1Toxicity of Graphene Quantum Dots in Zebrafish Embryo显示文摘Objective To evaluate the bio-safety of graphene quantum dots(GQDs), we studied its effects on the embryonic development of zebrafish. Methods In vivo, biodistribution and the developmental toxicity of GQDs were investigated in embryonic zebrafish at exposure concentrations ranging from 12.5-200 μg/m L for 4-96 h post-fertilization(hpf). The mortality, hatch rate, malformation, heart rate, GQDs uptake, spontaneous movement, and larval behavior were examined. Results The fluorescence of GQDs was mainly localized in the intestines and heart. As the exposure concentration increased, the hatch and heart rate decreased, accompanied by an increase in mortality. Exposure to a high level of GQDs(200 μg/mL) resulted in various embryonic malformations including pericardial edema, vitelline cyst, bent spine, and bent tail. The spontaneous movement significantly decreased after exposure to GQDs at concentrations of 50, 100, and 200 μg/mL. The larval behavior testing(visible light test) showed that the total swimming distance and speed decreased dose-dependently. Embryos exposed to 12.5 μg/mL showed hyperactivity while exposure to higher concentrations(25, 50, 100, and 200 μg/mL) caused remarkable hypoactivity in the light-dark test. Conclusion Low concentrations of GQDs were relatively non-toxic. 2N_2O emissions from agricultural soils in the North China Plain: the effect of chemical nitrogen fertilizer and organic manure显示文摘An enclosed chamber technique was used to measure N 2O emissions from intensively agricultural soils of the North China Plain during the periods of 1995—1996 and 1997—1998, to reflect distinct components of winter wheat and summer maize growing seasons. The results showed that the continuous application of fertilizer in agricultural soils increased N\-2O emissions by a factor of 24.1—28.1, the calculated annual chemical N fertilizer\|transformed N\-2O\|N emissions was 0.67%. Our results indicated that the application of organic manure also had a significant influence on soil N 2O emissions, which combined with the use of chemical N increased about 20% in a year. It was calculated that there were about 0.11% N of organic manure transformed as N 2O N. Annual mean N 2O emission from our study area of fertilized soils was estimated to be 57.1 μgN 2O/(m 2·h). 3Changes in the sediment load of the Lancang-Mekong River over the period 1965-2003显示文摘Changes in the sediment load of a river can have important impacts on river channel evolution,nutrient fluxes,aquatic ecology and delta erosion and sedimentation,and the possibility of changes in the sediment load of the Lancang-Mekong River has attracted increasing concern in recent years.Existing studies present conflicting findings regarding the nature and magnitude of recent changes in the sediment load of the Lancang-Meking River and the authors have attempted to assemble the most reliable data on annual sediment loads for the period 1965-2003,to assess recent trends in the sediment load of the river.The changes in annual sediment load at 7 stations on the river are analyzed.Important sediment contributing areas are found in the reaches between Gajiu and Yunjinghong,Chiang Saen and Luang Prabang and downstream of Nong Khai.The sediment load increased at Gajiu,Yunjinghong and Chiang Saen over the period 1985-1992 because of serious soil erosion caused by the expansion of cultivation,the replacement of natural forest by plantations and land disturbance associated with hydropower dam construction.A marked reduction in sediment load occurred at Gajiu after the impoundment of the Manwan Hydropower dam on the Lancang River,but this reduction was not evident downstream at Yunjinghong and the stations further downstream.Significant increases in sediment load appeared at Mukdahan and Khong Chiam.These contrasting patterns of change reflect the influence of sediment contributions from the intervening catchment areas and channel systems as well as storage and remobilization of sediment from the channel system and the impact of hydraulic works such as irrigation systems.The long term mean annual sediment load of the Mekong River at its mouth is estimated to be ca.145×106ta-1,which is lower than previously reported values and it seems likely that this will be reduced in the foreseeable future.LIU Cheng HE Yun WALLING Des E WANG JianJun 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,4:6
