| 1 | The distribution characteristics of heavy metals in Guiyang urban soils显示文摘Guiyang is located in southwestern China,which is a famous tourism city,and is awarded the title of'the Summer Capital of China'.A study on heavy metals in Guiyang urban soils was conducted.The results showed that the concentrations of Cd,Cu,Ni,Pb and Zn in Guiyang urban soils are significantly higher than their background values and Cu,Zn and Pb in Guiyang soils are accumulated seriously.The distribution characteristics of heavy metals in 3 districts are described as follows:the level of heavy metals in soils follows the order of Nanming District> Yunyan District>Xiaohe District.The spatial distribution of metals in urban soils of Guiyang shows that the level of metals in the central and eastern parts of Guiyang is relatively high,and its characteristics are attributed to the influence of commercial activities,heavy traffic and industrial emission.Compared with some other cities in China,Guiyang is characterized by relatively high accumulation level of Cd,Cu,and Zn in its soils. | LI Xiaoyan CAO Yijin QI Le SHU Fu | 2012 | Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2012,31,2: | 14 |

| 4 | Slope reliability analysis based on Monte Carlo simulation and sparse grid method显示文摘In order to solve the problem of the reliability of slope engineering due to complex uncertainties, the Monte Carlo simulation method is adopted. Based on the characteristics of sparse grid, an interpolation algorithm, which can be applied to high dimensional problems, is introduced. A surrogate model of high dimensional implicit function is established, which makes Monte Carlo method more adaptable. Finally, a reliability analysis method is proposed to evaluate the reliability of the slope engineering, and is applied in the Sau Mau Ping slope project in Hong Kong. | 6 | Evidence for oxygenation of Fe-Mg oxides at mid-mantle conditions and the rise of deep oxygen显示文摘As the reaction product of subducted water and the iron core,FeO2 with more oxygen than hematite(Fe_(2)O_(3))has been recently recognized as an important component in the D'layer just above the Earth’s core-mantle boundary.Here,we report a new oxygen-excess phase(Mg,Fe)_(2)O_(3)+δ(0<δ<1,denoted as‘OE-phase’).It forms at pressures greater than 40 gigapascal when(Mg,Fe)-bearing hydrous materials are heated over 1500 kelvin.The OE-phase is fully recoverable to ambient conditions for ex situ investigation using transmission electron microscopy,which indicates that the OE-phase contains ferric iron(Fe^(3+))as in Fe_(2)O_(3) but holds excess oxygen through interactions between oxygen atoms.The new OE-phase provides strong evidence that H_(2)O has extraordinary oxidation power at high pressure.Unlike the formation of pyrite-type FeO_(2)H_(x) which usually requires saturated water,the OE-phase can be formed with under-saturated water at mid-mantle conditions,and is expected to be more ubiquitous at depths greater than 1000 km in the Earth’s mantle.The emergence of oxygen-excess reservoirs out of primordial or subducted(Mg,Fe)-bearing hydrous materials may revise our view on the deep-mantle redox chemistry. | Jin Liu Chenxu Wang Chaojia Lv Xiaowan Su Yijin Liu Ruilian Tang Jiuhua Chen Qingyang Hu Ho-Kwang Mao Wendy L.Mao | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,4: | 2 |

| 15 | Osteoblast integration of dental implant materials after challenge by sub-gingival pathogens: a co-culture study in vitro显示文摘Sub-gingival anaerobic pathogens can colonize an implant surface to compromise osseointegration of dental implants once the soft tissue seal around the neck of an implant is broken. In vitro evaluations of implant materials are usually done in monoculture studies involving either tissue integration or bacterial colonization. Co-culture models, in which tissue cells and bacteria battle simultaneously for estate on an implant surface, have been demonstrated to provide a better in vitro mimic of the clinical situation. Here we aim to compare the surface coverage by U2 OS osteoblasts cells prior to and after challenge by two anaerobic sub-gingival pathogens in a co-culture model on differently modified titanium(Ti), titanium-zirconium(Ti Zr) alloys and zirconia surfaces. Monoculture studies with either U2 OS osteoblasts or bacteria were also carried out and indicated significant differences in biofilm formation between the implant materials, but interactions with U2 OS osteoblasts were favourable on all materials. Adhering U2 OS osteoblasts cells, however,were significantly more displaced from differently modified Ti surfaces by challenging sub-gingival pathogens than from Ti Zr alloys and zirconia variants.
