| 1 | TiO_(2) Nanocrystals Grown on Graphene as Advanced Photocatalytic Hybrid Materials显示文摘A graphene/TiO_(2) nanocrystals hybrid has been successfully prepared by directly growing TiO_(2) nanocrystals on graphene oxide(GO)sheets.The direct growth of the nanocrystals on GO sheets was achieved by a two-step method,in which TiO_(2) was first coated on GO sheets by hydrolysis and crystallized into anatase nanocrystals by hydrothermal treatment in the second step.Slow hydrolysis induced by the use of EtOH/H2O mixed solvent and addition of H2SO4 facilitates the selective growth of TiO_(2) on GO and suppresses growth of free TiO_(2) in solution.The method offers easy access to the GO/TiO_(2) nanocrystals hybrid with a uniform coating and strong interactions between TiO_(2) and the underlying GO sheets.The strong coupling gives advanced hybrid materials with various applications including photocatalysis.The prepared graphene/TiO_(2) nanocrystals hybrid has superior photocatalytic activity to other TiO_(2) materials in the degradation of rhodamine B,showing an impressive three-fold photocatalytic enhancement over P25.It is expected that the hybrid material could also be promising for various other applications including lithium ion batteries,where strong electrical coupling to TiO_(2) nanoparticles is essential. | Yongye Liang Hailiang Wang Hernan Sanchez Casalongue Zhuo Chen Hongjie Dai | 2010 | Nano Research2010,3,10: | 57 |

| 6 | A gradient analysis on urban sprawl and urban landscape pattern between 1985 and 2000 in the Pearl River Delta, China显示文摘Urbanization is an irreversible trend world- wide,especially in rapidly developing China.Accelerated urbanization has resulted in rapid urban sprawl and urban landscape pattern changes.Quantifying the spatiotemporal dynamics of urban land use and landscape pattem not only can reveal the characteristics of social transfer and economic development,but also can provide insights into the driving mechanisms of land use changes.In this study,we integrated remote sensing (RS),geographic information system (GIS),landscape metrics,and gradient analysis to quantitatively compare the spatiotemporal dynamics of land use,urban sprawl,and landscape pattern for nine cities in the Pearl River Delta from 1985-2000. | 7 | A cyclodextrin-based nanoformulation achieves co-delivery of ginsenoside Rg3 and quercetin for chemo-immunotherapy in colorectal cancer显示文摘The immune checkpoint blockade therapy has profoundly revolutionized the field of cancer immunotherapy. However, despite great promise for a variety of cancers, the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors is still low in colorectal cancer(CRC). This is mainly due to the immunosuppressive feature of the tumor microenvironment(TME). Emerging evidence reveals that certain chemotherapeutic drugs induce immunogenic cell death(ICD), demonstrating great potential for remodeling the immunosuppressive TME. In this study, the potential of ginsenoside Rg3(Rg3) as an ICD inducer against CRC cells was confirmed using in vitro and in vivo experimental approaches. The ICD efficacy of Rg3 could be significantly enhanced by quercetin(QTN) that elicited reactive oxygen species(ROS). To amelioratein vivo delivery barriers associated with chemotherapeutic drugs, a folate(FA)-targeted polyethylene glycol(PEG)-modified amphiphilic cyclodextrin nanoparticle(NP) was developed for co-encapsulation of Rg3 and QTN. The resultant nanoformulation(CD-PEG-FA.Rg3.QTN) significantly prolonged blood circulation and enhanced tumor targeting in an orthotopic CRC mouse model, resulting in the conversion of immunosuppressive TME. Furthermore, the CD-PEG-FA.Rg3.QTN achieved significantly longer survival of animals in combination with Anti-PD-L1. | 9 | Cholesterol-tuned liposomal membrane rigidity directs tumor penetration and anti-tumor effect显示文摘Recently, liposomes have been widely used in cancer therapeutics, but their anti-tumor effects are suboptimal due to limited tumor penetration. To solve this problem, researchers have made significant efforts to optimize liposomal diameters and potentials, but little attention has been paid to liposomal membrane rigidity. Herein, we sought to demonstrate the effects of cholesterol-tuned liposomal membrane rigidity on tumor penetration and anti-tumor effects. In this study, liposomes composed of hydrogenated soybean phospholipids(HSPC), 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[methoxy(polyethylene glycol)-2000](DSPE-PEG2000) and different concentrations of cholesterol were prepared. It was revealed that liposomal membrane rigidity decreased with the addition of cholesterol. Moderate cholesterol content conferred excellent diffusivity to liposomes in simulated diffusion medium, while excessive cholesterol limited the diffusion process. We concluded that the differences of the diffusion rates likely stemmed from the alterations in liposomal membrane rigidity, with moderate rigidity leading to improved diffusion. Next, the in vitro tumor penetration and the in vivo anti-tumor effects were analyzed. The results showed that liposomes with moderate rigidity gained excellent tumor penetration and enhanced anti-tumor effects. | 13 | Cloning, expression and protective immunity evalua-tion of the full-length cDNA encoding succinate dehydrogenase iron-sulfur protein of Schistosoma japonicum显示文摘1071-bp fragment was obtained from the Schistosoma japonicum (Chinese strain) adult cDNA library after the 3′ and 5′ ends of the incomplete expression sequence tag (EST) of succinate dehydrogenase iron-sulfur protein of Schistosoma japonicum (SjSDISP) were