3Wear characteristics of spheroidal graphite roll WC-8Co coating produced by electro-spark deposition显示文摘Electro-spark deposition(ESD) was adopted for preparing high property coatings by depositing WC-8Co cemented carbide on an spheroidal graphite roll substrate.The microstructure and properties of the coating were investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray(EDX) and ball-disc configuration wear tester.The results show that nanosized particles and amorphous structures prevail in the coating which is metallurgically bonded to the substrate.The microstructures of the transition zone include columnar structure and equiaxed structure.The primary phases of the coating contain W2C, W6C2.54, Fe3W3C, and Co3W3C.The results of abrasive test show that the coating has low friction coefficients(μaverage = 0.18) and the wear mechanisms are mainly abrasive wear, fatigue wear, and oxidation wear.The maximum microhardness value of the coating is about 17410 N/mm2.The study reveals that the electro-spark deposition process has better coating quality and the coating has high wear resistance and hardness.WANG Jiansheng, MENG Huimin, YU Hongying, FAN Zishuan, and SUN Dongbai School of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China 2010Rare Metals2010,29,2:21
4Advances in rheology and flow assurance studies of waxy crude显示文摘Flow assurance is one of the core issues in safe and economical operation of waxy crude pipelines.Its essence lies in flow and heat transfer of the crude.In the past 10 years,the authors' team has achieved a lot of innovative results in aspects of waxy crude rheology,flow assurance assessment,and pipelining technologies on the basis of decades of studies.The rheological characteristics of waxy crude are much better understood,and a method for quantitatively simulating the effect of flow shear was developed based on some theoretical breakthroughs.Studies of the mechanism of waxy crude rheology have been deepened to the quantitative level.After successful development of efficient numericalalgorithms,accurate simulations have been achieved for various complex flow and heat transfer situations in waxy crude pipelining,and a reliability-based approach to flow assurance assessment has been set up.New pipelining technologies have been developed such as batching pour-point depressant-(PPD-) treated multiple-waxy-crudes,intermittent transport of waxy crudes through long-distance pipelines,and batching hot and cold crudes.By their application,a series of problems hindering safe,efficient and flexible operation of waxy crude pipelines were tackled,demonstrating that transportation technologies for waxy crude have advanced to a new and high level.Zhang Jinjun Yu Bo Li Hongying Huang Qiyu 2013Petroleum Science2013,10,4:10
5Shaking table experimental study of recycled concrete frame-shear wall structures显示文摘In this study, four 1/5 scaled shaking table tests were conducted to investigate the seismic performance of recycled concrete frame-shear wall structures with different recycled aggregates replacement rates and concealed bracing detail. The four tested structures included one normal concrete model, one recycled coarse aggregate concrete model, and two recycled coarse and fi ne aggregate concrete models with or without concealed bracings inside the shear walls. The dynamic characteristics, dynamic response and failure mode of each model were compared and analyzed. Finite element models were also developed and nonlinear time-history response analysis was conducted. The test and analysis results show that the seismic performance of the recycled coarse aggregate concrete frame-shear wall structure is slightly worse than the normal concrete structure. The seismic resistance capacity of the recycled concrete frame-shear wall structure can be greatly improved by setting up concealed bracings inside the walls. 6Change of BMD after Weaning or Resumption of Menstruation in Chinese Women with Different FokI VDR-genotypes:A Randomized,Placebo-controlled,Calcium Supplementation Trial显示文摘Objective To investigate the effect of calcium supplementation on bone mineral density (BMD) in Chinese women with different FokI vitamin D receptor (VDR) genotypes (FF,Ff,and ff) after weaning or resumption of menstruation during lactation.Methods A total of 40 subjects with the same FokI VDR genotype were randomly divided into two groups:one received calcium tablet (600 mg once daily as CaCO 3) and the other placebo tablet once daily for 1 year.At baseline,BMD was measured by dual‐energy X‐ray absorptiometry at lumbar spine (L2‐L4) and