2Effect of Alkali Stress on Soluble Sugar, Antioxidant Enzymes and Yield of Oat显示文摘Alkali stress can cause severe crop damage and reduce production. However, physiological processes involved in alkali stress in oat seedlings are not well understood. In this study, physiological responses and yield of oat to alkali stress were studied using the alkali-tolerant oat genotype Vao-9 and the alkali-sensitive oat genotype Baiyan 5. The results were: (i) low concentrations of alkali stress (25 and 50 mmol L-1) significantly reduced the yield and grain weight while increased the oat grain number per spike. A negative correlation between yield and malondialdehyde (MDA) content at the jointing and grain filling stages and positive correlations between yield on one hand and superoxide dismutase (SOD), and peroxidase (POD) activities on the other at the jointing stage were observed. There was a positive correlation between MDA and soluble sugar at the grain filling stage; (ii) soluble sugar content was increased at the jointing and grain filling stages and decreased at the heading stage by alkali stress; (iii) alkali stress increased the SOD activity during the heading and grain filling stages, and increased the POD activity at the heading stage. As compared to the control, the increase of MDA contents in alkali-treated oat was observed, during the jointing, heading and grain filling stages; (iv) under alkali stress, the oat genotype Vao-9 showed higher antioxidant enzyme activity and lower soluble sugar contents during the heading stage, and lower MDA contents than those in the oat genotype Baiyan 5 under alkali stress. 3Effects of size variation and spatial structure on plastic response of plant height to light competition显示文摘Plants only interact with neighbors over restricted distances,so local conditions are of great significance for plants.In this study,a spatially-explicit,individual-based model was constructed to explore the effects of size variation and spatial structure on adaptive plasticity of plant height in response to light competition.In the model a plant maintains its height at an optimal value in order to maximize its growth rate,and this optimal height increases with the increase of the intensity of light competition experienced by the individual plant.When the spatial pattern of the population is non-uniform or there is size variation among individual plants,the height growth curves of individuals different from each other vary due to the differences in the local light environment,and there is also variation in the allocation of photosynthate to height growth among the individual plants.There is no ESS height or height growth strategy on which all plants will converge.Our results indicate that the plasticity of plants' height growth reactions to the light competition should be considered at the individual level and they argue strongly for the importance of the spatial pattern and neighborhood effects in generating the diversity of heights and height growth strategies in plant population.CHEN ShuYan ZHANG JiaLin JIA Peng XU Jin WANG Gang XIAO Sa 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,12:8
4Effects of ammonia exposure on carcass traits and fatty acid composition of broiler meat显示文摘We aimed to study the effects of ammonia on carcass traits, organ indices and fatty acid composition of broilers. Four hundred 21-d-old male Arbor Acres broilers with initial weight 563.52 ± 2.82 g were randomly allotted to 1 of 4 groups treated with ammonia at <3 mg/kg(control),25 ± 3. 50 ± 3, and75 ± 3 mg/kg concentrations. Each group consisted of 4 replicates of 25 birds. Broilers from 21 to 42 d were reared on the net floor in the respiration-metabolism chambers where similar environmental conditions were maintained. At 32 and 42 d of age, carcass traits and organ indices were determined for4 birds per pen. At 42 d of age, fatty acid composition in the breast and thigh muscle of broilers was measured. Results showed as follows: 1) At 32 d, the dressing percentage of broilers exposed to 25 and75 mg/kg ammonia were lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05); eviscerated yield percentage of broilers in the 25 mg/kg ammonia group was also lower(P < 0.05). At 42 d, the dressing percentage of broilers in the ammonia treatments and the thigh muscle percentage of broilers in the 50 and 75 mg/kg ammonia groups were lower(P < 0.05) than those in the control. Breast muscle percentage of broilers exposed to 25 and 50 mg/kg ammonia and eviscerated yield percentage exposed to 50 mg/kg ammonia were lower than those in the control(P < 0.05). 2) The kidney index of broilers(d 32) exposed to ammonia was greater(P < 0.05) than that of the control. At 42 d, hepatic index of broilers exposed to ammonia was increased(P < 0.05), and spleen index was decreased(P < 0.05). 