1Invasive mechanism and management strategy of Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius) biotype B:Progress report of 973 Program on invasive alien species in China显示文摘Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius) biotype B,called a 'superbug',is one of the most harmful biotypes of this species complex worldwide.In this report,the invasive mechanism and management of B.tabaci biotype B,based on our 5-year studies,are presented.Six B.tabaci biotypes,B,Q,ZHJ1,ZHJ2,ZHJ3 and FJ1,have been identified in China.Biotype B dominates the other biotypes in many regions of the country.Genetic diversity in biotype B might be induced by host plant,geographical conditions,and/or insecticidal application.The activities of CarE(carboxylesterase) and GSTs(glutathione-S-transferase) in biotype B reared on cucumber and squash were greater than on other host plants,which might have increased its resistance to insecticides.The higher activities of detoxification enzymes in biotype B might be induced by the secondary metabolites in host plants.Higher adaptive ability of biotype B adults to adverse conditions might be linked to the expression of heat shock protein genes.The indigenous B.tabaci biotypes were displaced by the biotype B within 225 d.The asymmetric mating interactions and mutualism between biotype B and begomoviruses via its host plants speed up widespread invasion and displacement of other biotypes.B.tabaci biotype B displaced Trialeurodes vaporariorum(Westwood) after 4-7 generations under glasshouse conditions.Greater adaptive ability of the biotype B to adverse conditions and its rapid population increase might be the reasons of its successful displacement of T.vaporariorum.Greater ability of the biotype B to switch to different host plants may enrich its host plants,which might enable it to better compete with T.vaporariorum.Native predatory natural enemies possess greater ability to suppress B.tabaci under field conditions.The kairomones in the 3rd and 4th instars of biotype B may provide an important stimulus in host searching and location by its parasitoids.The present results provide useful information in explaining the mechanisms of genetic diversity,evolution and molecular eco-adaptation of biotype B.Furthermore,it provides a base for sustainable management of B.tabaci using biological and ecological measures.WAN FangHao1,ZHANG GuiFen1,LIU ShuSheng2,LUO Chen3,CHU Dong4,ZHANG YouJun4,ZANG LianSheng2,JIU Min2,Lü ZhiChuang1,CUI XuHong1,ZHANG LiPing4,ZHANG Fan3,ZHANG QingWen5,LIU WanXue1,LIANG Pei5,LEI ZhongRen1 & ZHANG YongJun1 1 State Key Laboratory for Biology of Plant Diseases and Insect Pests,Institute of Plant Protection,Chinese Acadeny of Agriculture Sciences,Beijing 100094,China 2 Institute of Applied Entomology,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310029,China 3 Institute of Plant and Environment Protection,Beijing Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences,Beijing 100089,China 4 Institute of Vegetables and Flowers,Chinese Acadeny of Agricullare Sciences,Beijing 100081,China 5 Department of Entomology,China Agriculture University,Beijing 100094,China 2009Science China(Life Sciences)2009,52,1:30
2五个月短程化疗及六个月全程间歇方案治疗菌阳肺结核的临床对照研究显示文摘目的考核利福喷丁(L)的疗效;缩短疗程或全程间歇以减少用药次数;观察全程应用吡嗪酰胺(Z)对疗效及毒副反应的影响。方法以利福平(R)为对照,采用5个月疗程方案(Ⅰ组2SHRZ/3R2H2Z2,Ⅱ组2SHRZ/3L1H2Z2)、6个月全间歇方案(Ⅲ组2S3H3R3Z3/4L1H2Z2,Ⅳ组2S3H3R3Z3/4L1H2E2),观察Z的全程应用结果,巩固期以乙胺丁醇(E)为对照。366例初治菌阳肺结核随机分入以上4组。结果(1)339例完成疗程者中329例治疗成功,满疗程时痰菌阴转率Ⅰ~Ⅳ组分别为970%、941%、1000%、972%。X线病灶有效率依序为960%、976%、1000%和944%。5个月组与6个月组空洞关闭率分别为77%及76%。各组相互比较均无显著性差异(P>0.05),未见严重副作用。(2)305例完成3年随访,Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ组细菌学加X线复发分别为2、3、6和3例。结论本研究结果进一步证明L是长效、高效、安全、便于督导的新药;巩固期用Z无必要;现有基本药物合理联用有可能缩短疗程为5个月,值得进一步研究。National Cooperative Group On Clinical Study of Pulmonary Tuberculosis (Report prepared by Chu Naihui , Yan Biya, Zhu Lizhen). Beijing Tuberculosis and Thoracic Tumor Institute, Beijing 101149 1998中华结核和呼吸杂志1998,21,7:26
