Protective effects of cyclosporine A on T-cell dependent ConA-induced liver injury in Kunming mice显示文摘INTRODUCTIONThe T-cell dependent specific liver injury in mice induced by concanavalin A(ConA) is a newly cstablished experimental liver injury model, which is considered more eligible for the study on pathophysiology of several human liver discascs, such as viral hepatitis and autommune hepatitis[1-9].T cell activation and several cytokines release had been proven to play a critical role in ConA -induced liver injury[10-19].Cyclosprine A(CsA),an effective inhibitor of activation of T lymphocytc, hes been used widely in clinical treatment, especially in autoimmune diseases and organ transplantation[20-25].In this study,we investigated the possible effect of CsA on ConA-induced liver injury in Kunning mice.Xiu-Li Zhang Qi-Zhen Quan Zi-Qin Sun Yao-Jun Wang Xue-Liang Jiang Dong-Wang Wen-Bo Li Department of Gastroenterology,General Hospital of Jinan Military Command,Jinan 250031,Shandong Province,China 2001World Journal of Gastroenterology2001,7,4:14

Recent Advances in the Modelling and Analysis of Opinion Dynamics on Influence Networks显示文摘A fundamental aspect of society is the exchange and discussion of opinions between individuals, occurring in situations as varied as company boardrooms, elementary school classrooms and online social media. After a very brief introduction to the established results of the most fundamental opinion dynamics models, which seek to mathematically capture observed social phenomena, a brief discussion follows on several recent themes pursued by the authors building on the fundamental ideas. In the first theme, we study the way an individual′s self-confidence can develop through contributing to discussions on a sequence of topics, reaching a consensus in each case, where the consensus value to some degree reflects the contribution of that individual to the conclusion. During this process, the individuals in the network and the way they interact can change. The second theme introduces a novel discrete-time model of opinion dynamics to study how discrepancies between an individual′s expressed and private opinions can arise due to stubbornness and a pressure to conform to a social norm. It is also shown that a few extremists can create 'pluralistic ignorance', where people believe there is majority support for a position but in fact the position is privately rejected by the majority. Last, we consider a group of individuals discussing a collection of logically related topics. In particular, we identify that for topics whose logical interdependencies take on a cascade structure, disagreement in opinions can occur if individuals have competing and/or heterogeneous views on how the topics are related, i.e., the logical interdependence structure varies between individuals.Brian D.O.Anderson Mengbin Ye 2019International Journal of Automation and computing2019,16,2:13
Adaptive quasi-likelihood estimate in generalized linear models显示文摘This paper gives a thorough theoretical treatment on the adaptive quasilikelihood estimate of the parameters in the generalized linear models. The unknown covariance matrix of the response variable is estimated by the sample. It is shown that the adaptive estimator defined in this paper is asymptotically most efficient in the sense that it is asymptotic normal, and the covariance matrix of the limit distribution coincides with the one for the quasi-likelihood estimator for the case that the covariance matrix of the response variable is completely known.CHEN Xia & CHEN Xiru School of Mathematics and Statistics, Wuhan University, Wuhan 430072, China Graduate School, Chinese Academy of Science, Beijing 100049, China 2005Science China Mathematics2005,48,6:13
Strong consistency of maximum quasi-likelihood estimates in generalized linear models显示文摘In a generalized linear model with q × 1 responses, bounded and fixed p × qregressors Zi and general link function, under the most general assumption on the mini-mum eigenvalue of∑ni=1n ZiZ'i, the moment condition on responses as weak as possibleand other mild regular conditions, we prove that with probability one, the quasi-likelihoodequation has a solutionβn for all large sample size n, which converges to the true regres-sion parameterβo. This result is an essential improvement over the relevant results in literature.YiN Changming ZHAO Lincheng 2005Science China Mathematics2005,48,8:13