at left hip whereas serum PICP,serum OC,and urinary CTX,serum 25(OH)VitD 3,and serum estradiol were measured at weaning and 1 year thereafter.Results After the intervention,BMD at lumbar spine and at left hip increased significantly in all these women with a trend among different FokI VDR genotypes such as FF > Ff > ff (P<0.05,<0.01,and <0.001,respectively).BMD at lumbar spine in women with FF VDR genotype increased much more rapidly than in those with ff VDR genotype (P<0.05).Compared with the control group women with the FF genotype regained more BMD after calcium supplementation (P<0.05).Conclusion Daily calcium 600 mg supplementation has beneficial effect on the bone health of women with FF VDR genotype.YU Bo WU HongYing LI Fang GONG Jie ZHOU DunJin ZHANG ZhiFeng YANG XiaoGuang HUANG ZhenWu 2011Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,3:6
7Algal-bloom control by allelopathy of aquatic macrophytes—A review显示文摘Algal-bloom control is an important issue for water environment protection as it induces several negative impacts on the lives of aquatic organisms,aquaculture,landscaping,and human health.The development of an environment-friendly,cost-effective,and convenient alternative for controlling algal bloom has gained much concern.Using the allelopathy of aquatic macrophytes as a novel and safe method for algal-bloom control is a promising alternative.This paper reviews the development and potential application about allelopathy of aquatic plants on algae,including the allelopathic research history,the potential research problems,the research methodology,and the reported aquatic macrophytes and their inhibitory allelochemicals.Potential modes of inhibition action of allelochemicals on algae,possible ways for application,and future development directions of research on algal-bloom control by aquatic macrophytes were also presented.Hongying HU Yu HONG 2008Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2008,2,4:6
8Effects of complexing agents on acidic electroless nickel deposition显示文摘Our previous study reported the influences of different complexing agents on electroless nickel(EN) by examining the properties of the deposits.In the present work,the effects of four common-used complexing agents on EN deposition rate and the stability of solution pH values were examined,either with an acetic pH buffer agent or absent of them.It is indicated that the pH buffering effect of them is dominative when the EN solution is lack of the pH buffer.Under this situation,the EN deposition rate increases with the concentration of complexing agents increasing.The EN deposition rate decreases with further adding the complexing agent when the solution already has enough pH buffer capability.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy obtained during EN deposition illustrates that,in this case,the enhanced reaction resistance is the main reason for a lower deposition rate.However,the influence of polarization caused by mass transfer is not negligible at high complex ratio for sodium citrate and malic acid EN solutions.JIN Ying YU Hongying YANG Dejun SUN Dongbai 2010Rare Metals2010,29,4:6
9Identification of odorous compounds in reclaimed water using FPA combined with sensory GC-MS显示文摘Odorous compounds in the influent of a reclaimed water treatment plant (RWTP),consisting of coagulation,sedimentation,continuous micro-filtration (CMF),and chlorination in succession,in a north China city,were identified by combining flavor profile analysis (FPA) with sensory gas chromatograph-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).The sewery/swampy/septic odor with an odor intensity of 6.4 was found to be the major odor group in the RWTP influent,and the existence of well-known odorant including dimethyl disulfide,dimethyl trisulfide,indole and skatole were confirmed using GC-MS.The result of a spiking test showed that the intensity (3.6) of the sewery/swampy/septic odor caused by these four chemicals contributed to over 50% of the odor intensity of the influent.The FPA intensity for sewery/swampy/septic odor in the RWTP effluent was 3.8,showing that the treatment process was not efficient for the removal of odorants,particularly indole and skatole.Zhiming Yan Yu Zhang Jianwei Yu Hongying Yuan Min Yang 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,10:6

