THE EAST ASIA/PACIFIC PATTERN TELECONNECTION OF SUMMER CIRCULATION AND CLIMATE ANOMALY IN EAST ASIA显示文摘In this paper, many observations show that the thermal states including the SST,the convective activities in the west-ern Pacific warm pool largely influence the interannual and intraseasonal variations of summer circulation and the cli-mate anomalies in East Asia. Moreover,it is pointed out that there is a teleconnection pattern of summer circulationanomalies in the Northern Hemisphere, the so-called East Asia/Pacific pattern. The cause of the teleconnection pattern is studied by using the theory of quasi-stationary planetary wave propaga-tion,and it may be due to the propagation of quasi-stationary planetary waves forced by heat source around thePhilippines. Moreover, this pattern is well simulated by using a quasi-geostrophic,linear,spherical model and theIAP-GCM,respectively.黄荣辉 1992Acta meteorologica Sinica1992,6,1:58
North Pacific sea ice cover, a predictor for the Western North Pacific typhoon frequency?显示文摘The relationship between the sea ice cover in the North Pacific and the typhoon frequency has been studied in this paper. It follows that the index for the sea ice cover in the North Pacific (ISA) both in December-January-February (DJF) and in March-April-May (MAM) is negatively correlated with annual typhoon number over the western North Pacific (TNWNP) during 1965―2004, with correlation coeffi-cients of -0.42 and -0.49 respectively (above 99% significant level). Large sea ice cover in the North Pacific tends to decrease TNWNP. Positive ISA (MAM) is associated with the tropical circulation and SST anomalies in the North Pacific, which may lead to unfavorable dynamic and thermal conditions for typhoon genesis over WNP from June to October (JJASO). The variability of the atmospheric circula-tion over the North Pacific, associated with the ISA anomaly in MAM is connected to the tropical at-mospheric circulation variability in MAM via the teleconnection wave train. Besides, as the tropical circulation has strong seasonal persistency from the MAM to JJASO, thus, the ISA in MAM-related variability of the tropical atmospheric circulation as well as the SST can affect the typhoon activity over the western North Pacific.FAN Ke Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100029, China Department of Atmospheric Science, Yun-nan University, Kunming 650091, China 2007Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,8:25
The East Asian summer monsoon circulation anomaly index and its interannual variations显示文摘Based on the concept of East Asia-Pacific (EAP) teleconnection which influences East Asian summer monsoon, an index for East Asian summer monsoon circulation anomaly was defined and it was pointed out that this index can describle the interannual variation character of summer climate in East Asia, especially in the Yangtze River and Huaihe River Valley.Gang Huang Zhongwei Yan 1999Chinese Science Bulletin1999,44,14:18
EFFECTS OF VARIATION OF WINTER SEA-ICE AREA IN KARA AND BARENTS SEAS ON EAST ASIA WINTER MONSOON显示文摘By analyzing the observation data and performing the numerical simulation tests,it is shownthat the Kara and the Barents Sea area is a key region to influence climate variation over theNorthern Hemisphere. The variation of winter sea-ice area in the key region is closely associatedwith that of the EU teleconnection pattern at 500 hPa and East Asia winter monsoon(EAWM)intensity. When a heavy sea-ice prevails in the key region, the EU teleconnection pattern at 500hPa is excited easily(there are positive 500 hPa height anomalies over around Japan and WestEurope),and winter Siberia high is weakened, meanwhile, sea level pressure(SLP)has positiveanomalies over the Northern Pacific. Therefore,EAWM will be weakened, winter temperatureover East Asia is above normal and the frequency of cold-air activity in February in China will bedecreased. When the light sea-ice occurs in the key region, the results will be opposite.武炳义 黄荣辉 高登义 1999Acta meteorologica Sinica1999,13,2:16
Teleconnection between the Indian summer monsoon onset and the Meiyu over the Yangtze River Valley显示文摘Based on the Indian and Chinese precipitation data and the NCEP-NCAR reanalysis circulation data, the relationship between the Indian summer monsoon (ISM) onset and the Meiyu over the Yangtze River Valley has been discussed by the methods of correlation analysis and composite analysis. The results show that the date of ISM onset over Kerala in the southwestern coast of the Indian Peninsula is about two weeks earlier than the beginning of the Meiyu over the Yangtze River Valley. After the outbreak of ISM, the teleconnection mode sets up from the western coast of India via the Bay of Bengal (BOB) to the Yangtze River