1Effect of Nano Clay on Corrosion Protection of Zinc-rich Epoxy Coatings on Steel 37显示文摘Epoxy zinc rich coatings containing clay nanoparticles were prepared and the effect of clay content on the cathodic protection performance of the coatings was evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and immersion test. Open circuit potential(OCP) measurements and immersion tests were also carried out to better understand the behavior of zinc rich coating. EIS and OCP measurements showed that addition of 1 wt% clay improved the cathodic protection duration and sacrificial properties of the epoxy zinc rich coating. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) photographs confirmed that clay nanoparticles were successfully dispersed in the coating matrix loaded with 1 wt% clay. 2Serum γ-glutamyltransferase,alanine aminotransferase,and aspartate aminotransferase activity in Iranian healthy blood donor men显示文摘AIM: To determine serum γ-glutamyltransferase (GGT), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) activity, and to assess their correlation with demographic and clinical findings in healthy blood donors. METHODS: This cross-sectional study was performed in 934 male blood donors, aged 18 to 68 years, who consecutively attended Tehran blood transfusion service in 2006. All participants were seronegative for HBV or HCV infections, non alcohol users, and all underwent a standard interview and anthropometric tests. Clinical and biochemical parameters including AST, ALT, and GGT activities were determined. Patients taking drugs known to cause hepatic fat deposition were excluded. For AST, ALT, and GGT variables, we used 33.33 and 66.66 percentiles, so that each of them was divided into three tertiles. RESULTS: Mean AST, ALT, and GGT activities were 25.26 ± 12.58 U/L (normal range 5-35 U/L), 33.13 ± 22.98 (normal range 5-35 U/L), and 25.11 ± 18.32 (normal range 6-37 U/L), respectively. By univariate analyses, there were significant associations between increasing AST, ALT, or GGT tertiles and age, body weight, body mass index, and waist and hip circumferences (P < 0.05). By multiple linear regression analyses, ALT was found to be positively correlated with dyslipidemia (B = 6.988, P = 0.038), whereas ALT and AST were negatively correlated with age. 3BENDING BEHAVIOR OF EMPTY AND FOAM-FILLED ALUMINUM TUBES WITH DIFFERENT CROSS-SECTIONS显示文摘In this paper, the energy absorption mechanism of empty and foam-filled aluminum tubes with different cross-sections (circular, square and elliptic) under bending load is investigated numerically. The load-displacement curves of the present simulations are in very good agreement with those of published experimental data. Here, the existing analytical formulations are reviewed and compared with experimental results. In addition, the effects of different cross-sections and wall thicknesses on the energy absorption capacity and specific energy absorption of these tubes are fully investigated. The results indicate that the energy absorption of an elliptic foam-filled tube with 1.5 mm and 2 mm thicknesses increases about 45% and 73% in comparison with a square one, respectively.M. H. 6Microstructural Evaluation of 410 SS/Cu Diffusion-Bonded Joint显示文摘In the present study, a grade of stainless steel (SS, 410) and copper plates were joined through diffusion bonding by using a nickel interlayer at temperature range of 800-950℃. These were performed through pressing the specimens under a pressure of 12 MPa for 60 min under 1.33×10 -2 Pa (10-4 torr) vacuum. The microstructure and phase constitution near the diffusion bonding interface of Cu/Ni and Ni/SS were studied by optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and an elemental analyses through energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS). The results indicated that an obvious diffusion zone was formed near both Cu/Ni and Ni/SS interfaces during the vacuum diffusion bonding. The thickness of reaction layer in both interfaces was increased with increasing process temperature. The diffusion transition region near the Cu/Ni and Ni/SS interfaces consist of complete solid solution zone and various phases based on (Fe, Ni), (Fe, Cr, Ni) and (Fe, Cr), respectively. From EDS results, three different mixtures of phases were distinguished in SS-Ni interface. The activation energy and rate constant were determined for the growth of these reaction layers and the values become maximum for the {γFe, Ni+αFe+Cr} phase mixture.H. Sabetghadam A. Zarei Hanzaki A. 7Vitamin D receptor expression in human bone tissue and dose-dependent activation in resorbing osteoclasts显示文摘The effects of vitamin D on osteoblast mineralization are well documented. Reports of the effects of vitamin D on osteoclasts, however, are conflicting, showing both inhibition and stimulation. Finding that resorbing osteoclasts in human bone express vitamin D receptor(VDR), we examined their response to different concentrations of 25-hydroxy vitamin D_3[25(OH)D_3](100 or 500 nmol·L^(-1)) and 1,25-dihydroxy vitamin D_3[1,25(OH)_2D_3](0.1 or 0.5 nmol·L^(-1)) metabolites in cell cultures. Specifically, CD14+ monocytes were cultured in charcoal-stripped serum in the presence of receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand(RANKL) and macrophage colony-stimulating factor(M-CSF). Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase(TRAP)histochemical staining assays and dentine resorption analysis were used to identify the size and number of osteoclast cells, number of nuclei per cell and resorption activity. The expression of VDR was detected in human bone tissue(ex vivo) by immunohistochemistry and in vitro cell cultures by western blotting.Quantitative reverse transcription-PCR(q RT-PCR) was used to determine the level of expression of vitamin D-related genes in response to vitamin D metabolites. VDR-related genes during osteoclastogenesis, shown by q RT-PCR, was stimulated in response to 500 nmol·L^(-1)of 25(OH)D_3and 0.1–0.5 nmol·L^(-1)of 1,25(OH)_2D_3,upregulating cytochrome P450 family 27 subfamily B member 1(CYP27B1) and cytochrome P450 family 24 subfamily A member 1(CYP24A1). Osteoclast fusion transcripts transmembrane 7 subfamily member 4(tm7sf4) and nuclear factor of activated T-cell cytoplasmic 1(nfatc1) where downregulated in response to vitamin D metabolites. Osteoclast number and resorption activity were also increased. Both 25(OH)D_3and1,25(OH)_2D_3reduced osteoclast size and number when co-treated with RANKL and M-CSF. The evidence for VDR expression in resorbing osteoclasts in vivo and low-dose effects of 1,25(OH)_2D_3on osteoclasts in vitro may therefore provide insight into the effects of clinical vitamin D treatments, further providing a counterpoint to the high-dose effects reported from in vitro experiments.Allahdad Zarei Alireza Morovat Kassim Javaid Cameron P Brown 2016Bone Research2016,4,3:5

10Antioxidant effects of aqueous extract of Salep on Paraquat-induced rat liver injury显示文摘AIM To evaluate the effects of aqueous extract of Salep on Paraquat-mediated liver injury.METHODS In this experimental study, 56 adult male Wistar rats were divided randomly to 7 groups as control, sham, and 5 experimental groups. In control group, rats did not receive any substance during experiment. In Sham group, rats were given distilled water according to their body weight and in experimental groups, Paraquat alone and with different doses of Salep aqueous extract(40, 80, 160 and 320 mg/kg) was given intraperitoneal daily for 14 d. After that, liver biochemical parameter and histologic changes were analyzed and compared in different groups. RESULTS Paraquat compared to control and sham groups, significantly(P < 0.05) increased serum level of alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alkaline phosphatase(ALP), bilirubin, malondialdehyde(MDA) and total oxidant capacity(TOC); while level of total protein, albumin and total antioxidant capacity(TAC) were remarkably decreased by Paraquat. Salep at doses of 80, 160 and 320 mg/kg significantly decreased serum level of ALT, AST, ALP, bilirubin, MDA and TOC and significantly increased total protein, albumin and TAC level as compared to Paraquat exposed group in dose dependent manner. Aqueous extract of Salep at doses of 40 mg/kg made no significant changes in serum level of mentioned biochemical parameters. Liver microscopic observation revealed that Paraquat could cause hepatocyte necrosis, degenerative changes, proliferation and activation of Kupffer cells(sporadically) which were reduced by Salep treatment. 11Investigation of production depletion rate effect on the ne ar-wellbore stresses in the two Iranian southwest oilfields|显示文摘Effect of depletion rate on wellbore stability due to production of oil from hydrocarbon-bearing reser-voirs is important and can result in a reduction of the reservoir pore pressure.A reduction in the reservoir pressure,in tum,results in a change in the stresses acting within the reservoir.If these changes are not well analyzed and applied in future calculations,we may be unsuccessful in some cases such as drilling infill wells or extended wells,forecast of sand production and optimum flow rate,preventing of casing collapse,etc.Therefore,knowing the stresses around the well at every stage of production is fundamental to the next calculations.In this paper,we recognized these changes in near-wellbore stresses using data from logging(image log,dipole sonic,full set log,mud log),production data,infor-mation from kick,blow out,loss etc.and determined it using Techlog software and theoretical calcu-lations.Three wells of two huge oilfields of sw Iran were investigated after depletion or production for long years.In each well,state of stresses were calculated in cases of safe drilling mud weight using log data and theoretical equations.At the end effect of depletion rate on wellbore stability was investigated in these three wells.Khalil Shahbazi Amir Hossein Zarei Alireza Shahbazi Abbas Ayatizadeh Tanha 2020Petroleum Research2020,5,4:2
