1Simultaneous CO_(2) capture and thermochemical heat storage by modified carbide slag in coupled calcium looping and CaO/Ca(OH)2 cycles显示文摘The simultaneous CO_(2) capture and heat storage performances of the modified carbide slag with byproduct of biodiesel were investigated in the process coupled calcium looping and CaO/Ca(OH)2 thermochemical heat storage using air as the heat transfer fluid.The modified carbide slag with by-product of biodiesel exhibits superior CO_(2) capture and heat storage capacities in the coupled calcium looping and heat storage cycles.The hydration conversion and heat storage density of the modified carbide slag after 30 heat storage cycles are 0.65 mol·mol^(-1) and 1.14 GJ·t^(-1),respectively,which are 1.6 times as high as those of calcined carbide slag.The negative effect of CO_(2) in air as the heat storage fluid on the heat storage capacity of the modified carbide slag is overcome by introducing CO_(2) capture cycles.In addition,the CO_(2) capture reactivity of the modified carbide slag after the multiple calcium looping cycles is enhanced by the introduction of heat storage cycles.By introducing 10 heat storage cycles after the 10th and 15th CO_(2) capture cycles,the CO_(2) capture capacities of the modified carbide slag are subsequently improved by 32%and 43%,respectively.The porous and loose structure of modified carbide slag reduces the diffusion resistances of CO_(2) and steam in the material in the coupled process.The formed CaCO_(3)in the modified carbide slag as a result of air as the heat transfer fluid in heat storage cycles decomposes to regenerate CaO in calcium looping cycles,which improves heat storage capacity.Therefore,the modified carbide slag with by-product of biodiesel seems promising in the coupled calcium looping and CaO/Ca(OH)_(2) heat storage cycles.Chunxiao Zhang Yingjie Li Zhiguo Bian Wan Zhang Zeyan Wang 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,8:5

3Numerical Investigation of Base-Setting of Stator's Stagger Angles for a 15-stage Axial-Flow Compressor显示文摘A 15-stage axial-flow compressor utilized in steel industry was studied in this paper. All the stator's stagger angles of the compressor are variable to ensure the multistage compressor operate effectively within a wide range of flow rate and meanwhile satisfy the demand for sufficient pressure ratio, adiabatic efficiency and stall margin. Three in all different base-settings of stator's stagger angles were presented and commercial CFD software was applied to obtain the overall performance characteristics. The results showed that both of the optimized base-settings improved the performances both in summer and winter conditions, although the adiabatic efficiency was somewhat decreased. Taking incidence angle and stage loading into consideration, differences among the three cases were analyzed in detail. 4Recent advances in high slope reinforcement in China: Case studies显示文摘This paper reviews a number of engineering technologies and workmanships for addressing the challenging issues concerning possible landslides in large-scale slope reinforcement projects in China.It includes:(1) the multi-point anchored piles with a depth of 64 m in the Jietai Temple rehabilitation project,(2) soil nailing strengthened by driven pipe grouting technique covering an area of530 m × 100 m(length × height) in the Xiluodu hydropower project,(3) the cantilever piles extending vertically from the slope toe to stabilize a 300 m high slope at the Xiaowan hydropower station,(4) a new and simple workmanship for building a pile with cross-sectional area of 20 m × 5 m in the Hongjiadu hydropower station,and(5) comprehensive reinforcement scheme proposed for excavation of a 530 m high slope in Jinping I hydropower station.These new technologies can provide valuable experiences for reinforcement of high slopes of similar projects in China and other regions and countries with similar geological conditions.Zuyu Chen Zhen Wang Hao Xi Zeyan Yang Lichun Zou Zhong Zhou Chuangbing Zhou 2016Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2016,8,6:2