3) At 42 d, stearic(C18:0)and saturated fatty acids(SFA) in the thigh muscle of broilers were higher, while the unsaturated fatty acid:saturated fatty acid(U:F) ratio and unsaturated fatty acid(UFA) were lower in the 50 mg/kg ammonia treatment than in the control group(P < 0.05). In conclusion, ammonia over 25 mg/kg could decline carcass traits and immune organ indices and increase the kidney and hepatic indices. 5Review of Chinese atmospheric science research over the past 70 years: Synoptic meteorology显示文摘Synoptic meteorology is a branch of meteorology that uses synoptic weather observations and charts for the diagnosis,study,and forecasting of weather.Weather refers to the specific state of the atmosphere near the Earth’s surface during a short period of time.The spatial distribution of meteorological elements in the atmosphere can be represented by a variety of transient weather phenomena,which are caused by weather systems of different spatial and temporal scales.Weather is closely related to people’s life,and its development and evolution have always been the focus of atmospheric scientific research and operation.The development of synoptic meteorology is closely related to the development of observation systems,dynamical theories and numerical models.In China,observation networks have been built since the early 1950 s.Up to now,a comprehensive meteorological observation systembased on ground,air and space has been established.In particular,the development of a new generation of dense radar networks,the development of the Fengyun satellite series and the implementation of a series of large field experiments have brought our understanding of weather from large-scale environment to thermal dynamics,cloud microphysical structure and evolution characteristics of meso and micro-scale weather systems.The development of observation has also promoted the development of theory,numerical model and simulation.In the early days,China mainly used foreign numerical models.Lately,China has developed numerical model systems with independent intellectual property rights.Based on the results of high-resolution numerical simulations,in-depth understanding of the initiation and evolution mechanism and predictability of weather at different scales has been obtained.Synoptic meteorology has gradually changed from an initially independent development to a multidisciplinary approach,and the interaction between weather and the change of climate and environment has become a hot and frontier topic in atmospheric science.This paper reviews the important scientific and technological achievements made in China over the past 70 years in the fields of synoptic meteorology based on the literatures in China and abroad,from six aspects respectively including atmospheric dynamics,synoptic-scale weather,typhoon and tropical weather,severe convective weather,numerical weather prediction and data assimilation,weather and climate,atmospheric physics and atmospheric environment.Zhiyong MENG Fuqing ZHANG Dehai LUO Zhemin TAN Juan FANG Jianhua SUN Xueshun SHEN Yunji ZHANG Shuguang WANG Wei HAN Kun ZHAO Lei ZHU Yongyun HU Huiwen XUE Yaping MA Lijuan ZHANG Ji NIE Ruilin ZHOU Sa LI Hongjun LIU Yuning ZHU 2019Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,12:7

7Evaluation of erectile function after urethral reconstruction:a prospective study显示文摘We conducted a prospective study of erectile dysfunction(ED)after urethral reconstructive surgery,using the 5-item International Index of Erectile Function(IIEF-5),the Sexual Life Quality Questionnaire(SLQQ)and the Quality of Life Questionnaire(QoLQ).Between January 2003 and July 2007,125 male patients with urethral strictures underwent urethroplasty,and pre-and post-surgery erectile function was assessed using these three questionnaires.A formula to predict the probability of ED after urethroplasty was derived.At 3 months post-operatively,there was a significant decrease in IIEF-5(16.57±7.98)and SLQQ scores(28.71±14.84)compared with pre-operative scores(P<0.05).However,the IIEF-5 scores rebounded at 6 months post-operatively(17.22±8.41).Logistical regression analysis showed that the location of the urethral stricture,the recurrence of strictures and the choice of surgical technique were predictive of the post-operative occurrence of ED.This study identified the clinical risk factors for ED after urethroplasty.Posterior urethral stricture and end-to-end anastomosis were found to have a strong relationship with erectile function.The logistical model derived in this study may be applied to clinical decision algorithms for patients with urethral strictures.Hong Xie Yue-Min Xu Xiao-Lin Xu Yin-Long Sa Deng-Long Wu Xin-Chi Zhang 2009Asian Journal of Andrology2009,11,2:6

