1Predictive value and main determinants of abnormal features of intraoperative cholangiography during cholecystectomy显示文摘BACKGROUND:The major issue with intraoperative cholangiography (IOC) is whether its diagnostic accuracy for common bile duct (CBD) stones matches that of other diagnostic procedures,and thus,whether it will become a routine diagnostic procedure.The current study aimed to address the main determinants of CBD stone diagnosis in IOC among an Iranian population.METHODS:In a retrospective review database-based study conducted in Taleghani Hospital in Tehran between 2006 and 2008,baseline data and perioperative information of 2060 patients (male to female ratio 542:1518,mean age 53.7 years) who were candidates for cholecystectomy and underwent concomitant IOC for confirming CBD stones were reviewed.The predictive power of this procedure for diagnosis of abnormal biliary ducts with the focus on biliary stones was determined.RESULTS:Overall mortality and morbidity following cholecystectomy in the study population were 0.6% and 2.6%,respectively.Both early mortality and morbidity due to cholecystectomy were higher in male than female.The prevalence of CBD stones in IOC was 3.4% (5.2% in male and 2.8% in female,P=0.008).Among those without gallstones,8.7% had CBD stones and only 3.1% had concomitant gallstones and CBD stones.The main predictors of stone appearance as an abnormal feature of IOC during cholecystectomy were:advanced age (OR=1.022,P=0.001),male gender (OR=1.498,P=0.050),history of abdominal surgery (OR=1.543,P=0.040) and preoperative endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (OR=5.400,P<0.001).CONCLUSIONS:IOC is a safe and accurate method for the assessment of bile duct anatomy and stones.Therefore,the routine use of IOC within cholecystectomy seems reasonable and is recommended.Shahram Yousefpour Azary Heshmat Kalbasi Ali Setayesh Mirhadi Mousavi Asad Hashemi Mahsa Khodadoostan Mohammad Reza Zali Amir Houshang Mohammad Alizadeh 2011Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2011,10,3:11
2Nonprecious metal's graphene-supported electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction: Fundamentals to applications显示文摘Sustainable production of hydrogen is a hopeful requirement of a strategic future economy and development.Water splitting driven by electricity is a favorable pathway for renewable hydrogen production.This critical review highlighted recent efforts toward the development of the nanoscale synthesis of nonprecious metal's graphene-supported electrocatalysts and their electrocatalytic features for remarkable hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Different essential nonprecious metal's graphene-supported electrocatalysts,including metal carbides,sulfides,phosphides,selenides,oxides,and nitrides are reviewed.In the exploration,attention is given to the strategies of activity enhancement,the synthetic approach,and the composition/structure electrocatalytic-performance relationship of these HER electrocatalysts.We are hopeful that this review confers a new momentum to the rational design of remarkable performance nonprecious metal's graphenesupported electrocatalysts and comprehensive guide for researchers to utilize the subject catalysts in regular water splitting.Asad Ali Pei Kang Shen 2020Carbon Energy2020,2,1:6
3Nitrogen(N) metabolism related enzyme activities,cell uitrastructure and nutrient contents as affected by N level and barley genotype显示文摘Development of the new crop cultivars with high yield under low nitrogen(N) input is a fundamental approach to enhance agricultural sustainability,which is dependent on the exploitation of the elite germplasm.In the present study,four barley genotypes(two Tibetan wild and two cultivated),differing in N use efficiency(NUE),were characterized for their physiological and biochemical responses to different N levels.Higher N levels significantly increased the contents of other essential nutrients(P,K,Ca,Fe,Cu and Mn),and the increase was more obvious for the N-efficient genotypes(ZD9 and XZ149).The observation of ultrastructure showed that chloroplast structure was severely damaged under low nitrogen,and the two high N efficient genotypes were relatively less affected.The activities of the five N metabolism related enzymes,i.e.,nitrate reductase(NR),glutamine synthetase(GS),nitrite reductase(NiR),glutamate synthase(GOGAT) and glutamate dehydrogenase(GDH) all showed the substantial increase with the increased N level in the culture medium.However the increased extent differed among the four genotypes,with the two N efficient genotypes showing more increase in comparison with the other two genotypes with relative N inefficiency(HXRL and XZ56).The current findings showed that a huge difference exists in low N tolerance among barley genotypes,and improvement of some physiological traits(such as enzymes) could be helpful for increasing N utilization efficiency.Jawad Munawar Shah Syed Asad Hussain Bukhari ZENG Jian-bin QUAN Xiao-yan Essa Ali Noor Muhammad ZHANG Guo-ping 2017Journal of Integrative Agriculture2017,16,1:4
