2Numerical analysis of respiratory flow patterns within human upper airway显示文摘A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approachis used to study the respiratory airflow dynamics within ahuman upper airway. The airway model which consists ofthe airway from nasal cavity, pharynx, larynx and tracheato triple bifurcation is built based on the CT images of ahealthy volunteer and the Weibel model. The flow characteristicsof the whole upper airway are quantitatively describedat any time level of respiratory cycle. Simulation results ofrespiratory flow show good agreement with the clinical measures,experimental and computational results in the literature.The air mainly passes through the floor of the nasalcavity in the common, middle and inferior nasal meatus. Thehigher airway resistance and wall shear stresses are distributedon the posterior nasal valve. Although the airways ofpharynx, larynx and bronchi experience low shear stresses,it is notable that relatively high shear stresses are distributedon the wall of epiglottis and bronchial bifurcations.Besides, two-dimensional fluid-structure interaction modelsof normal and abnormal airways are built to discuss theflow-induced deformation in various anatomy models. 5Occurrence,removal and emission of per-and polyfluorinated alkyl substances(PFASs)from chrome plating industry:A case study in Southeast China显示文摘Per-and polyfluorinated alkyl substances(PFASs)have been used since the 1950s as chrome mist suppressant(CMS)in the electroplating industry.In this study,various samples within an electroplating factory,the related wastewater treatment facilities and surrounding environment at Hangzhou Bay in Southeast China were investigated for the occurrence and removal of PFASs.PFOS and 6:2 Cl-PFAES are predominant compounds in the samples.The PFASs in the bath solution of the workshops had some differences from the final releases,partly because of the historic usage and memory effects.PFOS and 6:2 Cl-PFAES were found in high concentration(5500 and 154.5 mg/L in influent,795 and 985 mg/L in effluent)in the electroplating Wastewater Treatment Plant(WWTP).The ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis(RO)treatment had a significant removal efficiency(74%e100%).On the other hand the reduction,precipitation and anaerobic/anoxic/oxic(A2/O)treatment had poor removal efficiency for PFASs.The receiving river samples had levels of PFASs between 300 and 1500 ng/L,and the concentrations of PFOS and 6:2 Cl-PFAES decreased with increasing distance to the municipal WWTP outlet due to dilution.The concentrations of PFOA in the river water samples were also high but might originate from other sources.The relevant ecological risk is noteworthy,especially for PFOS and PFOA for which limits have been defined.There is an urgent need to control plating industries in China and worldwide.Currently a GEF project related to Stockholm Convention implementation has reduced and possibly eliminated PFOS use and release in the plating industry in China.In addition,it will be important to evaluate and control the alternatives used.Yingxi Qu Jun Huang Wolfram Willand Roland Weber 2020Emerging Contaminants2020,6,1:5
6Ce-modified AlZr pillared clays supported-transition metals for catalytic combustion of chlorobenzene显示文摘In this article, we provided a one-step hydrothermal method to prepare composite AlZr pillaring agents,and synthesized AlZr-pillared clays(AlZr-PILC) via ion exchange. Compared with conventional methods,our method successfully shortened synthetic routes and greatly reduced consumption of the materials.Then, AlZr-PILC-supported manganese and cerium oxide catalysts were obtained by impregnation method. The compositions and properties of these catalysts were characterized by some technical means.The energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy clearly shows the existence of Mn, Ce, and O, which indicates the successful loading of the active components on the surface of AlZr-PILC. Meanwhile, the results of Xray diffraction(XRD) and N_2 adsorption experiments demonstrate that the synthesized AlZr-PILC outperforms the raw clays(Na-mmt) and mononuclear AI-PILC in the catalytic combustion of chlorobenzene. XRD and high-re solution transmission electron microscopy also proves that the high activity of them is related to the high dispersion of the oxides and the exposure of more active sites. H_2-temperature-programmed reduction shows that cerium can promote the redox cycles of the manganese system through the strong interactions between MnO_2, CeO_2 and AlZr-PILC. 7A Second-Order Method for the Electromagnetic Scattering from a Large Cavity显示文摘In this paper,we study the electromagnetic scattering from a two dimen- sional large rectangular open cavity embedded in an infinite ground plane,which is modelled by Helmholtz equations.By introducing nonlocal transparent boundary con- ditions,the problem in the open cavity is reduced to a bounded domain problem.A hypersingular integral operator and a weakly singular