| 1 | 3D reconstruction method and connectivity rules of fracture networks generated under different mining layouts显示文摘In current research,a series of triaxial tests,which were employed to simulate three typical mining layouts(i.e.,top-coal caving,non-pillar mining and protected coal seam mining),were conducted on coal by using MTS815 Flex Test GT rock mechanics test system,and the fracture networks in the broken coal samples were qualitatively and quantitatively investigated by employing CT scanning and 3D reconstruction techniques.This work aimed at providing a detail description on the micro-structure and fractureconnectivity characteristics of rupture coal samples under different mining layouts.The results show that:(i)for protected coal seam mining layout,the coal specimens failure is in a compression-shear manner and oppositely,(ii)the tension-shear failure phenomenon is observed for top-coal caving and non-pillar mining layouts.By investigating the connectivity features of the generated fractures in the direction ofσ_1,under different mining layouts,it is found that the connectivity level of the fractures of the samples corresponding to non-pillar mining layout was the highest. | Zhang Ru Ai Ting Li Hegui Zhang Zetian Liu Jianfeng | 2013 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2013,23,6: | 18 |

| 3 | Numerical simulation of spatial distributions of mining-induced stress and fracture fields for three coal mining layouts显示文摘In this study, the spatial distributions of stress and fracture fields for three typical underground coal mining layouts, i.e. non-pillar mining(NM), top-coal caving mining(TCM) and protective coal-seam mining(PCM), are modeled using discrete element software UDEC. The numerical results show that different mining layouts can lead to different mining-induced stress fields, resulting in diverse fracture fields. For the PCM, the mining influenced area in front of the mining faces is the largest, and the stress concentration factor in front of the mining faces is the lowest. The spatial shapes of the mining-induced fracture fields under NM, TCM and PCM differ, and they are characterized by trapezoidal, triangular and tower shapes, respectively. The fractal dimensions of mining-induced fractures of the three mining layouts decrease in the order of PCM, TCM and NM. It is also shown that the PCM can result in a better gas control effect in coal mines with high outburst potential. | 4 | Scenario-based analysis and probability assessment of sub-synchronous oscillation caused by wind farms with direct-driven wind generators显示文摘Recently, explanations of the sub-synchronous oscillation(SSO) caused by wind farms based on directdriven wind generators(DDWGs) have been published in the literatures, in which the controller parameters of DDWGs and the system equivalent parameters play an important role. However, more than one set of parameters can cause weakly damped sub-synchronous modes. The most vulnerable and highly possible scenario is still unknown. To find scenarios that have potential oscillation risks, this paper proposes a small disturbance model of wind farms with DDWGs connected to the grid using a state-space modeling technique. Taguchi’s orthogonal array testing is introduced to generate different scenarios.Multiple scenarios with different parameter settings that may lead to SSOs are found. A probabilistic analysis method based on the Gaussian mixture model is employed to evaluate the consistency of these scenarios with the actual accidents. | 5 | Magnetically levitated/piezoelectric/triboelectric hybrid generator as a power supply for the temperature sensor显示文摘The combination of new intelligent materials and structure technology is becoming an effective way in energy havesting and self-powered sensing. In this work, we demonstrate a magnetically levitated/piezoelectric/triboelectric hybrid generator, which does not use complex structure and has high steady output performance. It includes three parts: magnetically levitated generator(MLG), piezoelectric generator(PNG), triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG). The peak power of each is 135 μW, 22 mW and3.6 mW, which are obtained at 1 MΩ, 10 kΩ and 1 kΩ, respectively. The hybrid generator can completely light up light-emitting diodes(LEDs) under the vibration frequency of 20 Hz and the vibration amplitude of 10 mm. It also can charge a 470 μF capacitor.On this basis, we have integrated the hybrid generaor as a power supply into a self-powered tempreature sensing system. | 7 | Modeling size-dependent thermo-mechanical behaviors of shape memory polymer Bernoulli-Euler microbeam显示文摘The objective of this paper is to model the size-dependent thermo-mechanical behaviors of a shape memory polymer (SMP) microbeam.Size-dependent constitutive equations,which can capture the size effect of the SMP,are proposed based on the modified couple stress theory (MCST).The deformation energy expression of the SMP microbeam is obtained by employing the proposed size-dependent constitutive equation and Bernoulli-Euler beam theory.An SMP microbeam model,which includes the formulations of deflection,strain,curvature,stress and couple stress,is developed by using the principle of minimum potential energy and the separation of variables together.The sizedependent thermo-mechanical and shape memory behaviors of the SMP microbeam and the influence of the Poisson ratio are numerically investigated according to the developed SMP microbeam model.Results show that the size effects of the SMP microbeam are significant when the dimensionless height is small enough.However,they are too slight to be necessarily considered when the dimensionless height is large enough.The bending flexibility and stress level of the SMP microbeam rise with the increasing dimensionless height,while the couple stress level declines with the increasing dimensionless height.The larger the dimensionless height is,the more obvious the viscous property and shape memory effect of the SMP microbeam are.The Poisson ratio has obvious influence on the size-dependent behaviors of the SMP microbeam.The paper provides a theoretical basis and a quantitatively analyzing tool for the design and analysis of SMP micro-structures in the field of biological medicine,microelectronic devices and micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) self-assembling. | Bo ZHOU Xueyao ZHENG Zetian KANG Shifeng XUE | 2019 | Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2019,40,11: | 2 |
| 8 | Growth monitoring of greenhouse lettuce based on a convolutional neural network显示文摘Growth-related traits,such as aboveground biomass and leaf area,are critical indicators to characterize the growth of greenhouse lettuce.Currently,nondestructive methods for estimating growth-related traits are subject to limitations in that the methods are susceptible to noise and heavily rely on manually designed features.In this study,a method for monitoring the growth of greenhouse lettuce was proposed by using digital images and a convolutional neural network(CNN).Taking lettuce images as the input,a CNN model was trained to learn the relationship between images and the corresponding growth-related traits,i.e.,leaf fresh weight(LFW),leaf dry weight(LDW),and leaf area(LA).To compare the results of the CNN model,widely adopted methods were also used.The results showed that the values estimated by CNN had good agreement with the actual measurements,with R^(2) values of 0.8938,0.8910,and 0.9156 and normalized root mean square error(NRMSE)values of 26.00,22.07,and 19.94%,outperforming the compared methods for all three growth-related traits.The obtained results showed that the CNN demonstrated superior estimation performance for the flat-type cultivars of Flandria and Tiberius compared with the curled-type cultivar of Locarno.Generalization tests were conducted by using images of Tiberius from another growing season.The results showed that the CNN was still capable of achieving accurate estimation of the growth-related traits,with R2 values of 0.9277,0.9126,and 0.9251 and NRMSE values of 22.96,37.29,and 27.60%.The results indicated that a CNN with digital images is a robust tool for the monitoring of the growth of greenhouse lettuce. | Lingxian Zhang Zanyu Xu Dan Xu Juncheng Ma Yingyi Chen Zetian Fu | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 2 |

Here we show that such a critical size scaling issue of LEDs can be addressed by utilizing N-polar In Ga N nanowires. We studied the epitaxy and performance characteristics of N-polar In Ga N nanowire LEDs grown on sapphire substrate by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy. A maximum external quantum efficiency-11% was measured for LEDs with lateral dimensions as small as 750 nm directly on wafer without any packaging. The effect of electron overflow and Auger recombination on the device performance is also studied. The self-tightening sealing structure and the quick-disassembly structure were designed on the basis of an innovative segmented nonuniformdiameter structure, which was a breakthrough from the traditional high-pressure vessel frame and was verified by finite element simulation and actual testing under extreme working conditions, respectively.To simulate the actual deep in-situ environment with a temperature of 150℃ and pressure of 140 MPa for a large Φ450 mm×H1400 mm core, temperature and pressure control systems were designed by coupling, and a pre-embedded high-pressure-resistant temperature sensor was designed.
