ASYMPTOTIC ERROR EXPANSION AND DEFECT CORRECTION FOR SOBOLEV AND VISCOELASTICITY TYPE EQUATIONS显示文摘In this paper we study the higher accuracy methods-the extrapolation and defect correction for the semidiscrete Galerkin approximations to the solutions of Sobolev and viscoelasticity type equations. The global extrapolation and the correction approximations of third order, rather than the pointwise extrapolation results are presented.Qun Lin Shu-hua Zhang Ning-ning Yan(Institute of Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China) 1998Journal of Computational Mathematics1998,16,1:28
On the Controllability of an Advection-diffusion Equation with Respect to the Diffusion Parameter:Asymptotic Analysis and Numerical Simulations显示文摘The advection-diffusion equation y_t~ε-εy_(xx)~ε+ M y_x~ε= 0,(x, t) ∈(0, 1) ×(0, T) is null controllable for any strictly positive values of the diffusion coefficient ε and of the controllability time T. We discuss here the behavior of the cost of control when the coefficient ε goes to zero, according to the values of T. It is actually known that this cost is uniformly bounded with respect to ε if T is greater than a minimal time T_M, with T_M in the interval [1, 2×3^(1/2)]/M for M > 0 and in the interval [2×2^(1/2), 2(1 +3^(1/2))]/|M | for M < 0. The exact value of TM is however unknown. We investigate in this work the determination of the minimal time T_M employing two distincts but complementary approaches. In a first one, we numerically estimate the cost of controllability, reformulated as the solution of a generalized eigenvalue problem for the underlying control operator, with respect to the parameter T and ε. This allows notably to exhibit the structure of initial data leading to large costs of control. At the practical level, this evaluation requires the non trivial and challenging approximation of null controls for the advection-diffusion equation. In the second approach, we perform an asymptotic analysis, with respect to the parameter ε, of the optimality system associated to the control of minimal L^2-norm. The matched asymptotic expansion method is used to describe the multiple boundary layers.Youcef AMIRAT Arnaud MNCH 2019Acta Mathematicae Applicatae Sinica2019,35,1:18
ASYMPTOTIC NORMALITY OF M-ESTIMATES IN THE EV MODEL显示文摘The M-estimate of parameters in the errors-in-variables (EV) model Y =xτβ0+∈,X =x+u ((∈,uτ)τ is a (p+1)-dimensional spherical error, Coy[(∈, uτ)τ] =σ2Ip+1)being considered. The M-estimate βn,, of β0 under a general ρ(·) function and the estimateof σ2 are given, the strong consistency and asymptotic normality of βn as well as are obtained. The conditions for the ρ(·) function in this paper are similar to that of linearexpression of M-estimates in the linear regression model.CUI Hengjian(Department of Mathematics, Beijing Normal University, Beijing 100875, China) 1997Systems Science and Mathematical Sciences1997,10,3:16
The asymptotic stability of theoretical and numerical solutions for systems of neutral multidelay-differential equations显示文摘The asymptotic stability of theoretical and numerical solutions for neutral multidelay\|differential equations (NMDEs) is dealt with. A sufficient condition on the asymptotic stability of theoretical solutions for NMDEs is obtained. On the basis of this condition, it is proved that A\|stability of the multistep Runge\|Kutta methods for ODEs is equivalent to NGP\- k \|stability of the induced methods for NMDEs.张诚坚 周叔子 1998Science China Mathematics1998,41,11:16

Asymptotic enumeration theorems for the numbers of spanning trees and Eulerian trails in circulant digraphs and graphs显示文摘The asymptotic properties of the numbers of spanning trees and Eulerian trails in circulant digraphs and graphs are studied. Let C(p, s1, s2,…, sk) be a directed cireulant graph. Let T(C(p, s1, s2, …, sk)) and E(C(p, s1, s2, …, sk)) be the numbers of spanning trees and of Eulerian trails, respectively. Then lim (1/k)(T(C(p, s1, S2, …, sk))1/p)=1, p→∞ lim (1/k!)(E(C(p, s1, s2, …, sk))1/p)=1,Furthermore, their line digraph and iterations are dealt with and similar results are obtained for undirected circulant graphs.张福基 永学荣 1999Science China Mathematics1999,42,3:13

One-step estimation for varying coefficient models显示文摘A one-step method is proposed to estimate the unknown functions in the varying coefficient models, in which the unknown functions admit different degrees of smoothness. In this method polynomials of different orders are used to approximate unknown functions with different degrees of smoothness. As only one minimization operation is employed, the required computation burden is much less than that required by the existing two-step estimation method. It is shown that the one-step estimators also achieve the optimal convergence rate. Moreover this property is obtained under conditions milder than that imposed in the two-step estimation method. More importantly, as only one minimization operation is employed, the full asymptotic properties, not only the asymptotic bias and variance, but also the asymptotic distributions of the estimators can be derived. The asymptotic distribution results will play a key role for making statistical inference.TANG Qingguo & WANG Jinde Department of Mathematics, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210093, China Institute of Sciences, PLA University of Science and Technology, Nanjing 210007, China 2005Science China Mathematics2005,48,2:11