4OsbZIP76 interacts with OsNF-YBs and regulates endosperm cellularization in rice (Oryza sativa)显示文摘Following double fertilization,plant endosperm nuclei undergo syncytial divisions,followed by synchro-nous cellularization.Cellularization is a key event during endosperm development,but our understanding of its regulation is limited to Arabidopsis.In this study we show that OsbZIP76 regulates cellularization in rice(Oryza sativa).Activation of OsbZIP76 coincided with the initiation of cellularization,and its knockdown or knockout mutants exhibited precocious cellularization.Genes involved in en-dosperm development or starch biosynthesis were pre-maturely activated in the osbzip76 caryopsis.As a putative transcription factor,OsbZIP76 alone lacked transcriptional activation activity;however,it interacted with the nuclear factor Y(NF-Y)family transcription factors OsNF-YB9 and OsNF-YB1 in yeast and in planta.OsbZIP76 and OsNF-YB9 were predominantly expressed in the endosperm and the proteins colocalized.Seeds of osnf-yb1 and osbzip76 mu-tants showed reduced size and reduced apparent amylose content.The parent-of-origin-dependent expression of OsbZIP76 is variable in different rice accessions.In sum-mary,OsbZIP76 is an endosperm-expressed imprinted gene that regulates endosperm development in rice.Baixiao Niu Hui Deng Tingting Li Sandeep Sharma Qianbin Yun Qianru Li Zhiguo E Chen Chen 2020Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,12:4

6Groundwater Systems and Eco-hydrological Features in the Main Karst Regions of China显示文摘Different karst water features and related water resources are present both in southern and northern China.There are over 3,358 well-developed karst ground river systems with total discharges in the dry season of about 420×108 m3 in the main karst regions in the southern part of China.Exploitation rates are only 8-15%.Over 100 larger karst spring systems in the main karst regions of northern China cover a catchment area from 500 km2 to over 4,000 km2,of which the average discharge appears to be from about 1 m3/s to 13 m3/s and the exploitation rates are 70-80%.Six aspects of the eco-hydrological features of some typical karst regions in China comprising water environment,ecological features,materials and structures between parent rock and soil,bio-geological processes and palynological studies(spore-pollen)are discussed.Qualitative evaluation of eco-geology and rocky desertification in the karst regions should be based on the main karst ecological conditions as well as artificial,i.e.,man-made impacts.LU Yaoru ZHANG Feng'e LIU Changli TONG Guobang ZHANG Yun 2006Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2006,80,5:3

8Chemiluminescence Determination of Tetracycline and Oxytetracycline in Pharmaceutical Preparations Using Ru(bipy)_3^(2+)-Cerium(Ⅳ) System显示文摘A new chemiluminescence (CL) method for the determination of tetracycline and oxytetracycline is developed, hased on the CL reaction of tetracycline and oxytetracycline with Ru(bipy)32+ and Ce(IV). In sulfuric acid medium, the CL emission is generated upon continuous oxidation of Ru(bipy)32+ by cerium (IV ). The emission intensity is greatly enhanced when tetracycline and oxytetracycline are introduced into the reaction system after acid degradation. Under the optimum conditions, the calibration curves are linear over the range of 8. 0 X 10-8-4. 0 X 10-6 mol/L for tetracycline and of 2. 0 X 10-74. 0 X 10-5 mol/L for oxytetracycline, with the detection limits are 4. 2 X 10-8 mol/L for tetracycline and 1. 5 X 10-7 mol/L for oxytetracycline, respectively. 9Supply-Demand Analysis of Urban Emergency Shelters Based on Spatiotemporal Population Estimation显示文摘Supply–demand analysis is an important part of the planning of urban emergency shelters.Using Pudong New Area,Shanghai,China as an example,this study estimated daytime and nighttime population of the study area based on fine-scale land use data,census data,statistical yearbook information,and Tencent user-density big data.An exponential function-based,probability density estimation method was used to analyze the spatial supply of and demand for shelters under an earthquake scenario.The results show that even if all potential available shelters are considered,they still cannot satisfy the demand of the existing population for evacuation and sheltering,especially in the northern region of Pudong,under both the daytime and the nighttime scenarios.The proposed method can reveal the spatiotemporal imbalance between shelter supply and demand.We also conducted a preliminary location selection analysis of shelters based on the supply–demand analysis results.The location selection results demonstrate the advantage of the proposed method.It can be applied to identify the areas where the supply of shelters is seriously inadequate,and provide effective decision support for the planning of urban emergency shelters.Xiaodong Zhang Jia Yu Yun Chen Jiahong Wen Jiayan Chen Zhan'e Yin 2020International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2020,11,4:2
