| 2 | Modeling of microstructural evolution during dynamic recrystallization in coarse Nb microalloyed austenite显示文摘The aim of the current study was to investigate the microstructural evolution during dynamic recrystallization in coarse Nb microalloyed austenite in thin slab direct rolling (TSDR) processing. A model was developed to predict the change of the austenite grain size during the dynamic recrystallization, by using the law of mixtures. The equations initially developed for partial static recrystallization were used for partial dynamic recrystallization, by adjusting the value of the constant. | 3 | Anchimetamorphism of the Neoproterozoic and the Lower Paleozoic along the Profile of Yuanguping in Western Hunan Province, China显示文摘The Neoproterozoic and Lower Paleozoic along the profile of Yuanguping in western Hunan Province,China underwent anchimetamorphism. The illite crystallinity (IC) of the <2 μm fractions ranges from 0.23-0.34°△2θfor the Neoproterozoic to 0.23-0.35°△2θ for the Lower Paleozoic (calibrated with the Kisch IC set, Kisch, 1991). This indicates that the metamorphic grade of the Neoproterozoic and Lower Paleozoic is the anchizone. The peak metamorphic temperature is estimated to be 290-210°C. This result does not agree with the greenschist or subgreenschist facies of the Banxi Group, nor with the lower-greenschist facies or sedimentary cover of the Sinian to Lower Paleozoic, as most previous researchers thought. The illite (K-mica) b0 values range from 0.9074 to 0.8963 (nm)for the Neoproterozoic and the Lower Paleozoic. Based on cumulative frequency curves of the illite (K-mica) b0, the peak metamorphic pressure of the Banxi Group was derived to be of a type that is slightly higher than that of the N. New Hampshire low-intermediate pressure type. Most illites occur as the 2M1 polytype and some in the Neoproterozoic as a mixture of the 2M1+1M types. The distributions of coherent scanning domains (CSDs) of illites along the profile,measured with the XRD method, display a lognormal model and spread out with decreasing Kubler Index of IC. It indicates that illites underwent an Ostwald ripening. The post-anchimetamorphic structural movement not only results in a series of faults but also induces the lattice strain in minerals along the faults and hence impacts the illite crystallinity and Causes diagenetic samples to occur within the anchizone. | 4 | Effect of Nb on the transformation kinetics of low carbon(manganese) steel during deformation of undercooled austenite显示文摘The hot compression tests using Gleeble 1500 were performed by varying the true strain up to 1.6 (80% reduction) in Nb-free and Nb-microalloyed steels. The effect of Nb addition on the transformation kinetics during deformation of undercooled austenite was investigated. It was found that as compared with Nb-free steel,the transformation incubation period of Nb-bearing steel was pro-longed and the transformation kinetics curves parallelly moved to higher strain because of the solute Nb drag effect. Studies on kinetics also showed that the deformation-enhanced ferrite transformation (DEFT) of the two steels were composed of three stages,which can be expressed by the J-M-A equations individually. | 6 | Investigation on laser cladding of MoSi_2 powder on steel显示文摘The feasibility of the fabrication of coatings for elevated-temperature structural applications by laser cladding MoSi2 pow- der on steel was investigated. A dense and crack-free fine coating, well-bonded with the substrate has been obtained by this technique. This coating consists of FeMoSi, Fe2Si and a small amount of Mo5Si3 due to dilution of the substrate in the coating. The microstruc- ture of the coating is characterized of typical fine dendrites. The dendrites are composed of FeMoSi primary phase, and the interden- dritic areas are two eutectic phases of FeMoSi and Fe2Si. | 7 | Phase Relations in TiAl+Nb System显示文摘The microstructures and phases of ternary TiAl+Nb alloys containing 50-60 at.-%Al, 0-21 at.-%Nb have been studied using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray powder diffraction. The phases present in the alloys and their distribution were found to be a sensitive function of composition. The phase relations between γ-TiAl and γ1 (a new ordered ternary intermetallic compound based on γ-TiAl) were determined. Essentially single γ phase was determined for alloys with relativety low Nb content (≤10 at.-%Nb). the γ1 phase was determined to exist in the composition range containing higher Nb contents (15-21 at.-%Nb). Between γ and γ1 phases, with intermediate Nb contents there is a transitional phase γ1 (a superstructure of γ-TiAl). As for the influence of Al concentration on the phase relations. the γ1 phase was inclined to form in the alloys with relatively high Al contents. | 10 | Characteristics of microstructural evolution during deformation-enhanced ferrite transformation in Nb-microalloyed HSLA steel显示文摘Microstructure evolution during deformation of undercooled austenite at 760°C was investigated in Nb-microalloyed steel by using SEM (scanning electron microscope), TEM (transmission electron microscope), and EBSD (electron backscattered diffrac- tion). It is indicated that during deformation-enhanced ferrite transformation (DEFT) in Nb-microalloyed steel, the incubation period is prolonged, and the higher strain is needed to accomplish ferrite transformation. Therefore, the transformation kinetics curves move to high strain parallelly; and the transformation kinetics curves of Nb-microalloyed steel can be divided into three stages. At the first stage, the solute drag effect of Nb and the consumption of strain energy for the dynamic precipitation of Nb(CN) led to a long incubation period, and at the second stage, ferrite transformation was accelerated significantly and fine Nb(CN) precipitates restrict the grain growth of ferrite effectively.