9Death and do-not-resuscitate order in the emergency department:A single-center three-year retrospective study in the Chinese mainland显示文摘BACKGROUND:Consenting to do-not-resuscitate(DNR)orders is an important and complex medical decision-making process in the treatment of patients at the end-of-life in emergency departments(EDs).The DNR decision in EDs has not been extensively studied,especially in the Chinese mainland.METHODS:This retrospective chart study of all deceased patients in the ED of a university hospital was conducted from January 2017 to December 2019.The patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest were excluded.RESULTS:There were 214 patients’deaths in the ED in the three years.Among them,132 patients were included in this study,whereas 82 with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest were excluded.There were 99(75.0%)patients’deaths after a DNR order medical decision,64(64.6%)patients signed the orders within 24 hours of the ED admission,68(68.7%)patients died within 24 hours after signing it,and 97(98.0%)patients had DNR signed by the family surrogates.Multivariate analysis showed that four independent factors infl uenced the family surrogates’decisions to sign the DNR orders:lack of referral(odds ratio[OR]0.157,95%confi dence interval[CI]0.047–0.529,P=0.003),ED length of stay(ED LOS)≥72 hours(OR 5.889,95%CI 1.290–26.885,P=0.022),acute myocardial infarction(AMI)(OR 0.017,95%CI 0.001–0.279,P=0.004),and tracheal intubation(OR 0.028,95%CI 0.007–0.120,P<0.001).CONCLUSIONS:In the Chinese mainland,the proportion of patients consenting for DNR order is lower than that of developed countries.The decision to sign DNR orders is mainly affected by referral,ED LOS,AMI,and trachea intubation.Chuan-qi Ding Yu-ping Zhang Yu-wei Wang Min-fei Yang Sa Wang Nian-qi Cui Jing-fen Jin 2020World Journal of Emergency Medicine2020,11,4:5
10Lateral Hypothalamic Area Glutamatergic Neurons and Their Projections to the Lateral Habenula Modulate the Anesthetic Potency of Isoflurane in Mice显示文摘The lateral hypothalamic area(LHA)plays a pivotal role in regulating consciousness transition,in which orexinergic neurons,GABAergic neurons,and melanin-concentrating hormone neurons are involved.Glutamatergic neurons have a large population in the LHA,but their anesthesia-related effect has not been explored.Here,we found that genetic ablation of LHA glutamatergic neurons shortened the induction time and prolonged the recovery time of isoflurane anesthesia in mice.In contrast,chemogenetic activation of LHA glutamatergic neurons increased the time to anesthesia and decreased the time to recovery.Optogenetic activation of LHA glutamatergic neurons during the maintenance of anesthesia reduced the burst suppression pattern of the electroencephalogram(EEG)and shifted EEG features to an arousal pattern.Photostimulation of LHA glutamatergic projections to the lateral habenula(LHb)also facilitated the emergence from anesthesia and the transition of anesthesia depth to a lighter level.Collectively,LHA glutamatergic neurons and their projections to the LHb regulate anesthetic potency and EEG features.Shiyi Zhao Rui Li Huiming Li Sa Wang Xinxin Zhang Dan Wang Juan Guo Huihui Li Ao Li Tingting Tong Haixing Zhong Qianzi Yang Hailong Dong 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,7:5

12Automated Sequencing and Subassembly Detection in Automobile Body Assembly Planning显示文摘The choice of the sequence in which parts or subass em blies are put together in the mechanical assembly of a product can drastical ly affect the efficiency of the assembly process. Unlike metal cutting operation s where computer aided system have been available for some 15 to 25 years to hel p manufacturing engineers in generating cutting sequences and NC programs, the m ajority of assembly planning tasks in automobile body design is still manually p erformed by assembly designers according to their past experiences. This has prolonged the production lead time and time to market. This paper describes a p rocedure to automatically derive all the feasible assembly sequences for automob ile body assembly. The procedure is based on a mathematical model of the automob ile body, obtained through the definitions of the connection matrix and contract ed matrix. These two matrices represent the precedence constraint knowledge amon g components and subassemblies. The possible subassemblies are automatically det ected by satisfying some mathematical conditions applicable to these matrices. F or each subassembly and the whole product, all the possible assembly sequences a re generated by rearranging the initial connection sub-matrix and the contracte d matrix. 