1Nitrogen removal and simultaneous nitrification and denitrification in a fluidized bed step-feed process显示文摘For urban wastewater treatment,we conducted a novel four-stage step-feed wastewater treatment system combined with a fluidized bed laboratory experiment to investigate chemical oxygen demand(COD),NH4+-N,and total nitrogen(TN) removal performance.The removal rates of COD,NH4+-N and TN were 88.2%,95.7%,and 86.4% with e?uent concentrations of COD,NH4+-N and TN less than 50,8,and 10 mg/L,respectively.Biomass and bacterial activities were also measured,with results showing more nitrobacteria in the activated sludge than in the biofilm;however,bacterial activity of the biofilm biomass and the activated sludge were similar.Nitrogen concentrations during the process were also detected,with simultaneous nitrification and denitrification found to be obvious.BingWang Wei Wang Hongjun Han Hongbo Hu Haifeng Zhuang 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,2:22
2Environmental Efficiency and the Optimal Size of Chinese Cities显示文摘The spatial distribution of population and economic activities has tmportant tmpacts onboth economic growth and the environment. This paper uses a slack-based measure toestimate the total factor environmental efficiency (TFEE) of 286 Chinese prefectural-and-above cities for the period 2002-2013. In particular, the relationship between citysize and TFEE is investigated. The findings also show an inverted U-shaped relationshipbetween TFEE and city size, which implies an optimal city size of 16.68 million residentsin China. According to this estimate, most Chinese cities may be undersized due to themigration restrictions of the hukou registration system and, hence, suffer from greatenvironmental efficiency losses. The estimated low average TFEE value of Chinese citiesalso suggests the large potential for efficiency improvement. 3Computation on Sentence Semantic Distance for Novelty Detection显示文摘Novelty detection is to retrieve new information and filter redundancy from given sentences that are relevant to a specific topic. In TREC2003, the authors tried an approach to novelty detection with semantic distance computation.The motivation is to expand a sentence by introducing semantic information. Computation on semantic distance between sentences incorporates WordNet with statistical information. The novelty detection is treated as a binary classification problem: new sentence or not. The feature vector, used in the vector space model for classification, consists of various factors, including the semantic distance from the sentence to the topic and the distance from the sentence to the previous relevant context occurring before it. New sentences are then detected with Winnow and support vector machine classifiers,respectively. Several experiments are conducted to survey the relationship between different factors and performance. It is proved that semantic computation is promising in novelty detection. The ratio of new sentence size to relevant size is further studied given different relevant document sizes. It is found that the ratio reduced with a certain speed (about 0.86).Then another group of experiments is performed supervised with the ratio. 12Genetic diversity and population structure of indigenous chicken breeds in South China显示文摘A total of 587 individuals from 12 indigenous chicken breeds from South China and two commercial breeds were genotyped for 26 microsatellites to investigate the genetic diversity and population structure.All microsatellites were found to be polymorphic.The number of alleles per locus ranged from 5 to 36,with an average of12.10±7.00(SE).All breeds,except White Recessive Rock,had high allelic polymorphism(>0.5).Higher genetic diversity was revealed in the indigenous chicken breeds rather than in the commercial breeds.Potential introgression from the commercial breeds into the indigenous chickens was also detected.The population structure of these indigenous chicken breeds could be explained by their geographical distribution,which suggested the presence of independent history of breed formation.Data generated in this study will provide valuable information to the conservation for indigenous chicken breeds in future.Xunhe HUANG Jinfeng ZHANG Danlin HE Xiquan ZHANG Fusheng ZHONG Weina LI Qingmei ZHENG Jiebo CHEN Bingwang DU 2016Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2016,3,2:1