The roles of a decision support system in applying forest ecosystem management in Northeast China显示文摘Forest ecosystems provide a variety of services and forest ecosystem management (FEM) is an effective approach to maximize the services. Because of the complexity of forest ecosystems, the applications of FEM can be facilitated with decision support systems (DSS) that recognize and incorporate ecological and socio-economic variables. With the rapid development of computation and information technologies, DSS have been advanced in many ways. Traditional forest management within a forestry unit in China is planned on a yearly basis. The planning itself remains primarily a verbal concept as there are no quantitative decision-support tools available to translate the concept into forest management actions. For the purposes of FEM at the management level, a forest management DFF, FORESTAR(R), has been developed under a framework of geographic information system (GIS) and forest models. The paper explained the intelligent modeling mechanisms and demonstrated how the applications of FEM can be strengthened with the applications of FORESTAR(R).DAI Limin, ZHENG Bofu, Guofan Shao & ZHOU Li State Key Lab of Systems Ecology, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100085, China Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang 110016, China Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN 47907, USA Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101, China 2006Science China(Technological Sciences)2006,49,z1:9

A Variable Separation Approach to Solve the Integrable and Nonintegrable Models:Coherent Structures of the (2 + 1)-Dimensional KdV Eqnation显示文摘We study the localized coherent structures ofa generally nonintegrable (2+ 1 )-dimensional KdV equation via a variable separation approach. In a special integrable case, the entrance of some arbitrary functions leads to abundant coherent structures. However, in the general nonintegrable case, an additional condition has to be introduced for these arbitrary functions. Although the additional condition has been introduced into the solutions of the nonintegrable KdV equation, there still exist many interesting solitary wave structures. Especially, the nonintegrable KdV equation possesses the breather-like localized excitations, and the similar static ring soliton solutions as in the integrable case. Furthermor,in the integrable case, the interaction between two travelling ring solitons is elastic, while in the nonintegrable case we cannot find even the single travelling ring soliton solution.TANG Xiao-Yan LOU Sen-Yue 2002Communications in Theoretical Physics2002,,7:7
Treatment of rotaviral gastroenteritis with Qiwei Baizhu powder显示文摘AIM To observe the effects of Qiwei Baizhu Powder ( QWBZP) on rotaviral gastroenteritis in children and in animal models.``METHODS Enrolled patients were divided into two groups, and one group was treated with oral rehydration solution(ORS) and the other treated with oral liquid of QWBZP. Neonate mice were orally infected with 50 μLrotavirus suspension (4 × l0s PFU/mL) and treated with ORS or oral liquid of QWBZP, respectively.``RESULTS Eighty-three cases of rotaviral gastroenteritis treated with QWBZP revealed a better efficacy than that treated with ORS (x2 - 10.8T, P<0.05). The contents of sodium and glucose as well as number of patients with positive human rotavirus antigen in stool in QWBZP group were all less than that in ORS group. In animal models,QWBZP was found effective in treating rotavirus gastroenteritis in neonate NIH mice, as compared with control groups. In QWBZP group, the mortality of infected mice was decreased by 73.3%, the body weight of infected mice was increased, the contents of sodium and glucose as well as number of mice with positive rotavirus antigen in feces were significantly reduced, and the pathological changes such as damage of small intestinal mucosa and villi were also obviously alleviated.``CONCLUSION QWBZP has effects on improving the absorptive function of small intestine, shortening the duration of diarrhea and rotavirus shedding from stool and alleviating the pathological changes of small intestine induced by rotavirus.Shuang-Teng He~1 Fei-Zhou He~2 Can-Rong Wu~3 Shun-Xiang Li~2 Wei-Xin Liu~4 Yong-Fang Yang~2 Shi-Sheng Jiang~2 Gang He~1 1 Institute of Combined Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine,Xiangya Hospital,Hunan Medical University,Changsha,410008,China2 Hunan Province Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Changsha 410006,China3 Department of Microbiology,Hunan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Changsha 410007,China4 Department of Pediatrics,The Second Hospital of Shuangfeng County,Hunan Province,411700,China 2001World Journal of Gastroenterology2001,7,5:6

Some studies on mathematical models for general elastic multi-structures显示文摘The aim of this paper is to study the static problem about a general elastic multi-structure composed of an arbitrary number of elastic bodies, plates and rods. The mathematical model is derived by the variational principle and the principle of virtual work in a vector way. The unique solvability of the resulting problem is proved by the Lax-Milgram lemma after the presentation of a generalized Korn's inequality on general elastic multi-structures. The equilibrium equations are obtained rigorously by only assuming some reasonable regularity of the solution. An important identity is also given which is essential in the finite element analysis for the problem.HUANG Jianguo SHI Zhongci XU Yifeng 2005Science China Mathematics2005,48,7:3

