1Kopsia Singapurensis提取物对酸性介质中低碳钢的缓蚀效应(英文)显示文摘The influence of the alkaloid extract of Kopsia singapurensis on the corrosion behavior of mild steel (MS) in 1 mol·L-1 HCl and 1 mol·L-1 H2SO4 was studied using electrochemical techniques, viz., potentiodynamic polarization and AC impedance. The experimental results clearly show that the plant extract effectively inhibits corrosion in both acid media and the inhibition efficiency obtained from the electrochemical techniques is in good agreement. Furthermore, the polarization technique indicates that the extract acts as an anodic type inhibitor in HCl and as a mixed type in H2SO4. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was carried out to examine the surface morphological changes of metal specimens in both the inhibited and uninhibited solutions. SEM images show the formation of an adsorbed layer over the metal surface by the inhibitor molecule. 10Electroless copper-phosphorus coatings with the addition of silicon carbide (SiC) particles显示文摘Cu-P-silicon carbide (SiC) composite coatings were deposited by means of electroless plating.The effects of pH values,temperature,and different concentrations of sodium hypophosphite (NaH2PO2·H2O),nickel sulfate (NiSO4·6H2O),sodium citrate (C6H5Na3O7·2H2O) and SiC on the deposition rate and coating compositions were evaluated,and the bath formulation for Cu-P-SiC composite coatings was optimised.The coating compositions were determined using energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX).The corresponding optimal operating parameters for depositing Cu-P-SiC are as follows:pH 9;temperature,90oC;NaH2PO2·H2O concentration,125 g/L;NiSO4·6H2O concentration,3.125 g/L;SiC concentration,5 g/L;and C6H5Na3O7·2H2O concentration,50 g/L.The surface morphology of the coatings analysed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) shows that Cu particles are uniformly distributed.The hardness and wear resistance of Cu-P composite coatings are improved with the addition of SiC particles and increase with the increase of SiC content.Soheila Faraji Afidah Abdul Rahim Norita Mohamed Coswald Stephen Sipaut 2011International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2011,18,5:0
11Inhibitive effect of Xylopia ferruginea extract on the corrosion of mild steel in 1M HCl medium显示文摘The alkaloid content of the leaves and stem bark of Xylopia ferruginea plant was isolated and tested for its anticorrosion potential on mild steel corrosion in a hydrochloric acid medium by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,potentiodynamic polarization measurement,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and Fourier transform infra red(FTIR) analysis.The experimental results reveal the effective anticorrosion potential of the plant extract.The mixed mode of action exhibited by the plant extract is evidenced from the polarization study.SEM images proof the formation of a protective layer over the mild steel surface,and this is supported by the FTIR study.The possible mode of the corrosion inhibition mechanism has also been discussed.Pandian Bothi Raja Afidah Abdul Rahim1 Hasnah Osman1 Khalijah Awang 2011International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2011,18,4:0
