Heterogeneous parallel computing accelerated iterative subpixel digital image correlation显示文摘Parallel computing techniques have been introduced into digital image correlation(DIC) in recent years and leads to a surge in computation speed. The graphics processing unit(GPU)-based parallel computing demonstrated a surprising effect on accelerating the iterative subpixel DIC, compared with CPU-based parallel computing. In this paper, the performances of the two kinds of parallel computing techniques are compared for the previously proposed path-independent DIC method, in which the initial guess for the inverse compositional Gauss-Newton(IC-GN) algorithm at each point of interest(POI) is estimated through the fast Fourier transform-based cross-correlation(FFT-CC) algorithm. Based on the performance evaluation, a heterogeneous parallel computing(HPC) model is proposed with hybrid mode of parallelisms in order to combine the computing power of GPU and multicore CPU. A scheme of trial computation test is developed to optimize the configuration of the HPC model on a specific computer. The proposed HPC model shows excellent performance on a middle-end desktop computer for real-time subpixel DIC with high resolution of more than 10000 POIs per frame. | HUANG JianWen ZHANG LingQi JIANG ZhenYu DONG ShouBin CHEN Wei LIU YiPing LIU ZeJia ZHOU LiCheng TANG LiQun | 2018 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2018,61,1: | 9
Features of long-term health monitored strains of a bridge with wavelet analysis显示文摘This paper analyses the five years' monitored strains collected from a long-term health monitoring system installed on a bridge with wavelet transform. In the analysis, the monitored strains are pre-processed,features of the monitored data are summarized briefly. The influences of the base functions on the results of wavelet analysis are studied simultaneously. The results show that the db wavelet is a good mother wavelet function in the analysis, and the order N should be larger than 20,but less than 46 in decomposing the monitored strains of the bridge.According to the strain variation features of concrete bridge, the proper decomposition level is 4 in the wavelet multi-resolution analysis. With the present method, the strains caused by random loads and daily sunlight can be accurately extracted from the monitored strains. The decomposed components of the monitored strains show that the amplitudes of the strains caused by random loads, daily sunlight, and annual temperature effect, are about 5 με,25 με,and 50 με respectively. The structural response under random load is smaller than the other parts. | Zejia Liu,Bin Jiang,Liqun Tang,Yiping Liu,Chunyu Zhang, and Yinghua Li School of Civil Engineering and Transportation,State Key Laboratory of Subtropical Building Science,South China University of Technology,Guangzhou 510640,China | 2011 | Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2011,1,5: | 3
Performance of global look-up table strategy in digital image correlation with cubic B-spline interpolation and bicubic interpolation显示文摘Global look-up table strategy proposed recently has been proven to be an efficient method to accelerate the interpolation, which is the most time-consuming part in the iterative sub-pixel digital image correlation(DIC) algorithms. In this paper, a global look-up table strategy with cubic B-spline interpolation is developed for the DIC method based on the inverse compositional Gauss–Newton(IC-GN) algorithm. The performance of this strategy, including accuracy, precision, and computation efficiency, is evaluated through a theoretical and experimental study, using the one with widely employed bicubic interpolation as a benchmark. The global look-up table strategy with cubic B-spline interpolation improves significantly the accuracy of the IC-GN algorithm-based DIC method compared with the one using the bicubic interpolation, at a trivial price of computation efficiency. | Zhiwei Pan Wei Chen Zhenyu Jiang Liqun Tang Yiping Liu Zejia Liu | 2016 | Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2016,6,3: | 3
Enhanced flexural performance of epoxy polymer concrete with short natural fibers显示文摘Epoxy polymer concrete(EPC) has found various applications in civil engineering. To enhance the flexural performance of EPC,two kinds of short natural fibers with high specific strength(sisal fibers and ramie fibers) have been incorporated into EPC. The results of mechanical tests show that a small loading of natural fibers(0.36 vol%) can significantly increase the flexural strength of EPC by 25.3%(ramie fibers) or 10.4%(sisal fibers). This enhancement is achieved without any sacrifice of compressive strength of EPC. The reinforcing effects of short natural fibers on the flexural properties and compressive properties of EPC decrease with further increase in fiber content, due to the insufficient wetting of fibers by epoxy resin which results in poor interfacial bonding. The reinforcing mechanisms of short natural fibers are explored according to the observation of fracture surfaces and micromechanical modelling. It is found that the parallel model based on the rule of mixture can be a good approximation to describe the improvement in flexural strength of the short natural fiber reinforced EPC at low fiber volume fractions. | HU Bin ZHANG NanLi LIAO YuTian PAN ZhiWei LIU YiPing ZHOU LiCheng LIU ZeJia JIANG ZhenYu | 2018 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2018,61,8: | 2
State of charge estimation by square root cubature particle filter approach with fractional order model of lithium-ion battery显示文摘In this paper, a square root cubature particle filter approach was designed to estimate the state of charge of lithium-ion battery, which not only enhanced the numerical stability and guaranteed positive definiteness of the state covariance, but also increased accuracy and decreased computation quantity. Due to the fractional characteristics of the battery capacitance, a fractional order model was used to formulate the lithium-ion battery. Considering the high accuracy and easy convergence, a particle swarm optimization algorithm was utilized to identify the model parameters. The above-mentioned approach was modelled and translated into C code, which was downloaded into battery control unit of battery management system for experimental validation. Two kinds of dynamic cycles were utilized to validate the proposed approach at different temperatures, where both unscent Kalman filter and cubature Kalman filter were compared with the proposed approach. Experimental results indicate that the proposed approach has better accuracy and robustness, and fractional order model is more accurate than integer order model. Therefore, the square root cubature particle filter with fractional order model of lithium-ion battery is a good candidate to estimate the state of charge. | LIU YiWen SHI Qin WEI YuJiang HE ZeJia HU XiaoSong HE Lin | 2022 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,8: | 2
A Fuzzy-based Sliding Mode Control Approach for Acceleration Slip Regulation of Battery Electric Vehicle显示文摘Due to quick response and large quantity of electric motor torque, the traction wheels of battery electric vehicle are easy to slip during the initial phase of starting. In this paper,a sliding mode control approach of acceleration slip regulation is designed to prevent the slip of the traction wheels. The wheel slip ratio is used as the state variable for the formulation of system dynamics model. The fuzzy algorithm is utilized to adjust the switch function of sliding mode controller. After stability and robustness analysis, the sliding mode control law is transferred into C code and downloaded into vehicle control unit, which is validated under wet and dry road conditions. The experimental results with a small overshoot and a quick response during starting indicate that the sliding mode controller has good control efect on the slip ratio regulation. This article proposes an acceleration slip regulation method that improves the safety during acceleration for battery electric vehicle. | Qin Shi Mingwei Wang Zejia He Cheng Yao Yujiang Wei Lin He | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2022,35,4: | 2