amplified by the anchored PCR with 2 pairs of primers designed according to the EST of SjSDISP and the sequence of multiclone sites of the library vector. Sequence analysis indicated that the fragment was a full-length cDNA with a complete open reading frame (ORF), encoding 278 amino acid residues. The fragment was cloned into prokary- otic expression vector pQE30, and subsequently sequenced and expressed in Escherichia coli. SDS-PAGE and Western-blot analyses showed that the recombinant protein was about 32 kD and could be recognized by the polyclonal antisera from rabbits immunized with Schistosoma japonicum adult worm antigen. Compared with the FCA controls, mice vaccinated with rSjSDISP (test) or rSjGST (posi- tive control) all revealed high levels of specific antibody and significant reduction in worm burden, liver eggs per gram (LEPG), fecal eggs per gram (FEPG) and intrauterine eggs. These results suggest that SjSDISP may be a novel and partially protective vaccine candidate against schistosomiasis. To investigate its effect on gene therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma, a double suicide fusion gene expression cassette, CDUPRT/GFP controlled by a synthetic CMV enhancer-enhanced hTERT promoter (CeTp) which was determined by luciferase assays was constructed in pHrn backbone, creating an expression vector pHr-CeTpCDUPRT/GFP. After transfer of plasmid to hepatocellular carcinoma cell line Bel7402 in vitro, the transfection efficiency reached 30%―50% by using flow cytometer. The expression of CDUPRT/GFP was detected by RT-PCR and Western Blotting. After the administra- tion of 5-FC, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was applied to examine the level of 5-FU in supernatant, resulting in a concentration of 60.15 μg/mL. The Methylthiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay was then utilized to investigate the antitumor effect of pHr-CeTpCDUPRT/GFP in Bel7402 cells, and rela- tive cell survival of 60%-35% was observed after 5-FC treatment. In vivo experiments, the nude mouse model of hepatocellular carcinoma was constructed and in situ gene therapy was performed. The results indicated the tumor growth of treatment group was obviously suppressed, and some even shrank, whenthe vectors and prodrugs were injected continuously. The expression of CDUPRT in tumor tissues was also identified by RT-PCR, and the concentration of 5-FU was 7.694 μg/mL in blood serum using HPLC detection. Then the pathological section of tumor tissues revealed significant tumor cell necrosis. | 17 | A new class of luminescent nanoprobes based on main-group Sb^(3+) emitters显示文摘Inorganic luminescent nanocrystals(NCs)doped with main-group ns^(2)-metal ions have evoked tremendous interest in many technological fields owing to their superior optical properties.Herein,we report a new class of luminescent nanoprobes based on 5s2-metal Sb3+-doped CaS NCs that are excitable by using a near ultraviolet light-emitting diode.The optical properties and excited-state dynamics of Sb3+in CaS NCs are comprehensively surveyed through temperature-dependent steady-state and transient photoluminescence(PL)spectroscopies.Owing to the strong electron-phonon coupling of Sb^(3+)in CaS NCs,Sb3+ions experience a dynamic Jahn-Taller distortion on the excited state,which results in bright green PL of Sb3+with a broad emission band,a large Stokes shift,and a high PL quantum yield up to 17.3%.By taking advantage of the intense PL of Sb^(3+),we show in proof-of-concept experiments the application of biotinylated CaS:Sb^(3+)NCs as sensitive luminescent nanoprobes for biotin receptor-targeted cancer cell imaging and zebrafish imaging with a high imaging contrast.These findings provide fundamental insights into the excited-state dynamics of Sb^(3+)in CaS NCs,thus laying a foundation for future design of novel and versatile luminescent nanoprobes via main-group ns2-metal doping. | Chunguang Zhang Meiran Zhang Wei Zheng Jiaojiao Wei Shiteng Wang Ping Huang Xingwen Cheng Tao Dai Zhuo Chen Xueyuan Chen | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,1: | 3 |

| 19 | Au-Pd/mesoporous Fe_2O_3:Highly active photocatalysts for the visible-light-driven degradation of acetone显示文摘Three-dimensionally ordered mesoporous Fe_2O_3(meso-Fe_2O_3) and its supported Au, Pd,and Au-Pd alloy(xA uP dy/meso-Fe_2O_3; x = 0.08–0.72 wt.%; Pd/Au molar ratio(y) = 1.48–1.85)photocatalysts have been prepared via the KIT-6-templating and polyvinyl alcohol-protected reduction routes, respectively. Physical properties of the samples were characterized, and their photocatalytic activities were evaluated for the photocatalytic oxidation of acetone in the presence of a small amount of H_2O_2 under visible-light illumination. It was found that the meso-Fe_2O_3 was rhombohedral in crystal structure. The as-obtained samples displayed a high surface area of 111.0–140.8 m^2/g and a bandgap energy of 1.98–2.12 eV. The Au, Pd and/or Au–Pd alloy nanoparticles(NPs) with a size of 3–4 nm were uniformly dispersed on the surface of the meso-Fe_2O_3 support. The 0.72 wt.% AuP d1.48/meso-Fe_2O_3 sample performed the best in the presence of 0.06 mol/L H_2O_2 aqueous solution, showing a 100% acetone conversion within4 hr of visible-light illumination. It was concluded that the good performance of 0.72 wt.%AuPd_(1.48)/meso-Fe_2O_3 for photocatalytic acetone oxidation was associated with its ordered mesoporous structure, high adsorbed oxygen species concentration, plasmonic resonance effect between AuPd_(1.48) NPs and meso-Fe_2O_3, and effective separation of the photogenerated charge carriers.