4Recent development of Au arched Pt nanomaterials as promising electrocatalysts for methanol oxidation reaction显示文摘The recent development of Aurum(Au)introduced Platinum(Pt)based nanomaterials is of great significance to direct methanol fuel cell as electrocatalysts for anode reactions,due to its stability and anti-poisoning features.Therefore,the performance of PtAu based catalysts with different elements,atomic ratio,and morphology was studied in methanol solution to further improve its electrocatalytic activity.Furthermore,the effects of Au have aroused the researchers'attention in Pt-based nanocatalysts.In this review,we summarize the controllable synthesis,mechanism,and catalytic performance of Au introduced Pt-based electrocatalysts such as PtAu core-shell nanostructures,PtAu dendrite,PtAu nanowires,self-supporting Au@Pt NPs,and Au@Pt star-like nanocrystals for the methanol oxidation reaction.Finally,the challenges and research directions for the future development of PtAu based catalysts are provided.Wenhua Lou Asad Ali Pei Kang Shen 2022Nano Research2022,15,1:4
5Surfactant-decorated graphite nanoplatelets(GNPs) reinforced aluminum nanocomposites: sintering effects on hardness and wear显示文摘The exceptional properties of graphene make it ideal as a reinforcement to enhance the properties of aluminum matrices and this critically depends on uniform dispersion. In this study, the dispersion issue was addressed by sonication and non-covalent surface functionalization of graphite nanoplatelets(GNPs) using two types of surfactant: anionic(sodium dodecyl benzene sulfate(SDBS)) and non-ionic polymeric(ethyl cellulose(EC)). After colloidal mixing with Al powder, consolidation was performed at two sintering temperatures(550 and 620°C). The structure, density, mechanical and wear properties of the nanocomposite samples were investigated and compared with a pure Al and a pure GNPs/Al nanocomposite sample. Noticeably, EC-based 0.5 wt% GNPs/Al samples showed the highest increment of 31% increase in hardness with reduced wear rate of 98.25% at 620°C, while a 22% increase in hardness with reduced wear rate of 96.98% at 550°C was observed, as compared to pure Al. 7Prevalence of plasmid mediated bla_(TEM-1) and bla_(CTX-M-15) type extended spectrum beta-lactamases in patients with sepsis显示文摘Objective:To characterize the bacterial pathogens in patients having gram negative septicaemia. Further,to evaluate the antimicrobial resistance and underlying molecular mechanisms in these strains.Methods:A total number of 70 cases of gram negative sepsis were included in this prospective,open labeled,observational study.Standard methods for isolation and identification of bacteria were used.Antimicrobial susceptibility and ESBL testing was performed by the standard disc diffusion method.PCR amplification was performed to identify blaCTX-M,blaSHVand blaTEM type ESBLs.Conjugation experiments were performed to show resistant marker transfer. Results:The most prevalent isolates Escherichia coli(E.coli) 58.6%,Klebsiella Spp.32.9%and Pseudomonas 8.6%,were resistant to most of the antimicrobials including cefazolin,ceftriaxone, cefuroxime,ampicillin and co-trimoxazole but sensitive to imipenem and meropenem.ESBL and MBL production was seen 7.3%and 12.2%of E.coli isolates respectively.Three isoaltes were found to have blaCTX-M-15 and two of them also showed blaTEM-1 type enxyme.Whereas, none of them showed blaSHV.Conjugation experiments using J-53 cells confirmed these resistant markers as plasmid mediated.Conclusions:This work highlights the molecular epidemiology of escalating antimicrobial resistance and likely switch over of blaCTX-M-15 type extended spectrum beta-lactamases by blaTEM type ESBLs in India.Further,the antimicrobial resistance by horizontal gene transfer was predominant among Enterobacteraceae in the community setting.Shahzad F Haque Saeedut-Z Ali Mohammed TP Asad U Khan 2012Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2012,5,2:2

11Numerical investigation on self-priming process of self-priming pump显示文摘In order to investigate the self-priming process of the self-priming pump,an unsteady simulation was conducted where the Navier-Stokes equations were used with the Lagrangian-Eularian mo-del.In course of this investigation,the volume fractions,pressure distribution and self-priming time were carried out.By analyzing the volume,velocity and pressure distribution of the gas-liquid two-phase flow at different time,the two-phase content via the variation law of the two-phase flow in the pump was carried out.By monitoring and analyzing the gas-liquid flow at the outlet of the pump,the self-priming time and crucial periods were given.Two phenomena were mainly characterized by the self-priming process such as the gas-liquid mixing and separation,which occur in the early stage of self-priming process.During that period the gas-liquid mixing clouds appear on the outer edge of the impeller,and the instantaneous void fraction at the inlet and outlet of the impeller decreases obviously.It was also established from the transient study that the gas has a major influence on the hydraulic performance of the pump at the early stage of operation.To increase the usage of self-priming pump and to also understand the energy conversion of the pump,it is very essential to investigate and establish the basic working principle of the self-priming pump.FALL Ibra PAN Zhongyong ZHANG Desheng DESMOND Appiah ALI Asad YANG Bo 2020排灌机械工程学报2020,38,11:1