Generation and control of dynamically tunable circular Pearcey beams with annular spiral-zone phase显示文摘Light-field shaping technology plays an important role in optics and nanophotonics. For instance, the spatially structured light field, which exhibits characteristic features in complex phases, light intensity, and polarization, is crucial to understanding new physical phenomena and exploring practical applications. Herein, we propose and demonstrate a new class of tunable circular Pearcey beams(TCPBs) by imposing the annular spiral-zone phase(ASZP). Through experiments, we used a spatial light modulator to generate TCPBs based on their spiral phase distribution, and numerically analyzed the generation and control of the beams with unusual autofocusing and self-rotating dynamics. ASZP is a general term for complex phases composed of the spiral phase, equiphase, and radial phase. TCPB typically exhibits dynamical properties, including abrupt autofocusing, automatic generation of optical bottles, and self-rotation of the beam pattern, during propagation. Besides, the number of generated optical bottles can be modulated by the superposition mode of ASZP and the number of subphases. We found that an inappropriate superposition mode leads to distortion, and we analyzed the underlying mechanism. Potential applications of TCPBs in optical manipulation are also discussed, presenting an exemplary role desired for light-field manipulation. | KaiHui Chen HuiXin Qiu You Wu ZeJia Lin HaiQi Huang LingLing Shui DongMei Deng HongZhan Liu ZhiGang Chen | 2021 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,10: | 1

Hydrogen Ion Implantation Induced Cutting Behavior Variation in Plunge Cutting of the Monocrystalline Silicon显示文摘In this study, surface modification of monocrystalline silicon with two doses of hydrogen ion implantation and the plunge cutting process were conducted to explore the influence of hydrogen ions on the cutting behavior of silicon. The results show that ion implantation is capable of deteriorating or improving the machinability of silicon, depending on the implantation dose.More cleavages and a reduction of critical depth of cut(CDoC)were observed for the silicon with a low implantation dose in the cutting direction of<100>in comparison to bare silicon, while no cleavage and an increase of CDoC were achieved after implantation with a high dose in the same cutting direction.Besides, the ductile cutting and thrust forces of the silicon with the low dose are larger than the bare silicon, but the forces are significantly reduced for the silicon after the high dose of implantation. The variation of the cutting forces is due to the different required stresses to overcome ductile and fracture deformation of silicon. | Zejia Zhao E.V.Jelenkovic Gaobo Xiao Zhuoxuan Zhuang Suet To | 2021 | Nanomanufacturing and Metrology2021,4,4: | 1

PSPC1 regulates CHK1 phosphorylation through phase separation and participates in mouse oocyte maturation显示文摘Liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS) underlies the formation of membraneless compartments in mammal cells. However, there are few reports that focus on the correlation of mouse oocyte maturation with LLPS. Previous studies have reported that paraspeckle component 1 (PSPC1) is related to the occurrence and development of tumors, but whether PSPC1 functions in mouse oocyte maturation is still unclear. Sequence analysis of PSPC1 protein showed that it contains a prion-like domain (PrLD) that is required for phase separation of proteins. In this study, we found that PSPC1 could undergo phase separation. Moreover, the loss of PrLD domain of PSPC1 could greatly weaken its phase separation ability. The immunofluorescence assays showed that PSPC1 is present in mouse oocytes in the germinal vesicle (GV) stage. Knockdown of PSPC1 significantly impeded the maturation of mouse oocytes in vitro. CHK1 has been reported to play important roles in the GV stage of mouse oocytes. Co-IP experiment revealed that PSPC1 could interact with phosphatase serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 5 (PPP5C), which regulates CHK1 phosphorylation. Western blot analysis revealed that PSPC1 could regulate the phosphorylation of CHK1 through PPP5C;however, PSPC1 without PrLD domain was inactive, suggesting that the lack of phase separation ability led to the abnormal function of PSPC1 in regulating CHK1 phosphorylation. Thus, we conclude that PSPC1 may undergo phase separation to regulate the phosphorylation level of CHK1 via PPP5C and participate in mouse oocyte maturation. Our study provides new insights into the mechanism of mouse oocyte maturation. | Jiong Li Peng Cui Qi Sun Ziye Du Zhen Chen Zejia Li Cong Liu Yuming Cao Zhe Yang Rong Liu Mengcheng Luo | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,11: | 0