3A novel gene delivery system targeting cells expressing VEGF receptors显示文摘Two ligand oligopeptides GV1 and GV2 were designed according to the putative binding region of VEGF to its receptors. GV1, GV2 and endosome releasing oligopeptide HA20 were conjugated with poly-L-lysine or protamine and the resulting conjugates could interact with DNA in a noncovalent bond to form a complex. Using pSV2-β-galactosidase as a reporter gene, it has been demonstrated that exogenous gene was transferred into bovine aortic arch-derived endothelial cells (ABAE) andhuman malignant melanoma cell lines (A375) in vitro. In vivo experiments, exogenous gene was transferred into tumor vascular endothelial cells and tumor cells of subcutaneously transplanted human colon cancer LOVO, human malignant melanoma A375 and human hepatoma graft in nude mice. This system could also target gene to intrahepatically transplanted human hepatoma injected via portal vein in nude mice. 4Variations of sulfur and carbon isotopes in seawater during the Doushantuo stage in late Neoproterozoic显示文摘Successive analyses of sulfur and carbon isotopic compositions of carbonates strata in the Doushantuo Formation in the Yangtze area were accomplished through a method of extracting trace sulfate from carbonates. Sulfur and carbon isotopic compositions of coeval seawater were estimated from the samples that show the least diagenetic alteration. A high-resolution age curve of sulfur isotopes in seawater sulfates was obtained in the Doushantuo stage, which reflects the trend of variation in seawater sulfur isotopes after the Neoproterozoic snowball Earth event. Similar characteristics of variation in carbon isotopes were observed in the coeval carbonates. A large positive d 34S excursion over +20?occurs in ancient seawater sulfates in the early Doushantuo stage. Simultaneously, the d 13C values in ancient seawater carbonates exhibit a positive excursion up to 10. The maximum d 34S and d 13C values are +46.4 and +6.9? respectively. In the middle Doushantuo stage, the range of variation in d 34S values of seawater is relatively narrow, but d 13C values are quite high. Then, d 34S values of seawater become oscillating, and the same occurs in d 13C values. Negative excursions in d 34S and d 13C values occur simultaneously at the end of the Doushantuo stage, and the minimum d 34S and d 13C values dropped down to -10.1 and -5.7? respectively. The characteristics of variations in the sulfur and carbon isotopes of ancient seawater imply strong changes in oceanic environment that became beneficial to inhabitation and propagation of organism. The organic productivity and burial rate of organic carbon once reached a quite high level during the Doushantuo stage. However, the state of environment became unstable after the global glaciation. The global climate and environment possibly were fluctuating and reiterating. 5Effect of powder mixing process on the microstructure and thermal conductivity of Al/diamond composites fabricated by spark plasma sintering显示文摘Two powder mixing processes, mechanical mixing (MM) and mechanical alloying (MA), were used to prepare mixed Al/diamond powders, which were subsequently consolidated using spark plasma sintering (SPS) to produce bulk Al/diamond composites. The effects of the powder mixing process on the morphologies of the mixed powders, the microstructure and the thermal conductivity of the composites were investigated. The results show that the powder mixing process can significantly affect the microstructure and the thermal conductivity of the composites. Agglomerations of the particles occurred in mixed powders using MM for 30 min, which led to high pore content and weak interfacial bonding in the composites and resulted in low relative density and low thermal conductivity for the composites. Mixed powders of homogeneous distribution of diamond particles could be obtained using MA for 10 min and MM for 2 h. The composite prepared through MA indicated a high relative density but low thermal conductivity due to its defects, such as damaged particles, Fe impurity, and local interfacial debonding, which were mainly introduced in the MA process. 