Valley and southern Japan. It is different both in time and space from the telecon- nection mode which is from the northwest of India via the Tibetan Plateau to northern China. The for- mer mode is defined as the 'south' teleconnection of the Asian summer monsoon, forming in the pe- riod of ISM onset; while the latter mode is called the 'north' teleconnection, mainly occurring in the Asian monsoon culminant period. During the process of the 'south' teleconnection’s formation, the Asian monsoon circulation has experienced a series of important changes: ISM onset, the northward movement of the south Asia high (SAH), the onset vortex occurrence, the eastward extension of the stronger tropical westerly belt, and the northeastward jump of the western Pacific subtropical high (WPSH), etc. Consequently, since ISM sets up over Kerala, the whole Asian continent is covered by the upper SAH after about two weeks, while in the mid- and lower troposphere, a strong wind belt forms from the Arabian Sea via the southern India, BOB and the South China Sea (SCS), then along the western flank of WPSH, to the Yangtze River Valley and southern Japan. With the northward moving of the subtropical jet streams, the upper westerly jet stream and the low level jet have been coupled ver- tically over east Asia, while the Yangtze River Valley happens to locate in the ascending motion area between the upper jet stream and the low level jet, i.e. right of the entrance of the upper jet stream and left of the low level jet. Such a structure of the vertical circulation can trigger the Meiyu onset over the Yangtze River Valley.LIU YunYun1,2,3 & DING YiHui2 1 Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences, Beijing 100081, China 2 National Climate Center, Beijing 100081, China 3 Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100049, China 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,7:13
A STUDY ON THE VARIATION OF DROUGHT PERIODS OCCURRING IN NORTHWEST CHINA AND OTHER AFRICA-ASIA CONTINENTAL REGIONS显示文摘Characteristics of the drought periods which occurred in North Africa,Middle East,Middle Asiaand Northwest China were studied based on the analysis of rainfall data from 1870—1990.It is foundthat the drought periods first started in North Africa and expanded eastward to Northwest Chinathrough Middle East and Middle Asia in about 27.5 years. And then a new teleconnection pattern of30—50 day low-frequency oscillation which is associated with the droughts over the Africa-Asia Con-tinent was discovered. Finally,a hypothesis is proposed based on the statistical results that the east-ward expansion of drought periods may be caused by the occurrence of giant earthquakes(Ms>6.0)which have a tendency to shift eastward from North Africa to Northwest China in about 27.75 years.孙国武 叶谦 1996Acta meteorologica Sinica1996,10,4:9
Teleconnection between Sea Ice in the Barents Sea in June and the Silk Road,Pacific–Japan and East Asian Rainfall Patterns in August显示文摘In contrast to previous studies that have tended to focus on the influence of the total Arctic sea-ice cover on the East Asian summer tripole rainfall pattern, the present study identifies the Barents Sea as the key region where the June sea-ice variability exerts the most significant impacts on the East Asian August tripole rainfall pattern, and explores the teleconnection mechanisms involved. The results reveal that a reduction in June sea ice excites anomalous upward air motion due to strong near-surface thermal forcing, which further triggers a meridional overturning wave-like pattern extending to midlatitudes.Anomalous downward motion therefore forms over the Caspian Sea, which in turn induces zonally oriented overturning circulation along the subtropical jet stream, exhibiting the east–west Rossby wave train known as the Silk Road pattern. It is suggested that the Bonin high, a subtropical anticyclone predominant near South Korea, shows a significant anomaly due to the eastward extension of the Silk Road pattern to East Asia. As a possible descending branch of the Hadley cell, the Bonin high anomaly ultimately triggers a meridional overturning, establishing the Pacific–Japan pattern. This in turn induces an anomalous anticyclone and cyclone pair over East Asia, and a tripole vertical convection anomaly meridionally oriented over East Asia. Consequently, a tripole rainfall anomaly pattern is observed over East Asia. Results from numerical experiments using version 5 of the Community Atmosphere Model support the interpretation of this chain of events.Shengping HE Yongqi GAO Tore FUREVIK Huijun WANG Fei LI 2018Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2018,35,1:9
