3Molecular characterization of Cryptosporidium xiaoi in goat kids in Bangladesh by nested PCR amplification of 18S rRNA gene显示文摘Objective:To investigate the prevalence of Cryptosporidium spp.in goat kids in selected areas of Bangladesh and to elucidate the potential zoonotic hazards.Methods:In the present study,we have used Ziehl-Neelsen staining and nested PCR approach to identify and characterize the Cryptosporidium sp.from diarrhoeic feces of goat kids.A total of 100 diarrhoeic feces samples were collected from Chittagong region in Southern Bangladesh.For nested PCR analysis,specific primers for amplification of 581 base pair fragments of 18 S rRNA gene were used.Results:A total of 15%and 3%samples were found positive in microscopic study and in nested PCR analysis respectively.Phylogenetic analysis of sequence data showed similarity with that of Cryptosporidium xiaoi recorded from sheep and goat.Conclusions:To our knowledge,this is the first report of Cryptosporidium xiaoi responsible for diarrhoea in goat kids in Bangladesh.Further study can highlight their zoonotic significance along with genetic diversity in other host species inside the country.AMAM Zonaed Siddiki Sohana Akter Mina Zinat Farzana Bibi Ayesa Rasel Das Mohammad Alamgir Hossain 2015Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2015,5,3:1
4Relationship between quality of professional life and organizational commitment in intensive care unit nurses显示文摘Objective:The quality of professional life has attracted the attention of many managers owing to its importance,and organizational commitment differs according to work conditions in an organization.As the largest professional group in the healthcare system,nurses face many stressful factors that can endanger their quality of professional life and organizational commitment.Despite their huge importance,these 2 variables have rarely been addressed or evaluated in the nursing profession.The present study was conducted to determine the relationship between quality of professional life and organizational commitment in nurses working in the intensive care units(ICUs)and critical care units(CCUs).Methods:The present descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 221 nurses working in the ICUs of hospitals affiliated to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and selected through proportional stratified sampling.The data collection tools comprised demographic questionnaires,the quality of work-life questionnaire by Walton with 8 dimensions,and the valid and reliable organizational commitment scale by Meyer and Allen.The data were analyzed in SPSS,version 23(IBM Corporation,Armonk,New York,United States),using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques,including Spearman correlation,Pearson correlation,the Kruskal-Wallis test,the Mann-Whitney U test,the c2 test,and the independent t test.P<0.050 was set as the level of statistical significance.Results:The mean scores of quality of professional life and organizational commitment were 58.996±14.427 and 93.840±13.900,respectively,in the ICU nurses.The Pearson test showed positive and significant relationships between quality of professional life and organizational commitment(r=0.392,P<0.001).Conclusions:Given the positive relationship found in the present study between organizational commitment and quality of professional life,it is recommended that organizational commitment be modified to improve the quality of professional life in nurses.Mahboobeh Magharei Zinat Mohebbi Soheila Jafari 2021Frontiers of Nursing2021,8,4:0
5Next-generation blockchain enabled smart grid: Conceptual framework, keytechnologies and industry practices review显示文摘Technological advancements in smart grid energy systems (SGESs) are introducing sustainable frameworksto meet the demand for the fourth industrial energy revolution. These frameworks are planned to be usedin the forthcoming future to maintain the energy network operation with optimization, energy trading, gridautomation, and so on. Blockchain (BCn), developing after passing a diverse period of the research journey,comes to the mind of researchers and its integration in SGES paves the way to reach the goal of energydemand. However, still of interest is ongoing in the improvement of BCn features which can be regarded asthe next-generation blockchain framework. This paper exhibits the technical framework of the next-generationBCn framework and explores its benefits and challenges in performing the emerging aspects of SGES. Thisframework enables some advanced features for the sustainable operation of SGES like smart metering, peer-topeer (P2P) energy trading, self-operation, and transparency. The technical explanation of this BCn technologyestablished on essential features and requisites is also presented in this paper from various points of viewwhich include smart mechanism, intelligent storage system, and interoperability. We also highlight the recentprogress and limitations of the current BCn framework in SGES. Finally, some challenges towards integratingthe next-generation BCn technology in SGES are reported. 6Towards electric digital twin grid: Technology and framework review显示文摘The major hindrances in the energy system are ecological consciousness, lack of clean and sustainableenergy management, insufficient energy distribution–transmission–optimization, expensive power transfercosts, and increased customer knowledge of energy charges. Thus why, universal access to the grid with highcybersecurity, and reliability is needed to solve all these challenges. The digital twin concept turns a newdimension of technology into the world. Electric Digital Twin grid can perform online analysis of the grid inreal-time and integrates all the past and present data and express the current grid status to the producers andconsumers and also predicts the future grid status. Thus, the power grid transmission loss and location of theoverheated line and power connection missing can be detected in addition decision-making and self-healingcan possible. The future prediction saves the power grid from small to long accidents such as power outagesand even blackout problems. The whole consumers and nation feel relief from these types of accidents andsaves from large economic and business loss. The blockchain-enabled digital twin grid provides high securityfor the grid from cyberattacks. 7Reservoir volume optimization and performance evaluation of rooftop catchment systems in arid regions: A case study of Birjand, Iran显示文摘This study evaluated the performance of rooftop catchment systems in securing non-potable water supply in Birjand, located in an arid area in southeastern Iran. The rooftop catchment systems at seven study sites of different residential buildings were simulated for dry, normal, and wet water years, using 31-year rainfall records. The trial and error approach and mass diagram method were employed to optimize the volume of reservoirs in five different operation scenarios. Results showed that, during the dry water year from 2000 to 2001, for reservoirs with volumes of 200-20000 L, the proportion of days that could be secured for non-portable water supply was on average computed to be 16.4%-32.6% across all study sites. During the normal water year from 2009 to 2010 and the wet water year from 1995 to 1996, for reservoirs with volumes of 200-20000 L, the proportions were 20.8%-69.6% and 26.8%-80.3%, respectively. Therefore, a rooftop catchment system showed a high potential to meet a significant portion of non-potable water demand in the Birjand climatic region. Reservoir volume optimization using the mass diagram method produced results consistent with those obtained with the trial and error approach, except at sites #1, #2, and #5. At these sites, the trial and error approach performed better than the mass diagram method due to relatively high water consumption.