14Identification of the unknown shielding parameters with gammaray spectrum using a derivative-free inverse radiation transport model显示文摘Identifying the unknown geometric and material information of a multi-shield object by analyzing the radiation signature measurements is always an important problem in national and global security. In order to identify the unknown shielding layer thicknesses of a source/shield system with gamma-ray spectra, we have developed a derivative-free inverse radiation transport model based on a differential evolution algorithm with global and local neighbourhoods(IRT-DEGL). In the present paper, the IRT-DEGL model is further extended for estimating the unknown thicknesses with random initial guesses and material mass densities of multi-shielding layers as well as their combinations. 163D uniform nitrogen-doped carbon skeleton for ultra-stable sodium metal anode显示文摘Sodium metal batteries are arousing extensive interest owing to their high energy density,low cost and wide resource.However,the practical development of sodium metal batteries is inherently plagued by the severe volume expansion and the dendrite growth of sodium metal anode during long cycles under high current density.Herein,a simple electrospinning method is applied to construct the uniformly nitrogen-doped porous carbon fiber skeleton and used as three-dimensional(3D)current collector for sodium metal anode,which has high specific surface area(1,098 m^2/g)and strong binding to sodium metal.As a result,nitrogen-doped carbon fiber current collector shows a low sodium deposition overpotential and a highly stable cyclability for 3,500 h with a high coulombic effciency of 99.9%at 2 mA/cm^2 and 2 mAh/cm^2.Moreover,the full cells using carbon coated sodium vanadium phosphate as cathode and sodium pre-plated nitrogen-doped carbon fiber skeleton as hybrid anode can stably cycle for 300 times.These results illustrate an effective strategy to construct a 3D uniformly nitrogen-doped carbon skeleton based sodium metal hybrid anode without the formation of dendrites,which provide a prospect for further development and research of high performance sodium metal batteries.Ben Liu Danni Lei Jin Wang Qingfei Zhang Yinggan Zhang Wei He Hongfei Zheng Baisheng Sa Qingshui Xie Dong-Liang Peng Baihua Qu 2020Nano Research2020,13,8:3

18Dual-Functional Lithiophilic/Sulfiphilic Binary-Metal Selenide Quantum Dots Toward High-Performance Li-S Full Batteries显示文摘The commercial viability of lithium-sulfur batteries is still challenged by the notorious lithium polysulfides(Li PSs)shuttle effect on the sulfur cathode and uncontrollable Li dendrites growth on the Li anode.Herein,a bi-service host with Co-Fe binary-metal selenide quantum dots embedded in three-dimensional inverse opal structured nitrogen-doped carbon skeleton(3DIO FCSe-QDs@NC)is elaborately designed for both sulfur cathode and Li metal anode.The highly dispersed FCSe-QDs with superb adsorptive-catalytic properties can effectively immobilize the soluble Li PSs and improve diffusion-conversion kinetics to mitigate the polysulfide-shutting behaviors.Simultaneously,the 3D-ordered porous networks integrated with abundant lithophilic sites can accomplish uniform Li deposition and homogeneous Li-ion flux for suppressing the growth of dendrites.Taking advantage of these merits,the assembled Li-S full batteries with 3DIO FCSe-QDs@NC host exhibit excellent rate performance and stable cycling ability(a low decay rate of 0.014%over 2,000 cycles at 2C).Remarkably,a promising areal capacity of 8.41 mAh cm^(-2)can be achieved at the sulfur loading up to 8.50 mg cm^(-2)with an ultra-low electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 4.1μL mg^(-1).This work paves the bi-serve host design from systematic experimental and theoretical analysis,which provides a viable avenue to solve the challenges of both sulfur and Li electrodes for practical Li-S full batteries.Youzhang Huang Liang Lin Yinggan Zhang Lie Liu Baisheng Sa Jie Lin Laisen Wang Dong-Liang Peng Qingshui Xie 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,5:2

20基于iTRAQ定量蛋白质组学技术分析日粮中添加非淀粉多糖酶对生长猪背最长肌中蛋白表达影响(英文)显示文摘目的:通过日粮中添加非淀粉多糖酶,运用同位素标记相对和绝对定量技术(i TRAQ技术)分析非淀粉多糖酶对生长猪背最长肌蛋白质表达有何影响,为饲料中添加非淀粉多糖酶提供理论基础。创新点:采用i TRAQ定量蛋白质组学技术,通过对生长猪背最长肌蛋白质表达进行高通量分析,发现日粮中添加非淀粉多糖酶可影响许多功能蛋白表达,从分子水平阐述了其发挥作用的机理。方法:将体重约39 kg生长猪(48头)随机分为两个处理,每个处理4个重复,每个重复6头猪。对照组饲喂基础日粮,试验组在基础日粮中添加0.6%非淀粉多糖酶。50天试验期后,每个重复屠宰1头猪(n=8),取背最长肌,通过i TRAQ定量蛋白质组学技术分析肌肉组织中差异蛋白表达。结论:i TRAQ定量蛋白质组学分析结果显示,试验组与对照组相比,共发现51个差异蛋白,其中38个可进行生物学功能定位(图1,表6)。差异表达蛋白中与能量生成、蛋白质合成、肌肉分化、免疫、抗氧化和解毒相关蛋白表达量上调,而与炎症反应相关蛋白表达量下调。综上所述,生长猪日粮中添加非淀粉多糖酶不仅可改善生产性能,同时还可调节肌肉中诸多代谢功能。Ji-ze ZHANG Yang GAO Qing-ping LU Ren-na SA Hong-fu ZHANG 2015Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2015,16,6:2