6An experimental and modeling study on polyoxymethylene dimethyl ether 3(PODE_(3))oxidation in a jet stirred reactor显示文摘Polyoxymethylene dimethyl ether(PODE n,n≥1)is a class of oxygenated fuels containing unique carbon-oxygen chain structure and a promising alternative fuel for diesel engines.In this study,low-temperature oxidation characteristics of PODE_(3) were studied experimentally and numerically.Experiments were performed in a jet-stirred reactor(JSR)at equivalence ratios of 0.5,1.0 and 2.0,in the temperature range of 500 to 950 K,and at atmospheric pressure.Mole fractions of PODE_(3),O_(2),H_(2),CO,CO_(2),CH_(3) OH and C_(1)-C_(2) hydrocarbons were measured by gas chromatograph(GC).Experimental measurements were compared with the simulation results based on two literature low-temperature oxidation models,denoted as the He model and the Cai model,respectively.Good agreement was obtained between the measured and simulated fuel consumption profiles,while a deviation was observed between the experimental and simulation results on the mole fractions of O_(2) and intermediate products at medium temperatures.Reaction pathway analyses based on the two models were performed,revealing that the second O_(2)-addition reaction pathway is more significant in the prediction by the Cai model than that by the He model.Sensitivity analyses pointed out that the most important reactions affecting fuel consumption are the H-abstraction reactions of PODE_(3),and the decomposition of H_(2) O_(2) and the consumption of CH_(2)O become more sensitive at medium temperatures.Zeyan Qiu Anhao Zhong Zhen Huang Dong Han 2022Fundamental Research2022,2,5:1
7NO removal performance of CO in carbonation stage of calcium looping for CO_(2) capture显示文摘Calcium looping realizes CO_(2)capture via the cyclic calcination/carbonation of CaO.The combustion of fuel supplies energy for the calciner.It is unavoidable that some unburned char in the calciner flows into the carbonator,generating CO due to the hypoxic atmosphere in the carbonator.CO can reduce NO in the flue gases from coal-fired power plants.In this work,NO removal performance of CO in the carbonation stage of calcium looping for CO_(2)capture was investigated in a bubbling fluidized bed reactor.The effects of carbonation temperature,CO concentration,CO_(2)capture,type of CaO,number of CO_(2)capture cycles and presence of char on NO removal by CO in carbonation stage of calcium looping were discussed.CaO possesses an efficient catalytic effect on NO removal by CO.High temperature and high CO concentration lead to high NO removal efficiency of CO in the presence of CaO.Taking account of better NO removal and CO_(2)capture,the optimal carbonation temperature is 650℃.The carbonation of CaO reduces the catalytic activity of CaO for NO removal by CO due to the formation of CaCO_(3).Besides,the catalytic performance of CaO on NO removal by CO gradually decreases with the number of CO_(2)capture cycles.This is because the sintering of CaO leads to the fusion of CaO grains and blockage of pores in CaO,hindering the diffusion of NO and CO.The high CaO content and porous structure of calcium-based sorbents are beneficial for NO removal by CO.The presence of char promotes NO removal by CO in the carbonator.CO_(2)/NO removal efficiencies can reach above 90%.The efficient simultaneous NO and CO_(2)removal by CO and CaO in the carbonation step of the calcium looping seems promising.Wan Zhang Yingjie Li Yuqi Qian Boyu Li Jianli Zhao Zeyan Wang 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,9:1

9Leading-edge technologies in hydropower development in China显示文摘After the implementation of the Reform and Opening-up Policy for a period of 40 years, the exploitation of Chin a's hydropower resources developed significa ntly. Through vast amounts of scie ntific and tech no logical research and construction practices, China has accumulated abundant engineering experience with respect to the construction technologies required for 300-meter-high concrete arch dams, 200-meter-high roller-compacted concrete gravity dams, 200-meter-high concrete face rockfill dams, 250?meter?high earth core rockfill dams, large-flow discharge and energy dissipation, huge underground cavern group constructions, complicated foundation treatments for high earth and rockfill dams and high and steep slope reinforceme nts. These series of tech no logies have now reached an inter national leadi ng level.