6Preparation, characterization and salt-resistance of a coal based super absorbent composite显示文摘Potassium humate was extracted from brown coal. A novel super absorbent composite, poly (acrylic acid-co-acryla-mide)/potassium humate (PAA-AM/KHA), was prepared by graft polymerization of acrylic acid, acrylamide and coal based potas-sium humate using N, N’-methylenebisacrylamide as a crosslinker and potassium peroxydisulfate as an initiator. The effects of reaction temperature, degree of neutralization of the poly (acrylic acid) and the amounts of crosslinker, initiator and potassium hu-mate were investigated. Salt resistance tests were also carried out. The composite prepared under optimal conditions had a potas-sium humate content of 10% and exhibited a water absorption of 770 g/g in distilled water, and 349, 286 and 41 g/g in 0.5 mol/L KCl, MgCl2 and AlCl3 solutions respectively. The results indicate that the salt resistance of PAA-AM/KHA was superior to that of poly (acrylic acid-co-acrylamide) because of the collaborative effect of functional groups of the coal based potassium humate. The PAA-AM/KHA micro powder was characterized by IR spectroscopy and the micrographic surface was characterized by scanning electron microscopy. Introduction of potassium humate into the poly (acrylic acid-co-acrylamide) structure creates a composite more suitable for use as a water-managing material in the renewal of arid and desert environments. 7Carbon isotopic variations of Proterozoic carbonates in Jixian, Tianjin, China显示文摘Along the Proterozoic stratigraphic sections of Jixian, Tianjin, the ??13C values of carbonates are mostly negative in the Changchengian (Changcheng System), varying approximately within a range of (0±1)‰ in the Jixianian (Jixian System), and have commonly positive values of (2±2)‰ in the Qingbaikouan (Qingbaikou System). From Chuanlinggou Formation to Dahongyu Formation, i.e. from ca. 1700 Ma to 1600 Ma, the δ13C values of carbonates increase from about -3‰ to 0‰, but oscillate with large excursion in Dahongyu Formation. Two large excursions occur in the Jixianian, one in Yangzhuang Formation and the other in the third submember of Wumishan Formation overlaying. These integrated and continuous records of carbon isotope reflect secular variations of δ13C value in ancient seawater from ca. 1700 Ma to ca. 800 Ma. 8Is inconsistency of α-fetoprotein level a good prognosticator for hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence?显示文摘AIM: To identify the clinical outcomes of hepato-cellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with inconsistent α-fetoprotein (AFP) levels which were initially high and then low at recurrence.METHODS: We retrospectively included 178 patients who underwent liver resection with high preoperative AFP levels (≥ 200 ng/dL). Sixty-nine HCC patients had recurrence during follow-up and were grouped by their AFP levels at recurrence: group Ⅰ, AFP ≤ 20 ng/dL (n = 16); group Ⅱ, AFP 20-200 ng/dL (n = 24); and group Ⅲ, AFP ≥ 200 ng/dL (n = 29). Their preoperative clinical characteristics, accumulated recurrence rate, and recurrence-to-death survival rate were compared. Three patients, one in each group, underwentliver resection twice for primary and recurrent HCC. AFP immunohistochemistry of primary and recurrent HCC specimens were examined.RESULTS: In this study, 23% of patients demon-strated normal AFP levels at HCC recurrence. The AFP levels in these patients were initially high. There were no significant differences in clinical characteristics between the three groups except for the mean recur-rence interval (21.8 ± 14.6, 12.3 ± 7.7, 8.3 ± 6.6 mo, respectively, P < 0.001) and survival time (40.2 ± 19.9, 36.1 ± 22.4, 21.9 ± 22.0 mo, respectively, P = 0.013). Tumor size > 5 cm, total bilirubin > 1.2 mg/dL, vessel invasion, Child classification B, group Ⅲ, and recurrence interval < 12 mo, were risk factors for survival rate. Cox regression analysis was performed and vessel invasion, group Ⅲ, and recurrence interval were independent risk factors. The recurrence inter-val was significant longer in group Ⅰ (P < 0.001). The recurrence-to-death survival rate was significantly bet-ter in group Ⅱ (P = 0.016). AFP staining was strong in the primary HCC specimens and was reduced at recur-rence in group Ⅰ specimens.CONCLUSION: Patients in group Ⅰ with inconsistent AFP levels had a longer recurrence interval and worse recurrence-to-death survival rate than those in group Ⅱ. Much is needed to investigate including processing technlogy, plasma sheath dynamics, interaction of plasma and surface, etc. Of the processing methods elavated temperature technique is usually used in PIII to produce a thick modified layer by means of the thermal diffusion. 