VARIATIONS IN THE TELECONNECTION INTENSITY INDICES AND THEIR REMOTE RESPONSE TO THE EL NINO EVENTS IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE显示文摘In this study, the monthly and seasonal teleconnection intensity indices of the Pacific/North American(PNA),Western Atlantic(WA),Western Pacific(WP),Eastern Atlantic(EA)and Eurasian(EU)patterns for the periodfrom 1951 through 1990 are calculated. On this basis, their climatic variations and the relationship between the fiveteleconnection intensity indices and the El Nino events are examined. It is noted that when El Nino is at its mature stage(winter),the weak WP pattern is mainly characteristic of the circulation and the strong PNA pattern is the next.Insummer when El Nino occurs and develops, the strong EU,weak WP and weak WA patterns are the main characteris-tics without the PNA circulation anomalies. Finally,by the nonlinear mapping method a nonlinear mapping diagram isestablished for diagnosing El Nino using three summer teleeonuection intensity indices and May and August SouthernOscillation Indices(SOIs).Thus, the El Nino phenomenon occurring in 1991 is diagnosed.Besides, the winter atmos-pheric circulation of the 1991/1992 El Nino is found to be the weak WP pattern and the PNA pattern is also weak.朱乾根 施能 1992Acta meteorologica Sinica1992,6,4:3
Simulated Relationship between Wintertime ENSO and East Asian Summer Rainfall: From CMIP3 to CMIP6显示文摘El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)events have a strong influence on East Asian summer rainfall(EASR).This paper investigates the simulated ENSO-EASR relationship in CMIP6 models and compares the results with those in CMIP3 and CMIP5 models. In general, the CMIP6 models show almost no appreciable progress in representing the ENSO-EASR relationship compared with the CMIP5 models. The correlation coefficients in the CMIP6 models are relatively smaller and exhibit a slightly greater intermodel diversity than those in the CMIP5 models.Three physical processes related to the delayed effect of ENSO on EASR are further analyzed. Results show that, firstly, the relationships between ENSO and the tropical Indian Ocean(TIO)sea surface temperature(SST)in the CMIP6 models are more realistic, stronger, and have less intermodel diversity than those in the CMIP3 and CMIP5 models.Secondly, the teleconnections between the TIO SST and Philippine Sea convection(PSC)in the CMIP6 models are almost the same as those in the CMIP5 models, and stronger than those in the CMIP3 models. Finally, the CMIP3,CMIP5,and CMIP6 models exhibit essentially identical capabilities in representing the PSC-EASR relationship.Almost all the three generations of models underestimate the ENSO-EASR,TIO SST-PSC,and PSC-EASR relationships. Moreover, almost all the CMIP6 models that successfully capture the significant TIO SST-PSC relationship realistically simulate the ENSO-EASR relationship and vice versa, which is,however, not the case in the CMIP5 models.Yuanhai FU Zhongda LIN Tao WANG 2021Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,2:3
Meridional Displacement of the East Asian Upper-tropospheric Westerly Jet and Its Relationship with the East Asian Summer Rainfall in CMIP5 Simulations显示文摘As the first leading mode of upper-tropospheric circulation in observations, the meridional displacement of the East Asian westerly jet (EAJ) varies closely with the East Asian rainfall in summer. In this study, the interannual variation of the EAJ meridional displacement and its relationship with the East Asian summer rainfall are evaluated, using the historical simulations of CMIP5 (phase 5 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project). The models can generally reproduce the meridional displacement of the EAJ, which is mainly manifested as the first principal mode in most of the simulations. For the relationship between the meridional displacement of the EAJ and East Asian rainfall, almost all the models depict a weaker correlation than observations and exhibit considerably large spread across the models. It is found that the discrepancy in the interannual relationship is closely related to the simulation of the climate mean state, including the climatological location of the westerly jet in Eurasia and rainfall bias in South Asia and the western North Pacific. In addition, a close relationship between the simulation discrepancy and intensity of EAJ variability is also found: the models with a stronger intensity of the EAJ meridional displacement tend to reproduce a closer interannual relationship, and vice versa.Yuhan YAN Chaofan LI Riyu LU 2019Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2019,36,11:2
