocatalytic water splitting,the photocatalytic efficiency can be greatly enhanced by introducing a co-catalyst.In this report,we proposed a new strategy,namely,the loading of a NiS co-catalyst on CdS nanorods for photocatalytic N2 fixation.Theoretical calculation results indicated that N2 was effectively adsorbed onto the NiS/CdS surface.Temperature programmed desorption studies confirmed that the N2 molecules preferred to adsorb onto the NiS/CdS surface.Linear sweep voltammetry results revealed that the overpotential of the N2 reduction reaction was reduced by loading NiS.Furthermore,transient photocurrent and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy indicated that the charge separation was enhanced by introducing NiS.Photocatalytic N2 fixation was carried out in the presence of the catalyst dispersed in water without any sacrificial agent.As a result,1.0 wt% NiS/CdS achieved an ammonia production rate of 2.8 and 1.7 mg L-1 for the first hour under full spectrum and visible light(λ>420 nm),respectively.The catalyst demonstrated apparent quantum efficiencies of 0.76%,0.39% and 0.09% at 420,475 and 520 nm,res pectively.This study provides a new method to promote the photocatalytic efficiency of N2 fixation. | Xiang Gao Li An Dan Qu Wenshuai Jiang Yanxiao Chai Shaorui Sun Xingyuan Liu Zaicheng Sun | 2019 | Science Bulletin2019,64,13: | 6 |
| 6 | Creation of aromatic maize by CRISPR/Cas显示文摘Aroma is an important quality parameter for breeding in rice(Oryza sativa).For example,the aromatic rice varieties basmati and jasmine rice,with a popcorn-like scent,are popular worldwide and routinely command a price premium.2-acetyl-1-pyrroline(2AP)is a key flavor compound among over 200 volatiles identified in fragrant rice.A naturally fragrant germplasm exists in multiple plant species besides rice,which all exhibit lower activity of BETAINE ALDEHYDE DEHYDROGENASE 2(BADH2).However,no equivalent aromatic germplasm has been described in maize(Zea mays).Here,we characterized the two maize BADH2 homologs,ZmBADH2a and ZmBADH2b.We generated zmbadh2a and zmbadh2b single mutants and the zmbadh2a-zmbadh2b double mutant by CRISPR/Cas in four inbred lines.A popcorn-like scent was only noticeable in seeds from the double mutant,but not from either single mutant or in wild type.In agreement,we only detected 2AP in fresh kernels and dried mature seeds from the double mutant,which accumulated between 0.028 and 0.723 mg/kg 2AP.These results suggest that ZmBADH2a and ZmBADH2b redundantly participate in 2AP biosynthesis in maize,and represent the creation of the world's first aromatic maize by simultaneous genome editing of the two BADH2 genes. | Yanxiao Wang Xiaoqin Liu Xiuxiu Zheng Wenxia Wang Xunqing Yin Haifeng Liu Changle Ma Xiaomu Niu Jian-Kang Zhu Fei Wang | 2021 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,9: | 3 |

| 10 | Measuring loblolly pine crowns with drone imagery through deep learning显示文摘In modeling forest stand growth and yield,crown width,a measure for stand density,is among the parameters that allows for estimating stand timber volumes.However,accurately measuring tree crown size in the field,in particular for mature trees,is challenging.This study demonstrated a novel method of applying machine learning algorithms to aerial imagery acquired by an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)to identify tree crowns and their widths in two loblolly pine plantations in eastern Texas,USA.An ortho mosaic image derived from UAV-captured aerial photos was acquired for each plantation(a young stand before canopy closure,a mature stand with a closed canopy).For each site,the images were split into two subsets:one for training and one for validation purposes.Three widely used object detection methods in deep learning,the Faster region-based convolutional neural network(Faster R-CNN),You Only Look Once version 3(YOLOv3),and single shot detection(SSD),were applied to the training data,respectively.Each was used to train the model for performing crown recognition and crown extraction.Each model output was evaluated using an independent test data set.All three models were successful in detecting tree crowns with an accuracy greater than 93%,except the Faster R-CNN model that failed on the mature site.On the young site,the SSD model performed the best for crown extraction with a coefficient of determination(R^(2))of 0.92,followed by Faster R-CNN(0.88)and YOLOv3(0.62).As to the mature site,the SSD model achieved a R^(2)as high as 0.94,follow by YOLOv3(0.69).These deep leaning algorithms,in particular the SSD model,proved to be successfully in identifying tree crowns and estimating crown widths with satisfactory accuracy.For the purpose of forest inventory on loblolly pine plantations,using UAV-captured imagery paired with the SSD object detention application is a cost-effective alternative to traditional ground measurement. | Xiongwei Lou Yanxiao Huang Luming Fang Siqi Huang Haili Gao Laibang Yang Yuhui Weng I.-K.uai Hung | 2022 | Journal of Forestry Research2022,33,1: | 3 |

| 15 | Removal of refractory organics and heavy metals in landfill leachate concentrate by peroxi-coagulation process显示文摘Landfill leachate is a complex effluent and it is difficult to deal with. Electrochemical methods have been considered as a promising alternative technology for treatment of landfill leachate with refractory organic contaminants and heavy metals. Peroxi-coagulation(PC)process with iron anode and modified graphite felt cathode was developed for efficient landfill leachate concentrate treatment. Compared to electro-Fenton(EF) and electrocoagulation(EC) processes, the PC process was more cost-effective due to the combined action of·OH oxidation and iron hydroxides coagulation. A maximal TOC removal of 77.2% ± 1.4% was obtained after 360 min at initial p H = 5.0 and current density of 10 m A/cm^(2). After the PC process, concentrations of all seven heavy metals in the final effluents were below the allowable emission limits given by the present regulatory standards. The method preference for heavy metal removal was PC > EC > EF. Based on the three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy coupled with regional integration analysis during the PC treatment, the florescence peaks of both humic acids and fulvic acids disappeared after treatment for 360min. Decreasing trends were observed in the fluorescent regional standard volumes for aromatic protein Ⅰ(31.4%), aromatic protein Ⅱ(63.7%), fulvic acid-like(69.5%), soluble microbial by-product-like(75%) and humic acid-like regions(76.3%).