10Ni supported on activated carbon as catalyst for flue gas desulfurization显示文摘A series of Ni supported on activated carbon are prepared by excessive impregnation and the desulfurization activity is investigated. It has been shown that the activated carbon-supported Ni is an efficient solid catalyst for flue gas desulfurization. The activated carbon treated by HNO3 exhibits high desulfurization activity, and different amounts of loaded-Ni on activated carbon significantly influence the desulfurization activity. The catalysts are studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results of XRD and XPS indicate that the activated carbon treated by HNO3 can increase oxygen-containing functional groups. 12Expressions of cellular retinoic acid binding proteins I and retinoic acid receptor-β in the guinea pig eyes with experimental myopia显示文摘·AIM:All-trans retinoic acid (RA) is the only extrinsic biochemical candidate known to date that could act as a growth controller,the aim of this study was to investigate the expression cellular retinoic acid binding proteins I (CRABP-I) and retinoic acid receptor-β (RAR-β) in retina of the guinea pig eyes with experimental myopia.·METHODS:Ninety guinea pigs aged 14 days were equally and randomly divided into three groups:form deprivation (FD),-5D lens,and control.The diffusers for FD were white translucent hemispheres,and-5D lenses were used to introduce hyperopic defocus.Refraction was measured with streak retinoscopy after cycloplegia,and axial length was calculated with Cinescan A/B ultrasonography.Retina harvested at different time points were used to measure RA level with HPLC and expressions of cellular retinoic acid binding proteins I (CRABP-I) and RA receptor-β (RAR-β) were assayed with Western blot and Real-time PCR.SPSS13.0 software was used for statistical analysis.·RESULTS:Up-regulations of CRABP-I and RAR-β in ocular tissues correlated with changes in the refractive status and growth rate of the guinea pig eye (P <0.05).14 days of monocular form-deprivation led to-5.14D myopia and a 0.281mm axial elongation;14 days of monocular defocus produced-3.64D myopia and a 0.163 mm axial elongation.The level of retinal RA started to elevate in 7 days (P <0.05) after visual manipulation in both FD and-5D lens groups and became more prominent by 14 days (P <0.01).The expressions of CRABP-I and RAR-β increased by 14 days after visual manipulation (P <0.05),the mRNA level of RAR-β,however,increased by 7 days after visual manipulation (P <0.05),which suggested that changes of expressions of CRABP-I and RAR-β might lag behind the change of RA.·CONCLUSION:The levels of CRABP-I and RAR-β were elevated in retina of the guinea pig eye with experimental myopia.During the progression of experimental myopia,the retinal RA level increased rapidly,and there might be a positive feedback between the increase of RA and up-regulation of RAR-β.·Jia Huang Xiao-Mei Qu and Ren-Yuan Chu 2011International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2011,4,2:10
13Laboratory tests and numerical simulations of brittle marble and squeezing schist at Jinping II hydropower station,China显示文摘Four 16.7 km-long tunnels with diameters ranging from 12.4 to 14.6 m are now under construction at Jinping II hydropower station along the Yalong River.The tunnels pass through Triassic rocks below Jinping Mountain.The tunnels are characterized with high overburden,long alignment and complex geological conditions.Brittle failure in marble and squeezing in schist are the primary problems in tunnelling.This paper introduces the studies of laboratory tests on Jinping II marble as well as numerical prediction of excavation damaged zone (EDZ) of tunnel section in brittle marble and determination of reinforced concrete lining thickness for restraining time-dependent deformation in the schist tunnel section.Laboratory tests indicate that Jinping II marble presents a complex