Optimal Harvesting and Stability for a Predator-prey System with Stage Structure显示文摘The dynamics of a predator-prey system, where prey population has two stages, an immature stage and a mature stage with harvesting, the growth of predator population is of Lotka-Volterra nature, are modelled by a system of retarded functional differential equations. We obtain conditions for global asymptotic stability of three nonnegative equilibria and a threshold of harvesting for the mature prey population. The effect of delay on the population at positive equilibrium and the optimal harvesting of the mature prey population are also considered.Xin-yu Song, Lan-sun ChenDepartment of Mathematics. 10Sliding Mode Control with Disturbance Observer for a Class of Nonlinear Systems显示文摘This paper is concerned with the stabilization problem for a class of nonlinear systems with disturbance. The disturbance model is unknown and the first derivative of disturbance is bounded. Firstly, a general disturbance observer is proposed to estimate disturbance approximatively. Secondly, since the bound of the disturbance observer error is unknown, an adaptive sliding mode controller is designed to guarantee that the state of system asymptotically converges to zero and the unknown bound can be adjusted by an adaptive law. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.Lei-Po Liu Zhu-Mu Fu Xiao-Na Song College of Electric and Information Engineering, Henan University of Science and Technology, Luoyang 471003, China 2012International Journal of Automation and computing2012,9,5:11
ASYMPTOTIC BEHAVIOUR OF EIGENVALUES FOR THE DISCONTINUOUS BOUNDARY-VALUE PROBLEM WITH FUNCTIONAL-TRANSMISSION CONDITIONS显示文摘In this study, the boundary-value problem with eigenvalue parameter generated by the differential equation with discontinuous coefficients and boundary conditions which contains not only endpoints of the considered interval, but also point of discontinuity and linear functionals is investigated. So, the problem is not pure boundary-value. The authors single out a class of linear functionals and find simple algebraic conditions on coefficients, which garantee the existence of innnit number eigenvalues. Also the asymptotic formulas for eigenvalues are found.O.Sh.Mukhtarov Department of Mathematics, Science and Arts Faculty, Gaziosmanpasa University, Tokat, TurkeyMustafa Kandemir Department of Mathematics, Faculty of A mas y a Education, Ondokuz Mayis University, Amasya, Turkey 2002Acta Mathematica Scientia2002,22,3:10

Asymptotic state behaviour and its modeling for saturated sand显示文摘A new double hardening elasto-plastic model is proposed in this paper based on the existing unified hardening model (UH model). By assuming that there is part coupling effect between the plastic volumetric strain and plastic shear strain, hardening parameters consisting of a coupled and an uncoupled components are adopted in this model. A unique feature of this model is that it can describe not only the conventional drained and undrained behaviors of soil, but also the stress-strain relationships of soil under partially drained conditions which can be volumetric compression or dilation. Adopting the asymptotic state concept, simple equations for estimating the limiting stress ratio under undrained or earth pressure at rest (i.e. K0) conditions are derived. The new model is relatively simple to be adopted in practice for two reasons. First, the same soil parameters as in Cam-clay model are used except the addition of one extra parameter, the stress ratio at the characteristic state. Second, all the parameters can be determined using conventional triaxial compression tests.LUO Ting YAO YangPing CHU Jian 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,8:10
THE EFFECTS OF EXTERNAL FORCING,DISSIPATION AND NONLINEARITY ON THE SOLUTIONS OF ATMOSPHERIC EQUATIONS显示文摘Based on the primitive equations of the atmosphere,we study the effects of external forcing.dissipation and nonlinearity on the solutions of stationary motion and non-stationary motion.Theresults show that the asymptotic behavior of solutions of the forced dissipative nonlinear system isessentially different from that of the adiabatic non-dissipative system, the adiabatic dissipativesystem, the diabatic non-dissipative system and the diabatic dissipative linear system, and that thejoint action of external forcing, dissipation and nonlinearity is the source of multiple equilibria. From this we can conclude that the important actions of diabatic heating and dissipation must beconsidered in the models of the long-term weather and the climate.李建平 丑纪范 1997Acta meteorologica Sinica1997,11,1:9

