1Terahertz detectors based on superconducting hot electron bolometers显示文摘Low noise terahertz(THz)heterodyne detectors based on superconducting niobium nitride(NbN) hot electron bolometers(HEBs)have been studied.The HEB consists of a planar antenna and an NbN bridge connecting across the antenna's inner terminals on a high-resistivity Si substrate.The double sideband noise temperatures at 4.2 K without corrections have been characterized from 0.65 to 3.1 THz.The excess quantum noise factor β of about 4 has been obtained,which agrees well with the calculated value.Allan variance of the HEB has been measured,and Allan time up to 20 s is obtained using a microwave feedback method.Also,the intermediate frequency gain bandwidth(GBW)was measured using two dierent methods,resulting in same GBW value of about 3.5 GHz.JIANG Yi JIN BiaoBing XU WeiWei KANG Lin CHEN Jian WU PeiHeng 2012Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,1:8
2Temperature dependence of the point defect properties of GaN thin films studied by terahertz time-domain spectroscopy显示文摘The dielectric functions of GaN for the temperature and frequency ranges of 10–300 K and 0.3–1 THz are obtained using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy.It is found that there are oscillations of the dielectric functions at various temperatures.Physically,the oscillation behavior is attributed to the resonance states of the point defects in the material.Furthermore,the dielectric functions are well fitted by the combination of the simple Drude model together with the classical damped oscillator model.According to the values of the fitting parameters,the concentration and electron lifetime of the point defects for various temperatures are determined,and the temperature dependences of them are in accordance with the previously reported result.Therefore,terahertz time-domain spectroscopy can be considered as a promising technique for investigating the relevant characteristics of the point defects in semiconductor materials.FANG HeNan ZHANG Rong LIU Bin LI YeCao FU DeYi LI Yi XIE ZiLi ZHUANG Zhe ZHENG YouDou WU JingBo JIN BiaoBing CHEN Jian WU PeiHeng 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,11:6
3Nb_5N_6 thin film on silicon and silicon oxide: A good material for terahertz detection显示文摘Voltage responsivity of bolometer will benefit from high temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of the material. The Nb5N6 thin solid films we proposed in this paper have high TCR, compared with the commonly-used materials such as Nb and Bi. The films were sputtered on Si(100), SiO2/Si(100), SiO2 substrates by using radio frequency (rf) magnetron sputtering. The deposition conditions have been optimized to get high TCR. 4A simple Fourier transform spectrometer for terahertz applications显示文摘A simple Fourier transform spectrometer was designed and constructed for the measurement of detectors,sources,passive devices and materials in the terahertz(THz) range.It can be operated at frequencies between 0.3 and 1.5 THz,using a 50-μm-thick Mylar-film beam splitter.The spectral range can be changed by altering the thickness of the beam splitter.The highest frequency resolution is 750 MHz.We studied the properties of heterodyne detectors including superconductor mixers and semiconductor harmonic mixers,direct detectors including an InSb semiconductor bolometer,superconducting tunnel junctions and the Golay cell,and sources including Gunn oscillators and a microwave source with its multipliers,as well as various materials and passive devices including Si wafers and metal mesh filters.JIANG Yi LIANG Ming JIN BiaoBing KANG Lin XU WeiWei CHEN Jian WU PeiHeng 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,6:4
