1Repurposing vitamin D for treatment of human malignancies via targeting tumor microenvironment显示文摘Tumor cells along with a small proportion of cancer stem cells exist in a stromal microenvironment consisting of vasculature, cancer-associated fibroblasts, immune cells and extracellular components.Recent epidemiological and clinical studies strongly support that vitamin D supplementation is associated with reduced cancer risk and favorable prognosis. Experimental results suggest that vitamin D not only suppresses cancer cells, but also regulates tumor microenvironment to facilitate tumor repression. In this review, we have outlined the current knowledge on epidemiological studies and clinical trials of vitamin D. Notably, wesummarized and discussed the anticancer action of vitamin D in cancer cells, cancer stem cells and stroma cells in tumor microenvironment, providing a better understanding of the role of vitamin D in cancer. 3Monte Carlo simulation based on Geant4 of single event upset induced by heavy ions显示文摘The present work is a computational simulation of single event upset(SEU) induced by heavy ions passing through the device with Geant4-tool based on Monte Carlo transport code.Key parameters affecting SEU occurrence are examined,and related geometrical construction and critical charge are quantified.The MUlti-Functional Package for SEU Analysis(MUFPSA) has been successfully programmed and applied for SEU occurrence after the completion of device geometrical construction,critical charge,and SEU cross section calculation.The proposed MUFPSA has yielded a good agreement with MRED.Specifically,the results show that higher LET incident ions lead to increased SEU vulnerability due to more diffusion and higher energy deposition.In addition,the analytical method of radial ionization profile provides a good complementary interpretation.GENG Chao LIU Jie ZHANG ZhanGang HOU MingDong SUN YouMei XI Kai GU Song DUAN JingLai YAO HuiJun MO Dan LUO Jie 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,6:6

15Preparation and Properties of a New Mediumdensity and High-strength Ceramic Proppant显示文摘Based on the needs of the market,a new 52 MPa medium-density and high-strength ceramic proppant was prepared by adopting third grade bauxite and clay as raw materials and using the solid phase sintering method,and the effect of the firing temperature on the microstructure,phase composition and mechanical properties of the ceramic proppant was studied. The broken resistance mechanism of this ceramic proppant was also discussed. 16Recent trends in the use of polyoxometalate-based material for efficient water oxidation显示文摘Polyoxometalates(POMs),with their attractive topological and electronic properties,have been demonstrated over the last few decades to be efficient catalysts for many reactions.In a new direction,POMs having a purely inorganic framework are now being explored as efficient catalysts for water oxidation.This review focuses on very recent developments of POM-based catalysts for water oxidation to O2.In the very extensive family of POMs,tetra-core sandwich-type Ru-and Co-containing POM complexes,namely [Ru4O4(OH)2(H2O)4(γ-SiW10O36)2]10-and [Co4(H2O)2(γ-PW9O34)2]10? exhibit the ability to facilitate water oxidation under electrocatalytic and/or photocatalytic conditions.However,it is concluded that much work still needs to be done to explain the catalytic mechanisms and optimize these catalytic systems.In addition,recent trends in using ionic liquids as media to modify the electrolytic environment and enhance water oxidation are highlighted.HAN ZhanGang BOND Alan M ZHAO Chuan 2011Science China Chemistry2011,54,12:1