12Performances of a Balanced Hydraulic Motor with Planetary Gear Train显示文摘The current research of a balanced hydraulic motor focuses on the characteristics of the motor with three planet gears.References of a balanced hydraulic motor with more than three planet gears are hardly found.In order to study the characteristics of a balanced hydraulic motor with planetary gear train that includes more than three planet gears,on the basis of analysis of the structure and working principle of a balanced hydraulic motor with planetary gear train,formulas are deduced for calculating the hydraulic motor's primary performance indexes such as displacement,unit volume displacement,flowrate fluctuation ratio,etc.Influences of the gears' tooth number on displacement and flowrate characteristics are analyzed.In order to guarantee the reliability of sealing capability,the necessary conditions that tooth number of the sun gear and the planet gears should satisfy are discussed.Selecting large unit volume displacement and small displacement fluctuation ratio as designing objectives,a balanced hydraulic motor with three planet gears and a common gear motor are designed under the conditions of same displacement,tooth addendum coefficien and clearance coefficient.By comparing the unit volume displacement and fluctuation ratio of the two motors,it can be seen that the balanced hydraulic motor with planetary gear train has the advantages of smaller fluctuation ratio and larger unit volume displacement.The results provide theoretical basis for choosing gear tooth-number of this kind of hydraulic motor.YU Hongying LUO Changjie WANG Huimin 2012Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,4:4

14Risk assessment of Giardia from a full scale MBR sewage treatment plant caused by membrane integrity failure显示文摘Membrane bioreactors(MBR) are highly efficient at intercepting particles and microbes and have become an important technology for wastewater reclamation. However, many pathogens can accumulate in activated sludge due to the long residence time usually adopted in MBR, and thus may pose health risks when membrane integrity problems occur.This study presents data from a survey on the occurrence of water-borne Giardia pathogens in reclaimed water from a full-scale wastewater treatment plant with MBR experiencing membrane integrity failure, and assessed the associated risk for green space irrigation. Due to membrane integrity failure, the MBR effluent turbidity varied between 0.23 and 1.90 NTU over a period of eight months. Though this turbidity level still met reclaimed water quality standards(≤ 5 NTU), Giardia were detected at concentrations of 0.3 to 95 cysts/10 L, with a close correlation between effluent turbidity and Giardia concentration. All β-giardin gene sequences of Giardia in the WWTP influents were genotyped as Assemblages A and B, both of which are known to infect humans. An exponential dose–response model was applied to assess the risk of infection by Giardia. The risk in the MBR effluent with chlorination was9.83 × 10-3, higher than the acceptable annual risk of 1.0 × 10-4. 15Experimental and analytical study on seismic behavior of steel-concrete multienergy dissipation composite shear walls显示文摘In this paper, a steel-concrete multi-energy dissipation composite shear wall, comprised of steel-reinforced concrete(SRC) columns, steel plate(SP) deep beams, a concrete wall and energy dissipation strips, is proposed. In order to study the multi-energy dissipation behavior and restorability after an earthquake, two stages of low cyclic loading tests were carried out on ten test specimens. In the first stage, test on five specimens with different number of SP deep beams was carried out, and the test lasted until the displacement drift reached 2%. In the second stage, thin SPs were welded to both sides of the five specimens tested in the first stage, and the same test was carried out on the repaired specimens(designated as new specimens). The load-bearing capacity, stiffness, ductility, hysteretic behavior and failure characteristics were analyzed for both stages and the results are discussed herein. Extrapolating from these results, strength calculation models and formulas are proposed herein and simulations using ABAQUS carried out; they show good agreement with the test results. The study demonstrates that SRC columns, SP deep beams, concrete wall and energy dissipation strips cooperate well and play an important role in energy dissipation. 