| 1 | Morphological evolution of γ'precipitates in a nickel-based superalloy during various solution treatments显示文摘The morphological evolution of the γ' phase in nickel-based superalloy жc6y during various solution heat treatments was investigated. The significant changes of the γ' precipitates were observed in the solution-treated samples. The coarsening and dissolution of γ' phase simulta-neously occurred at intermediate temperatures. In some areas, the primary precipitates became blunt and the adjacent ones were intercon-nected with each other via a diffuse neck, indicating a coarsening process of the primary γ' population. The coarsening was dominated by the precipitate agglomeration mechanism (PAM) rather than by the well-known Ostwald ripening mechanism. In other areas, the partial dissolu-tion of the γ' precipitates began to occur, spreading gradually from dendrite cores to interdendritic regions. In addition, a flower-like γ' struc-ture was developed during the subsolvus solution treatments. | 3 | Features of a rare advection-radiation fog event显示文摘To investigate effects of atmospheric pollutants on fog nature, a comprehensive in situ observation project was implemented in the northern suburb of Nanjing, in December of 2006. For December 24-27 there occurred a heavy fog lasting 4 d in succession. This event is of rare characteristics, namely long persistence, high concentration, tall fog top, acid fog water and explosive growth. Detailed analysis along with the causes of the fog was presented. The evidence suggests that the fog was generated by nighttime radiative cooling, maintained and developed under effects of warm, wet advection. | 7 | Study on the performance of TEG with heat transfer enhancement using graphene-water nanofluid for a TEG cooling system显示文摘Improvement of the heat transfer effect of cold side of a thermoelectric generator(TEG) is one of the approaches to enhance the performance of the TEG systems.As a new type of heat transfer media,nanofluids can enhance the heat transfer performance of working liquid significantly.In this study,the performance of a commercial TEG with graphene-water(GW) nanofluid as coolants in a minichannel heat exchanger is investigated experimentally at low temperatures.The results show that the output power of TEG increases with the flow rate under 950 mL/min.However,the fluid flow rate has no influence on the output power of TEG with higher flow rate(larger than 950 mL/min) when the heat transfer dynamic balance state of the system is reached.The optimal concentration and flow rate of nanofluid are 0.1 wt%and 950 mL/min,respectively.At the optimal conditions,the improved voltage,output power and conversion efficiency with GW nanofluid applied in the cooling system are increased by11.29%,21.55%and 3.5%in comparison with those with only water applied,respectively. | LI YiHuai WU ZiHua XIE HuaQing XING JiaoJiao MAO JianHui WANG Yuan Yuan LI Zhen | 2017 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2017,60,8: | 5 |

| 9 | Landscape changes have greater effects than climate changes on six insect pests in China显示文摘In recent years, global changes are the major causes of frequent, widespread outbreaks of pests in mosaic landscapes, which have received substantial attention worldwide. We collected data on global changes(landscape and climate) and economic damage caused by six main insect pests during 1951–2010 in China. Landscape changes had significant effects on all six insect pests. Pest damage increased significantly with increasing arable land area in agricultural landscapes. However, climate changes had no effect on damage caused by pests, except for the rice leaf roller(Cnaphalocrocis medinalis Guenee) and armyworm(Mythimna separate(Walker)), which caused less damage to crops with increasing mean temperature. Our results indicate that there is slight evidence of possible offset effects of climate changes on the increasing damage from these two agricultural pests. Landscape changes have caused serious outbreaks of several species, which suggests the possibility of the use of landscape design for the control of pest populations through habitat rearrangement. | 10 | Agonistic AT_1 Receptor Autoantibody Increases in Serum of Patients with Refractory Hypertension and Improves Ca^(2+) Mobilization in Cultured Rat Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells显示文摘Agonistic AT1 receptor autoantibodies (AT1-AAs) have been described in the patients with malignant hypertension or preeclampia. Furthermore, AT1-AAs were highly associated with refractory hypertension. Function of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) is important in the regulation of blood pressure. We investigated and compared the ability of angiotensin II (Ang II) and AT1-AAs to stimulate the intracellular calcium mobilization and cellular proliferation of rat VSMCs. Twenty-two patients with refractory hypertension, 24 patients with non-refractory hypertension and 37 normotensives were recruited. The serum of each patient was detected for the presence of AT1-AAs by ELISA. Ang II and the AT1-AAs from the sera of patients were used to stimulate rat VSMCs in vitro. AT1-AAs were detected in 10/22, 3/24 and 3/37 of patients with refractory hypertension, non-refractory hypertension and normotensives, respectively. AT1-AAs led the increase intracellular calcium mobilization in a dose-dependent manner and cellular proliferation of VSMCs just as Ang II. Both of these effects caused by AT1-AAs were blocked with losartan or a peptide corresponding to a part of the second extracellular loop of AT1 receptor. Since AT1-AAs exhibited pharmacological activity in rat VSMCs just as Ang II, they might play a role in the elevation of peripheral vascular resistance and in vascular remodeling. | 13 | Solute redistribution and micromechanical properties of rapidly solidified multicomponent Ni-based alloys显示文摘The solute trapping effect and microhardness enhancement of quaternary Ni-5%Cu-5%Ag-5%Sn and quinary Ni-5%Cu-5%Ag-5%Sn-5%Ge alloys during rapid dendritic solidification are investigated by glass fluxing technique. In these two alloys, the experimental maximum undercoolings of 310 K(0.18 T_L) and 220 K(0.13 T_L) have been achieved and the rapidly solidified microstructures are composed of α(Ni) and(Ag) solid solution phases. The morphological transition from coarse dendrite into equiaxed structure is observed for α(Ni) phase with the increase of undercooling. The dendritic growth velocity of α(Ni) phase in quaternary Ni-5%Cu-5%Ag-5%Sn alloy is larger than that in quinary Ni-5%Cu-5%Ag-5%Sn-5%Ge alloy, which increases firstly and then decreases with the enhancement of bulk undercooling. The Vickers hardness of α(Ni) phase in these two alloys is enhanced with the increase of undercooling, which is attributed mainly to the grain refinement effect. Meanwhile, the solute trapping effect of Cu, Sn and Ge elements in the α(Ni) phase also contributes to the microhardness enhancement under large undercoolings. | 15 | Identifying EGFR-Expressed Cells and Detecting EGFR Multi-Mutations at Single-Cell Level by Microfluidic Chip显示文摘EGFR mutations companion diagnostics have been proved to be crucial for the efficacy of tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeted cancer therapies. To uncover multiple mutations occurred in minority of EGFR-mutated cells,which may be covered by the noises from majority of unmutated cells, is currently becoming an urgent clinical requirement. Here we present the validation of a microfluidic-chip-based method for detecting EGFR multimutations at single-cell level. By trapping and immunofluorescently imaging single cells in specifically designed silicon microwells, the EGFR-expressed cellswere easily identified. By in situ lysing single cells, the cell lysates of EGFR-expressed cells were retrieved without cross-contamination. Benefited from excluding the noise from cells without EGFR expression, the simple and cost-effective Sanger's sequencing, but not the expensive deep sequencing of the whole cell population, was used to discover multi-mutations. We verified the new method with precisely discovering three most important EGFR drugrelated mutations from a sample in which EGFR-mutated cells only account for a small percentage of whole cell population. The microfluidic chip is capable of discovering not only the existence of specific EGFR multi-mutations,but also other valuable single-cell-level information: on which specific cells the mutations occurred, or whether different mutations coexist on the same cells.
