| 1 | Diagnostic Study on the Structural Characteristics of a Typical Mei-yu Front System and Its Maintenance Mechanism显示文摘In this paper, a typical mei-yu front process with heavy rainfall from June 12 to 15 in 1998 is analyzed. The results show that the mei-yu front is a front system which consists of an iso-θe dense area with strong horizontal gradient, a deep-convective cloud tower band, a passageway transporting warm and moist air ?ow from the summer monsoon surge in the mid and low levels to the south of the mei-yu front, and a migrating synoptic scale trough to the north of the mei-yu front, which transports cold and dry air southward in the mid and upper levels. | 2 | Reactive adsorption of thiophene on Ni/ZnO adsorbent:Effect of ZnO textural structure on the desulfurization activity显示文摘To better understand the nature of reactive adsorption of thiophene on Ni/ZnO adsorbent,the effect of ZnO textural structure on the desulfurization activity was investigated.ZnO materials were synthesized by low-temperature solid-state reaction and the corresponding Ni/ZnO adsorbents were prepared by incipient impregnation method.The analysis results showed that the crystalline sizes of ZnO as-synthesized as well as the BET surface areas varied obviously with the calcination temperature.The activity evaluations indicated that the Ni/ZnO adsorbents prepared with ZnO possessed a favorable textural structure as active component exhibited good activity of removing thiophene.The evolutions of the main crystalline phases of Ni/ZnO adsorbents before and after reaction confirmed that ZnO played a crucial role in taking up S element and converting it into ZnS in the reactive adsorption process.It was concluded that ZnO with larger surface area and smaller crystal particles resulted in better desulfurization activity,which may be the main reason for the different activities of the Ni/ZnO adsorbents prepared with ZnO calcined at different temperatures. | Jingcheng Zhang Yunqi Liu Shuang Tian Yongming Chai Chenguang Liu | 2010 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2010,19,3: | 13 |

| 4 | Identification of the deposited layers in landslides reservoir and investigation of the sediment yields during the later sixteenth century on the Hill Loess Plateau,China显示文摘There are many sediment trapping reservoirs in the Hill Loess Plateau.The Huangtuwa small catchment is selected as a research field where samples were collected in a sediment deposit profile with a vertical length of 12.73 m.By the variation of fine particle content and pollen concentration,54 flood couples were identified.Taking the freeze-thawing disturbed texture as the sign of the latest flood couple in a year,it is ascertained that those 54 floods should happen in 31 years.Using pyramid volume calculation formula,the sediment yields of flood ranged between 716―30376 t·km-2.The average sediment yield was 7106 t·km-2.The annual sediment yields varied between 968―55579 t·(km2·a) -1,and the average value is 12629 t·(km2·a) -1.Compared with the modern annual sediment discharge of the Huaining River,the erosion rate in the Huangtuwa region 450 years ago was similar to the modern erosion rate.In the period from the 27th year to the 31st year,the average annual sediment yield increased sharply to 31309 t·(km2·a) -1.It implied that re-reclamation of the abandoned land in the catchment since the landslide disaster,where vegetation had rehabilitated already,caused very severe soil erosion in the catchment. | LONG Yi ZHANG XinBao LI Min LI Mian ZHANG YunQi | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,24: | 9 |

The monolayer films are generally prepared by thermal evaporation, the Langmuir technique or self-assembly process, etc., but their electrical performance is relatively lower than corresponding thick films. From 2011, the performance of monolayer OFETs has been boosted by using the monolayer molecular crystals(MMCs) as active channels, which opened up a new era for monolayer OFETs. | 8 | Effect of preparation method on the bimetallic NiCu/SAPO-11 catalysts for the hydroisomerization of n-octane显示文摘The bimetallic NiCu/SAPO-11 catalysts were prepared by co-impregnation, sequential impregnation, coprecipitation, and mechanical mixing methods. Powder X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption-desorption,temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia, transmission electron microscopy, temperatureprogrammed reduction of hydrogen, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to characterize the physicochemical properties of the catalysts. The catalytic performance of the catalysts was assessed by the hydroisomerization of n-octane. Results indicated that the conversion of n-octane and selectivity to n-octane isomers were related to the preparation methods of the catalysts. The catalysts with Ni-Cu alloy effectively restrained the hydrogenolysis reaction that decreases the selectivity of isomerization. The catalyst prepared by the mechanical mixing of NiO and CuO hardly formed Ni-Cu alloy, showing obvious hydrogenolysis and low selectivity to n-octane isomers. The unbalance between the metal and acid sites resulted in the low conversion of n-octane and selectivity to n-octane isomers. | 9 | One-step synthesis of Fe-Ni hydroxide nanosheets derived from bimetallic foam for efficient electrocatalytic oxygen evolution and overall water splitting显示文摘The research of superior water oxidation electrodes is essential for the green energy in the form of hydrogen by way of electrolytic water splitting, and still remains challenging. Based upon dealloying foam, Fe-Ni hydroxide nanosheets network structure is designed on the surface of Fe-Ni alloy foam. The ratio of Ni/Fe elements was adjusted to realize the optimal catalytic activities for oxygen evolution reaction(OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER). | 11 | Stable isotope fractionation of chlorine during evaporation of brine from a saline lake显示文摘Brine from the saline Qarhan Lake was evaporated at 28±2°C in a clean environment.Two groups of experiments were conducted;one with complete separation of precipitate and brine at different stages of evaporation,and the other with continuous precipitation during the evaporation.Seventy-nine precipitate and brine samples were collected during the experiments,and the δ37 Cl values were determined using an improved thermal ionization mass spectrometry procedure for precise measurement of chlorine isotopes based on Cs2Cl+ ions.Based on the concentrations of Na+,K+,and Mg2+,evaporation was divided into three main precipitation stages as follows:halite dominant,carnallite dominant,and bischofite dominant.The δ37 Clsolid and δ37 Clliquid values of the precipitate and coexisting brine samples at different stages showed the following characteristics.The precipitates were enriched with 37 Cl relative to the coexisting brine samples,and the δ37 Cl of both the precipitate and brine samples decreased gradually during evaporation.The fractionation factors(αh) between halite and brine were the highest,followed by that(αc) between carnallite and brine,and then that(αb) between bischofite and brine.The αc and αb values of less than one,which indicate the precipitate is enriched in 35 Cl,were found when the evaporation process entered a new stage.However,the δ37 Cl values of carnallite,bischofite,and the coexisting brine samples decreased during evaporation.The residual brine is a 35 Cl reservoir.The experimental phenomena were consistent with the δ37 Cl values in saline deposits in the literature.δ37 Cl can be used as an indicator of brine evaporation processes,which is important in the exploration of sylvinite deposits. | LUO ChongGuang XIAO YingKai MA HaiZhou MA YunQi ZHANG YanLing HE MaoYong | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,15: | 6 |