RESPONSE OF THE ATMOSPHERIC GENERAL CIRCULATION TO WINTER SNOW COVER ANOMALY显示文摘In this paper, the response of the atmospheric general circulation to winter anomalous snowcover was investigated through observations studies and model simulation. Results from the observations show that:(1)the anomalous winter snow cover in theextratropics of Eurasian Continent bears an intimate relation to the contemporary atmosphericgeneral circulation. The positive anomaly of winter snow cover is usually accompanied by positiveatmospheric EUP teleconnection pattern and stronger East Asian winter monsoon:or vice versa.(2)The linkage between them suggests that the abnormal winter snow cover has an importantimpact on winter atmospheric general circulation. The anomalous snow cover pattern can lead tothe anomaly of winter atmospheric EUP teleconnection pattern and thus influence East AsianWinter monsoon. With NCAR CCM2 including BATS land surface scheme, three groups of experiments wereperformed to examine the atmospheric response to the anomalous snow cover pattern and explorethe relevant mechanism.Simulated results agree well with the observations, which testify thesignificant response of the atmosphere to snow cover anomaly. It is found that the radiative coolinginduced by anomalous snow cover plays an important role in above processes, and the feedback oflong-wave radiation can not be neglected.陈海山 孙照渤 2002Acta meteorologica Sinica2002,16,2:2
Global Response to Tropical Diabatic Heating Variability in Boreal Winter显示文摘Global teleconnections associated with tropical convective activities were investigated, based on monthly data of 29 Northern Hemisphere winters: December, January, February, and March (DJFM). First, EOF analyses were performed on the outgoing long-wave radiation (OLR) data to characterize the convective ac- tivity variability in the tropical Indian Ocean and the western Pacific. The first EOF mode of the convective activity was highly correlated with the ENSO. The second EOF mode had an east-west dipole structure, and the third EOF mode had three convective activity centers. Two distinct teleconnection patterns were identified that were associated, respectively, with the second and third EOF modes. A global primitive equation model was used to investigate the physical mechanism that causes the global circulation anoma- lies. The model responses to anomalous tropical thermal forcings that mimic the EOF patterns matched the general features of the observed circulation anomalies well, and they were mainly controlled by linear processes. The importance of convective activities in the tropical Indian Ocean and western Pacific to the extended- and long-range forecasting capability in the extratropics is discussed.张 旭 Hai LINt 江 静 2012Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2012,29,2:1
A DIAGNOSTIC STUDY OF THE TELECONNECTION ASSOCIATEDWITH THE WARM POOL OF THE WESTERN PACIFIC AND ASIAN MONSOON DURING EL NINO AND NON-EL NINO YEARS显示文摘Based on the monthly mean OLR, geopotential height and wind data from the NCEP/NCAR reanalyzed data sets for 1982-1996, the atmospheric teleconnection associated with the warm pool of the tropical western Pacific and Asian monsoon region during E1 Nino and non-El Nino years are studied diagnostically in this paper. It is found that, the teleconnection pattern caused by the activity of the Asian summer monsoon (ASM) emanates from the Asian monsoon region to the tropical eastern Pacific via the Aleutians in summer of the El Nino years. In the non-El Nino years, however, the ASM-related teleconnection pattern stretches northward and westward from the Asian monsoon region, exerting its influences mainly on the circulation over middle and high latitude rather than that over the tropical eastern Pacific. Evidences also show that the anomalous convection over the tropical western Pacific warm pool leads to the East Asia/Pacific(EAP) teleconnection pattern during the non-El Nino years. It is interesting to note that the teleconnection in the 500 height field associated with the warm pool convection disappears in the El Nino years. The differences of the teleconnection pattern between the El Nino years and the non-El Nino years suggest that the activities of the ASM and the convection over the warm pool of the tropical western Pacific, the most energetic weather events in boreal summer, are intertwined and interactive with other global-scale circulation in different ways under different climate backgrounds.黎伟标 罗会邦 1999Journal of Tropical Meteorology1999,5,1:1
