2Assessment of the Performance of WEPP in Purple Soil Area with Simulated Rainfall Experiments显示文摘The water erosion prediction project(WEPP) model is a popular water erosion prediction tool developed on the basis of the physical processes of water erosion.Although WEPP has been widely used around the world,its application in China is still insufficient.In this study,the performance of WEPP used to estimate the runoff and soil loss on purple soil(Calcaric Regosols in FAO taxonomy) sloping cropland was assessed with the data from runoff plots under simulated rainfall conditions.Based on measured soil properties,runoff and erosion parameters,namely effective hydraulic conductivity,inter-rill erodibility,rill erodibility,and critical shear stress were determined to be 2.68 mm h-1,5.54 × 106 kg s-1 m 4,0.027 s m 1 and 3.5 Pa,respectively,by using the recommended equations in the WEPP user manual.The simulated results were not good due to the low Nash efficiency of 0.41 for runoff and negative Nash efficiency for soil loss.After the four parameters were calibrated,WEPP performed better for soil loss prediction with a Nash efficiency of 0.76.The different results indicated that the equations recommended by WEPP to calculate parameters such as erodiblity and critical shear stress are not suitable for the purple soil areas,Sichuan Province,China.Although the predicted results can be accepted by optimizing the runoff and erosion parameters,more research related to the determination of erodibility and critical sheer stress must be conducted to improve the application of WEPP in the purple soil areas.FU Bin WANG Yukuan XU Pei YAN Kun 2012Journal of Mountain Science2012,9,4:3
3Comparison and Effects of Different Climate-Vegetation Models in Areas of Complex Terrain under Climate Change显示文摘Identifying the impacts of climate change is important for conservation of ecosystems under climate change, particularly in mountain regions. Holdridge life zone system and K?ppen classification provide two effective methods to assess impacts of climate change on ecosystems, as typical climate-vegetation models. Meanwhile, these previous studies are insufficient to assess the complex terrain as well as there are some uncertainties in results while using the given methods. Analysis of the impacts of the prevailing climate conditions in an area on shifts of ecosystems may reduce uncertainties in projecting climate change. In this study, we used different models to depict changes in ecosystems at 1 km × 1 km resolution in Sichuan Province, China during 1961–2010. The results indicate that changes in climate data during the past 50 years were sufficient to cause shifts in the spatial distribution of ecosystems. The trend of shift was from low temperature ecosystems to high temperature ecosystems. Compared with K?ppen classification, the Holdridge system has better adaptation to assess the impacts of climate change on ecosystems in low elevation(0–1000 m). 6Experimental research on the influence of two cultivation practices on rainfall runoff-and (sandy and muddy) sediment-generating processes in purple soil environment显示文摘Rainfall simulations have been conducted to study the soil erosion process of purple soil in two cultiva-tion practices—contour cultivation and downslope cultivation. Results showed that under the two cultivation prac-tices,the surface runoff can be described by the logarithmic function formula. In the initial period of rainfall,the amount of runoff increased with the rainfall duration and 20 minutes later it became relatively constant. The chang-ing process of soil erosion rate may be described by the logarithmic function formula. The erosion rate increased with the rainfall duration and 20 minutes later it also became constant. Under downslope cultivation condition,the soil erosion rate increased more significantly than that under contour cultivation condition in the case of gentle rain-fall intensity,and there is no obvious difference in erosion rate for downslope cultivation and contour cultivation practices. However,with increasing rainfall intensity the soil erosion rate under the downslope cultivation condition could be more than 30 times that under the contour cultivation condition. 9SOIL CONSERVATION EFFICIENCY OF DIFFERENT MODELS CONVERTING FROM STEEP FARMING SLOPE PLOTS IN YA'AN, SICHUAN, CHINA显示文摘Converting farming slope land into artificial forestland or grassland is a major measure of soil/water conservation. Five conversion practices, namely, 1) a control plot still tilled with a crop (maize), 2) a folder grass-growing plot seeded with Lolium perenne, 3) a young alder tree-growing plot, 4) a pear orchard plot and 5)a bamboo plot intercropped with folder grass, were monitored to compare the soil conservation efficiency of those changes in Ya'an, Sichuan for 3 years between September 1998 and August 2001. Results showed that the 5 designed converting models functioned differently in erosion control. The most effective model was bamboo groves intercropped with folder grass (Lolium perenne). The folder grass (Lolium perenne) growing model was more effective than the pure pear orchard model. The least effective model was the young alder tree-growing slope, which was even less effective than the control (a slope without converted cultivation). 10Validation of three infiltration models on purple soil under simulated rainfall显示文摘So as to find models suitable for the prediction of water infiltration in purple soil,infiltration rates simulated by three popular empirical infiltration models,Horton model,Kostiakov model,and the modified Kostiakov model,were compared by using those observed results on slope in purple soil under rainfall simulation.28 sets of infiltration data were divided into two parts for parameter estimation and validation independently.The performance of the three infiltration models was evaluated with the Nash and Sutcliffe efficiency criterion.The results show that the percent for Nash and Sutcliffe efficiency greater than 0.7 is about 69.7% for the Horton model,and 48.48%,and 54.55% for the Kostiakov model and the modified Kostiakov model,respectively.Horton model is better than Kostiakov model and the modified Kostiakov model in most rain events in the field.However,Kostiakov model is still suitable for reasonable prediction of the infiltration in purple soil sloping farmland because fewer parameters are needed.Furthermore,rainfall intensity has significant effects on the parameter values used in the simulation models.The simulation results can be improved by choosing suitable parameters according to the rainfall intensity.Wang Yukuan Fu Bin Xu Pei Wang Daojie Wang Xiantuo Wang Yongqiang 2007Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2007,17,9:1

