| 2 | Crosstalk of liver immune cells and cell death mechanisms in different murine models of liver injury and its clinical relevance显示文摘BACKGROUND: Liver inflammation or hepatitis is a result of pluripotent interactions of cell death molecules, cytokines, chemokines and the resident immune cells collectively called as microenvironment. The interplay of these inflammatory mediators and switching of immune responses during hepatotoxic, viral, drug-induced and immune cell-mediated hepatitis decide the fate of liver pathology. The present review aimed to describe the mechanisms of liver injury, its relevance to human liver pathology and insights for the future therapeutic interventions.DATA SOURCES: The data of mouse hepatic models and relevant human liver diseases presented in this review are systematically collected from Pub Med, Science Direct and the Web of Science databases published in English. RESULTS: The hepatotoxic liver injury in mice induced by the metabolites of CCl4, acetaminophen or alcohol represent necrotic cell death with activation of cytochrome pathway, formation of reactive oxygen species(ROS) and mitochondrial damage. The Fas or TNF-α induced apoptotic liver injury was dependent on activation of caspases, release of cytochrome c and apoptosome formation. The Con A-hepatitis demonstrated the involvement of TRAIL-dependent necrotic/necroptotic cell death with activation of RIPK1/3. The α-Gal Cer-induced liver injury was mediated by TNF-α. The LPS-induced hepatitis involved TNF-α, Fas/Fas L, and perforin/granzyme cell death pathways. The MHV3 or Poly(I:C) induced liver injury was mediated by natural killer cells and TNF-α signaling. The necrotic ischemia-reperfusion liver injury was mediated byhypoxia, ROS, and pro-inflammatory cytokines; however, necroptotic cell death was found in partial hepatectomy. The crucial role of immune cells and cell death mediators in viral hepatitis(HBV, HCV), drug-induced liver injury, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and alcoholic liver disease in human were discussed.CONCLUSIONS: The mouse animal models of hepatitis provide a parallel approach for the study of human liver pathology. | 3 | 浙江天童常绿阔叶林演替阶段共有种的树木构型显示文摘树木构型是木本植物为响应光照变化在其空间建造结构上的配置模式和形态体现。研究演替不同阶段共有种构型的变化可以剔除植物谱系的影响,反映植物构型特征与光资源供给性的关系。该研究在浙江宁波天童、南山和北仑3个次生演替序列上选择了5个演替共有种,分4个群落高度层级,对照分析了树高、冠幅深度和面积、枝条伸展方向、基径、叶片盖度和聚集度构型性状随演替的变化,并分析了与冠幅曝光指数的线性关系。结果表明:1)随着演替进行,冠幅厚度和面积、叶片盖度、叶片聚集度和基径逐步增加,但在个别相邻演替阶段增加不显著;2)随着演替进行,植物的垂直枝比例降低,水平枝比例增加;3)演替过程中植物冠幅曝光指数在各层级内都呈现出减小趋势;4)构型性状和植物冠幅曝光指数间存在显著的线性回归关系(p<0.001)。总之,随着常绿阔叶林演替进行,演替共有种构型的变化反映了物种功能类群由阳性先锋植物向耐阴植物的转化,其中,植物对光资源的适应是导致构型变化的主要原因。 | 杨晓东 Ali ARSHAD | 2013 | 植物生态学报2013,37,7: | 17 |
| 4 | 浙江天童木本植物叶片性状空间变异的地统计学分析显示文摘探究叶片性状的空间变异性和环境关联性有助于我们理解植物对环境的适应策略和群落建构机制。该研究以浙江天童5 hm2大型动态样地所有胸径≥1 cm的木本植物为对象,测定了20 253株个体的单叶面积、比叶面积和叶片干物质含量,土壤总氮、总磷、总碳、p H值、体积含水率、容重和腐殖质,以及海拔、坡度和凹凸度等;并用地统计学等方法分析了叶片性状的空间变异性及其与环境因子的相关性。结果表明:1)单叶面积的空间变异最大,比叶面积次之,叶片干物质含量最小。三者在0–5.16 m空间范围内表现出较弱的空间自相关,其半变异函数的最优模型分别为高斯模型、指数模型和指数模型。2)叶片性状空间变异具有方向性,单叶面积空间变异在东北-西南方向上最大,在西北-东南方向上最小;比叶面积和叶片干物质含量的空间变异均在西北-东南方向最大,在东北-西南方向最小。3)单叶面积与地形因子显著负相关(r=–0.12,p<0.000 1);比叶面积与土壤养分显著负相关(r=–0.16,p<0.000 1),叶片干物质含量与土壤养分显著正相关(r=0.13,p<0.000 1)。4)东北-西南方向上,地形因子对单叶面积、比叶面积和叶片干物质含量空间变异的影响大于土壤养分;西北-东南方向上,地形因子对单叶面积空间变异的影响相对较大,而土壤养分对比叶面积和叶片干物质含量空间变异的影响较大。总之,在研究样地内,植物叶片性状随空间距离和方向存在很大的变异性,叶片性状与地形因子、土壤养分的关联性间接表明了环境过滤对群落构建的影响。 | 许洺山 赵延涛 杨晓东 史青茹 周刘丽 张晴晴 Ali ARSHAD 阎恩荣 | 2016 | 植物生态学报2016,40,1: | 13 |
| 5 | 浙江天童常绿阔叶林演替过程中土壤碳库与植被碳归还的关系显示文摘土壤碳固持量随森林演替显著提高,对减缓全球变暖具有重要意义;但是,演替过程中土壤有机碳库与植被碳归还的关系尚无定论。该研究以浙江天童常绿阔叶林次生演替系列为对象,通过测定前中后3个演替阶段土壤总有机碳(TOC)、可矿化碳(MC)、可溶性有机碳(DOC)和微生物量碳(MBC)3种活性有机碳的含量与储量,植被凋落物年凋落量、地表枯落物现存量和细根年归还量及其碳储量,利用相关分析和多元逐步回归拟合,分析土壤碳库与植被碳输入的关系。结果表明:(1)土壤TOC、MC、DOC和MBC含量随演替进行均显著增加(p<0.05);(2)随演替进行,土壤TOC储量显著增加(p<0.05),而MC、DOC和MBC储量并没有出现一致的变化趋势,其排序为:中期>后期>前期;(3)凋落物年凋落量及其碳储量随演替显著增加(p<0.05),细根年归还量及其碳储量随演替先增后降(p<0.05),而地表枯落物现存量与碳储量显著降低;(4)3种活性有机碳中,MC储量对土壤总有机碳储量解释的贡献率为34.01%(R2=0.388,p<0.05);(5)TOC和活性碳库(MC、DOC、MBC)受到不同碳归还方式的影响,但细根的影响最大(分别为28.2%、50.0%、73.4%和68.8%)。总之,随天童常绿阔叶林演替发生,土壤总有机碳和3种活性有机碳储量显著增加,细根生物量和可矿化碳库储量增加是引起土壤碳固持量增加的主要原因。 | 孙宝伟 杨晓东 张志浩 马文济 Ali ARSHAD 黄海侠 阎恩荣 | 2013 | 植物生态学报2013,37,9: | 10 |