Central limit theorem of linear regression model under right censorship显示文摘In this paper, the estimation of joint distribution F(y,z) of (Y, Z) and the estimation in thelinear regression model Y = b′Z + ε for complete data are extended to that of the right censored data. Theregression parameter estimates of b and the variance of ε are weighted least square estimates with randomweights. The central limit theorems of the estimators are obtained under very weak conditions and the derivedasymptotic variance has a very simple form.何书元 黄香 2003Science China Mathematics2003,46,5:7
Asymptotic solution of thermocapillary convection in two immiscible liquid layers in a shallow annular cavity显示文摘The steady laminar two-dimensional thermocapillary convection of two superposed horizontal liquid layers in a shallow annular cavity was investigated using asymptotical analysis. The liquids were supposed to be immiscible with a nondeformable interface. The cavity was heated from the outer cylindrical wall and cooled at the inner wall.Bottom and top surfaces were rigid and adiabatic.Asymptotic solutions were obtained in the core region in the limit as the aspect ratio, which was defined as the ratio of the lower layer thickness to the gap width, and trended to zero. The numerical experiments were also carried out to compare with the asymptotic solution of the steady two-dimensional thermocapillary convection. It is found that the expressions of velocity and temperature fields in the core region are valid in the limit of the small aspect ratio.LI YouRong,WANG ShuangCheng,WU ShuangYing & SHI WanYuan College of Power Engineering,Chongqing University,Chongqing 400044,China 2010Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,6:6
A novel implementation algorithm of asymptotic homogenization for predicting the effective coefficient of thermal expansion of periodic composite materials显示文摘Asymptotic homogenization(AH) is a general method for predicting the effective coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE) of periodic composites. It has a rigorous mathematical foundation and can give an accurate solution if the macrostructure is large enough to comprise an infinite number of unit cells. In this paper, a novel implementation algorithm of asymptotic homogenization(NIAH) is developed to calculate the effective CTE of periodic composite materials. Compared with the previous implementation of AH, there are two obvious advantages. One is its implementation as simple as representative volume element(RVE).The new algorithm can be executed easily using commercial finite element analysis(FEA) software as a black box. The detailed process of the new implementation of AH has been provided. The other is that NIAH can simultaneously use more than one element type to discretize a unit cell, which can save much computational cost in predicting the CTE of a complex structure. Several examples are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the new implementation. This work is expected to greatly promote the widespread use of AH in predicting the CTE of periodic composite materials.Yongcun Zhang Shipeng Shang Shutian Liu 2017Acta Mechanica Sinica2017,33,2:6
Approximation by randomly weighting method in censored regression model显示文摘Censored regression ('Tobit') models have been in common use, and their linear hypothesis testings have been widely studied. However, the critical values of these tests are usually related to quantities of an unknown error distribution and estimators of nuisance parameters. In this paper, we propose a randomly weighting test statistic and take its conditional distribution as an approximation to null distribution of the test statistic. It is shown that, under both the null and local alternative hypotheses, conditionally asymptotic distribution of the randomly weighting test statistic is the same as the null distribution of the test statistic. Therefore, the critical values of the test statistic can be obtained by randomly weighting method without estimating the nuisance parameters. At the same time, we also achieve the weak consistency and asymptotic normality of the randomly weighting least absolute deviation estimate in censored regression model. Simulation studies illustrate that the per-formance of our proposed resampling test method is better than that of central chi-square distribution under the null hypothesis.WANG ZhanFeng WU YaoHua ZHAO LinCheng 2009Science China Mathematics2009,52,3:6