13Urban Development Boundary Simulation Based on“Double Evaluation”and FLUS Model显示文摘The delimitation of urban development boundaries plays an important role in optimizing the nation land space.“Double evaluation”is one of the important means to study and predict the scale of new construction land in the future and to determine the spatial distribution of urban construction land.This study combines the“double evaluation”with the FLUS(Future Land-Use Simulation)model to study the delimitation of the urban development boundary of Yichang.The results show that:(1)the“double evaluation”method comprehensively considers the carrying capacity of the resource environmental bear and the suitability of urban development;(2)the FLUS model can better couple the“double evaluation”method for Land Use/Land Cover(LULC)suitability evaluation,Land Use/land Cover Change(LUCC)simulation and urban development boundary delineation,and the overall accuracy of the simulation reaches 96%;(3)according to the requirements of relevant national policies,this study divides the urban development boundary of the study area into concentrated construction areas,elastic development areas and special purpose areas.This function-based division can meet the requirements of urban flexible development,ecological protection and urban safety.This research combines the FLUS model,which is widely used in the simulation of LUCC,with the double evaluation method used in China’s new round of land and space planning to obtain the result of the urban development boundary.This result is consistent with the existing plan of the study area.Xuchen JIANG Meng WANG Gang XU Bingwang FANG Kun QIN Rui XIAO 2022Journal of Geodesy and Geoinformation Science2022,5,2:1

16One-step preparation of a novel graphitic biochar/Cu^(0)/Fe_(3)O_(4) composite using CO_(2)-ambiance pyrolysis to activate peroxydisulfate for dye degradation显示文摘Herein,a one-step co-pyrolysis protocol was adopted for the first time to prepare a novel pyrogenic carbon-Cu^(0)/Fe_(3)O_(4)heteroatoms (FCBC) in CO_(2)ambiance to discern the roles of each component in PDS activation.During co-pyrolysis,CO_(2)catalyzed formation of reducing gases by biomass which facilitated reductive transformation of Fe^(3+)and Cu^(2+)to Cu^(0)and Fe_(3)O_(4),respectively.According to the analysis,the resulting metal (oxide) catalyzed graphitization of biocharand decomposition of volatile substances resulting in an unprecedented surface area (1240 m^(2)/g).The resulting FCBC showed greater structural defects and less electrical impedance.Batch experiments indicated that Rhodamine B (RhB) degradation by FCBC (100%) was superior to Fe_(3)O_(4)(50%) and Cu^(0)/Fe_(3)O_(4)(76.4%) in persulfate (PDS) system,which maintained reasonable efficiency (75.6%-63.6%) within three cycles.The reactive oxygen species (ROS) associated with RhB degradation was identified by an electron paramagnetic resonance and confirmed by scavenging experiments.RhB degradation invoked both(sulfate and dominantly hydroxyl) radical and non-radical (singlet oxygen,^(1)O_(2)) pathways.Regarding FCBC,Cu^(0)can continuously react with Fe^(3+)in Fe_(3)O_(4)to generate larger quantities of Fe^(2+),and both Cu^(0)and Fe^(2+)activated PDS to yield sulfate radicals which was quickly converted to hydroxyl radical.Besides,Cu^(0)/Cu^(2+)could complex with PDS to form a metastable complex,which particularly contributed to1O_(2)generation.These cascade reactions by FCBC were reinforced by carbonyl group of biochar and favorable electron transfer ability.This work highlighted a new approach to prepare a magnetic and environment-benign heterogonous catalyst to remove organic pollutants in water.Yangfan Yuan Changai Zhang Chenhao Zhao BingWang Xiaozhi Wang Bin Gao Shengsen Wang Jorg Rinklebe 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,3:0

20Correlation Analysis between Body Size and Slaughter Performance in F-_1 Hybrid Offspring of Princess Chicken and Kirin Chicken显示文摘In order to study the meat development value of princess chicken,the body size traits and slaughter performance of 12-week-old F1 hybrid offspring of princess chicken(♂) and kirin chicken(♀) were measured and the correlations between different traits were analyzed. The results showed that body length,keel length and shank length of male F1 hybrid offspring were significantly higher than those of female chickens(P < 0. 05). The live weight,carcass weight,semi-eviscerated weight,semi-eviscerated ratio,eviscerated weight,chest muscle weight,the leg muscle weight and heart weight of male chickens were extremely significantly higher than that of female chickens(P < 0. 01),and the leg muscle ratio and wings weight were significantly higher than that of female chickens(P < 0. 05),but sebum thickness of male chickens was extremely significantly lower than that of female chickens(P < 0. 01). Other indicators failed to reach the significant difference level. There were extremely significant or significant correlations between the slaughter performance and body size in F1 hybrid offspring. The regression equations between different indicators were identified and developed.