| 8 | Transcranial magnetic stimulation in animal models of neurodegeneration显示文摘Brain stimulation techniques offer powerful means of modulating the physiology of specific neural structures. In recent years, non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation(TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation, have emerged as therapeutic tools for neurology and neuroscience. However, the possible repercussions of these techniques remain unclear, and there are few reports on the incisive recovery mechanisms through brain stimulation. Although several studies have recommended the use of non-invasive brain stimulation in clinical neuroscience, with a special emphasis on TMS, the suggested mechanisms of action have not been confirmed directly at the neural level. Insights into the neural mechanisms of non-invasive brain stimulation would unveil the strategies necessary to enhance the safety and efficacy of this progressive approach. Therefore, animal studies investigating the mechanisms of TMSinduced recovery at the neural level are crucial for the elaboration of non-invasive brain stimulation. | 11 | Machine learning and geostatistical approaches for estimating aboveground biomass in Chinese subtropical forests显示文摘Background:Aboveground biomass(AGB)is a fundamental indicator of forest ecosystem productivity and health and hence plays an essential role in evaluating forest carbon reserves and supporting the development of targeted forest management plans.Methods:Here,we proposed a random forest/co-kriging framework that integrates the strengths of machine learning and geostatistical approaches to improve the mapping accuracies of AGB in northern Guangdong Province of China.We used Landsat time-series observations,Advanced Land Observing Satellite(ALOS)Phased Array L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar(PALSAR)data,and National Forest Inventory(NFI)plot measurements,to generate the forest AGB maps at three time points(1992,2002 and 2010)showing the spatio-temporal dynamics of AGB in the subtropical forests in Guangdong,China.Results:The proposed model was capable of mapping forest AGB using spectral,textural,topographical variables and the radar backscatter coefficients in an effective and reliable manner.The root mean square error of the plotlevel AGB validation was between 15.62 and 53.78 t∙ha^(−1),the mean absolute error ranged from 6.54 to 32.32 t∙ha^(−1),the bias ranged from−2.14 to 1.07 t∙ha^(−1),and the relative improvement over the random forest algorithm was between 3.8%and 17.7%.The largest coefficient of determination(0.81)and the smallest mean absolute error(6.54 t∙ha^(−1)were observed in the 1992 AGB map.The spectral saturation effect was minimized by adding the PALSAR data to the modeling variable set in 2010.By adding elevation as a covariable,the co-kriging outperformed the ordinary kriging method for the prediction of the AGB residuals,because co-kriging resulted in better interpolation results in the valleys and plains of the study area.Conclusions:Validation of the three AGB maps with an independent dataset indicated that the random forest/cokriging performed best for AGB prediction,followed by random forest coupled with ordinary kriging(random forest/ordinary kriging),and the random forest model.The proposed random forest/co-kriging framework provides an accurate and reliable method for AGB mapping in subtropical forest regions with complex topography.The resulting AGB maps are suitable for the targeted development of forest management actions to promote carbon sequestration and sustainable forest management in the context of climate change. | Huiyi Su Wenjuan Shen Jingrui Wang Arshad Ali Mingshi Li | 2020 | Forest Ecosystems2020,7,4: | 3 |

| 17 | The electronic and magnetic properties of wurtzite Mn:CdS, Cr:CdS and Mn:Cr:CdS: first principles calculations显示文摘In this article, density functional theory(DFT) based on generalized gradient approximation(GGA)and GGACU, U is Hubbard term, is used to study the electronic properties of CdS doped with different dopants(Cr, Mn). The calculations are carried out for Mn-doped CdS, Cr-doped CdS, and co-doping of Mn/Cr in CdS simultaneously. It is found that hopping of electrons is possible with Cr:CdS and Mn:Cr:CdS while Mn:CdS does not allow the hopping of electrons. Moreover, double exchange interactions are observed in Cr:CdS and d-d superexchange interactions are observed in Mn:CdS. Now the problem becomes interesting when one magnetic ion(Cr) supporting double exchange interactions and another ion(Mn) supporting d-d super-exchange interactions are doped simultaneously in the same system(CdS). The co-doped CdS is more stable even at high Curie temperature due to p-d double exchange interactions and d-d super exchange interactions. | 18 | Generalized