Long-term data from a small mammal community reveal loss of diversity and potential effects of local climate change显示文摘Climate change affects distribution and persistence of species. However, forecasting species' re-sponses to these changes requires long-term data series that are often lacking in ecological studies. We used 15 years of small mammal trapping data collected between 1978 and 2015 in 3 areas atDoSana National Park (southwest Spain) to (i) describe changes in species composition and (ii) test theassociation between local climate conditions and size of small mammal populations. Overall, 5 specieswere captured: wood mouse Apodemus sylvaticus, algerian mouse Mus spretus, greater white-toothed shrew Crocidura russula, garden dormouse Eliomys quercinus, and black rat Rattus rattus. Thetemporal pattern in the proportion of captures of each species suggests that the small mammal diver-sity declined with time. Although the larger species (e.g., E. quercinus), better adapted to colder cli-mate, have disappeared from our trapping records, M. spretus, a small species inhabiting southwestEurope and the Mediterranean coast of Africa, currently is almost the only trapped species. We used 2-level hierarchical models to separate changes in abundance from changes in probability of captureusing records of A. sylvaticus in all 3 areas and of Mo spretus in 1. We found that heavy rainfall and lowtemperatures were positively related to abundance of A. sylvaticus, and that the number of extremelyhot days was negatively related to abundance of M. spretus. Despite other mechanisms are likely to beinvolved, our findings support the importance of climate for the distribution and persistence of thesespecies and raise conservation concerns about potential cascading effects in the Donana ecosystem.Simone SANTORO Cristina SANCHEZ-SUAREZ Carlos Rouco L. 17Three-dimensional calculations of the currents in the Huanghai Sea and East China Sea during June of 1999显示文摘Based on the wind and hydrographic data obtained by R/V Xiangyanghong 14 duringJune of 1999, the currents in the Huanghai Sea and East China Sea are computed by the three dimen-sional non-linear diagnostic, semidiagnostic models and prognostic in the σ coordinate. The computed re-sults show that the density and velocity fields and so on have been adjusted when time is about 3 days, namely the solution of semidiagnostic calculation is obtained. In the northwest part of the computed re-gion, the Huanghai coastal current flows southeastward, and then it flows out the computed region southof Cheju Island. In the west side of the southern part of the computed region, there is other current, which is mainly inshore branch of Taiwan Warm Current, and it flows cyclonically and turns to thenortheast. In the region north of the above two currents, there is a cyclonic eddy southwest of Cheju Is-land, and it has characteristics of high density and low temperature. There is an offshore branch of Tai-wan Warm Current in the west side of the Kuroshio, and it makes a cyclonic meander, then flows north-eastward. The Kuroshio in the East China Sea is stronger, and flows northeastward. Its maximum hori-zontal velocity is 108.5 cm/s at the sea surface, which is located at the northern boundary, and it is106.1 cm/s at 30 m level, 102.2 cm/s at 75 m level and 85.1 cm/s at 200 m level, respectively, whichare all located at the southern boundary. Comparing the results of diagnostic calculation with those ofsemidiagnostic and prognostic calculations indicates that the horizontal velocity field agrees qualitatively, and there is a little difference between them in quantity. The comparison between the computed veloci-ties and the obeered velocities at the mooring station show that they agree each other.Huiqun Wang, Yaochu Yuan, Yonggang Liu, Mingyu Zhou Second Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration, Hangzhou 310012, China. 19The Numerical Study of the S = 1/2 XXZ Chain显示文摘We adopt the Lanczos method combined with the quantum conformal field theory to investigate the S = 1/2XXZ chain in detail. The bulk-limit ground state energy, the anomalous scaling dimension of the spin operators, theFermi velocity and the zero-temperature susceptibility are numerically calculated. The results agree to the exact solution well.YE Fei DING Guo-Hui XU Bo-Wei 2001Communications in Theoretical Physics2001,,10:0
Pion Cloud Effects on △-N Mass Splitting from Quark Models显示文摘Pion cloud effects on △-N mass splitting are studied based on quark models. Pseudo-scalar pion-quarkcoupling is discussed in the relativistic and nonrelativistic frameworks. We separately calculate the pion cloud effects bythe one-pion exchange potential and by another method which is consistent with the baryon chiral perturbation theory.Remark able discrepancy in the mass splitting between the two methods is shown.DONG Yu-Bing FENG Qing-Guo 2002Communications in Theoretical Physics2002,,8:0