| 14 | Adaptive optical focusing through perturbed scattering media with a dynamic mutation algorithm显示文摘Optical imaging through or inside scattering media, such as multimode fiber and biological tissues, has a significant impact in biomedicine yet is considered challenging due to the strong scattering nature of light. In the past decade, promising progress has been made in the field, largely benefiting from the invention of iterative optical wavefront shaping, with which deep-tissue high-resolution optical focusing and hence imaging becomes possible. Most of the reported iterative algorithms can overcome small perturbations on the noise level but fail to effectively adapt beyond the noise level, e.g., sudden strong perturbations. Reoptimizations are usually needed for significant decorrelation to the medium since these algorithms heavily rely on the optimization performance in the previous iterations. Such ineffectiveness is probably due to the absence of a metric that can gauge the deviation of the instant wavefront from the optimum compensation based on the concurrently measured optical focusing.In this study, a square rule of binary-amplitude modulation, directly relating the measured focusing performance with the error in the optimized wavefront, is theoretically proved and experimentally validated. With this simple rule, it is feasible to quantify how many pixels on the spatial light modulator incorrectly modulate the wavefront for the instant status of the medium or the whole system. As an example of application, we propose a novel algorithm, the dynamic mutation algorithm, which has high adaptability against perturbations by probing how far the optimization has gone toward the theoretically optimal performance. The diminished focus of scattered light can be effectively recovered when perturbations to the medium cause a significant drop in the focusing performance, which no existing algorithms can achieve due to their inherent strong dependence on previous optimizations. | 16 | Extraction of rare earth ions from phosphate leach solution using emulsion liquid membrane in concentrated nitric acid medium显示文摘It is very significant to recover rare earths(REs) from wet-process phosphoric acid, in terms of extraction rate and selectivity, the current carrier di(2-ethlhexly) phosphate(D2EHPA) out there is still inferior.Based on this question, our team modified D2EHPA to synthesize new extractants. This paper presents a comprehensive study on the extraction of rare earth ions(RE^(3+)) from phosphate leach solution using emulsion liquid membrane(ELM) in concentrated nitric acid medium. The ELM system is made up of(RO)_2P(O)OPh-COOH as carrier, polyisocrotyl succinimide(T154) as surfactant, sulfonated kerosene as diluent, phosphoric acid(H_3PO_4) as stripping solution. Different chemical parameters such as type and concentration of carrier, surfactant, stripping solution, volume ratio of oil phase to internal phase, and volume ratio of emulsion ratio to external phase were analyzed. The extraction of RE^(3+) was evaluated by the yield of extraction. In addition, the demulsification process was also investigated. | 17 | Structure,rheology and electrospinning of zein and poly(ethylene oxide) in aqueous ethanol solutions显示文摘Electrospun fiber mats (EFM) integrated proteins and biocompatible polymers have been widely used as tissue scaffold, wound dressing and food packaging. The morphology of EFM has strong correlation with the structure and rheology of the solutions. We studied the structure and rheology of polyethylene oxide (PEO) and zein in 80% ethanol aqueous solutions and the resulted EFM. In solutions, zein with rod-like conformation tends to aggregate and form oligomer, the number of proteins in the oligomer spans from 2.5 to 55.2, while PEO always behaves like Gaussian chain in good solvent. Zein preferred to distribute along PEO chains in their mixed solutions, and the structures decomposed from small angle X-ray scattering have consistent relaxation spatial-temporal characteristics with rheological behaviors.Further, the aging of zein solutions enhanced shear thinning and resulted thicker fibers in EFM, which are attributed to the rod-like growth of zein aggregates. Aggregates in viscous media with long enough relaxation time are probably crucial for the formation of continuous electrospun fibers or ribbons. | 20 | Preparation of Two-dimensional Ti_2CT_x by Molten Fluorinated Salt Method显示文摘We prepared a two-dimensional transition metal carbide Ti_2CT_x by treatment of Ti_2 AlC in molten fluoride salt. Two fluorinated salt systems were used to etch Al from Ti_2 AlC powder precursor under the argon atmosphere, and then the resulting MXene was delaminated with TBAOH to produce few-layered nanosheets of Ti_2CT_x. The reaction was undergone at different temperatures to study the effect of temperature.The results show that the optimal reaction temperature is 600 ℃ in LiF-NaF-KF system, and 850 ℃ in NaFKF system. The molten salt treated products are delaminated and quasi-2 D MXene sheets can be obtained.
