1Coding metamaterials, digital metamaterials and programmable metamaterials显示文摘Metamaterials are artificial structures that are usually described by effective medium parameters on the macroscopic scale,and these metamaterials are referred to as‘analog metamaterials’.Here,we propose‘digital metamaterials’through two steps.First,we present‘coding metamaterials’that are composed of only two types of unit cells,with 0 and p phase responses,which we name‘0’and‘1’elements,respectively.By coding‘0’and‘1’elements with controlled sequences(i.e.,1-bit coding),we can manipulate electromagnetic(EM)waves and realize different functionalities.The concept of coding metamaterials can be extended from 1-bit coding to 2-bit coding or higher.In 2-bit coding,four types of unit cells,with phase responses of 0,p/2,p,and 3p/2,are required to mimic the‘00’,‘01’,‘10’and‘11’elements,respectively.The 2-bit coding has greater freedom than 1-bit coding for controlling EM waves.Second,we propose a unique metamaterial particle that has either a‘0’or‘1’response controlled by a biased diode.Based on this particle,we present‘digital metamaterials’with unit cells that possess either a‘0’or‘1’state.Using a field-programmable gate array,we realize digital control over the digital metamaterial.By programming different coding sequences,a single digital metamaterial has the ability to manipulate EM waves in different manners,thereby realizing‘programmable metamaterials’.The above concepts and physical phenomena are confirmed through numerical simulations and experiments using metasurfaces.Tie Jun Cui Mei Qing Qi Xiang Wan Jie Zhao Qiang Cheng 2014Light(Science & Applications)2014,3,1:130

5Microwave metamaterials: from exotic physics to novel information systems显示文摘Metamaterials and metasurfaces have attracted much attention due to their powerful ability to control electromagnetic(EM)waves.In this paper,we review the recent developments in the field of EM metamaterials,starting from their exotic physics to their applications in novel information systems.First,we show the fundamental understanding on traditional metamaterials based on the effective medium theory and related applications,such as invisibility cloaks and meta-lenses.Second,we review the two-dimensional versions of metamaterials,i.e.,metasurfaces,for controlling spatial waves and surface waves and thereafter present their typical designs.In particular,we briefly introduce spoof surface plasmon polaritons and their applications in microwave frequencies.Following the above approach,we emphatically present the concepts of digital coding metamaterials,programmable metamaterials,and information metamaterials.By extending the principles of information science to metamaterial designs,several functional devices and information systems are presented,which enable digital and EM-wave manipulations simultaneously.Finally,we give a brief summary of the development prospects for microwave metamaterials.Rui-yuan WU Tie-jun CUI 2020Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2020,21,1:7

8FPGA-based high resolution DPWM control circuit显示文摘Two improved structures of high resolution digital pulse width modulator(DPWM) control circuit are proposed. Embedded digital clock manager(DCM) blocks and digital programmable delay circuits are employed as the basic resources to construct the field-programmable gate array(FPGA)-based DPWM implementations. Detailed schemes are illustrated and the circuits have been successfully implemented on the Artix-7 FPGA device developed by Xilinx. Experimental results show that when the basic clock operates at the frequency of 200 MHz, the resolutions of the two approaches can reach 625 ps and 500 ps, respectively. 12Implementation of encoder and decoder for LDPC codes based on FPGA显示文摘This paper proposes a parallel cyclic shift structure of address decoder to realize a high-throughput encoding and decoding method for irregular-quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check(IR-QC-LDPC)codes,with a dual-diagonal parity structure.A normalized min-sum algorithm(NMSA)is employed for decoding.The whole verification of the encoding and decoding algorithm is simulated with Matlab,and the code rates of 5/6 and 2/3 are selected respectively for the initial bit error ratio as 6%and 1.04%.Based on the results of simulation,multi-code rates are compatible with different basis matrices.Then the simulated algorithms of encoder and decoder are migrated and implemented on the field programmable gate array(FPGA).The 183.36 Mbps throughput of encoder and the average 27.85 Mbps decoding throughput with the initial bit error ratio 6%are realized based on FPGA.CHENG Kun SHEN Qi LIAO Shengkai PENG Chengzhi 2019Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2019,30,4:4

18Contribution of the FPGAs for Complex Control Algorithms: Sensorless DTFC with an EKF of an Induction Motor显示文摘In a conventional direct torque control(CDTC) of the induction motor drive, the electromagnetic torque and the stator flux are characterized by high ripples. In order to reduce the undesired ripples, several methods are used in the literature. Nevertheless,these methods increase the algorithm complexity and dependency on the machine parameters such as the space vector modulation(SVM). The fuzzy logic control method is utilized in this work to decrease these ripples. Moreover, to eliminate the mechanical sensor the extended kalman filter(EKF) is used, in order to reduce the cost of the system and the rate of maintenance. Furthermore, in the domain of controlling the real-time induction motor drives, two principal digital devices are used such as the hardware(FPGA) and the digital signal processing(DSP). The latter is a software solution featured by a sequential processing that increases the execution time. However, the FPGA is featured by a high processing speed because of its parallel processing. Therefore, using the FPGA it is possible to implement complex algorithms with low execution time and to enhance the control bandwidth. The large bandwidth is the key issue to increase the system performances. This paper presents the interest of utilizing the FPGAs to implement complex control algorithms of electrical systems in real time. The suggested sensorless direct torque control using the fuzzy logic(DTFC) of an induction motor is successfully designed and implemented on an FPGA Virtex 5 using xilinx system generator. 20A Novel Iterative Velocity Control Algorithm and Its FPGA Implementation Based on Trigonometric Function显示文摘The servo motor's flexible acceleration/deceleration(acc/dec) control is an emerging research topic in the automation field. A velocity control algorithm based on trigonometric function is proposed in this paper.With required parameters, it transforms trigonometric calculations into elementary mathematical operations and calculates the velocity controlling values iteratively, which could avoid trigonometric calculation and reduce the computation time. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is suitable for implementation on field programmable gate arrays and achieves a flexible controlling, enhancing both the equipment's stability and reliability.