17Stainless steel corrosion scale formed in reclaimed water: Characteristics, model for scale growth and metal element release显示文摘Stainless steels generally have extremely good corrosion resistance, but are still susceptible to pitting corrosion. As a result, corrosion scales can form on the surface of stainless steel after extended exposure to aggressive aqueous environments. Corrosion scales play an important role in affecting water quality. These research results showed that interior regions of stainless steel corrosion scales have a high percentage of chromium phases. We reveal the morphology, micro-structure and physicochemical characteristics of stainless steel corrosion scales. Stainless steel corrosion scale is identified as a podiform chromite deposit according to these characteristics, which is unlike deposit formed during iron corrosion. A conceptual model to explain the formation and growth of stainless steel corrosion scale is proposed based on its composition and structure. The scale growth process involves pitting corrosion on the stainless steel surface and the consecutive generation and homogeneous deposition of corrosion products, which is governed by a series of chemical and electrochemical reactions. This model shows the role of corrosion scales in the mechanism of iron and chromium release from pitting corroded stainless steel materials. The formation of corrosion scale is strongly related to water quality parameters.The presence of HClO results in higher ferric content inside the scales. 19China's foreign aid for global poverty alleviation:artemisinin-based combination therapies against malaria in Togo显示文摘From providing funds for the global fight against infectious diseases,to actively participating in global health security actions,to strengthening mutual cooperation in the field of health,and providing medical treatment,training and scholarships to countries in need,China’s foreign aid on global poverty alleviation is increasingly diversified and expanding in scale.Indeed,China is playing an increasingly important leading role in the global health agenda.It is worth mentioning that over the years,artemisinin compound have saved millions of lives all over the world,especially in poverty-stricken areas.China’s work mode of malaria elimination has also been written into WHO’s technical documents and recommended to other countries.Since 2007,Chinese medical staff has carried out the Artemisinin Compound Malaria Control Project in Comoros,bringing Chinese prevention and treatment programs to the local area.By 2014,Comoros had achieved zero deaths from malaria,and the number of cases had dropped by 98%.Now,this program is also extended to Togo,another African country.This article preliminarily summarizes the malaria profile in Togo and introduces China-Togo Cooperative Artemisinin Malaria Control Demonstration Project to provide a reference for better anti-malaria assistance in Togo,and also shows one of the substantive actions of China’s participation in global health governance,which contributes Chinese wisdom and offers Chinese solutions to global poverty alleviation.Qi Wang Chuyi Yu Hongying Zhang Shaoqin Zheng Jianping Song Changsheng Deng 2021Global Health Journal2021,5,3:3
20Synergetic Improvement of Interlaminar Fracture Toughness in Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Composites Interleaved with PES/PEK‑C Hybrid Nanofiber Veils显示文摘In this study,two types of soluble thermoplastic resins were added to epoxy resin at a fixed weight ratio to prepare a three-phase cast body.The cast was then manufactured into hybrid nanofiber as interleaves for interlaminar toughening of carbon fiber/epoxy resin(CF/EP)composites using a co-solvent method.The results revealed that when the hybrid components reached 15 wt%,Polyethersulfone(PES)and polyaryletherketone cardo(PEK-C)exhibited the best synergistic toughening effect,and the fracture toughness increased by 99.8%and 39.8%,respectively,compared with the reference or the same proportion of the single PES toughened sample.We used PES/PEK-C hybrid nanofibers with an areal density of 19.2 g per square meter(gsm)as composite toughening layers.Apart from the lack of significant influence of PES nanofiber on CF/EP composites,the interlaminar fracture toughness of mode I and mode II layers increased by 88.3%and 46.9%,respectively,compared to the reference sample.Scanning Electron Microscopy of the fracture surface and cross-section micromorphology of the laminate displayed that the thermoplastic microspheres of different sizes contribute differently to crack resistance:PEK-C consumes more energy due to the debonding and extraction of microspheres and resin,whereas the presence of the PES phase can induce more plastic deformation and crack deflection.Jinli Zhou Chenyu Zhang Chao Cheng Ming Wang Zhihui Yang Yanfei Yang Hongying Yang Muhuo Yu 2022Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,5:3
