| 1 | 面向资料同化的S波段双偏振雷达质量控制显示文摘双偏振雷达是强对流天气分析和云微物理研究的重要探测设备,将多普勒天气雷达升级为双偏振雷达是我国未来几年强对流天气监测发展建设的重点计划,而双偏振雷达资料质量控制是其中的关键技术问题。针对国内首批业务布建的广东省S波段双偏振雷达网研发建立了一套完整的质量控制技术方案,除了重点解决非气象回波外,还考虑了非标准波束遮挡和径向高频脉动问题。在飑线、暴雨和台风3类华南季风区强天气个例的应用表明,基于模糊逻辑的水凝物分类、偏振量(零滞后互相关系数、信噪比和比差分相位)阈值检查和杂波剔除能有效剔除非气象回波,抑制异常传播波束导致的虚假回波;线性内插较好地弥补了非标准波束遮挡带来的观测缝隙;中值滤波和滑动平均既过滤了偏振观测量在雷达径向的高频脉动,又保留了主要的偏振雷达观测特征。质量控制后的气象回波约占有效观测(反射率因子大于-30 dBZ)的40%,其偏振量取值分别为反射率因子大于5 dBZ、零滞后互相关系数大于0.8和差分反射率为-0.2~4 dB。 | 王洪 孔凡铀 Jung Youngsun 吴乃庚 尹金方 | 2018 | 应用气象学报2018,29,5: | 11 |
| 2 | Current Status and Future Challenges of Weather Radar Polarimetry: Bridging the Gap between Radar Meteorology/Hydrology/Engineering and Numerical Weather Prediction显示文摘After decades of research and development, the WSR-88 D(NEXRAD) network in the United States was upgraded with dual-polarization capability, providing polarimetric radar data(PRD) that have the potential to improve weather observations,quantification, forecasting, and warnings. The weather radar networks in China and other countries are also being upgraded with dual-polarization capability. Now, with radar polarimetry technology having matured, and PRD available both nationally and globally, it is important to understand the current status and future challenges and opportunities. The potential impact of PRD has been limited by their oftentimes subjective and empirical use. More importantly, the community has not begun to regularly derive from PRD the state parameters, such as water mixing ratios and number concentrations, used in numerical weather prediction(NWP) models.In this review, we summarize the current status of weather radar polarimetry, discuss the issues and limitations of PRD usage, and explore potential approaches to more efficiently use PRD for quantitative precipitation estimation and forecasting based on statistical retrieval with physical constraints where prior information is used and observation error is included. This approach aligns the observation-based retrievals favored by the radar meteorology community with the model-based analysis of the NWP community. | 3 | HER2-induced metastasis is mediated by AKT/JNK/EMT signaling pathway in gastric cancer显示文摘AIM To investigated the relationships between HER2, c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK) and protein kinase B(AKT) with respect to metastatic potential of HER2-positive gastric cancer(GC) cells.METHODS Immunohistochemistry was performed on tissue array slides containing 423 human GC specimens. Using HER2-positve GC cell lines SNU-216 and NCI-N87, HER2 expression was silenced by RNA interference, and the activations of JNK and AKT were suppressed by SP600125 and LY294002, respectively. Transwell assay, Western blot, semi-quantitative reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction and immunofluorescence staining were used in cell culture experiments. RESULTS In GC specimens, HER2, JNK, and AKT activations were positively correlated with each other. In vitro analysis revealed a positive regulatory feedback loop between HER2 and JNK in GC cell lines and the role of JNK as a downstream effector of AKT in the HER2/AKT signaling pathway. JNK inhibition suppressed migratory capacity through reversing EMT and dual inhibition of JNK and AKT induced a more profound effect on cancer cell motility.CONCLUSION HER2, JNK and AKT in human GC specimens are positively associated with each other. JNK and AKT, downstream effectors of HER2, co-operatively contribute to the metastatic potential of HER2-positive GC cells. | 5 | Enhancing Hydrophilicity of Thick Electrodes for High Energy Density Aqueous Batteries显示文摘Thick electrodes can substantially enhance the overall energy density of batteries.However,insufficient wettability of aqueous electrolytes toward electrodes with conventional hydrophobic binders severely limits utilization of active materials with increasing the thickness of electrodes for aqueous batteries,resulting in battery performance deterioration with a reduced capacity.Here,we demonstrate that controlling the hydrophilicity of the thicker electrodes is critical to enhancing the overall energy density of batteries.Hydrophilic binders are synthesized via a simple sulfonation process of conventional polyvinylidene fluoride binders,considering physicochemical properties such as mechanical properties and adhesion.The introduction of abundant sulfonate groups of binders(i)allows fast and sufficient electrolyte wetting,and(ii)improves ionic conduction in thick electrodes,enabling a significant increase in reversible capacities under various current densities.Further,the sulfonated binder effectively inhibits the dissolution of cathode materials in reactive aqueous electrolytes.Overall,our findings significantly enhance the energy density and contribute to the development of practical zinc-ion batteries. | Jungeun Lee Hyeonsoo Lee Cheol Bak Youngsun Hong Daeha Joung Jeong Beom Ko Yong Min Lee Chanhoon Kim | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,7: | 2 |

| 15 | Evaluation of Unified Model Microphysics in High-resolution NWP Simulations Using Polarimetric Radar Observations显示文摘The UK Met Office Unified Model(UM) is employed by many weather forecasting agencies around the globe. This model is designed to run across spatial and time scales and known to produce skillful predictions for large-scale weather systems. However, the model has only recently begun running operationally at horizontal grid spacings of ~1.5 km [e.g.,at the UK Met Office and the Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA)]. As its microphysics scheme was originally designed and tuned for large-scale precipitation systems, we investigate the performance of UM microphysics to determine potential inherent biases or weaknesses. Two rainfall cases from the KMA forecasting system are considered in this study: a Changma(quasi-stationary) front, and Typhoon Sanba(2012). The UM output is compared to polarimetric radar observations in terms of simulated polarimetric radar variables. Results show that the UM generally underpredicts median reflectivity in stratiform rain, producing high reflectivity cores and precipitation gaps between them. This is partially due to the diagnostic rain intercept parameter formulation used in the one-moment microphysics scheme. Model drop size is generally both underand overpredicted compared to observations. UM frozen hydrometeors favor generic ice(crystals and snow) rather than graupel, which is reasonable for Changma and typhoon cases.
