| 1 | Polymorphism in the interleukin-17A promoter contributes to gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the contribution of the G-197A polymorphism in the interleukin-17(IL-17)promoter region to gastric cancer risk in an Iranian population.METHODS:We performed a case control study using samples from 161 individuals with gastric cancer and171 healthy controls.For each individual,the G-197A genotype was determined by restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of polymerase chain reaction-amplified fragments.Statistical analyses were performed to determine whether any demographic or behavioral factors,infection with Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori),or a particular G-197A genotype was associated with gastric cancer risk.RESULTS:We found that the G-197A genotype wassignificantly associated with increased gastric cancer risk(P=0.001).Patients who were homozygous(AA)at position-197 were 2.9 times more likely to develop disease(95%CI:1.56-5.4;P=0.001).Furthermore,logistic regression analysis revealed that the presence of a single A allele increased the risk of gastric cancer up to 1.7-fold(95%CI:1.26-2.369;P=0.001).This association was observed for early stage gastric adenocarcinomas only,and was not linked to H.pylori infection.CONCLUSION:These results suggest that carrying one or more G-197A polymorphisms at position-197 in the IL-17 promoter region significantly increases gastric cancer risk in this patient population. | Alireza Rafiei Vahid Hosseini Ghasem Janbabai Abuzar Ghorbani Abulghasem Ajami Touraj Farzmandfar Maedeh Darzyani Azizi Jeremy J Gilbreath D Scott Merrell | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,34: | 7 |

| 4 | Vibration analysis of damaged and undamaged steel structure systems: cantilever column and frame显示文摘This paper presents the experimental and numerical studies conducted on a steel column and a steel frame structure using free vibration analysis.The effects of damages on structures were investigated,which were simulated by introducing multiple cracks at different locations in the experimental and numerical models.The acceleration responses of the test models,were recorded through an accelerometer,and were used to calibrate the numerical models developed in finite element based software.Modal frequencies of damaged and undamaged structures were compared and analyzed,to derive relationships for damaged and undamaged structures’frequencies in terms of crack depth.It was found that,due to the presence of cracks,the mechanical properties of a structure changes,whereby,the modal frequencies decrease.An approximately linear trend was observed for the frequency decrease with the increase in crack depth,which was also confirmed by the numerical models.The derived relationships were extended to further develop a mechanics-based damage scale for steel structures,to help facilitate structural health monitoring and screening of vulnerable structures. | Muhammad Abuzar Khan Kareem Akhtar Naveed Ahmad Feroz Shah Naeem Khattak | 2020 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2020,19,3: | 1 |

| 11 | User scheduling and power allocation for downlink multi-cell multi-carrier NOMA systems显示文摘In Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA),the best way to fully exploit the benefits of the system is the efficient resource allocation.For the NOMA power domain,the allocation of power and spectrum require solving the mixed-integer nonlinear programming NP-hard problem.In this paper,we investigate user scheduling and power allocation in Multi-Cell Multi-Carrier NOMA(MCMC-NOMA)networks.To achieve that,we consider Weighted Sum Rate Maximization(WSRM)and Weighted Sum Energy Efficiency Maximization(WSEEM)problems.First,we tackle the problem of user scheduling for fixed power using Fractional Programming(FP),the Lagrange dual method,and the decomposition method.Then,we consider Successive Pseudo-Convex Approximation(SPCA)to deal with the WSRM problem.Finally,for the WSEEM problem,SPCA is utilized to convert the problem into separable scalar problems,which can be parallelly solved.Thus,the Dinkelbach algorithm and constraints relaxation are used to characterize the closed-form solution for power allocation.Extensive simulations have been implemented to show the efficiency of the proposed framework and its superiority over other existing schemes. | Abuzar B.M.Adam Xiaoyu Wan Zhengqiang Wang | 2023 | Digital Communications and Networks2023,9,1: | 0 |