Influence of Springtime Atlantic SST on ENSO:Role of the Madden-Julian Oscillation显示文摘Increased evidence has shown the important role of Atlantic sea surface temperature(SST) in modulating the El Nio-Southern Oscillation(ENSO). Persistent anomalies of summer Madden-Julian Oscillation(MJO) act to link the Atlantic SST anomalies(SSTAs) to ENSO. The Atlantic SSTAs are strongly correlated with the persistent anomalies of summer MJO, and possibly affect MJO in two major ways. One is that an anomalous cyclonic(anticyclonic) circulation appears over the tropical Atlantic Ocean associated with positive(negative) SSTA in spring, and it intensifies(weakens) the Walker circulation. Equatorial updraft anomaly then appears over the Indian Ocean and the eastern Pacific Ocean, intensifying MJO activity over these regions. The other involves a high pressure(low pressure) anomaly associated with the North Atlantic SSTA tripole pattern that is transmitted to the mid-and low-latitudes by a circumglobal teleconnection pattern, leading to strong(weak) convective activity of MJO over the Indian Ocean. The above results offer new viewpoints about the process from springtime Atlantic SSTA signals to summertime atmospheric oscillation, and then to the MJO of tropical atmosphere affecting wintertime Pacific ENSO events, which connects different oceans.Xin YAN Juzhang REN Jianhua JU Song YANG 2018Journal of Meteorological Research2018,32,3:1
ENSO Features, Dynamics, and Teleconnections to East Asian Climate as Simulated in CAMS-CSM显示文摘This study evaluates the performance of CAMS-CSM(the climate system model of the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences) in simulating the features, dynamics, and teleconnections to East Asian climate of the El Ni?o–Southern Oscillation(ENSO). In general, fundamental features of ENSO, such as its dominant patterns and phase-locking features, are reproduced well. The two types of El Ni?o are also represented, in terms of their spatial distributions and mutual independency. However, the skewed feature is missed in the model and the simulation of ENSO is extremely strong, which is found—based on Bjerknes index assessment—to be caused by underestimation of the shortwave damping effect. Besides, the modeled ENSO exhibits a regular oscillation with a period shorter than observed. By utilizing the Wyrtki index, it is suggested that this periodicity bias results from an overly quick phase transition induced by feedback from the thermocline and zonal advection. In addition to internal dynamics of ENSO,its external precursors—such as the North Pacific Oscillation with its accompanying seasonal footprinting mechanism, and the Indian Ocean Dipole with its 1-yr lead correlation with ENSO—are reproduced well by the model. Furthermore, with respect to the impacts of ENSO on the East Asian summer monsoon, although the anomalous Philippine anticyclone is reproduced in the post-El Ni?o summer, it exhibits an eastward shift compared with observation;and as a consequence, the observed flooding of the Yangtze River basin is poorly represented, with unrealistic air–sea interaction over the South China Sea being the likely physical origin of this bias. The response of wintertime lowertropospheric circulation to ENSO is simulated well, in spite of an underestimation of temperature anomalies in central China. This study highlights the dynamic processes that are key for the simulation of ENSO, which could shed some light on improving this model in the future.Bo LU Hong-Li REN 2019Journal of Meteorological Research2019,33,1:1
Tropical Cyclones over the Western North Pacific Strengthen the East Asia–Pacific Pattern during Summer显示文摘The contribution of tropical cyclones(TCs)to the East Asia–Pacific(EAP)teleconnection pattern during summer was investigated using the best track data of the Joint Typhoon Warning Center and NCEP-2 reanalysis datasets from 1979 to2018.The results showed that the TCs over the western North Pacific(WNP)correspond to a strengthened EAP pattern:During the summers of strong convection over the tropical WNP,TC days correspond to a stronger cyclonic circulation anomaly over the WNP in the lower troposphere,an enhanced seesaw pattern of negative and positive geopotential height anomalies over the subtropical WNP and midlatitude East Asia in the middle troposphere, and a more northward shift of the East Asian westerly jet in the upper troposphere.Further analyses indicated that two types of TCs with distinctly different tracks,i.e.,westward-moving TCs and northward-moving TCs,both favor the EAP pattern. The present results imply that TCs over the WNP,as extreme weather, can contribute significantly to summer-mean climate anomalies over the WNP and East Asia.Sining LING Riyu LU 2022Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,2:1
