OsCIPK7 point-mutation leads to conformation and kinase-activity change for sensing cold response显示文摘Calcineurin B-like interacting protein kinases(CIPKs) play important roles via environmental stress. However, less is known how to sense the stress in molecular structure conformation level. Here, an Os CIPK7 mutant via TILLING procedure with a point mutation in the kinase domain showed increased chilling tolerance, which could be potentially used in the molecular breeding. We found that this point mutation of Os CIPK7 led to a conformationalchange in the activation loop of the kinase domain, subsequently with an increase of protein kinase activity, thus conferred an increased tolerance to chilling stress. | Dajian Zhang Xiaoyu Guo Yunyuan Xu Hao Li Liang Ma Xuefeng Yao Yuxiang Weng Yan Guo Chun-Ming Liu Kang Chong | 2019 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2019,61,12: | 8
Study on variational aerosol fields over Beijing and its adjoining areas derived from Terra-MODIS and ground sunphotometer observation显示文摘This paper presents a comprehensive observa-tion technique on derived aerosols data from mobile sun-photometer graph and Terra-Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) observation. Research results suggest that after being treated by the variational technique with respect to sunphotometer observations, the Terra- MODIS remote sensing aerosol data are remarkably im-proved, thus for the first time revealing features of the influ-ence of aerosols and pollution emissions of Beijing and its adjoining areas (Hebei, Shandong, etc. provinces). The re-gional impact features of aerosols are related with the pe-ripheral U-shape topography of Beijing. Analyses with Hy-brid Single Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory model (HYSPLIT-4) and meteorological data in the case studied confirm the pollutants diffusion process along the trajectory from the sources in the south-west region, and the regional aerosol impact features. | XU Xiangde ZHOU Xiuji WENG Yonghui TIAN Guoliang LIU Yujie YAN Peng DING Guoan ZHANG Yuxiang MAO Jietai QIU Hong | 2003 | Chinese Science Bulletin2003,48,18: | 7
Interference pattern generation and simulation in the single beam of a white light continuum显示文摘We demonstrate the interference phenomenon in the White Light Continuum(WLC) generated by a single femtosecond laser beam. Different kinds of spatial interference patterns of the WLC generation under various conditions were investigated. The spatial patterns were attributed to interference between the filaments in the WLC generated by the fundamental laser beam yielding the diffraction effect from spatial confinement. Simulations of different patterns were performed. By comparing the results of simulation with those of experiments, the distances of several micrometers between the neighboring filaments can be derived, which agree with the literature values from direct measurements. | YU ZhiHao & WENG YuXiang Laboratory of Soft Matter Physics,Institute of Physics,Chinese Academy of Sciences, and National Laboratory of Condensed Matter Physics,Beijing 100190,China | 2010 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,6: | 2

An isolation strategy to anchor atomic Ni or Co cocatalysts on TiO_(2)(A)for photocatalytic hydrogen production显示文摘TiO_(2) has been considered as an ideal photocatalyst for water splitting. However, narrow light absorbance, low charge separation efficiency, and rare surface active sites lead to the low photocatalytic efficiency of TiO_(2).Although extensive research attempted to improve the situation, there is still lack of method for constructing high active and noble-metal-free TiO_(2) photocatalyst for H_(2) evolution reactions(HER).In this work,we loaded single atomic(SA)Ni(or Co)on the surface of anatase TiO_(2)(TiO_(2)(A))nanosheets by an isolation strategy.Ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid and ethylene glycol(EDTA-EG)compounds were used to chelate metal ions in solution and form carbon quantum dots in the following thermal treatment to isolate the metal ions on surface of TiO_(2)(A).The prepared Ni SA/TiO_(2)(A)catalyst owned a“skin wrapped body”structure with in-situ formed twodimensional(2D)heterojunction facilitating the fast electron transfer. As a result, the Ni SA/TiO_(2)(A)catalyst showed a high H_(2) evolution rate of 2,900μmol·g−1·h−1.This work provides an isolation strategy for constructing promising single-atom metal catalyst for photocatalysis and beyond. | Shangchun Lv Mengxi Pei Yuxiang Liu Zhichun Si Xiaodong Wu Rui Ran Duan Weng Feiyu Kang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,7: | 0
Femtosecond time-resolved difference absorption spectroscopy of all-trans-β-Apo-8′-carotenal显示文摘The femtosecond time-resolved difference absorption spectra of all-trans-b- Apo-8′-carotenal have been recorded and analyzed by the singular-value decomposition (SVD) method followed by global fitting using a sequential model for the excited-state energy relaxation. With this model, we have obtained the excited-state absorption spectra and the lifetimes of the corresponding excited states both in nonpolar solvent n-hexane and polar solvent methanol. Three excited states, namely S3(170fs), S2(2.32ps) and S1(26ps) in n-hexane, and two excited states S2 (190fs) and S1(9.4ps) in methanol have been observed. The excited-state absorption spectra of all-trans-b-Apo-8′-carotenal in methanol display a red shift and broadeness, while the lifetime of S1 state becomes shorter. It is proposed that these effects are related to the presence of a carbonyl functional group that leads to the solvent effect on the excited-state energy level. At the same time, it is shown that the SVD method is a useful tool in resolving the time-resolved absorption spectra. | ZHANG Lei QUAN Donghui WANG Li YANG Guozhen WENG Yuxiang | 2004 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2004,47,2: | 0
Researchers Discover Quantum Switch for Regulating Photosynthesis显示文摘Photosynthesis is a crucial process that allows plants to convert carbon dioxide into organic compounds using solar energy.Light-harvesting complex II(LHCII)is a complex of pigment molecules bound to proteins. It switches between two main functions-dissipating harmful excess light energy as heat under high light intensity through nonphotochemical quenching, and transferring absorbed light to the reaction center with almost a unit efficiency under low light. | WENG Yuxiang | 2023 | Bulletin of the Chinese Academy of Sciences2023,37,3: | 0
Dynamical and allosteric regulation of photoprotection in light harvesting complex Ⅱ显示文摘Major light-harvesting complex of photosystemⅡ(LHCⅡ)plays a dual role in light-harvesting and excited energy dissipation to protect photodamage from excess energy. The regulatory switch is induced by increased acidity, temperature or both. However, the molecular origin of the protein dynamics at the atomic level is still unknown. We carried out temperature-jump time-resolved infrared spectroscopy and molecular dynamics simulations to determine the energy quenching dynamics and conformational changes of LHCⅡtrimers. We found that the spontaneous formation of a pair of localα-helices from the 310-helix E/loop and the C-terminal coil of the neighboring monomer,in response to the increased environmental temperature and/or acidity, induces a scissoring motion of transmembrane helices A and B,shifting the conformational equilibrium to a more open state, with an increased angle between the associated carotenoids. The dynamical and allosteric conformation change leads to close contacts between carotenoid lutein 1 and chlorophyll pigment 612,facilitating the fluorescence quenching.Based on these results,we suggest a unified mechanism by which the LHCⅡtrimer controls the dissipation of excess excited energy in response to increased temperature and acidity,as an intrinsic result of intense sun light in plant photosynthesis. | Hao Li Yingjie Wang Manping Ye Shanshan Li Deyong Li Haisheng Ren Mohan Wang Luchao Du Heng Li Gianluigi Veglia Jiali Gao Yuxiang Weng | 2020 | Science China Chemistry2020,63,8: | 0