5Effect of loss and coupling on the resonance of metamaterial:An equivalent circuit approach显示文摘In this work we establish an equivalent circuit model to analyze the resonace of the metamaterial considering the loss of the unit cell and coupling effect between them.From this model,we find that metamaterial can be divided into three categories:weak,critical and strong couplings,depending on the values of the loss and coupling strength,where the different resonant properties are presented.The physical reason of the division is whether the loss in each unit cell can be offset by energy coupling from the adjunct unit cells.Full-wave electromagnetic simulations have also been carried out to verify the equivalent circuit analysis.Our circuit analysis provides a simple and effective way to understand the coupling of the metamaterial and gives guidance for the analysis and design of the metamaterial.ZHANG YongGang WU JingBo LIANG LanJu ZHOU GaoChao JIN BiaoBing FENG YiJun 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,12:3
6Temperature dependence of niobium superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors in He-3 cryocooler显示文摘Performances of superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors(SNSPDs) based on low TCmaterials strongly depend on the operating temperatures. We have fabricated infrared-sensitive niobium SNSPDs based on doped niobium(Nb*) films and measured them in He-3cryocooler. The critical current approaches to the de-pairing current at 0.3 K. Therefore, with the decrease in temperatures, we have observed a monotonous increase of count rate at the wavelength of 1,521 nm and exponential decrease of dark count rate at all bias currents. 8Terahertz narrow bandstop, broad bandpass filter using double-layer S-shaped metamaterials显示文摘In this study,double-layer S-shaped metamaterials(MMs)are analyzed by terahertz time-domain spectroscopy.These materials exhibit narrow bandstop and broad bandpass transmission properties at both horizontal and vertical electric-feld polarizations.A 117%increase in the unloaded quality factor is experimentally observed for these materials.The center frequency is approximately 0.45 THz,with a 3-dB bandwidth of 0.52 THz from 0.20 to 0.72 THz at normal incidence.The measured average insertion loss is 0.5 dB with a ripple of 1 dB.These results show that double-layer S-shaped MMs are efective in designing tunable terahertz devices.LIANG LanJu JIN BiaoBing WU JingBo ZHOU GaoChao ZHANG YongGang TU XueCou JIA Tao JIA XiaoQing CAO ChunHai KANG Lin XU WeiWei CHEN Jian 2013Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,12:2

12Directional terahertz holography with thermally active Janus metasurface显示文摘Dynamic manipulation of electromagnetic(EM)waves with multiple degrees of freedom plays an essential role in enhancing information processing.Currently,an enormous challenge is to realize directional terahertz(THz)holography.Recently,it was demonstrated that Janus metasurfaces could produce distinct responses to EM waves from two opposite incident directions,making multiplexed dynamic manipulation of THz waves possible.Herein,we show that thermally activated THz Janus metasurfaces integrating with phase change materials on the meta-atoms can produce asymmetric transmission with the designed phase delays.Such reconfigurable Janus metasurfaces can achieve asymmetric focusing of THz wave and directional THz holography with free-space image projections,and particularly the information can be manipulated via temperature and incident THz wave direction.This work not only offers a common strategy for realizing the reconfigurability of Janus metasurfaces,but also shows possible applications in THz optical information encryption,data storage,and smart windows.Benwen Chen Shengxin Yang Jian Chen Jingbo Wu Ke Chen Weili Li Yihui Tan Zhaosong Wang Hongsong Qiu Kebin Fan Caihong Zhang Huabing Wang Yijun Feng Yunbin He Biaobing Jin Xinglong Wu Jian Chen Peiheng Wu 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,6:1

16(+)/(-)-Yanhusuosines A and B, two dimeric benzylisoquinoline-protoberberine alkaloid atropo-enantiomers featuring polycyclic skeletons from Corydalis yanhusuo显示文摘(+)/(-)-Yanhusuosines A(1) and B(2), two pairs of trace benzylisoquinoline-protoberberine atropoenantiomeric homodimers featuring an unprecedented 6/7/6/6/6/6 hexacyclic skeleton, were isolated from the tubers of Corydalis yanhusuo. The structures of(+)/(-)-1 and(+)/(-)-2 were elucidated using spectroscopic and quantum-chemical calculation approaches.(+)/(-)-Yanhusuosines A(1) and B(2)represent a new class of alkaloid dimers biogenetically constructed by a molecule of benzylisoquinoline with a unit of protoberberine via an intermolecular [4 + 3] cycloaddition.