14Formation of crystalline particles from phase change emulsion: Influence of different parameters显示文摘Solidification or crystallization of phase change emulsion in the form of fine emulsion drops in a direct contact coolant at temperatures below their freezing point was studied. This work is mainly focused on the size and shape of the generated particles from phase change emulsified fats. Size of the particles is the major or key factor being considered during their formation, however, other factors that govern the particle size and shape were also observed. The operating parameters of the process were optimized in order to obtain particles of smaller size ranges in the window of current operating conditions. The crystallization of complex emulsion matrices is very difficult to control in the bulk at desired requirement. Hence, the emulsion drop to particle formation has advantage in comparison with the bulk solidification or crystallization. The main objective of this work is to achieve spherical emulsion particles in a direct contact cooling system. Parameters like: stability, characterization, viscosity, and the effect of different energy inputs were examined. 16Machine Learning Based Psychotic Behaviors Prediction from Facebook Status Updates显示文摘With the advent of technological advancements and the widespread Internet connectivity during the last couple of decades,social media platforms(such as Facebook,Twitter,and Instagram)have consumed a large proportion of time in our daily lives.People tend to stay alive on their social media with recent updates,as it has become the primary source of interactionwithin social circles.Although social media platforms offer several remarkable features but are simultaneously prone to various critical vulnerabilities.Recent studies have revealed a strong correlation between the usage of social media and associated mental health issues consequently leading to depression,anxiety,suicide commitment,and mental disorder,particularly in the young adults who have excessively spent time on socialmedia which necessitates a thorough psychological analysis of all these platforms.This study aims to exploit machine learning techniques for the classification of psychotic issues based on Facebook status updates.In this paper,we start with depression detection in the first instance and then expand on analyzing six other psychotic issues(e.g.,depression,anxiety,psychopathic deviate,hypochondria,unrealistic,and hypomania)commonly found in adults due to extreme use of social media networks.To classify the psychotic issues with the user’s mental state,we have employed different Machine Learning(ML)classifiers i.e.,Random Forest(RF),Support Vector Machine(SVM),Naïve Bayes(NB),and K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN).The used ML models are trained and tested by using different combinations of features selection techniques.To observe themost suitable classifiers for psychotic issue classification,a cost-benefit function(sometimes termed as‘Suitability’)has been used which combines the accuracy of the model with its execution time.The experimental evidence argues that RF outperforms its competitor classifiers with the unigram feature set.Mubashir Ali Anees Baqir Hafiz Husnain Raza Sherazi Asad Hussain Asma Hassan Alshehri Muhammad Ali Imran 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,8:1
17Innovative Strategies for Overall Water Splitting Using Nanostructured Transition Metal Electrocatalysts显示文摘Electrochemical water splitting is regarded as the most auspicious technology for renewable sources,transport,and storage of hydrogen energy.Currently,noble Pt metal and noble-metal oxides(IrO_(2)and RuO_(2))are recognized as state-of-the-art electrocatalysts for both the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER),respectively.Searching for earth-abundant electrocatalysts for the HER and OER with remarkable performance and high stability to replace precious metals plays a significant role in the commercial application of electrochemical water splitting.In this review,recent advancements in nanostructured transition metal electrocatalysts are assessed through the selected examples of nitrides,carbides,phosphides,sulfides,borides,layered double hydroxides,and oxides.Recent breakthroughs in nanostructured transition metal electrocatalysts are discussed in terms of their mechanisms,controllable production,structural design,and innovative strategies for boosting their performance.For instance,most nanostructured transition metal electrocatalysts for overall water splitting(OWS)only function well in neutral and alkaline solutions.Finally,current research challenges and future perspectives for increasing the performance of nanostructured transition metals for OWS are proposed.Asad Ali Fei Long Pei Kang Shen 2022Electrochemical Energy Reviews2022,5,4:1

19A mathematical model for open pit mine production scheduling with Grade Engineering and stockpiling显示文摘This paper presents the development and implementation of an innovative mixed integer programming based mathematical model for an open pit mining operation with Grade Engineering framework.Grade Engineering comprises a range of coarse-separation based pre-processing techniques that separate the desirable(i.e.high-grade)and undesirable(i.e.low-grade or uneconomic)materials and ensure the delivery of only selected quantity of high quality(or high-grade)material to energy,water,and cost-intensive processing plant.The model maximizes the net present value under a range of operational and processing constraints.Given that the proposed model is computationally complex,the authors employ a data preprocessing procedure and then evaluate the performance of the model at several practical instances using computation time,optimality gap,and the net present value as valid measures.In addition,a comparison of the proposed and traditional(without Grade Engineering)models reflects that the proposed model outperforms the traditional formulation.Karo Fathollahzadeh Elham Mardaneh Mehmet Cigla Mohammad Waqar Ali Asad 2021International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,4:1