brittle-ductile-plastic transition behavior of post-peak response with increasing confining pressure.Such behavior can be described numerically with the Hoek-Brown model.The EDZ was calibrated and predicted using both fast Lagrangian analysis of continua (FLAC) and particle flow code (PFC).The predicted result of EDZ in sections with different qualities of rock mass under various overburden pressures is quite helpful in understanding EDZ characterization and support design.A power-law creep model was used to support the lining design,especially in determining the lining thickness.Field convergence measurement data over 19 months were used to calibrate the creep model properties,followed by a sensibility analysis of reinforced concrete lining thickness that was launched to present the maximum lining compressive stress.Chunsheng Zhang,Weijiang Chu,Ning Liu,Yongsheng Zhu,Jing Hou East China Investigation and Design Institute,China Hydropower Engineering Consulting Group Co.,Hangzhou,310014,China 2011Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2011,3,1:10
14PGE patterns of ores of Dajing Cu-polymetallic deposit in Linxi County, Inner Mongolia:Indicator to source of metallogenic elements显示文摘By comparing PGE patterns of sulfide ores with that of basic-ultrabasic dikes occurring in the Dajing Cu-polymetallic deposit, we discover that there are similar positive slopes between the basic-ultrabasic dikes and the black ores composed mainly of sphalerite and galena, reflecting affinity of their source. The PGE patterns of the yellow ores composed basically of chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite and pyrite are actually different. One is close to the pattern of the mantle 1herzolite, and others resemble the pattern of the basic rocks. However, the concentrations of Ru are higher in the yellow ores, reflecting that sulfur attains or approaches saturation in their parent magma. The PGE characteristics of ores and dikes show that the magmas derived from the deep of crust and the metallogenic elements were supplied mainly by growth material of the crust. 15Study of the tolerance of Hippochaete ramosissimum to Cu stress显示文摘We investigated the tolerance of Hippochaete ramosissimum and the changes in physiological metabolism following exposure to copper using pot experiments and analyzing plant physiology and biochemistry. The results showed that Cu tolerance in Hippochaete ramosissimum varied significantly between different populations; the tolerance of plants living in Cu polluted areas for extended periods of time exceeded that of plants living in unpolluted areas.SOD and POD activities in highly Cu tolerant plants increased noticeably following exposure to Cu. This indicates that maintaining and increasing the two kinds of protective enzyme activities are the primary foundations of plant tolerance. However, no change in CAT activity was demonstrated following Cu exposure. 16Oxygen isotope compositions of eclogites in Rongcheng,Eastern China显示文摘Collected from the Rongcheng region, Shan-dong Province, the three types of eclogites suffering the UHP (i.e. ultra-high pressure) metamorphism have obviously dif-ferent oxygen isotope compositions. The eclogites occurring in regional orthogneisses and ultramafic rocks have the oxy-gen isotope compositions of normal eclogites in the world,but the eclogites existing in marbles are extremely enrichedin 18O. By applying oxygen isotope geothermometry, for theall types of eclogites, the temperature estimates of quartz-garnet pair, in principle, indicate the formation temperatures of eclogites, so that the peak-metamorphic temperatures are estimated to be averagely little higher than 800℃, which are consistent with the estimates by using other geothermome-ters according to cation partitioning between coexistingphases. The d 18O values of eclogitic inclusions hosted inmarbles from Yangguantun, Rongcheng region, are farhigher than the values of eclogites (including eclogitic inclu-sions in marbles) from the Dabieshan and other places of the Sulu. 18Effects of Temperature and Atmosphere on Pellets Reduction Swelling Index显示文摘After taking into account the conditions of the domestic iron resources