Revisiting the intraseasonal, interannual and interdecadal variability of tropical cyclones in the western North Pacific显示文摘This paper reviews the recent progress and research on the variability of tropical cyclones(TCs) at different time scales. Specific focus is placed on how different types of external forcings or climatic oscillations contribute to TC variability in the western North Pacific(WNP). At the intraseasonal scale, recent advances on the distinctive impacts of the Madden–Julian Oscillation(MJO), the Quasi-biweekly Oscillation, and the asymmetric MJO modulation under different El Ni?o–Southern Oscillation(ENSO) states, as well as the influences of the Pacific–Japan teleconnection, are highlighted. Interannually, recent progress on the influences of the ENSO cycle, different flavors of ENSO, and impacts of Indian Ocean warming is presented. In addition, the uncertainty concerning interdecadal TC variations is discussed, along with the recently proposed modulation mechanisms related to the zonal sea surface temperature gradient, the North Pacific Gyre Oscillation, and the Pacific Decadal Oscillation(PDO). It is hoped that this study can deepen our understanding and provide information that the scientific community can use to improve the seasonal forecasting of TCs in the WNP.LI Richard C.Y. 18ANALYSES OF THE DYNAMIC EFFECTS ON WINTER CIRCULATION OF THE TWO MAIN MOUNTAINS IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE——Ⅰ.RELATIONSHIP AMONG GENERAL CIRCULATION,TELECONNECTION AND STATIONARY WAVES显示文摘The distribution of troughs and ridges of geopotential height, the teleconnection patterns and the propagation pat-terns of stationary waves are the main features of the January mean geopotential height field at 500hPa.Data analysesand numerical experiments indicate that these three characteristics are associated to one another and closely related tothe mechanical forcing of the Rocky Mountains and Tibetan Plateau. There exists a prominent negative correlation inthe intensity variation between the American trough and the Asian trough at high and middle latitudes.Such negativecorrelation,in connection with the interannual variation of the intensity of the jets in front of the two troughs, leads tothe existence of similar teleconnection patterns in North America and East Asia.On the other hand, the different propa-gation behaviour of quasi-stationary waves downstream of the two main mountains results in a fundamental differencein the distribution of correlation chains in North America and East Asia.邹晓蕾 叶笃正 吴国雄 1992Acta meteorologica Sinica1992,6,4:1
Interdecadal Change in the Eurasia–Pacific Anti-Phase Relation of Atmospheric Mass and Its Possible Link with PDO显示文摘Based on the known climatic shift that occurred in 1976, we divide the present study period into two epochs:epoch-Ⅰ, for 1958–1976; and epoch-Ⅱ, for 1977–2002. Using ERA-40 and the 20th century reanalysis data, we investigate the interdecadal change in the Eurasia–Pacific anti-phase relation(EPAR) pattern of atmospheric mass(AM) during boreal winter before and after 1976. It is found that anomalous AM over lands is highly and negatively correlated with anomalous AM over oceans in the Northern Hemisphere during the winter season. This correlation does not change much from epoch-Ⅰ to epoch-Ⅱ. However, the correlation pattern of surface air pressure anomalies with variations of anomalous AM over lands changes remarkably from epoch-Ⅰ to epoch-Ⅱ; the EPAR pattern emerges evidently in the later period, whereas it is not significant in epoch-Ⅰ. The occurrence of the EPAR pattern in epoch-Ⅱ may be attributable to the Pacific Decadal Oscillation(PDO). The PDO may modulate the EPAR pattern in two ways. Firstly, the interdecadal component of the PDO as a background may modulate the intensities of the Aleutian low, East Asian trough, and westerly flow, acting as a waveguide during the warm phase(epoch-Ⅱ) of the PDO.Secondly, the interannual variations of sea surface temperature anomalies in the North Pacific, in association with the PDO, may affect the interannual variations of AM, which facilitates the existence of the EPAR pattern in epoch-Ⅱ only. With the teleconnection pattern having changed before and after 1976, winter climate anomalies, including rainfall and temperature, are found to be different in many regions in the Northern Hemisphere between epoch-Ⅰ and epoch-Ⅱ. All the results of the present work are meaningful for a better understanding of climate anomalies during boreal winter.Qian ZHANG Zhaoyong GUAN 2017Journal of Meteorological Research2017,31,1:1
NORTHERN HEMISPHERE SUMMER TELECONNECTIONS INTERAN-NUAL OSCILLATION AND ITS POSSIBLE RELATION TO ENSO CYCLE显示文摘The intense of Northern Hemisphere summer East Asia/Pacific and snow-forced pattern telecon-nections have been documented in terms of 43-year summer 500 hPa height data. The analysis results show the phase relationship between these summer teleconnections at quasi-4-year oscillation. The possible relation to ENSO cycle at such time scale has also been deduced.谭言科 胡邦辉 何金海 2000Journal of Tropical Meteorology2000,6,1:0