integral operator are involved in the TM and TE cases,respectively.A new second-order Toeplitz type approximation and a second-order finite difference scheme are proposed for approximating the hyper- singular integral operator on the aperture and the Helmholtz in the cavity,respectively. The existence and uniqueness of the numerical solution in the TE case are established for arbitrary wavenumbers.A fast algorithm for the second-order approximation is pro- posed for solving the cavity model with layered media.Numerical results show the second-order accuracy and efficiency of the fast algorithm.More important is that the algorithm is easy to implement as a preconditioner for cavity models with more general media.Yingxi Wang Kui Du Weiwei Sun 2008Numerical Mathematics(Theory,Methods and Applications)2008,1,4:4
8Ratiometric delivery of doxorubicin and berberine by liposome enables superior therapeutic index than Doxil?显示文摘Although the appearance of Doxil alleviated the cardiotoxicity of DOX, the progression-free survival of patients was not prolonged compared with traditional medication regimens, and side effects such as hand-foot syndrome has occurred. In order to solve this dilemma, we have designed a novel co-delivery strategy to construct a co-loaded liposome of berberine(BER) and doxorubicin(DOX), which was called Lipo Be Do. The optimal synergistic ratio of the two drugs was screened by cell cytotoxicity experiments in vitro, and the optimal attenuation ratio was further determined by in vivo cardiac H&E staining pathological sections. The optimal combination treatment caused a robust increase in apoptotic cells of 4T1, as compared to drug alone treatment. The prepared co-loaded liposome, Lipo Be Do, had high encapsulation efficiency and good stability. The nanoliposome carrier controlled the biological fate of the drugs and maintained a pre-defined optimal ratio in vivo. The Lipo Be Do significantly inhibited tumor growth in 4T1 murine mammary carcinoma model compared with Doxil(P < 0.05), and completely overcame the myocardial rupture toxicity caused by Doxil in mice. 10One-step laser induced conversion of a gelatin-coated polyimide film into graphene:Tunable morphology,surface wettability and microsupercapacitor applications显示文摘Latest advances have witnessed the laser induction process on polyimide(PI)films for the formation of porous graphene.Herein,a fully converted graphene film was prepared by Nd:YAG laser scribing a gelatin coated PI film.It was found that the gelatin played the role of'shield'well in absorbing intense laser impact and benefit for the surface morphology modulation.Laser treatment lower than a critical fluence point of~4.00 J mm^(-2) contributed to a crater-like surface morphology due to the dispersed nature of Nd:YAG laser beam.By tuning laser fluence above the threshold,carbonized surface turned into continuous morphology.A fluid dynamics process accompanied by outgassing occurred during the carbonization,and the surface morphology gradually varied from stretched droplets to porous strips and finally to amorphous porous structures.The morphology evolution in combination with surface chemistry is responsible for the significant wettability transition from superhydrophobic to superhydrophilic,and a Janus superhydrophobic/superhydrophilic surface wettability was achieved under a laser fluence of~8.00 J mm^(-2).Eventually,microsupercapacitors(MSCs)were fabricated to show the great potential of our prepared graphene in flexible electronics.WANG WenTao LU LongSheng XIE YingXi LI ZeHong WU WeiBin LIANG RongXuan TANG Yong 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,5:2

12Controlling the laser induction and cutting process on polyimide films for kirigami-inspired supercapacitor applications显示文摘The recently emerging laser-induced graphene(LIG)technology,with one-step processing and designable features,has been widely used in the fabrication of wearable/portable electronics.Herein,by taking inspiration from kirigami,we designed a stretchable supercapacitor(SC)step by step through controlling laser induction and cutting process on the polyimide(PI)film,with the use of one single CO_(2) laser source.Firstly,the carbonized basic geometric units of lines were produced on PI films to investigate the processing-structure relationships.Then,the complex photothermal conversion and heat transfer progress involved in the carbonized process were simulated by a photothermal model.Both experimental and theoretical results suggested that the laser power,scan rate and focus condition have great influence on the size,shape and morphology of the carbonized lines.Finally,we optimized the parameters of laser induction and cutting process to fabricate the kirigami-inspired SCs with reliable electrochemical properties and editable mechanical flexibility,showing great potential in the field of flexible electronics.WANG WenTao LU LongSheng XIE YingXi WU WeiBin LIANG RongXuan LI ZeHong TANG Yong 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,3:2