and the non-coking coal resources, the process of coal gasification-shaft furnace is an effective way to develop direct reduction iron in China. The following tasks are very critical to choose suitable process of shaft furnace and gasification, including the production of oxidized pellets with excellent comprehensive properties as well as the study of the reaction behavior and mechanism of swelling. The results showed that the oxidized pellets of using domestic magnetic iron concentrate as raw materials have favorable comprehensive properties, including higher mechanical strength both before and after reduction, faster reduction rate and lower reduction swelling index (RSI). All of these properties can meet the shaft furnace yielding requirement. When the temperature was below 1 223 K, the pellets′ RSI was lower than 20%. With increasing of the content of H2 in atmosphere, the pellets reaction rate accelerated, crushing strength enhanced and RSI decreased. The RSI dropped to 10.26% at 1 323 K in 100% H2 atmosphere, and it is up to 39.88% in 100% CO atmosphere. The iron grains mainly presented in platelike when pellets were reduced by H2, however, in CO atmosphere the iron grains were precipitated in flocculent. The whisker shape of iron grains and heating effects of reduction reaction are the major factors leading to the poor pellets strength and increase of RSI. 19CXCL16 participates in pathogenesis of immunological liver injury by regulating T lymphocyte infiltration in liver tissue显示文摘AIM: To investigate the role of CXCL16 in the pathogenesis of immunological liver injury and to explore the possible mechanism of T lymphocyte infiltration requlated by CXCL16.METHODS: Immunological liver injury in murine model was induced by Bacille Calmette-Guerin and lipopolysaccharide.Expression pattem and distribution of CXCL16 were examined by real-time quantitative RT-PCR and immunohistochemical analysis. Anti-CXCL16 antibody was administrated in vivo to investigate its effect on T-cell recruitment and acute hepatic necrosis. The survival of murine model was also evaluated.RESULTS: The murine immunological liver injury model was successfully established. CXCL16 expression increased and predominantly distributed in periportal areas and vascular endothelia in injured liver tissues. Administration of anti-CXCL16 Ab protected the mice from death and acute liver damage. Approximately 70% of the mice survived for 72 h in the anti-CXCL16 Ab treatment group, whereas 80% died within 72 h in control Ab group. 20Effect of processing parameters on the microstructure and thermal conductivity of diamond/Ag composites fabricated by spark plasma sintering显示文摘Diamond/metal composites with 50 vol.% diamond have been produced by spark plasma sintering(SPS) using pure Ag as a matrix and diamond particles as reinforcement.Three kinds of powder mixing processes were used to prepare the mixture of diamond/Ag powders:dry mixing without milling medium,wet mixing and magnetic blending.Subsequently,they were all consolidated by SPS at various processing parameters to produce bulk diamond/Ag composites.Then samples were heat treated in order to obtain a higher thermal conductivity.The effect of processing parameters on the morphologies of the mixed powders,the microstructure and the thermal conductivity of the composites were investigated by comparing the experimental data.It reveals that particles were easy to agglomerate and the distribution of mixed powders was inhomogeneous by dry mixing method,and wet mixing method is too complex.The most favorable mixing process is magnetic blending by which the powders can be homogenously mixed and the composites prepared by optimized SPS processing parameters can obtain the highest relative density and the best thermal conductivity among the composites prepared by different processes.The magnetic blending diamond/Ag composites even have a 23% increase in thermal conductivity compared with pure silver sintered by SPS.GAO Wenjia,JIA Chengchang,JIA Xian,LIANG Xuebing,CHU Ke,ZHANG Luman,HUANG Hai,and LIU Meng School of Materials Science and Engineering,University of Science and Technology Beijing,Beijing 100083,China 2010Rare Metals2010,29,6:6