and species-specific prediction models for aboveground biomass in semi-steppe rangelands显示文摘Aims The accurate estimation of aboveground biomass in vegetation is critical for global carbon accounting.Regression models provide an easy estimation of aboveground biomass at large spatial and temporal scales.Yet,only few prediction models are available for aboveground biomass in rangelands,as compared with forests.In addition to the development of prediction models,we tested whether such prediction models vary with plant growth forms and life spans,and with the inclusion of site and/or quadrat-specific factors.Methods We collected dataset of aboveground biomass from destructive harvesting of 8088 individual plants belonging to 79 species in 735 quadrats across 35 sites in semi-steppe rangelands in Iran.A logarithmic transformation of the power-law model was used to develop simple prediction models for the easy estimation of above-ground biomass using plant coverage and vegetation density as predictors for the species-specific model,multispecies and plants of different growth forms and life spans.In addition,additive and multiplicative linear regression models were developed by using plant coverage and one categorical variable from the site and/or quadrat-specific factors.Important Findings The log-transformed power-law model based on plant coverage pre-cisely predicted aboveground biomass across the whole dataset for ei-ther most of the species-specific model,multispecies or plants of the same growth forms(shrubs,forbs or graminoids)and life spans(annuals,biennials or perennials).The addition of vegetation density as a single or in a compound predictor variable had relatively poor performance com-pared with the model having plant coverage only.Although generalizing at the levels of plant group forms and/or life spans did not substantially enhance the model-fit and validation of the plant coverage-based mul-tispecies model,the inclusion of plant growth forms or life spans as a categorical predictor variable had performed well.Generalized models in this study will greatly contribute to the accurate and easy predic-tion of aboveground biomass in the studied rangelands and will be also useful to rangeland practitioners and ecological modellers interested in the global relationship between biodiversity and aboveground biomass productivity across space and time in natural rangelands. | Anvar Sanaei Arshad Ali Khaled Ahmadaali Esfandiar Jahantab | 2019 | Journal of Plant Ecology2019,12,3: | 2 |
| 19 | Fine-scale habitat differentiation shapes the composition, structure and aboveground biomass but not species richness of a tropical Atlantic forest显示文摘Evaluating the influences of fine-scale habitat heterogeneity on the composition,diversity,structure and functioning of forests is critical to understand how tropical forests will respond to climate change and devise forest management strategies that will enhance biodiversity conservation and aboveground biomass stock.Here,we hypothesized that topographic and soil factors determine fine-scale habitat differentiation,which in turn shape community composition,species richness,structure and aboveground biomass at the local scale in tropical forests.To test this hypothesis,we selected two areas(each 100×100 m)with contrasting fine-scale topographic conditions where all trees,palms and lianas with a diameter at breast height ≥ 10 cm were tagged and identified to species.In each selected area,100 subplots of 10×10 m were established.We mainly found that higher topographic variability caused higher habitat differentiation with changes in species composition and community structure,but did not change species richness.Our habitat-scale analyses indicated that,in the less heterogeneous area,the distribution of species was more uniform along a fine-scale topographical gradient with no variation in convexity,which induced changes in structure and aboveground biomass,but not in species richness.The nonsignificant relationship between species richness and aboveground biomass may be attributable to species redundancy or functional dominance.This study suggests that environmental filtering is a fundamental process for shaping community assembly and forest functioning along a local topographical gradient in tropical forests. | Alice Cristina Rodrigues Pedro Manuel Villa Arshad Ali Walnir Ferreira-Junior Andreza Viana Neri | 2020 | Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,5: | 2 |