14Optimization of a Lobed Mixer with BP Neural Network and Genetic Algorithm显示文摘A Sequential Approximate Optimization framework(SAO)for the multi-objective optimization of lobed mixer is established by using the BP neural network and Genetic Algorithm:the ratio of lobe wavelength to height(η)and the rise angle(α)are selected as the design parameters,and the mixing efficiency,thrust and total pressure loss are the optimization objectives.The CFX commercial solver coupled with the SST turbulence model is employed to simulate the flow field of lobed mixer.A tetrahedral unstructured grid with 5.6 million cells can achieve the similar global results.Based on the response surface approximation model of the lobed mixer,it is necessary to avoid increasing or decreasingαandηat the same time.Instead,theαshould be reduced while theηis appropriately increased,which is conducive to achieving the goal of increasing thrust and reducing losses at the expense of a small decrease in the mixing efficiency.Compared with the normalized method,the non-normalized method with better global optimization accuracy is more suitable for solving the multi-objective optimization problem of the lobed mixer,and its optimal solution(α=8.54°,η=1.165)is the optimal solution of the lobed mixer optimization problem studied in this paper.Compared with the reference lobed mixer,theα,β(the fall angle)and H(lobe height)of the optimal solution are reduced by 0.14°,1.34°and 3.97 mm,respectively,and theηis increased by 0.074;its mixing efficiency is decreased by 4.46%,but the thrust is increased by 2.29%and the total pressure loss is decreased by 0.64%.Downstream of the optimized lobed mixer,the radial scale and peak vorticity of the streamwise voritices decrease with the decreasing lobe height,thereby reducing the mixing efficiency.For the optimized lobed mixer,its low mixing efficiency is the main factor for the decrease of the total pressure loss,but the improvement of the geometric curvature is also conducive to reducing its profile loss.Within the scope of this study,the lobed mixer has an optimal mixing efficiency(ε=74.14%)that maximizes its thrust without excessively increasing the mixing loss.SONG Yukuan LEI Zhijun LU Xin-Gen XU Gang ZHU Junqiang 2023Journal of Thermal Science2023,32,1:1
15Residual Convolutional Graph Neural Network with Subgraph Attention Pooling显示文摘The pooling operation is used in graph classification tasks to leverage hierarchical structures preserved in data and reduce computational complexity.However,pooling shrinkage discards graph details,and existing pooling methods may lead to the loss of key classification features.In this work,we propose a residual convolutional graph neural network to tackle the problem of key classification features losing.Particularly,our contributions are threefold:(1)Different from existing methods,we propose a new strategy to calculate sorting values and verify their importance for graph classification.Our strategy does not only use features of simple nodes but also their neighbors for the accurate evaluation of its importance.(2)We design a new graph convolutional layer architecture with the residual connection.By feeding discarded features back into the network architecture,we reduce the probability of losing critical features for graph classification.(3)We propose a new method for graph-level representation.The messages for each node are aggregated separately,and then different attention levels are assigned to each node and merged into a graph-level representation to retain structural and critical information for classification.Our experimental results show that our method leads to state-of-the-art results on multiple graph classification benchmarks.Yutai Duan Jianming Wang Haoran Ma Yukuan Sun 2022Tsinghua Science and Technology2022,27,4:1

20A method to determine the bonded-particle model parameters for simulation of ores显示文摘The bonded-particle model(BPM)is commonly used in the numerical analysis of ore samples.To improve the accuracy of simulating the mechanical process of ore process of ore crushing in a crusher,the parameters of the BPM for the ore must be calibrated.In this study,a calibration method was proposed for the scientific determination of the parameters of the BPM for ore undergoing uniaxial compression.First,physical tests and simulations were conducted to determine the mechanical response(uniaxial compressive strength and macroscopic stiffness)of ore during uniaxial compression.Then,the sensitivity of the mechanical response to the values of microscopic parameters was tested using a Plackett-Burman design.Next,the microscopic parameters with the greatest impact on the response were identified,and the range of parameters that met the target response was determined using a steepest ascent design;Second,a second-order model of the mechanical response was established using the sensitive parameters by combining a Box-Behnken design with response surface methodology to obtain the optimal BPM parameters.Simulation tests showed that the normal stiffness per unit area,critical shear stress,and bonded disk radius had significant effects on the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)and macroscopic stiffness(MS).To verify the validity of the proposed calibration method,laboratory tests were conducted.The consistency of the simulation results with experimental results indicated that response surface methodology with the Plackett-Burman design,steepest ascent design,and Box-Behnken design can be an effective method for calibrating the BPM of ores.Shuwei Wu Guoqiang Wang Longfei Fan Wei Guan Jianbo Guo Zhengbin Liu Yukuan Wang 2024Particuology2024,86,3:0
